Jareth watched her, took in everything that she was letting out and forced himself to not say anything. He wanted to. He wanted to scream at her and tell her that just because she was a shifter didnt mean that she should be forced to stay here. It didnt mean that it was forbidden for her to leave. It didnt mean that she was not allowed to do anything someone her age could do. It didnt mean that she wasnt allowed to...live.
Jareth wanted to tell her. To take her away from here and make her understand. He wanted to...but he couldnt do that. Not even if she was his mate. He couldnt take her from the only thing she knew and expect her to grow to love him latter. Even if this place was pratically keeping her holed up here. No. He needed more information. He needed to talk to others and understand just what this compound was.
Just what kind of place was he getting himself into.
For now, he wanted to comfort her. He couldnt take back what he said. Because that was his honest belief. But... "Im sorry." He pushed the food away on a nearby counter and turned towards her, scooting gently acorss the mattress until he could be in touching range.
"Breathe." His voice was soft and smooth, almost as if he was about to sing a lullaby. "Take a deep breath Lynn. Hold it. One. Two. Three. Let it out. Let it all out Lynn. Slowly. That's right. Again. Breathe. Hold it in. One. Two. Three. Release." He reached over and gently caressed her arm, the tingles gently running up his fingers.
"Just keep breathing. Its all going to be okay. Everything will work out-we just need to keep on breathing." He moved his hand down until he was grabbing the arm of the chair and he tugged hard, bringing her closer. When she was practically in his bubble space, he bent his head until his forehead rested on the back of her head.
Jareth knew he was invading her space...but this was the only thing he could do for her. "Im not going anywhere for a while. My wounds...take a while to heal unlike other shifters. And even when my wounds heal...im not leaving you here all alone. Im not going to just forget about you. Im not going to just forget about the woman whos destined to be my mate now am I?"
Jareth closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He held it for three seconds and then slowly released his breath, ruffling her hair. "I want to get to know more about you and want you to know more about me...Life sometimes feels like theres never going to be a way for the thing you want. But as long as we live, we can always find a way."
He pulled back, looking at her. "Even now theres a hundred possibilities for the future. For our future. Dont be stuck on the ones that dont look so nice. Overcome that and you'll see everything else we can achieve together."
"Lynn..." He paused until she focused on him. Once she did, he bent his head which bared his neck for her. "Bite me. It'll bind you to me. We can bound ourselves to each other. It could be a first step to ensuring that theres going to be hope in our future. You're my mate. I'm yours. With this, we can communicate with each other. We can create a bond-one that no one can break but ourselves."
"I want you to mark me. I dont want to lose you before I actually can get to have you. I'm willing...are you? You dont have to do it now...but before they send me away...please mark me."

That breath she had been holding in was released in a rush, giving her a chance to do as Jareth instructed her to do. For a few seconds, she did hyperventilate. But she was quick to take that first breath, hold it for a count of three, then release it. She did breathing exercises with Nataya so often that it was just second nature to her.
It did the trick every single time, sure, but it took all that she had to focus on just breathing, her mind always still in that "what if" mode. As she breathed, her thoughts constantly tried to break her down, getting her to focus on other things. So when Jareth moved to the edge of the bed, she didn't notice it.
However, she did feel the tingles. In fact, they ... shut her mind down. With the wave of little shocks she felt came a sense of peace and serenity that she never really felt before. With every intake of air she smelled his scent. Freedom. Nature. She conjured pictures of running through forests and jumping over fallen logs in her second skin. And she enjoyed it. Because in every scene that played, he was there beside her.
She wasn't sure how long it had been until she finally calmed down. But by the time she "rejoined reality", as Bo put it, her arms were wrapped around Jareth's middle, her head resting on his collarbone and her knees framed by his. Her eyes, pupils switching from slits to orbs, opened slowly. She couldn't help but smile at his words. Of course, not about his wounds not healing as they should, but about him not leaving for a while. Lynn selfishly wanted him to stay here forever.
And to hear him say he won't forget her? She wondered in that anxiety attack did more damage than she thought, and she had gone straight to heaven. Take that, Travis! Ha!
She closed her eyes again, turning her face to the side so that her forehead could be given a rest. Like this, she could hear plainly his heartbeat. The vibrations of his chest as he spoke Hallmark-worthy words that, even if Lynn had been through the whole "don't worry so much" vibe, se just wanted to write his words down and frame theem on her wall. "Yeah," she whispered hoarsly in agreement.
