( Thea) The night was warm with heavy clouds overhead hiding the dancing stars. The breeze that came through was mild as it carried taunting laughter to the two large males that gave chase to a lesser vampire kin. They were unable to catch the fiend before he ripped the throat of a little girl and bled her dry. The sweet smell of her blood was overshadowed by the stench of her death. It was repulsive to Cian but sadly it was a draw for Zander. This the vampires knew and used it to lure him out. They had been doing that a lot lately. Hunting had kept Cian from going to his mate and as such he was in a volatile mood. Not to mention that Zander seemed to be inching closer and closer to the darkness. Cian was weary of letting the male out of his eyesight. Zander was his brother. He had lost so many already, it would break him if he had to end Zander’s existence. He hadnt really had a chance to explain things to Patience in the manner that he had wanted but he was going to rectify that the first chance that he got. “Cian!” At Zander’s sharp call through their link, he looked up in time to see that Zander had cut the male off and was chasing him towards Cian. “I see him” Cian replied as he looked down from his perch in the treetops. He spread his wings and flew overhead gathering surrounding energy that seemed to collect in the very clouds that covered the sky. Lightning flashed brightening up the otherwise darkened skies. Cian flew ahead of the vampire and shifted with his sword in hand as he brought it down to decapitate the vampire. The vampire jumped back just in time to evade the killing blow and instead his sword laid the creature’s chest open mere inches from its blackened heart. It hissed at Cian and tried to make a run for it in a different direction only to be stopped by a bolt of lightning. Zander busted through the forest in his wolf form snarling before he tackled the vampire and sank his fangs into the foul beast. “Zander, no!” Cian cried out as he put his sword away, but it was too late. There was an anger inside of Zander that seemed to be a living thing. He was getting to the end of his rope. He hated that he was to hunt down and kill his kin, each kill tore at him, the wounds deeper than he would allow to show. He had lived long enough to see Cian mated, though the girl had yet to be converted yet. He struggled to stay just above the dark waters that tried to drag him under. He didnt trust himself to feed from a living being, the lure to kill them was so strong, so he had to feed either from Cian or depend on the offered blood bags from those at the hospital. He was growing to hate his duty to his people and his King. Why should he waste his existence destroying that of others when it was their choice? He stopped that train of thought, knowing that it was influenced by the vampire blood that was coursing through his veins at the moment. Yet he still clutched the vampire in mighty jaws and shook the beast like it was a rag doll, all the while the thing screeched and clawed at his face which only caused Zander to bite down harder. Suddenly a body slammed into him and knocked him from his feet. No sooner had he hit the ground, the vampire was ripped from his grip. Black blood dripped from his mouth and his eyes blazed with anger as he looked up at glared at Cian. “What the fuck are you doing?!” He snarled and lightning lit up the sky. “I could ask you the same thing brother.” Cian said calmly as he eyed Zander sadly yet wearily. ZAnder slowly stood to his feet and fought that rage that pushed him. Both were taken from their thoughts as the vampire began to laugh. “You both sound like quarreling females. I dont see why the master is even wasting energy on the likes of you.” The vampire laughed again though this time it ended with him coughing up blood. The vampire served to bring Cian and Zander back to main issue at hand, finding the Master Vampire that was pulling the strings in this region and employing lesser vampires like this one to do his bidding. Cian lifted his hand flicked it causing roots burst forth from the earth to wrap around vampire’s neck, arms, and legs bending him painfully backwards. “Who’s your Master?” Cian demanded. The vampire screamed and cian let up a little. The vampire gasped for breath and bared his blackened fangs. Its black blood dripping and scarring the earth. The vampire laughed between gasps. “As if I would tell you.” Cian calmly snapped his arm like a twig so that now it faced the other direction. The vampire screamed once again. “Now Devin, i’ll ask again. Who is your master?” After its screams died down the vampire glared at Cian as Zander stood beside him growling menacingly. “Why rush so quickly to your death? You’ll meet him in due time, you and your mongrel mate.” At the vampires words, Cian snatched all of its limbs from its body. “What do you know of my mate?” Cian demanded. Zander began to get a bad feeling about this. After looking in a different direction he turned his gaze back to Cian who was exuding angry energy but otherwise remained calm after his little slip. The vampire laughed at him despite the pain it was in. “oh we know more than you know. Like how at the moment she is among a group of humans out in the woods having some sort of party. The Master was ecstatic that you had found her because it meant that he got to kill her. Of course, he wanted to have a little fun first before he forced you to join our ranks.” “Cian…”Zabder said almost softly but Cian was too wrapped up in what the vampire was saying. “As we speak, one of the generals has taken a group out to have a little fun at the party.” The vampire laughed at the utter rage that was on Cian’s face. With a snarl, Cian plunged his fist through the vampire’s chest and snatched its heart out. It screeched and fought hopelessly against its restraints. “Even if you kill me , the damage would have been done!” It screeched and a bolt of lightning struck the foul creature lighting him up with blue black flames. As the flames hungrily devoured the vampire and its blackened wherever it lay. When only ash lay in place if that foul creature. Cian roared and the wind began to gust, the earth shook, thunder crashed and the sky became live as blue lightning lit up the sky as if it were it’s very veins. Cian could feel the presence of the lower ranking vampires and the storm intensified. The storm was isolated in their area so as not to disturb anywhere else. He caused the earth to roll before splitting open and swallowing them whole and rising and up. The gusting winds ripped trees from their spots in the soil sharp broken branches swirled and struck the clot of earth that held the vampires imprisoned. He released his hold on the element and watched as half a dozen vampires fell , some getting impaled by the swirling debris. “Cian!” Zander growled. “You do not have time for this. I will finish them off. Go to your mate before its too late.” It took a moment for Zander’s words to register with him. Without a second thought, he shifted and flew in the direction that he could feel his mate in. “Patience…” He called out to her with his mind hoping that she heard his call. He didnt know if she would be able to hear him. It was not something that he had spoken with her about. Hell, the last time he had spoken to her was when she lay in the hospital bed. He was never too far from her though with the amount of hunting that he had been doing…. He felt stupid for not putting it together and he cursed himself. The wind picked up with each stroke of his wings as he rushed to his mate.

