Just a quick note should anyone reply: For ease, I'm setting this in the same world as the pack is in. Feel free to bring in pack characters, if you'd really prefer. I'm testing a character concept and personality, so honestly, anything goes.
"Three tasks." He muttered to himself.
He had his hand on his head, grasping at his hair as if he were going to pull it out.
"How the hell do they expect me to complete three tasks when I don't even know what they are?"
Cassius was talking to himself again, and he knew it. It helped him think better when he could hear it out loud, even if he had to say it more than a few times to grasp it. It was a bad habit, honestly, anyone could walk up and hear him. Then again, the most he'd have to be afraid of in most situations would be people thinking he was insane.
His heavy black boots were hitting the ground hard as he walked, and in Cassius' daze, he didn't realize that he was nearly running into anyone that didn't move around him fast enough. It wasn't that he was consciously being rude, he was just preoccupied with his own thoughts. Thankfully, most people could see that look in his eyes and face that screamed that he wasn't all there. Whether he wasn't all there because something happened or because he didn't have his head screwed on straight, that was up for debate.
The boy, or perhaps he was old enough to be a man, seemed out of place in a number of ways. It could have been his long strawberry blonde hair, or maybe it was his ratty clothes that looked like an old, worn pseudo-armor set. In all honesty, it was probably the armor paired with the sword on his hip. It was like all social rules had been thrown out the window with his outfit. Either he came from an incredibly realistic LARPing event or he was some weirdo that wanted to revive the days of armor and swords. Ultimately, and despite all the possible judgment, he seemed to be pretty comfortable in it.
Abruptly he stopped, looking up at the sky like it would give him the answers he wanted.
"Why can't you just give me a hint? Please? I'm begging you!" He shouted at it.
No one answered. It was probably for the best that way.
Cassius grumbled to himself, kicking a rock that was sitting in the crack of the sidewalk. He had noticed that he was standing outside of what looked like a bakery? Honestly, he wouldn't have been able to tell if it weren't for the smell of bread and sweets coming out of the stone building. Apparently, he wasn't the only one grumbling, considering the noise that came out of his stomach. What was the harm in going in for just a quick bite?
Nothing was wrong with that, Cassius decided.

((You're gonna have to forgive some slight shitty formatting, I'm on mobile))
Reaver had been watching, wide-eyed, halfway between amused and perplexed at the sight before him. He'd seen his fair share of rambling men, had even been in that spot a couple of times before, but this one took the whole cake and then some. He simply couldn't help but stand and stare, a hot cup of tea slowly burning at his hand, a small roll of water bread in the other. Reaver took a bite, then a sip, and hummed something to himself about not getting involved in affairs that weren't his own. By this point he should've known better.
He couldn't help the thought that the man might need some help. He didn't seem all there, so to speak, but then who was? If anything, the fact that he showed it meant he could be a little more trustworthy - flawed logic in practice, but for Reaver it somehow made sense.
"It's the quiet ones you gotta watch out for," he mumbled lightly before slowly stuffing the whole roll of bread into his mouth, chewing on it heavy and slow, not really savouring it as he would have wanted to as he washed it down with tea that threatened to scald the back of his throat. The whole time through he didn't break eyesight with the rambling madman, as he'd taken to call him in his head. He felt like a child staring at something strange at unknown.
Reaver looked down at himself, coffee-stained green shirt with the right sleeved rolled up to his elbow, and suddenly felt like a child. The thought disturbed him more than it should've, so he stopped thinking of himself and focused on the rambling madman, not really caring much for how he dressed while also noticing the sword. Reaver smiled inwardly, finding the sight somewhat amusing.
This was one of the many times Reaver could confirm to himself that his sense of aversion to a possible danger was absolutely fucked. Whereas others seemed to be giving the man a wide berth, Reaver instead walked straight for him at a slow and, admittedly, somewhat uncanny pace. Not that he was being careful, at least not as much as he should have been. It was just, these forms of first-time encounters tended to make him a little...
Just a couple of feet by the man, Reaver stopped and took a second or two to get another opinion on the man. No use turning away now; curiosity paired with a genuine desire to see what's wrong made for a hell of a motivator. A quick glance at his watch confirmed that, yes, he indeed had some time to spare. "Hello friend." Really? Reaver immediately backtracked, already feeling some innate form of anxiety settle in at the shitty opener. Despite it all, he kept a small and semi-professional, mostly friendly smile as he raised his cup of tea as if to say 'Hello there.'
"Ah, you seem a little... lost? Looking to get somewhere?" He sipped on his tea and fought the urge to throw this particularly foul-tasting beverage in the nearest bin.

