(Ariella Here you go)
Casey had stayed in the general area of the studio where he’d had his interview with Jessi. Being in town made him very uneasy and uncomfortable, but most of all it made him miss his old life. As much as he hated to admit it, and he definitely hated to admit it, he missed his pack and he missed his mom. He gave a small sigh and wondered if they had changed in anyway. He wondered how Azalea was doing and if she was still alpha. Last he remembered she was trying to get the New Dawn back in shape.
He wondered how Ventia and the pups were doing. He was sure they had to be grown by now or at least matured. He’d also wondered how things were going at the infirmary and with Jewel. She was always a bug help to his mom and still, no doubt. He smiled as he thought of how his z Xpack was fairing better than before. There was no stopping the longing that filled him whenever he thought of New Dawn but he couldnt go back. He couldnt bring himself to go back. There was still some anger there where they were concerned that he needed to deal with, not to mention he wasnt really sure if he would be welcomed back.
‘Dont be foolish. If you wanted to go home they would welcome you back with open arms. Honestly i dont know why you would want to go back, but eh thats just me.” Kymani said nonchalantly. Casey mulled it over and sighed. More than anything he missed his mom the most. True she hurt him the most, a part of him still held out hope that she had not abandoned him and was still to this very day looking for him. Kymani scoffed and Casey growled softly. He understood Kymani’s skepticism but he refused to give up completely on his mom.
‘I hear ya, kid.’ Kymani said in surrender and let Casey be. It was late in the afternoon and a little breezy. He was grateful for the respite from the heat of the early afternoon heat. They currently sat beneath a tree on the far side of a public park. It gave some good shade and a nice resting place. He watched as children ran around playing, couples walked hand in hand, and groups of people were sitting and having fun. He even watched in amusement as some guy was trying to get his dog to run after a stick but the dog wouldnt go for it.
The breeze caused strands of his hair to dance while the rest was tied at the nape of his neck. He set his backpack aside and laid down using his shirt as a pillow and placed his hands behind his head with his ankles crossed at the ankles. He was completely relaxed as long as the others kept their distance from him.
Casey’s thoughts turned to his so called “mate”, Rosalina Lupien. She was beautiful and, once upon a time, held his heart. She used to be the reason she smiled, and the reason he worked so hard to come out of his shell to become more social. He’d wanted to be her king and she his queen. He’d envisioned them creating a family and exploring all that the world had to offer. But , as he’d learned, life wasnt always sunshine and happiness.
His ideal life with his mate was promptly shattered and he learned very quickly how dark life could be. Despite that though, even in his darkest hour he’d felt that he could weather any storm that life sent his way as long as his mate was there with him. But low and behold, his mate was the reason for many of those storms. She was not his rock when he needed her the most. She turned out to be the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Whenever he’d reached out for her it was as if she’d turned away from him leaving him to ride the storm alone. He didnt need that. Mate or no mate, he didnt want in his life anymore in any kind of way. As it were, his life was messed up enough without the added drama and headache from her and her kin.
“Stop mulling over her.” Kymani growled in irritation.
“I cant help it. I feel like things between me and Rose-” Kymani’s snarl cut him off. “You better had not been about to say something stupid like ‘it could have gotten better.’ yadda yadda yadda.” He said angrily causing Casey to snarl right back.
“Well if you wouldnt have cut me off, you would have heard what i was going to say.” Casey narrowed his eyes as she looked up into the tree. “I was going to say that things between us needs to officially end.” He snapped before closing his eyes and sighing. “Truthfully, a relationship with her is not healthy. I dont want to be the reason she cant find happiness.”
Kymani snarled again. “That last thought should not have even been in your thought process in the first place. If anything stops her from finding her, it’s her fucked up family and the shit they have going on.” He growled and paced.
“Granted, she was a fine piece of ass but that’s all she brought to the table and that’s not worth the bullshit that comes with being with her. If you feel like you need to cut things off with her then, fine we can do that. But be warned i’m not going to be in the mood for her bullshit. I will let you handle things but i will step in if need be.”
Casey felt red hot anger at Kymani’s words but it soon died away and he found himself sighing and agreeing. “Okay fine.”
“cool, so when did you want to to do it?”
“I dont know, the sooner the better. At least that way i wont feel like i’m attached to a ball and chain.” This caused Kymani to laugh.
“Kid, you’re gonna feel like that with any woman.” Casey laughed also. “You’re bad Kymani.”
“No shit. I’m the big bad wolf.” He growled and snapped his teeth and they both laughed. Kymani had a feeling that the chick , Jessi, caused the kid to be in his feelings. He was certain that it’d pass, though he did wonder how the kid was going to go about talking to Rose. He figured that the he’d just wait to find out. One thing was for certain, he was not going to allow Rose or anyone else to pressure the kid into changing his mind or guilt trip him for his decision.
Deciding to give it a rest and just enjoy what little time they had in town, Casey got comfortable and enjoyed the breezed. He’d even decided to take a nap trusting Kymani and Tu’tuanka to keep watch. He had no clue where Rosco had gone but he knew it wasnt too far.

The sun was setting and people were leaving. Casey stretched and yawned as he looked around drowsily. Tu’tanka’s head snapped up and he became alert immediately. The wind had shifted and for the briefest of moments Casey could have sworn had caught Roses’s scent. Kymani knew it was Rose and that she was somewhere nearby.
“Well kid, its sooner rather than later.” Kymani said nonchalantly.
“Yea.” Casey said and got to his feet stretching before allowing his instincts to to lead him to his mate.