Patience was, indeed, a mongrel. By definition a mongrel was a dog of no definable type or breed, and while Patience knew her lineage (Greek on her mother’s side, fae royalty and dragon on her biological father’s) she did not have such perfect skin or hair as to what she made her friends at school or her over ten million followers on social media believe. She was talented with glamour, a gift that was given to her by the faerie part of her, and she used it so much that the only group of people she couldn’t fool was the ones with the Sight. To the group that she was with, she had dark hair the color of tree bark, with equally dark eyes and an olive skin tone. No blemishes. No bruises or scars. Nothing.
When in fact, she did have blemishes in the way of dragon hide, light blue in color and varying in size. The most prominent of them was a patch that went from the middle of her cheek to over her brow bone. The dragon skin was more than just on the top layer, because not only does she only have one eyebrow, but one human-looking eye as well. Her other eye was purple in color, with a slitted pupil like that of a dragon’s. It helped to terrify those of the lesser gentry on the faerie realm and be revered as a sort of deity in her grandfather’s realm. And don’t even get her started on her ears.
Here? She would probably be seen as a freak, and be taken in with her brother to have experiments tested on them.
There was an undeniable ache in the pit of her stomach, not as sharp as it had been since meeting Cian, but still there, as if there was something … missing. Something that she knew that he can only fix. This scared her. How she can feel so bereft after meeting someone just once. It had her fearing that her True One was a sorcerer of some sort. Did he cast a love spell or something? She wasn’t sure, and she hadn’t had the chance to go look for him or go by the hospital that she had been taken to so that she could ask about his whereabouts. She sure hasn’t seen hide nor hair of him. It made her wonder occasionally if he was just a figment of her imagination.
She wouldn’t have been surprised.
“Hey, Mellow, don’t look so down,” Imogene, her best friend, gave her an encouraging smile and tapped the neck of her bottle to Patience’s. Imo wasn’t really drinking though, and neither was Patience. In fact, neither was Wade or Seth. Wade was more of the drinker in their little ragtag group. But tonight, with the flames of the bonfire roaring high and the bass of Wade’s truck vibrating their bodies, the traditional gathering after a generous ass-whipping of the Clay County’s Mongeese between the Kingsway Cobras held a dark air. Was it because these woods they went to were supposedly haunted? Probably. But Wade said that this party wasn’t going to bleed into the next day like these get-togethers usually did.
At least it wasn’t going to last long for the “Death Bringers”. Patience was too caught up with this ache she felt and Wade was going to go with his intuition anyway. “Ya’ll do what yawanna do,” Wade had warned before the ceremonial throwing of the stuffed mongoose in the fire and the music filled the air, “but my advice is we don’ go overboard tonight. Let’s make sure we get home safely.”
Wade was the usually the instigator. He was the one to start this tradition when he and Patience first became heavily involved with their school, and usually the drunkest. But he was rather sober, with a protective arm around Imogene as they and Patience sat on the tailgate of his truck. Seth stood beside Patience, watching their surroundings but showing everyone that didn’t know who the four truly were that he was relaxed. He didn’t like gatherings like this, but he was contracted to protect Patience. Wherever she went he was supposed to follow.
Patience, upon hearing Cian, jumped and looked around her. Patience only spoke with Nemus through telepathy, but knew that dragon side of her gave her such ability. No one has ever tried to speak to her that way, not even Wade, and he was her twin. It sounded like Cian though, which made her ask herself if she was going insane with the grief before asking the only being she spoke to in that way, Nemus, did you call my name?
No, came the hound’s reply, slow and lazy as if she had woken him from a slumber. He was back at the mansion; with how loud the music was it would have damaged his ears. So Patience left him at home.
Patience frowned, shaking her head at Seth’s questioning look, and went back to staring at the flames.

(sorry it took so long )
Mikuláš Kováč stared out at the group of children as they seemed to drink themselves stupid. The noise that was playing was nothing but an irritating racket of different instruments thrown together. Mikuláš could feel the anticipation of his group as they nipped at the bit wanting to sink their teeth into the tender succulent flesh of the youth that was running around without a care. It was like they were flaunting themselves for them wanting to get snatched up.
“Grrrr….cooommmee, let ussss eaaaat alreaddddy.” Whined one of the vamps. He looked more like a skeleton than anything. His lips were barely visible as they stretched over his fangs and his bones stretched thin over his bones, his hands were like claws and his fingers were like long bony claws. Mikuláš looked over the others who were very similar in their looks. He rolled his cornflower blue eyes and shoved his platinum blonde hair from his face. “Eh fine I dont care.” He said and turned back to look out at the group watching as the vampires hungrily descended on those unfortunate enough to be chosen.