Him speaking her name did have her focus on him, and she maneuvered her head so that she could look him straight in the face. After a few seconds, she pulled back a little bit, her grip loosening so that she could see him better and give him a confused look. "What?" she asked, and then the more he spoke, that confusion she felt fused together with hope. She believed him. He had no reason to lie to her - that she could see. And she wanted to be able to communicate with him whenever ... wherever.
"Yes. Yeah." She laughed awkwardly to herself. Then shook her head. Moved closer to the edge of her seat, her jeans scraping the inside of his thighs. "If it means being ... mates -" she still couldn't get over the fact that Jareth Black-Trevor was her soulmate. How could she be so lucky? And he wanted this badly. For him, she'd give anything. "How hard do I have to ... bite? You did say bite. Right?"

It was hard to not do anything but hug her back as she was curled up around him. Every breath that Jareth took, it was Lynn's aroma that he took deep in his chest. She was so close and yet, Jareth wanted her closer. Wanted her to be perched on his laps, her legs curled around his waist instead of her arms, her body flushed against his and her arms around his neck while he nipped and kissed her lips. Jareth was embarrassed because he never felt this way for anyone. Hell. He never encountered anyone that he had these thoughts for. Even through his hormonal teenage years.
Matter of fact, he hated being touched by people. He would slip in the midst of his band mates and just grin and maybe shake a few hands rather than have the fans be up all him, hugging him and everything of that sort. But with Lynn? He wanted her touch on him. Needed more. Felt so...full with her next to him. Jareth forced himself to not pull her closer, to not use the little force he had so that he could easily pull her up until she rested on his lap. No. he wasn't going to push her but god did he enjoy having her in his arms.
His fingers trailed hesitantly at first up and down her back and when she didn't seem to mind so much, his fingers grew lazy and eased back and forth wherever they wanted, almost as if her back had strings and he was playing a little lullaby just for her.
He felt so full and content having her in his arms, he bowed his head just a little, his chin rustling her hair just a tad. He took a deep breath and felt her move up from his lungs expanding, and when he let go of the back, she came closer because she was so close to his chest. Jareth sighed out and bent his head again, her hair against his face and his lips against the crown of her head. He could have stayed like this all day. If he was lucky enough to be apart of her life, this would be all he needed to be happy. Just having her next to him.
Which was why he was nervous about hearing her answer. It was a big thing to do he knew and very strange as well. Even if she was a wolf herself. To have someone tell her to bite them so that they could communicate in case her people would tear them apart like Jareth knew them to, well most would push him away and tell him he was crazy.
He held his breath and with her acceptance, he breathed out in relief, his lips twisting into a smile as he joined in with her awkward laugh. "Thank God." He told her, not liking that she eased away from him but letting her have her space if she needed it.
"You'd have to break the skin." He brushed his fingertips against her the exposed skin of her neck where it met the shoulder and tapped that gently, enjoying the excited tingles that rushed through from his fingers and up. "Force your wolf to ease into me, just enough so that she has imprinted on me and so the mark stays even after it's been healed. Or put your feelings of wanting me to be only yours, of wanting everyone to know that I'm happily taken and wanting to leave a reminder for any shifter or anyone that I have a mate and I'm marked."
Jareth felt a little silly for saying all of this and that was showing in how his face was turning slightly flushed but he wanted her to mark him. That in itself was showing with how the silver burned through in his gaze.
"I would do it first but I think you should do it first. I don't want to scare you or hurt you." He tapped the same spot he had tapped for her on his own body, bending his head slightly to the left, baring himself to her in the most submissive way. She had control over this. If she wanted to do this she could. But if she didn't, she could still back away. Either way, he was hers.

Maybe she shouldn't be enjoying this. How his arms wrapped around her while tucking her underneath his chin. She shouldn't like this comfort be brought her simply because they don't know each other all that well. After all, she was just a crazy fan that would have scared him away if he knew just how much she knew about him. But she did. She couldn't help it. He was better than any breathing exercises. His fingers were gentle, soothing in their path across her skin. He acted like he wasn't bothered with how she clung to him. There was no pretending in front of him that she was a stoic soldier that was never bothered with how quickly things changed around her.
If she ever got to be a part of his life, she'd be happy to always have his arms around her.
