The underground was definitely no place for him. Hell, the only way he managed to find a way to it in the first place was because Ren had connections there, and she knew a path near where the footage was taken. Reaver would never have thought that this place would exist. It set his nerves alight. Made him nervous.
"Relax," spoke Ren, who walked beside him, disguised. The demon turned to look at him with a broad smile. "It's not so bad once you get used to the place."
"Right." Reaver nodded. "Of course."
It didn't help he was getting glares and growls as he walked through. This particular part of the system wasn't the grandest of them all, as far as Reaver had been told, some places were beyond grand. But it wasn't small either. Finding a person here was a challenge in itself. It seemed like anywhere he turned he'd be bumping into someone, off to do whatever it was they did down there. He wasn't exactly vying to draw attention to himself, so he just kept his eyes forward and followed Ren as she escorted him through.
Drawing favours from her wasn't a good idea either. Reaver had already regretted it the moment he asked her to find him a way in to the underground. The way she grinned, already plotting something he'd come to regret. Perhaps not now. Hell, maybe even at a point in time when he would have forgotten about the favour that he owed the demon. She never forgot. Whatever outlandish schemes she was hatching, well he refused to think about that either. He just thought on what he needed to do, which was find Rose to make sure she was alright, and afterward, try to get some answers.
He couldn't help the slight sense of guilt he felt, feeling somewhat responsible for the position the woman found herself in at the moment. No, not somewhat. Mostly fully responsible. He sighed. "There's a lot of people here," he mused, looking left and right as they slowed down a bit and ducked under a low archway.
"Relax. If she's not dead by now, then there's a chance we'll find her." She shrugged. "There's always someone somewhere keeping tabs on the people coming in and out of here and selling that information to the highest bidder. That includes us. So chin up, will you?"
Reaver did as she said and straightened out his back, biting on his lip, keeping his eye out for her. He didn't think he was going to find her so quickly and so easily. There wasn't much of a chance that he'd just stumble into her either. This was... what, two weeks since he saw the video? It only really hit him that this is where she could have gone to. And Ren did not bring it up until Reaver had thought about it first, enjoying watching him torture himself over where the woman could have gone to.
Hell, for all he knew, Rose could be long gone, off across the country, or to another one in itself. She could be anywhere, coming in and out. Hell, he may have just missed her by a couple of hours if she was still around. He sighed again, heart beating fast, hoping she wasn't in more trouble than he figured she was in already. "Let's just hurry," he murmured. Ren was right. If she wasn't dead then, somehow, he'd end up finding her. But that didn't mean Rose wouldn't die sometime between now and then. She didn't seem to be all put together in the video. He'd lost track of her for a while. And, well, shit, this place kind of sucked. "I'd rather find her alive," he continued, throwing a glare in Ren's direction as she laughed under her breath.
"Right, right. Of course. Alive is better than dead." The demon sighed and rubbed lightly at the back of her neck. "Let's stick around here for now, yeah?"
"Yeah," he replied, stopping and stuffing his hands into the pockets of his coat. "Right." He watched the people go by, searching, while avoiding eye contact.

(I have three percent left on my battery so deal with the short reply)
He walked around, gun casually fitted into his hand and his finger playing along the curve of the trigger. It wasn't anything to draw too much attention. But he casually watched people come and go and he wondered how the hell the underground had become so stuffy if it was one of the lesser known things. A myth to some.
To be honest, he was bored.
It was out of this casual boredom that he spotted a face that he found familiar... But rather, unexpected. It was humorous in such a way that he couldn't help but laugh and point the gun at the head of the person who had interrupted his internal dialogue and brightened his day. "Really, you're the last person to be walking in through this place."