As soon as Cassius opened the door to the bakery, he was greeted by a gentleman who stood just a little shorter than him. This guys hair was shorter than his too.
Cassius cocked his head to the side, immediately noticing the guy's eyes but he chose not to comment on his appearance...or his use of the word friend.
Outwardly, it might have even looked like Cassius was staring like an idiot before he realized he hadn't spoken yet.
"Hello. Lost?" Cassius rubbed the back of his neck and smiled. "I wouldn't say lost, per say. More like I don't know where I am, where I'm going, or what I'm doing." He laughed a bit and shook his head. By the gods, this looked horrible. He hadn't expected to run into anyone that wanted to talk so soon. Ah, oh well, there are worse things that could happen than him looking like an idiot. At least this one wasn't trying to kill him.
Cassius walked farther into the bakery, looking at the counter and the tables and the few people scattered around before he stopped and pivoted back to the gentleman he was speaking too. "Actually, I am looking for someone. To be exact, I'm looking for a woman. She's about this tall," Cassius put his hand to about his nose, maybe an inch shorter than this guy. "She has black hair that is put into dreads and she's covered in scars. Honestly, if you haven't seen her, you can hear her before you see her usually. So have you heard a woman yelling obscenities nearby?"
Cassius' mannerism seemed jerky, kind of forced. It was almost like he wasn't used to this kind of interaction or maybe he was forcing himself to speak with his hands? Who knew. He took another momentary pause before realizing he hadn't done another customary social interaction. So, he suddenly stuck his hand out to this gentleman and smiled again.
"I'm sorry, I seem to be forgetting basic manners. I'm Cassius Melikian, and you are?"

He stood aside to give the man some space and let him through, then silently noted his reply. Not knowing where he was or what he was doing was surely a sign of being lost, and Reaver was tempted to comment so. However he realized it wouldn't get him anywhere and he wasn't looking to start an argument over a trivial matter. He looked around the bakery and focused his attention on a man that didn't sit well with him. There was no reason other than Reaver not liking the way he looked. It made him frown. Very quickly though his shifted his attention back to the man who had introduced himself as Cassius and moved to awkwardly shake his hand after shifting the cup of tea to his left hand.
"Cassius?" Interesting, foreign-sounding name. It confirmed whatever doubts he may have had of Cassius being from nearby. He couldn't outwardly tell how far he'd traveled or how long he'd been at it for, but Reaver could make some outright - silent - assumptions. "My name's Reaver," he replied a little more slowly as he thought through the description of person Cassius was looking for.
He'd met plenty of people with one trait or the other. Angry, or loud, or a little bit of both. The woman in question didn't match anything Reaver could think of, but that didn't surprise him either. Save for a couple of people who'd been around him longer than he could remember, Reaver was as awful at remember faces as he was remembering names.
He shook his head somewhat sadly and made some attempt at a brief shrug. "Can't say I've seen, or heard, anyone like that. At least not recently." He waved for Cassius to take a seat, if the man had the time to spare. "I'm not too sure on how long you've been around here for, but that description you gave me could fit on a lot of people that pass through these parts." He huffed, lips twisted up slightly for a second, and repeated himself for emphasis; "A lot of people. They come and go. I'm not too into the business of keeping track of who's who and what's what, but it wouldn't be too hard for you to find somebody that might know more. I could probably point you to a couple of them if that's what you need, but they might not be as friendly or welcoming. More like cold and asshole-ish." He cast a quick glance and meekly pointed at the sword. "That might throw some people off.
"Regardless, if this lady you're looking for came by recently then you might not be out of luck." Reaver lowered his voice a tad and wondered why he still had a small smirk played at his lips. He couldn't help it. Probably made him give off a strange vibe. "People come and go but, for the most part, nobody comes through here without wanting or needing something. Like you, for example. Would you have come here had you not been looking for this person?" He waved a hand off. "I'm getting off track. What I'm trying to say is that if she came through here recently then she might still be around and not, say, a couple hundred miles south of here."
He again shrugged, placing a now empty cup of tea on a nearby table. "Though, to be perfectly honest, I don't think you might get too far with just a basic idea on how a person looks and their tendency to be really loud. A name might help, for starters."