He couldn't help but smile as he listened to the screams of the frightened children as their fear filled the air egging on the need to kill them. Mikuláš looked around once more and noticed a small group off to the side, though they had a quality about them that led him to believe that he had found their target. His eyes landed on the girl sitting on the back of the truck and licked his lips. Some of his guys looked on the others that ran ahead with disgust. “Pay them no heed, allow them their fun. We, on the other hand, have a job to do. I believe the darling brunette over on the truck is the main target. Come, let us use the distraction that our brethren granted us to our advantage.” He said and waved his hand over himself and changed his appearance.
He wore a red and white polo shirt that was torn and dirtied with blue jeans that were also ripped. His hair was now more of a golden blonde and messed. He looked thoughtfully at himself and the other five vamps that accompanied him seeing that they too changed their appearance to that of high school children. “Hmmm …” Mikuláš said thoughtfully. “We need this to look more authentic as if those idiots also tried to attack us.” Mikuláš grinned evilly as he slowly walked towards one of his men, his intentions very clear.
~*~
Cian cursed himself something fierce as he rushed to get to his mate. “Patients….” He called out to her. He knew he shouldn't have left her, he hadn't wanted to but he had duties that he had to tend to. He couldn't take a day off because that would mean people would die and more would join the ranks of the wretched vampires. He wanted to destroy something. He was so full of anger that it began to affect the elements. He forced himself to calm lest he gives himself away., but there was definitely a deadly storm brewing and anyone that dare touch his mate would pay with their lives. With a fierce cry, he flapped his mighty wings and flew faster one would think possible for a bird of his breed.
~*~
Zander looked upon the mess of the vampires that had the misfortune to be the target of Cian’s rage. He looked up and watched as Cian flew out in the distance before turning back to the mess before him. He raised a hand and felt the charge of energy from the building lightning. They struggled and tried to get free as they begged for their lives.
“Zander, pleeeeeease…. you are one of us. You understand why we do thisssss.” one of the vampires cried that was impaled by a sharp tree branch. It’s black blood covering said branch, causing it to slowly rot.
Zander snarled as he slowly walked closer to it. “Know this and do not misunderstand me. I am nothing like you lot.” He growled and strung up even more intense electrical energy.
There was a crackling bloody laugh that was followed by deep wheezing coughs. “You’re not one of us? What a fucking joke.” It laughed and coughed up globs of blackened blood. “You are the reason the two of you are even on our radar.” its words were cut off as a series of bloody coughs tore through him, though another picked up where he left off.
“Yeesssssss, you may be able to fool Cian, but we can sense what is in your soul and your blood.” The vampire laughed but it was cut short when Zander ripped its head off and snarled.
“Anybody else wants to be “insightful” because I'm done with this shit.” He didn't wait for a response from any of them the energy that he had gathered and struck each one viciously, watching as every last one of them burned to ash along with every drop of their blackened blood. He watched unblinking as the blue-black flames consume it all. He was glad Cian was not there to hear the words spewed by those despicable creatures. He didn't need to worry about that, not when he had finally found his lifemate. Zander was determined to protect him for as long as he possibly could.
He lifted his and let out a mighty howl as he stood amidst the all-consuming flames. He would meet up with Cian and his mate after the vampires were destroyed.

The screams were faint, but they were there.
Wade at first couldn't understand what he was hearing. 50 Cent's "Candy Shop" was blaring too loudly from his truck to discern it, but had a feeling that it was something that they needed to hear. So he did, telling Imogene to "Sit by Patience," before going to turn the music down. Imogene complied, knowing that when Wade felt something in his gut, nine times out of ten he was right. All day today he had a look on his face that was a cross between constipation and worry. Or it could be that his worried face WAS a look of constipation. "I don't think we should go tonight," Wade had murmured to Imogene constantly. "Maybe we should just call it off."
"But this is your sister's win that we're celebrating," Imogene had countered. "Everyone says that she's the best softball catcher we've got, and if it wasn't for her we wouldn't have won that … big game that we had." Imogene wasn't much of a sports player, but Patience was her best friend; damn her to hell if she wasn't going to be Patience's cheerleader. "And we all know that Principal Wilks is very fond of the trophy case in the cafeteria."
Wade had opened his mouth to argue, then shut it again. Patience had been melancholy since the game. He knew what had happened while he was away. His mother explained it all - more than likely exaggerating it - from the wreck to Patience’s new True One that has yet to make an appearance after she was discharged from the hospital/clinic. Wade liked to think of himself as an open-minded individual. He hasn’t met this Cian being, so he couldn’t very well make an opinion on him if he wanted to. But he didn’t like how Patience was so depressed-looking all the time since that day. There was a guess that Cian could be talented with coercion or have put Patience under some sort of spell. Whatever he was, though, Wade’s patron god approved. Calliope had been forced to call off the wedding between Patience and Griffin.
That had ruined his biological father’s plans as well, but Kheelan didn’t know that just yet.
Wade set aside his gut feeling enough to try to put a smile on Patience’s face. Although it didn’t seem to be working. Mellow still looked like Nemus had died on her birthday; every now and again Wade caught a lip quiver. Granted, she was better than she had the past couple of days, in which she had locked herself in her room with the saddest music to drown out her muffled sobs
No matter what Apollo had told his mother, Wade knew that Patience crying was a hard thing to come by. She sure as hell wouldn’t be crying over a True One for no good reason other than sorcery. In the tradition of dragons, Patience had to be the one to decide if her True One was worthy to be her lover and the father of her offspring or not. Still, it brought out the protective instincts in Wade enough that he wanted to throttle whoever it was that had Patience so down and hope that whatever was causing such sadness could be taken care of before Patience was called to Court.