Ren had come through here a couple of times, whenever it was that her travels deemed it necessary. It wasn't a terrible place, really. Just a little seedy, that's all, with a couple of faces one would rather avoid than be in contact with. But, honestly, she thrived here, with these people, in this environment. Enjoyed it just a little bit too much, really, because nobody was trying to fuck with anyone too much. These were her people just as much as she was theirs.
Which was way she was just a tiny bit nervous dragging Reaver along for this particular ride. The man had never been here, and hadn't even heard of the place before. He was an outsider, and a particularly peculiar one at that. She knew that the others could see that in him, so she simply stuck close to him and kept an eye now. Not so much for his sake, really, but for hers. She couldn't allow him to die here, now, in this shithole. If he died, she died. The thought made Ren tremble a little, but she pushed that slight anxiety away and showed face. That was necessary down here. "Quit looking like you're about to piss yourself," she murmured under her breath, her eyes scanning.
"I'm trying," he replied, sticking close to her.
Ren sighed and turned to come eye-level with the barrel of a gun. "Oh," she exclaimed, taken aback for a small second as her sight focused from the barrel to the person behind it. Her lips pursed themselves tight, then frowned, then smiled slightly as she raised her hands up a bit to show she wasn't going to do anything rash. Bumping Reaver with her elbow, hard, until he did the same thing. "Fancy meeting you here," she replied, talking as casually as he had to her.
She tilted her head a bit. "But is this really how we're going to introduce ourselves again? At gunpoint?" She sighed. "It's been months. Where's the hugs? Where's the kisses? Where's the 'Oh, remember those good old times we had' as we sit over a pint of beer?" She pondered on his earlier statement, biting her lip a bit. "You know me. I come and go when business demands it." Her eyes glanced toward Reaver, stepping a little ahead of the man so that he wouldn't see her roll of her eyes. "Business is demanding it now."
She'd slowly began to lower her hands, but at the same time, kept them up with the palms facing the man so that he'd see, still, that she wasn't going to try to attack or disarm him. It had been... two years? Yes, that's what it must have been. At least in terms of the laws of time followed in this world. Two years since she last saw him, and if she remembered correctly (which she did, perfectly), the two of them didn't leave parting on good terms. "I see your scar's healed nicely," she continued, trying her damn best not to concentrate too much on that stupid gun. "That's good! You're looking good as new. Just like old times."
People walked by, casting casual glances in their direction, not really bothering to interfere because it wasn't exactly their business. How long had they been down here? Twenty minutes and already someone was pointing a gun at their heads. Reaver knew he shouldn't have tagged along. Ren warned him to simply stay above ground, in his home, and that she'd be back with information for him. He didn't listen. He never listened. He glanced at the demon whose life was tied to his - and figured the disguise she wore now was one she used to come to this place. That's the only reason she'd be recognized like this. Short, cropped hair, black as the night. A dull hazel to the color of her eyes. Her skin was a light brown, with a couple scars here and there. She wore a denim jacket ripped at the midsection with the left sleeve ripped as well, it looking dirty and worn, along with a black shirt shirt. Jeans, also worn and dirty. And boots. It was very unlike Ren, but the demon seemed comfortable enough in her disguise, so Reaver didn't question it.
"Come on," she continued. "This isn't about that little incident, is it?"

Jabri wasn't really one for serious situations. He had a humorous side, one that got him into a lot of shit, especially with the bitch standing in front of him. "Aw, no come on honey... You know I leave the past in the past where it belongs," He lifted his lips in a full smirk. A casual sign to show that he was relaxed. Ren had mentioned that his lips had been a very attractive point to her at one point. At another point, his lips had been the reason he had almost died in her hands.
But he really couldn't help himself.
Smiling, he lifted the gun away from her head, before pointing it down against Reaver's temple without taking his eyes off of the female in front of him. "That's more then I could say for some people. I know I look good, but I can't offer the same words in your direction, honey, sorry." Blinking, he turned his brown eyes towards Reaver and frowned while tilting his head. "You're far more handsome in person then the pictures show you to be."
Shrugging and while still holding the gun against Reaver's head, he turned back to Ren. "I'm not as curious about you as I am about the fact that you had the balls to bring this trash into this place. Snitches and cops are a no-no Ren. You out of all people should know that and if it wasn't my personal day, I would have thought of him as a gift. You know how many eyes are on what he's doing."