"Reaver, huh," Cassius said as he shook the man's hand. "I once knew a guy named Reaver. Unfortunately, life didn't suit him well. Sad story, really."
Cassius smiled and took the seat that Reaver had offered. Why rush around to complete something that he didn't even know what it was? Besides, the person to give him these tasks had a horrible tendency to just let things fall into place. If he was going to try and actively seek these things out, he'd never find them. If he just let it happened, everything would go so much smoother.
He listened to Reaver talk. He nodded at the right times, smiled at the right times, but honestly? Reaver was rambling, even if the rambling ultimately had a point. Reaver reminded Cassius of Jules, a lot of talking for a very small point. He wasn't going to sit back and interrupt, regardless. That was rude and Cassius had no intentions of causing trouble, especially with someone that chose to be friendly to him. Things could have gone south very quickly in any situation if Cassius were to open up being and asshole.
"I can deal with assholes, trust me." Cassius had a small smile play at the corners of his lips at that comment. Just cause he wasn't going to start trouble didn't mean he wouldn't participate. "And I wasn't aware that women like that were normal around here. She is very uncommon in appearance where we're from." Cassius shrugged.
Cas noticed that smirk on Reaver lips, but he left it in the back of his mind. Mannerism are different here, perhaps that's just part of it. Even still, Cassius was left with the feeling that this man wasn't being entirely honest but once again, there was no need to start anything on just a mere hunch about a situation. Reaver could be honest, or maybe he was just an overall trickester. Now, that was something he could deal with. Tricksters normally had an agenda, and if Cassius was able to figure out that agenda and play into it, Tricksters were all the more likely to deal with him.
In fact, that made sense. That made more sense than just some random man talking to Cassius for no reason when everyone else had moved out of the way or would avoid eye contact with him. Yeah. This guy had an agenda and Cassius must be part of it.
"I didn't come specifically for her, actually. I was sent for something and normally-- and I do say normally, she could be here she might not be, she is sent after me. So, she's probably going to be within that hundred miles you mentioned. Then again, she might have sent Cleo. Oh, I hope she didn't send Cleo..." Cassius ran a hand through his hair, pulling it slightly as he looked at the table. "If she sent Cleo, everything will be so much more complicated." Cassius shook his head before refocusing on Reaver.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize that I didn't give her name. Kiara is her name, no last name, just Kiara."

(Let me know if i need to change anything)
Her feet were moving of their own accord as she wandered through town. She wasnt sure where she was going but she had a sweet tooth that begged to sated. She had passed many shops along the way but none of those would do. She wore a pair of black capris with a red and black v-neck shirt that was split up the sides and a pair of white tennis shoes. She wore her white hair in its usual braid down her back, though there were a few strands that escaped and curled where they fell. She wore a black and gold cap with her braid hanging out the back along with a pair of sunglasses to hide the discoloration of her eyes.
She been having such a hard time controlling her bloodlust that she had to seek help. She found a metaphysical shop and the woman was able to help her cleanse to negative entity that clung to her, though it was merely a temporary fix. Eliora would take what she could get at this point and appreciated the brief respite. Without her mind in constant turmoil and battling with herself Eliora was able to relax a little and that’s when the sugar cravings began.
She smiled as she saw the Bakery up ahead and could taste the fluffy goodness on her tongue already. She paused and gave the bakery a weird look. Had she been there before? As far as she could remember, she hadnt but if that was the case then how come her tastebuds seemed to have their own memory of it? She shook it off and headed there. She saw a strange man in weird armor and weapons head there also and she paused in surprised when she saw him speaking to himself. He piqued her curiosity, though she hung back. Something tugged at the edges of her mind but for the life of her she could tell what it was.
Shrugging, she headed for the Bakery. When she went inside, she couldnt help but smile at the assortment of scents given off by the teas and sugary sweets. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath pulling the delicious scents into her lungs. Though of course with the sweets came the scents of those closest to her and slowly opened her eyes and looked at the two men as she walked further into the bakery.
She took in the sight of the guy with the strange armor and weapon.then at the guy with the green shirt that had one sleeve rolled up. They seemed to be having an important conversation so she didnt inquire about the man’s outfit. She walked up to the counter and sat in an open seat at the bar as she looked over their menu. She couldnt help the feeling of having being there before though she shook it off and smiled as her mouth watered in anticipation of the sweets she was about to get.