“Hey, why’d you turn it down?” Shayla called over the bonfire. The orange and red flames highlighted the softball captain’s blonde hair, turning it a color so fiery that she very well could have been a spirit that stepped from it. “I fuckin’ love 50 Cent.”
Usually when there was a get together such as a bonfire, there were kids that weren’t from Kingsway High that came as plus-ones. Girlfriends and boyfriends and cousins and others of the sort. People that Wade didn’t know but nevertheless felt responsible for. After all, they came to a party that he was hosting. Obviously, boyfriends and girlfriends will go off in the woods, away from light and drunken assholes to get some mooches. A little hanky panky. And drunken assholes will go to the woods so that they can relieve their bladders for the fiftieth time that night. They may stray a little too far but the bonfire was large enough that they could find their way back to the crowd. But Wade knew they wouldn’t tonight. Couldn’t.
“Wait,” another teen said, gripping the neck of his beer bottle hard. Jake was the male basketball captain. Tall, rather on the skinny side. But he could throw a mean three-pointer. “Are those screams?”
“Hey, stop yelling!” Maya called out, slurring her words. But she was terrified because she heard screaming too. “I TOLD y’all this forest is haunted, but does no one listen? Nooooooo.” Shayla was gracious enough to clamp a hand over the prominent tennis player’s mouth, and everyone at the bonfire stayed quiet for a few moments. Tension was palpable in the air. Then:
“Wait, where’s Melanie and Tyler?”
“Sean! Sean where are you?!”
Anyone that came with someone who had slipped away was starting to clamor for those whose screams they were afraid they were hearing. Imo wrapped her arms around Patience and pressed a cheek to her best friend’s head. Seth stepped in front of the two females in a seemingly casual way, looking for the cause of the screams as Wade yelled over them all, “Shut the fuck up!”
Save for the screams and the crackling of the fire, those that have stayed by the inferno shut up. Maybe because of the guns in his hands or the force behind his order, Patience wasn’t sure. Regardless, if Wade wanted to, he could command a group of people easily.
“Here,” Seth murmured, offering the m1911 he usually carried to Patience. She took it readily, but her heart thudded within her chest with building adrenaline. Was she scared? No. She was terrified for those who were screaming. She watched Seth take the lever-action rifle Wade proffered.
“No one is to leave the bonfire to look for any of the dumbasses that decided to walk off.” Wade glanced at Imogene. Patience felt Imo nod against her head before she heard her whisper, “Wade wants you to throw up a glamour and hide everyone.”
That she could do. Patience took the gun off “safe”, dropped her beer, and rested her index finger above the trigger. She closed her eyes, ignoring everyone and every sound. Normally, she wouldn’t have to drown out her surroundings to create new ones. This time, she had to revert back to basics because she wasn’t in the right frame of mind. As she started working on her glamour, she heard her name again, startling her out of focus.
This had to be Cian. If Wade and Imogene could communicate via telepathy, then why couldn’t she and Cian?
Why the hell didn’t she think of this before hand?
Cian, she called out in her mind, imagining him in front of her. Her throat constricted and a slick heat pooled at the bottom of her belly unbidden. Even a conjuration of him could make her feel this way about him. Is that you?
“Why aren’t you throwing up that glamour?” Imo hissed.
Patience shook her head, broke away from her best friend’s hold and took in a shaky breath. To Imo, she asked in a whisper if Wade had any Dragon Spit. I have to concentrate, Patience said to Cian. Give me a few moments. Hold on and I will talk with you.

Mikuláš looked at his group and was satisfied that the group before him looked like some roughed up teens. “ok. lets go have some fun. Shall we?” he asked with a grin that was shared around his group. “Go forth,” he commanded and one by one they began to take off in different directions. Only two were left with him. “Lets go.” he headed out at a jog that soon became frantic as he portrayed a fearful teen running for his life.
“Help! Somone please help us!” he screamed as he kept looking over his shoulder and going so far as to stumble over himself. He clamored to his feet when one of his comrades came to help him up. “HELP!” Mikuláš screamed once more frantically looking around to find someone to help them. They spotted the group over by the bonfire and headed for them. Mikuláš headed their way frantically waving them down. “Hey! Hey! We have to get out of here ! it’s not safe! Th-there’s some weird creatures chasing us! They… they were..they were eating...oh man oh man oh man oh man….” Mikuláš said as he looked over his shoulder frantically then back. “It’s unreal man!”
The other two acted as if they were out of breath and was trying to get their breathing under control. Just then there was a high pitched soul-wrenching scream that had them go completely still. Soon it sounded as if something large was crashing through the trees. “Its coming...its coming!” he said and frantically scrambled to get away but fell in the process.
Soon a hoard of bloody vampires came bursting through the trees. ‘Attack us.’ Mikuláš commanded and it confused some of the lessers but they soon followed orders and started to run headfirst towards them. “NO! Stay away!” he cried out and was grabbed by his leg. He kicked and fought against the lesser’s grip and frantically tried to gain his feet and run. “HELP US! PLEASE!” he begged before he looked over to the other two and saw that they were also fighting against the lessers.

Cian nearly died fron the relief he felt when Patience replied to him. His heart swelled and strengthened his resolve to get to her. “Yes, it’s me.” He said and allowed his relief to flow through to her. Though when she said to give her a moment, he became anxious. What was she doing? He held his tongue as he tried to hold back his unease at the silence that stretched between them.