The cold she felt in being away from him wasn't what she liked at all. She's always felt this sort of cold - she's never taken much notice until now, when he gave her something different. Something that she wanted more of: his warmth. His fingers againts her neck did help, tingles skidding across her skin like flat stones on a lake. A shudder went down her spine, but her eyes never left his as he explained to her what to do.
She herself couldn't help but blush. Normally she would have had her hair hide the red travelling across her cheekbones, but she didn't this time. Her attention was wrapped up within his words and the silver fire of his gaze. Barely suppressing another nervous laughter, she nodded before bringing her hands (shaking slightly) to hang loosely around his neck.
God, she can't believe she was doing this.
Her head bent, she moved it down so that she could ... bite him. She was hesitant, her heart beating fast like a gallop of a horse. Her lips pressed against his soft skin, a nonverbal apology given subconsciously. Though before Jareth could question it, she bit down.
Before she did, she vaguely wondered how difficult it would be to bite him. It takes a lot to draw blood. Now, she knew that it didn't take much effort. Her canine teeth had elongated - something that only happened right before she shifted - to peirce his skin shortly before the rest of her teeth came down. Blood gushed like a geyser into her mouth, the red sticky liquid filling her mouth before she had any time to react. She had expected for it to taste like how all blood was. Salty. So salty that it had a metallic tang to it. Instead, it wasn't like that at all.
No, there wasn't much of a taste to it; she wasn't a vampire after all. Her tongue brushed accidently against his neck, between her teeth, and it made her shudder with the ecstasy she felt. Mine, she felt something whisper in her mind. Was it the animal residing within her, or herself saying it? Of their own accord, her hands travelled up the back of his neck, each passing second they traveled having the tingles intensify. Her fingers tangled themselves in his hair, eyes finally fluttering closed.
He was hers. No one else's.
The mere thought of anyone touching him had a thin trail of jealously coursing through her veins, a growl escaping her throat. He would be happy with her. Because he couldn't be anyone else's but hers. If he was she'd surely perish.
Beneath his scent, she caught a whiff of smoke, making her nostrils flare. She paid no attention to it. At least, not right then. Mine, she heard the whipser again, and with that she pressed her chest against his before pulling away. Her lips were stained red, and a bead of blood dripped from her chin. On instinct, she licked the wound, cleaning up the area as well as trying to help heal it. It only helped to spread the blood farher than it was.
Right then, she didn't care. He was hers. Now everyone would know it.

Jareth smiled at her encouragingly and tried to hide just how much he enjoyed the sight and feel of her arms wounding around his neck and shoulders. It was almost like his fantasy coming true. She affected him so much that when her lips touched his neck, he shuddered underneath her touch in enjoyment.
He mumbled that it was okay but the words died as a groan escape him at the feel of her canines breaking his skin and especially at the feel of her lips closing around his neck. He hadn't known what to expect for his mother never really got into detail of how a mate mark felt, just the basis of it. He'd been expecting it to hurt like most wounds did since he did his best to not get wounded in the first place, given his condition and all. What Jareth hadn't been expecting was how good it would make him feel. Or how much he was aroused at the feel of Lynn marking him and running her fingers all over him.
Jareth felt her tongue slid against him and his fingers curled around her hips, fingers gripping her hard to him and one finger slipped underneath her shirt and touched the warm skin of her side. That and her fingers curling into his hair was enough for him to burst from enjoyment. While Lynn lapped at his neck, Jareth found that he was shaking. Not from the wound even though he was surprised to feel it already healing (most probably because Lynn had added her saliva to the wound which forced his body to make the healing process go faster than it normally did) but because of how aroused Lynn had made him.
God he just wanted her.
Jareth stared at Lynn, at her bloodstained lips and territorial look in her beautiful gaze and wondered just how lucky he was to have this beautiful woman all to himself. He wanted to kiss her. Right then and there. Wanted to taste his blood on her lips and see if she tasted as good as she looked. Instead he bent down and gathered her into his arms, mindful of his bad arm but wanting-no needing her close as he completed the bond between them.
She was in his lap, it was easy since she had been so close and he gathered the fine scarlet hair in his fingers and kissed it gently before moving it away, exposing her throats completely. "You smell like home." He mumbled, his nose touching her neck. He closed his eyes and kissed the spot which was parallel to his own mark, before calling the wolf and letting it go just a little until his teeth elongated into canines. He breathed against her skin before opening his mouth, teasing her skin just a little with his canines, unable to help not doing so.