For some moments, Reaver had sat in something akin to a contemplative silence as he listened, and then thought about, what Cassius had said to him. The name Kiara did not ring anything of importance to him. He'd never personally known anyone named so, but at least knowint a name helped out. All the women he knew of who matched the description were not named Kiara as far as he knew. There was the odd chance of a changed or fake name, but if these were new arrivals he doubted that would be the case. He came to the conclusion that the Kiara person was nobody within his circle, but that didn't mean she couldn't be found.
"Cleo sounds like a bad thing," commented Reaver after a couple of moments of thought. He met Cassius' eyes, his smirk faltering before suddenly reinvigorating. "So maybe we should avoid Cleo as best we can. Complications are nasty business, I'm sure you can agree." We? Sure enough he'd involved himself into this, as much as he could at the very least. Reaver couldn't deny his interest in this event.
In comes a stranger looking like he came out of the turn of the century, seemingly lost and confused, looking for someone who may have been just as curious-looking as Cassius. His curiosity drove him to learn more, involve himself, and see just how far he could take this before he bad to bail out.
He was near about to suggest something ridiculous when he gazed over his companion's shoulder to the woman that gave the two of them a peculiar look. She ignored them and moved on ahead, but nonetheless Reaver tracked her with his eyes and grinned as wide as the Cheshire Cat.
"Well, I'm going to be honest here, friend. This Kiara person you're talking of, I don't particularly know who this might be. That doesn't mean that nothing can be helped, either. Town is full of very, very, interesting people. Some know more than others. Now, I've got some, ah, people you might like to meet. They could help you out. But really, you could just walk up to anyone and ask them. Someone here knows something."
He boldly stretched his arm out and pointed, smirking, at the woman who'd done the mistake of looking them over for a few seconds, thus earning his attention. "That lady sitting over there looks very knowledgable." Reaver made it a point to speak loud enough that even she'd be able to hear. "There's no harm in not asking. And I don't mean any offense, but any help is better than no help."
And more people made things more interesting. Reaver's smirk, that turned to a smile, was genuine. The man sitting across from him needed help, and anything was better than another night of nothing.

"Cleo isn't a bad person," Cassius defended, "she's just difficult to handle sometimes."
By sometimes, that meant that woman was difficult to handle all of the time. Cassius would never understand why he ever even got involved with her. The first time they met, she should have died but something told Cassius to save her. Usually, Cassius' gut feelings got in the way of doing things that needed to be done and goodness, sometimes he wondered why Cleo hadn't crawled back to...
Cassius shook the thoughts out of his head before he smiled at Reaver. "She's a bit crazy, but she is an old friend of mine. She just complicates things more than she helps." He shrugged before he followed Reaver's eyes to look at what he was looking at behind him.
He didn't understand the significance of the white-haired girl. She was just another patron that was a bit more interested in actually getting food than the two of them were but Cassius felt...uneasy with that smile Reaver gave. What was this guy? Cassius began to stare at Reaver and was rather blatant about it. He was looking the man up and down, taking an inventory of his features. Initially, Cassius couldn't figure it out, but he had managed to narrow it down to a few different options. Once he was done staring, Cassius sat back and looked out the window.
"Trust me, Kiara makes herself known, so you're right. If she is anywhere near here, someone would know." Cassius looked back to Reaver with another smile. "Besides, I find that places with the most interesting people had a tendency to keep tabs."
This was a trick.
Cassius couldn't think of any other reason for that grin on this man's face. The way that Reaver carried himself made Cassius definitely question his decision to talk to him in the first place. Regardless, Cassius stood up, pushed his hair back and kept that smile on his face. This conversation was still pleasant, regardless.
"Good point, I think I'll go ask." There was no hesitation when it came to Cassius casually walking right up to the woman. He leaned against the bar and gave a broad smile at her.
"Hello, ma'am, I'm Cassius. I was wondering if you had seen any strangers in the area, besides myself of course."