Patience felt the relief he sent her almost as if it were her own. Indeed, this telepathic … connection that she just found out they had was like her connection with her hound. Nemus felt her emotions and was able to sift through them and figure out which ones were his. (He also could feel her pain, but unlike the emotions, her pain was his. There was no getting around that.) With his relief she had her own, both intermingling within her chest, making it warm. For the briefest of moments, she forgot her sadness, her bereavement, the fact that they very well could possibly be in danger. Then she got to work, her resolve stronger.
She started to create the visage of total darkness weaving around the stoic watchmen that were trees, eyes closed not in concentration, but of knowing that she wasn’t given the title Mistress of Illusion so frivolously. For while she created this new reality outside the people that were huddled around the fire no one outside the perimeter she set for the glamour was supposed to know that there was even a gathering no matter what it consisted of.
She was slower than she’d like, she’ll admit. And it was evident in the way that she jerked out of her almost trance-like state, tightening her grip on Seth’s m1911, when the random group of guys came out into their clearing practically broken and bloody. Seth went to grab Patience’s elbow so that he could help her off the truck’s tailgate but stopped before touching her. Instead, he watched as she moved down herself. Imogene walked over to the toolbox Wade had in the bed and opened it before she rifled through it.
“Whoa whoa whoa,” Wade said, his rifle pointed at the ground but nonetheless ready to shoot if he needed to. “Just calm down.” His voice held authority, but was definitely a lot nicer than how he sounded just a few minutes ago. “What’s eatin’ what?”
“That’s it, I’m leaving,” Jake said, raising his arms in a classic “I give up” position. “Goin’ home, callin’ it quits.” In a scramble, most everyone that was left by the fire was getting in their vehicles and turning them on. The only one that wasn’t leaving quite yet was Shayla, Patience’s fellow softball player and captain. Patience and Shayla used to be close, what with their love of the sport being the main reason they were. They were practically inseparable going through school, becoming captain and co-captain in junior year and before that helping the team win game after game after game. And it didn’t hurt that Shayla was born with the Sight and she knew the inner workings of Court life.
At the beginning of their senior year, she and Patience had a sort of … falling out. No one knew why. But they just stopped hanging out.
But it was clear that Shayla hesitated in leaving, keys in her hand as she looked at the newcomers, then at Patience, back to the newcomers, then Patience again. She opened her mouth to say something, but before she could she saw the … things.
Patience could only call them things too, her eyes widening in disgust. They looked like … zombies. And the air they gave off was pure, unadulterated evil. She looked over at Shayla over the fire and motioned in a big wave of her arm to leave. “Go!” she hollered, terror for the girl that used to hang out with her as the night went to hell in a handbasket. Shayla may have known about Patience and Wade’s heritage, but she didn’t know how to fight. Shayla’s life flashed before the princess’s eyes; her order was more frantic. “Go, dammit! Go!”
Imo jumped over the side of the bed, landing on her toes lithely and shaking a can of spray paint vigorously. Patience knew what she was doing with it, and she hoped that her best friend would hurry things along. All three took aim at a vampire, though they didn’t know what they were called, and shot. Wade at the vampire that had a hold of the teen by the leg, Seth at one close by, and Patience at the one that was getting close to them.
Nemus, how fast can you get here? Patience asked, a grimace on her face.
Give me five minutes.
Cian, are you close by? She turned her attention to the telepathic connection she had with him. She shot once more, stepping back. To herself, she hoped he was.

Mikuláš almost lost his composure at the indecision that they showed. He looked to the target and nearly scoffed. They were going through all this trouble for her? She wasn’t drop-dead gorgeous and looked rather plain to him. It didn’t really matter. He had a job to do and she was it. He wondered how sweet her blood would taste. He turned frantic eyes to the dude that held the rifle in his hands, silently taking stock of him and the other male that stood closer to his target. “I...I don't know what they are man man….” He didn't get much more out before the attack happened.
The lessers crashed through the opening covered in the blood of their victims and wanting more. When Mikuláš heard the girl yelled at one of the other females he grew curious. ‘Acquire that female.’ He ordered as he fought against the vampire that was currently clawing at him trying to sink its teeth into him. The creature’s teeth were jagged and black though his face was covered in red-black blood from the blows and kicks that Mikuláš was delivering to him. He was sure to hold back so as not to give himself away.
He cast a glance over at the other two that had come with him into the clearing and cried out for someone to help them, being sure to put as much fear in his body language and voice that was appropriate. The vampires were starting to come in groves now and the two on the ground were beginning to fight in more earnest as more vampires came at them. Their blood soaking into the earth black and poisonous to the earth. Their glamour made it appear and smell as regular blood would. “Help us, Please!!!” They screamed before curling in on themselves to protect themselves from the onslaught of the
Mikuláš reached out towards them and tried to move to help them but the vampire that beat on him sunk his teeth into his leg causing him to cry out in pain and turn on the vampire and fight him back. He kicked the vampire with his free leg and made contact with the side of its face. The things jaw became unhinged and Mikuláš shrank back in disgust though his disgust only lasted a moment before he was forced to protect his throat when the Vampire threw his leg and went for his throat with a snarl.
Mikuláš spared a lookup to see Wade come over to help him with something in his hands. He quickly curled in on himself and tried to roll out of the way of the shot, not wanting to get hit by a bullet. “Ahh!” While he was playing his part, he sent an order to his men to let no one leave. Soon vampires were crawling all on the vehicles trying to get inside to the tasty treat that awaited them inside. They would claw and beat on the body and windows of the cars leaving blood streaks and cracks from the abuse. The other two that were being attacked by their vamps didn't try to move out of the way seeing as how they were in no position to. So when the shots rang and they hit their intended targets, the bullet traveled straight through and grazed one on the shoulder while passing straight through his shoulder.