Reaver gulped. It's not like this hadn't been the first time that he had a gun pointed at his head. More like the fourth, maybe fifth time. He'd lost count. And he'd been shot at before. But the moments he'd been shot were when his attackers were far away, not right at point blank. He froze completely still, the words that the man spoke catching the attention of a couple bystanders, who stopped in their tracks a little distance away and watched curiously at the exchange.
She was glad that Reaver hadn't done anything stupid once the gun was pointed at his head. Freezing and keeping his mouth shut was about the one good thing Reaver had done today. "Now, now," she replied, keeping a terse smile on her face as her eyes glanced from the gun to Reaver and then to Jabri. "As handsome as he is, I can't let you kill him." She held a surprisingly light air to her voice, doing her damn best not to show the worry that she felt. Jabri, of all people, couldn't know about the pact she'd formed with Reaver. So she picked her words carefully as she spoke - from her experience, the man was smarter than what he let on. This was why she had almost begged Reaver to not come. Trouble. Just a whole lot of trouble. No matter where he went, trouble followed. "Not this one; not this time."
Of course they had pictures of him. Of course. Reaver had never put it past himself on just how much trouble he had actually been causing for people, but if they had pictures of him, and if they knew about him, then it only really meant one thing: he was doing something right. The thought didn't deter him, rather it invigorated him. And if he hadn't been here on another matter, he would have even smirked and acknowledged the fact first hand. But Ren was doing the talking, and he didn't feel like dealing with an angry demon again for butting in on business that wasn't his own.
For the first time in a while he was glad she was around.
"Believe me, I'm pretty sure we all know just how much of an ass he can be." Her eyes finally broke away from his so he could look around at the people who were watching. None of them really seemed like a threat, yet all of them could be one at any second. "But he owes me a favor that I intend on cashing in as soon as I am done escorting his ass - oh, don't make looks. You're acting like you haven't done the same before too. Anything for the right price, right?" As she spoke she reached up and slowly brushed her fingers against the gun's barrel, pushing down a bit so that the man was aiming at anything but Reaver's head. "Don't worry about him. I'm personally making sure not a peep leaves that mouth of his." She turned her eyes to Reaver, glaring at him, then back to Jabri. "And you know me. I'm a girl of my word."
She was smiling more now, slipping her body between Reaver and the gun. Ren crossed her arms, breathed in deep, and finally, relaxed physically relaxed a little. She extended her left leg a bit off to the side and leaned a little on her right foot, tilting her head. "If you're still alive it either means business is going well or everything fell apart while you slinked away. I'm going to say..." she tapped a finger against her bottom lip, feigning herself thinking, "... that business is better than ever. And - yes - you can relax because I'm not back to demand a cut." Ren waved a hand off dismissively. "Leave the past in the past and all that stuff. Oh! You must tell me, how are those little pups doing, anyone. You know, the ones we got the last time we met. What were their names... Jessi? Ansley?" She sighed. "Did they turn a nice profit?"

Ren had this special way of talking, Jabri had realized this a long time. She dismissed what others had to say when she didn't have the upper hand, which in term made others feel as if their point wasn't as valid to the situation as it honestly was. She slithered her way from a hostile situation with a flirty tone and a confident look. She was persuasive and petty, but made the opponent feel even pettier for having thought wrong of her. It had worked on him, twice, before he figured his shit out. So as Ren wiggled her way in front of Reaver, he noted the importance of the male she was trying to defend.
Nodding, he noticed all of the other people and the way they had shifted their attention at her words and even dismissed the situation. Most of them hadn't cared from the beginning, but Ren had even made a small number of people walk away and turn their backs on Reaver when he had been a target of theirs for a while now. Jabri couldn't help but roll his eyes at this either. She sure as hell was something sometimes that was for sure.
The final step to Ren's charm came when she switched the situation back on the attacker, mentioning a past and how she still had a solid connection to it. Making anyone that had come at her in a hostile way doubt themselves at the moment and want to take a step backwards. Well, anyone but Jabri because he'd bypassed her bullshit ages ago. He knew the way she spoke and manipulated the situation and so he decided not to even say anything until she'd given her final statement and had a sparkle of victory in her eyes. "Wooow," He said, extending the words and making a disapproving noise with the back of his throat.
"You live in a bubble..." He said with a slight pout as he stepped closer to her, laying his hand on her shoulder so that the gun would casually be on her, but facing Reaver who stood behind her. "Unbelievable." He joked, chuckling smugly at his pathetic joke while he brought his other hand around her other shoulder so that he could wrap his arms around her. He didn't move much closer to the point that they touched, but he was definitely within her personal space.
"Is there anything I could help you with Renny? I did miss you and I'm rather bored today. Hm, what do you say?" He asked as he rubbed his nose back and forth on hers and grinned smugly.