She could already taste what she wanted to order. Eliora smiled when someone came and took her order. “Yes ,i’ll have a slice of your crisp apple pie with a cup of spice tea. Thank you.” She’d said and went back to looking through their menu. She wanted to eat so much more. She chuckled as she thought about Sammie and how he’d told her if there was anything he could do to help her let him know. Well she had been need of some money and was pleasantly surprised when he provided. Though he always looked at her as if she were some science experiment but she brushed it away taking the money he offered. The man was a grump but she liked him.
Eliora was a bit embarrassed that she was acting like a kid in a candy store but she couldnt help it. She was just happy that she wasnt constantly crying or angry , or even constantly being egged on to murder people. There was still longing and the undeniable feeling of being incomplete, but it was bearable and she was at peace even if it was only temporary.
She was brought out of her thoughts when she heard one of the guys speak aloud behind her. She stiffened and her heart raced as adrenaline began to fill her. She had to force herself to calm down by taking a few deep breaths. She was no longer on the run, she could relax now. Besides, he probably wasnt even talking about her. That thought caused a small sigh of relief to slip past her lips.
It was short lived when the guy in the armor leaned against the bar and spoke to her. She turned to him and looked him over. He looked normal for the most part and his armor , while weird to be wearing as if they’re everyday clothes, looked pretty cool. He wasnt trying to outright kill her so she figured it was ok to speak with him. She cast a glance at the guy he’d been speaking with just moments ago, before turning her attention back to guy in the armor and wondered what they were up to.
The waitress brought her order and sat it in front of her and she said a quick thank you Eliora found herself genuinely smiling back at him. ‘He seems respectful.’ Eliora thought.
“Hello Cassius, i’m Eliora. All of these people around here are strangers to me.” she said with a soft laugh. “Are you looking for someone in particular?” She asked curiously before turning to eat a piece of her pie.

People who were difficult to handle were not the kind of people you wanted to be around when you were lost. It was a thought that came as quickly as it went, but Reaver kept it to himself. These weren't people that he knew and he had no intention of offending and alienating Cassius from himself. That was, of course, if he was fully intent of being around to see something happen. For all Reaver knew this could have all lead to nothing. Cassius, strange a man as he was, could just as likely have left and never returned to town as he could have caused quite a commotion for the coming couple of days.
He stared back and again withheld any comment, conforming to simply listening and learning more about the kind of people that Cassius was involved with. The similarities to people that he knew almost made him laugh: loud people who made themselves known through action; troublemakers who weren't easy to handle. Reaver gave Cassius a second glance, really eyeing him up this time around, taking in detail what he wore and how he held himself. If these two other people he mentioned were anything like he was, well... Reaver felt just as inclined to figure those two out as he was to avoid them entirely.
Something about the way Cassius stared at him made Reaver believe that the man wouldn't be too appreciative of Reaver butting further into the situation. Now that was a thought that forced a small chuckle out as he watched the man confidently saunter his way toward the new arrival he'd not-so-elegantly placed the spotlight on.
He took his time to move toward them, carrying a chair along with him. Reaver noticed the strange looks some patrons were giving him as he carelessly heaved the chair over his shoulder but, with his attention on those two ahead of him, he could hardly care any less. Though he did spare a glance at them all. One man in particular didn't sit right with Reaver - something about the way he dressed or how he looked. He didn't know the man, of course he wasn't in a position to judge, but his stomach turned itself over whenever Reaver set his eyes on him.
Distractions. Reaver blinked away the strange intrusive thoughts and slowly, gently, placed the chair down beside Cassius and the woman who'd just introduced herself as Eliora. Reaver sat as he beamed a toothy smile at her, then mirrored the gesture at the man, and then back at her. "Hi, yes, we're looking for a lady," he explained, figuring that all the pleasantries had already been done with, being especially aware that he hadn't introduced himself either. "My friend, you see, we're not from around here." His smile died to something a little more manageable, a smirk he kept as he talked. "And you seemed like someone who, ah, well someone that seemed knowledgeable of the area and the people."
He turned his head to Cassius and flashed him his grin, then leaned back and relaxed into the hard chair. The man could take it from here. Reaver was just as happy to listen and see where things would lead.