When they thought that they were in the clear, they started to scramble to their feet but was tackled by even more vampires and screamed as they sank their teeth into them and proceeded to tear into them, ‘killing’ them. Mikuláš scrambled to his feet and started running. There were too many to try and fight off and he couldn’t without giving himself away. “Run!” he screamed.
~*~
Cian sent reassurance and calm to Patience. “I am here,fél ku kuuluaak sívam belsö (beloved). Stay calm, your fear will draw them to you.” he said and dive-bombed a lesser vampire before shifting. He wasted no time as he pulled out his sword and cut the man’s head off before brought down a bolt of lightning to burn the remains. His presence seemed to send a shockwave, both figuratively and literally, as he cut down vampires left and right sending bolts of lightning through their hearts and setting them a flame. He had one aim and that was to get to his mate. He was ready to kill any who got in the way of that.

Patience would like to say that she was a good shot. And so were Wade and Seth. Granted, the twins did better with bows than with guns, but their aim was almost always spot on. Seth was a well-rounded guy (as he should because of his career). Daggers and bows and guns and blow darts ... all impeccable weapons when in his capable hands.
It can be understandable that when they found out these bullets were going straight through their intended targets, all three of the gun-wielders were dumbfounded at first. Really, exasperated seemed more like it because they seemed to keep missing their targets! But when Wade shot at a monster that was too close for comfort, he stepped back a few paces and cursed in the language of the Ruthless Clan.
“Stop firing and get in the bed!” Wade snapped, and waited before two of the dudes that were being attacked died and the other ran away before running backwards so as to not give these things his back.
“They’re getting in the cars,” Seth said cool as a cucumber, turning to watch as Patience got back up on the bed of the truck.
“Where is the Dragon Spit?” Patience barked, breathless.
“Patience! Wade!”
The twins’ heads snapped up at Shayla’s scream, who had the bright idea of getting on top of her car to get as much distance from the monsters as possible instead of doing what Patience told her to do. Tears were streaming down her face as she tried kicking at them.
“Shayla, hold on!” Wade hollered over the flames. Looking back on this night Patience would remember them, crackling happily away at the gasoline-covered wood, envious at how oblivious the fire seemed to be. Oh how she would have loved to be it that night, not a topic of anyone’s attention. Just fire being what it was.
“Oh my God!” She shrieked in reply, her voice joining the other athletes’ before they were cut off sharply.
The breath Patience had left her in a rush of relief; she was not going to deny that Cian’s offered reassurance and calm was taken. They were almost tangible things, a blessed cool working their way from the pit of her stomach to seemingly emanate from her pores. It was like a hug from her human grandmother after Calliope said that she wasn’t allowed to follow through with her passion of writing. Oberon’s very rare thanks in the words “You honor me, Patience.” A simple wink from Cindimir and a giggle from Sapphira.
It’s easier said than done when people that you know are dying around you, she said, the heat of adrenaline and fear not giving up their fight in control of her. But then all thinking stopped when her mind tried to fathom Cian’s entrance.
At first, she saw an owl attacking one of these monsters. It had her wondering if Athena was in their midst helping them fight. But then Cian took its place in a blink of an eye. Patience had to admit that she was enraptured, eyes wide as saucers as Cian made his presence known on the battlefield, looking like a righteous god while he carved his way to Wade’s truck. Or rather ... her.
And it was a battlefield, wasn’t it? It changed into that from a massacre as soon as Cian literally swooped in. It was clear that he knew what he was doing. What these things were. How he could call upon lightning, she wasn’t sure, but she couldn’t say she wasn’t impressed with it, or how he swung his blade with no hesitance or missteps. He was equally elegant and lethal. Patience had to box it away and inspect it for later, but the feeling of excitement she had was there. Was it because of the unintentional proof of him being able to protect her that catered to her dragon side? Or maybe the way it was clear to her that she didn’t just dream her True One up at all, and the feeling of bereavement disappeared?
“Here,” Wade cut into her thoughts, shoving a heavy glass container into Patience’s open hand. In it was a viscous liquid the color of snot. Every time she had to use it the color and scent made her want to gag; despite the goings-on in her surroundings she still felt that lurch in her stomach. But she downed the rest of it with a grimace on her face, forcing away the desire to upchuck on Seth.
Wade was the first to let out a breath of flame. There wasn’t even a warning for the fast-approaching vampires, and the heat from the fire was hot enough to make Patience sweat immediately. Did Wade give the Spit enough time to coat his innards? Patience hoped he did because it was going to be hard to summon the healer in the midst of battle.
She waited impatiently for ten seconds, which was barely enough time for the Spit to cover her own stomach and throat, as Seth took off his jacket and tossed the two firearms he and Patience both had into the bed. Seth was only human, sure, but he had a few tricks up his sleeve. If he could survive court with the fae, he could protect her from anything.
Patience took one last glance at Cian, then blew over Imogene’s head as she finished her spell a flame so bright and hot she closed her eyes briefly at the onslaught on her corneas.