Ren prided herself in being a demon that was more involved with people than many of the others that she knew. Sure, she did look down on them more times than she cared to admit, but it did not mean that she didn't enjoy her dealings with them. Especially people here, in the Underground, where nobody really bothered with laws and regulations and simply did as they pleased. They weren't people who tied her down, unlike a certain other someone she was currently trying to defend. Ren almost sighed in defeat at the thought, to this day still unsure as to why she agreed to a life pact with the man. Hoping to corrupt him? Mess with him a little? She wasn't sure yet.
There was a day and time when she would have never defended a man like Reaver; there was a moment when she would have let people like Jabri do as he pleased. Times changed.
"Maybe," replied the demon casually, unbothered by his closeness, but smiling a little when he rubbed his nose against hers. "But, unfortunately for the two of us, no personal favors for me." She pressed a hand against his chest, fingers spread wide, but it was simply to feel him. "Even if it has been something near two years now."
But then the idea struck her, and the smile turned into something of a grin. Maybe Reaver and her wouldn't have to spend the whole day down here after all. "But, say, I guess I got a little job for you, if you're really that bored." Ren didn't step back but she had brought her hand back to herself, placing it on her hip as she watched him. "You know me, I have money. No need to worry about that." Ren paused. It really was as good an idea as any.
"I'm looking for a particular piece of doggie meat that's made the rounds not a while back." She glanced back at Reaver, saw his frown, and grinned as her eyes turned back to Jabri. "I'm sure you've heard of her. The girl killed a kid on Halloween." She smirked. "Assuming she's smart, the bitch fled to the underground. Aaand, assuming you're still on top of your game, I'm guessing you still keep tabs on the ins and outs of people of interest." She winked at him, smiling warmly. "I'd say that doggie meat is as much a person of interest as you're going to get, huh? So, how about it? I'm sure it'll be child's play for you, oh but you know me, I'm terrible at tracking people down. You'd be doing me a solid."

Jabri couldn't help but laugh and relax at this point. Not that he hadn't been relaxed but at this point, he was done with Ren. "You're such a cutie, you know that?" He asked, winking at her before moving away from the two of them. "No personal favors? It's all I am interested in honey. Money is coming in well these days so it isn't something to work for at the moment. However, I do appreciate you questioning how well I can do my job. Still your classic bait line huh?"
Shrugging, he sighed deeply and yawned widely, showing disinterest. But in reality, he knew Ren at this point would figure out the fact that he had an interest in the subject at hand. Something about the spark in his eyes when he knew he was holding a secret back on her, he couldn't help it. He liked the game. "You'll owe me a personal favor babygirl, if you even want me to dig up some dirt on this hippie of yours."

"Hm." Ren thought for a second because, well, she couldn't help it. When he asked for a personal favor it really could mean anything and she doubted that two years between them had changed much when it came to him. But did she really have a choice?
She glanced back at Reaver again because she wanted to see what he was up to. He'd been awfully quiet, which she was thankful for, and was sure it had to do to the gun aimed at him. She was caring less about him and of Reaver and was more focused on the task at hand. Still, the man would owe her more than just a favour once they were done dealing with Jabri.
"Fine," she continued. "Anything you want, as long as it doesn't involve him," she continued, thrusting a thumb back in Reaver's direction. "I'm dealing with, and you know how I get when people get in between me and my toys." But Ren still laughed, shaking her head lightly. "So are you going to help me out or not."