His arms were around her waist, fingers trailing lazily around her lower back as he closed his mouth around her sweet tasting skin. He couldn't help but taste the warm skin first before pressing his canines deep into her skin, breaking it and feeling the warm gush of blood flood his mouth. Jareth shivered as he tasted her in his mouth and then swallowed, a part of her becoming one with him.
Then? Then he did what he wanted since the moment he felt that burning tingle. He marked her. Pushed his wolf spirit into her so that any shifter would smell his presence wrap around her and would know that she was taken. He imprinted on her, letting the mark become permanent no matter how many times it would try to heal, it would always show.
His wolf side howled in delight and everything clicked. It hurt but the pain was so beautiful that Jareth stayed there for a second longer before pulling back, lapping at the mark even as the bond started to strengthen between the two. He had finalized their bond and even now he could feel her in his mind, right there, bright and warm and strong and gold.
She was his mate. Mine. he growled into the link that they opened together and felt her repeat that to him through the link. Hearing her sweet voice through his mind and licking his lips because she was still on his lips and Jareth wanted so much more of Lynn. So much that it scared him and made him worried that he might scare her.
He stared into her beautiful eyes and told her the honest truth. "I can feel you." He said breathlessly, needing to touch her so he cupped her cheek in his hand. "And Lynn it feels amazing and warm and safe. It feels like home." He bent forward, pressing his forehead against hers.
This time he spoke, it was through their newly formed bond-their strong bond. "You're my home now." and wasn't that the god honest truth.

His gaze on her made her aware of everything. Well, everything pertaining to him. Lynn wished that they could be closer, and suddenly she was on his lap. His fingers felt like fire on her skin, but she didn't mind it. In fact, that fire licked its way up and down her body, heating her core and igniting desire within her eyes. Her hands, slightly shaky in her awe of him, traveled slowly down to rest on his chest. Beneath her hands she could feel his heart beating - fast, strong, and very much real.
She wasn't dreaming this.
Her breathing hitched, feeling his sof-as-silk lips on her neck. She tightened her hold on his hospital gown and finally had enough air in her lungs to let it escape in a sharp gasp when his delicious mouth broke the skin. Her eyes fluttered shut; a few seconds later, she felt what she could only assume was her own wolf rising, meeting his in joy and excitement at not only meeting someone else like her, but someone who was meant to be only for her.
When he was done, it took all she had not to keep him where he was. She still had her hands on his (lack of) clothes (and she thought how easily it would be to take them off), but the grip was loosened as soon as their foreheads touched. "Home," she whispered, not yet registering that Jareth didn't speak oout loud. "I'm your home?" The smile he got from her was a bright one: awe-filled, yet a little disbelieving. One hand released its hold on his gown, then mimicked him by placing it gently on his own cheek. There was hope, then. It bloomed like a flower, rising in eagerness to the sun.
He might have to leave, but she knew he'll come back. Because with each other, they'll have a home.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. "Lynn?" It was Orville, the Alchemist that was on her team. "Jareth?"

Jareth hummed in agreement and eased his head back just a little so that he could stare at his mate's face. What he saw? Left him speechless.
She was so beautiful when she smiled. When there wasn't that much doubt in her pretty eyes that were neither brown nor green but a beautiful shade of both. When there was hope. For some reason, whether it was because of their bond giving him a hint of her emotions now or because he just knew, but Jareth knew that it wasn't often that hope managed to crawl it's way to her heart. The fact that he managed to do it for her? Was a marvelous wonder.
He traced her smile with his thumb of the hand that was still cradling her cheek. Imprinting this image into his mind and fighting the urge to kiss that smile. Instead, he smiled back and nodded. "Yes. You're my home." He closed his eyes briefly to the warm feel of her hand against his cheek and then opened them again, his silver eyes sparked with happiness.
The knock made him flinch just a little and he glanced at the door, which was still closed and then at Lynn. He curled his finger around a loose stand and then nodded at the chair. He didn't want to get her in trouble for being with him. Especially after what he learned from her about the people here.
So he let his arm that was wrapped around her fall and forced himself to not pull her back on his lap. Where it felt right to have her. Where she belonged. With him. Patience. He told himself but she could feel his emotions pouring themselves through their bond since he wasn't going to block them from her.
"Times out huh." He said softly and touched her cheek once more before letting her down to the chair that was still next to the bed. Then he fixed the gown and blanket, before glancing back at the door.
"We're in here."