Voss‘If you have a need for it, you can lean on mine. I am your sword and shield.’ Cian didnt really react to Patience’s words about losing loved ones. He knew the pain very well. He knew the pain of them dying in front of him by way of suicide because they could no longer live in a world where there was no light for him to cling to when darkness wanted to swallow them whole. He also knew the pain of having to be the one to kill them once they have given into that same darkness, giving up hope of ever finding their lifemates and any chances of ever finding one. He’d been dealing with it for centuries, though as time passed he’d become detached to that pain and it had simply been his duty that he was upholding. There were no attachments. His thoughts turned to Zander when he had heard the howl of a giant wolf . ‘Are you alright brother?’ he asked him. ‘ I am fine. You need not worry about me and tend to your female. Have you rescued her yet?’ He asked nonchalantly, the both of them carrying on a calm conversation as if Cian wasnt fighting vampires on his way to his female or the fact that he was setting vampires and the tainted earth on fire to burn away the scourge as he made his way to her. ‘Not as of yet. She is with others, protecting them. She looks like a strong and capable warrior.’ Cian said with a disgruntled tone. Zander’s laughter filled his mind and Ciangrowled at him as he raised his hand causing a root to shoot through the ground and spreading to entangle some vampires while stabbing others through their rotting chests and blackened hearts. Setting the rotting appendages on fire with blackened flames. The screeching of the dying vampires filled the air. ‘Have fun with that. Sounds like she will be a stubborn handful.’ Zander said with feigned light hearted laughter. He opened his mouth to howl once more, this one closer and sending a shockwave through the vampires nearest to him, stunning them as he crashed through the trees. He was a giant black wolf with stormy cobalt eyes that was rolling over the vampires nearest to him. His methods of killing the filthy creatures were like that of Cian’s though it seemed as if the black flames themselves were leaping from his very pelt. ‘Anyway i am not your female or any female for that matter. I don't need you to coddle me.’ he stated as he struck down another vampire, making his way to Cian. ‘That may be true, you are just as stubborn as one.’ Cian stated as he danced out of the way of an incoming vampire who charged him with his fangs bared at him.Cian swung back with a downward arc and pivot cleaving the creature in two before a bolt of lightning crashed down at him aimed directly at its blackened heart. That didnt slow him in the least, still he continued to make his way to Patience. It looked as if he were dancing as the area lit up with blue lightning and black flames. ‘You need to destroy their hearts in order to kill them, but there are too many here and many more that are on their way here.’ Cian relayed to her as he saw her and another spewing flames. He had questions regarding that but they could wait. With a growl of frustration he launched himself into the air and came down with such force it created a chasm between Patience and the vampires that were trying to get to them. With a slash of his sword he sent blades of air cutting whomever it may and had spiked vine-like roots entangle and rip apart those they ensnared. ‘Do not allow their blood to touch you.’ Cian stated sternly as he started to leap over the chasm towards Patience. She was right in front of him, right there. But all he saw was the image of Mikuláš dressed in blue jeans and a red and white polo as he inched ever closer to Patience. Seconds. That's all Cian had to make a decision on his next move. There was a bellowing roar that tore from Cian as he launched himself at the Vampire that had gotten so close to his female. The wind became gusts as vehicles, trees, boulders, and vampires alike were being thrown out of his way. With a flick of his wrist, he shot roots out at Mikuláš, flinging him back several feet. “Do not let that thing near her!” He roared and the resounding sound of thunder clapping rent the air as lightning lit it up even brighter than before. Cian flew past Patience and her group so quick he was just barely a blur. He summoned his sword and it lit up with blue black flames as he swung it in an upward motion. Mikuláš laughed maniacally at Cian and brought his arm up to block the blow. Metal appeared along his arm, shielding his flesh from the flames and the assault of the blade. “Well hello there Cian, its nice of you to finally join us. Did you have a bit of trouble finding your way?” He asked in a heavy slavokian accent. ‘Zander-’ Cian started across their shared link but was cut off. ‘Understood.’ He replied and fought his way towards Patience as Cian allowed the swing of his blade to be the answer to Mikuláš’s questions, pushing the vampire even further from Patience and her group. ~~ Zander Leapt over the chasm and shifted as his feet touched the ground. He stood the same height as Cian at over seven feet tall with raven black hair that fell past his shoulders yet whipped around in the gusting wind. He was dressed in flowing white clothes that had not a wrinkle nor discolor to them despite the chaos around them. His piercing cobalt eyes focused only on one person and that was Patience. “Come, we must leave here before their reinforcements come. I’m sure Cian has told you as much before he sent me to you.” he said in a deep accented voice. He was sure to keep his distance from her so as not to accidentally touch her. He was aware of the presence of the others but they were not his concern. “We need to go. If you wish those present to accompany you then that is your choice but their safety is not my priority.” He growled and turned to land a quick kick to the jaw of one of the vampires that had managed to make it over to them. Immediately the creature was ensnared in roots and lightning pierced his body setting him ablaze leaving nothing but a charred space where it had been. He picked up a handful of dirt and blew it in the direction of the oncoming vampires. It became a large dust cloud that would impair the vision of the pursuing vampires. “Come.” He said and began to walk off. ~*~ Lacramiora sauntered through the forest gently running her hands over the bark of nearby trees as she passed them. She could feel their essence and energy, loving the feel of the small electrical shocks she received when she touched them. “I can't believe we really left! This is going to be so much fun!” she shouted and then giggled as she draped her arms over Daciana and Viviana and blew a kiss at Sorinna. She looked from Serghei who walked behind them along with Lupe over her shoulder. “So what are we going to do first?” She asked with a big grin. The guy’s weren't so inclined to let them leave their homelands in the first place let alone by themselves. Their families would most definitely not be happy with their little escapade. Females were few and far in between, so to have four of them up and disappear would most definitely cause some drama. Though the group didnt seem to be too concerned about. They were tired of being under strict surveillance, being constantly reminded that they were the salvation for at least four of their men. Though they have not yet found them didnt mean that they were not out there. Lacramiora had gotten tired of hearing the others complain about it and wanted to do something about it. So she came up with the brilliant idea for them to leave and travel, to enjoy life while they could because there was no guarantee that they would be able to when they found their males. Daciana had only a portion of Lacramiora’s energy and looked around the wooded area sensing the nearby wildlife that kept their distance. Viviana smiled and rolled her eyes at Lacramiora. “Shouldn't we be the ones to decide where we are going to go? That is the whole point of us even doing this.” She said in a soft singsong voice. “Girl you right. Soooo what are we going to do?” She asked letting go of her friends to dance a little bit ahead of the group. She did an about face and began to walk backwards. “Maybe we could go to the mall? I need more costumes.” Lacramiora said with a thoughtful expression. “Man, you have more than enough outfits to last you the next fifty years, if not more, without even wearing the same one twice. You definitely dont need any more costumes.” Daciana said, laughter coloring her voice. “Now if anyone could use some more, its Princess Viviana.” she teased. Viviana turned bright red and shoved Daciana lightly. “I do not!” she said, affronted that she would call her a princess. It was because her father quite literally locked her up in a castle only being able to go anywhere if she had guards around. Viviana sighed and let her head hang a moment. “Though a trip to the mall does sound fun. What do you think, Sorinna?” Lacramiora was brought to a halt when she felt the disturbance in the earth and surrounding plant life. Soon the sound of screams filled the air. “Hey do you guys-” she was unable to finish her sentence when a group of vampires came out on the path that they had been walking on. “The color drained from her face and she began to tremble. “Vampire.” was all she said and stumbled over a root though kept her balance. She had never personally encountered them before, but her father would often share his memories of them with her. They were the boogiemen of her youth, a constant reminder of what she was preventing a male from becoming. Her mother of course was never ok with the fact that he would do it but his reasoning was that it would help her to understand just how important she and the other females were to their people. She immediately threw up a wall of thick thorny vines. “We have to go!” she said and took off running. Viviana and Daciana were shocked at the group of decrepit figures that had managed to find them. They had never seen vampires but had always heard about them, and knew that they were highly dangerous. Lacramiora’s vine wall served to snap them out of their stupor as they chased after her, their fear was tangible.

Patience merely shook her head at his 'sword and shield' comment, forcing herself not to be exasperated at the old fashioned comment. She had other things to worry about; Cian's chivalrous words was not one of them.
Princess, she heard Nemus call her name through the link they shared. She wondered vaguely if Cian could hear the hound as well. Patience and Nemus were connected in such a way that if one wanted to get down to the technicalities, Nemus was an extension of Patience. The body that was fashioned for him to inhabit was created with a lock of Patience's hair, magicked in a way that he could feel her pain, her joy, her sorrow, as if it was his own. If Cian could speak with Patience, she wouldn't be surprised if he could speak with Nemus too.
Where are you? she asked her hound, searching frantically for the red-eared canine.
Almost there.
Get to Layla if you can, Patience ordered decisively, eyes targeting on the girl that had been her best friend since freshman year. She was still standing on top of her car, crying hysterically as the vehicle was being covered in vampires. It was like they were toying with her, reveling in the fear she was emitting.
I can't make any promises, Nemus said grudgingly. His duty was to Patience. Not to save a defenseless human. But he knew how important she was to the princess. She was hoard after all. He knew that if anything were to happen to Layla, Patience would be devastated.
Nemus was, in fact, almost there. He had cloaked himself with invisibility using one of the gems Patience infused with her glamour that was embedded in his collar. He didn't engage in any vampire he saw, evading the carnage as best he could. He didn't register the screams of humans, but felt the evil of tonight cling to him long after the battle was over. He had ran through the forest, feeling the connection he had with his mistress like a beacon, going so fast that his paws barely touched the earth. Like the night Patience and Cian met, he wished to be free of this physical body; he would have been by Patience in an instant. Now, as she commanded him, he came into the clearing on the other side of the fire, near Layla.
That was when it happened.
Layla's ankle was grabbed. The blonde screamed for the twins again, this time hysterical as she used the foot she was captured by to kick in the disgusting vampire's face. Tears were streaming down her face, body racked with sobs. Nemus knew that her death was seconds away. He couldn't save her like Patience wanted. So he turned away, ears pinned down in anger, as Layla's screams stopped.
With a bright flash of light, Imogene's summoning circle was complete. There stood in the center a four-legged beast with thick, dark green fur covering him from tip to tail. It had no eyes, but the large ears it brandished indicated that it didn't need sight to see. When it turned to 'look' at its summoner, Imogene spoke with authority, "I command you, from now until I release you."
Its call reminded Wade of Star Wars, when Obi Wan rode a varactyl in search of General Grievous on Utapau. He wasn't sure what it did, or what Imogene planned on doing with it, but he came close to his True One, mouth open as he felt the flames he summoned lick at the Dragon Spit that coated his innards. "I hope that means its willing to do that, Imo!" he said over the roar of chaos.
"It will. Since I summoned it, it has to listen to me." Imogene crossed the distance between her and the beast. It was large, about the average size of a draft horse. Its feet had digits perfect for climbing rough terrain, with a thick tail that had barbs hidden beneath its fur. She had summoned it to help destroy the vampires, but she was only able to summon one. And it looked like these things were coming out of the woodwork.
Patience wasn't paying attention to Layla after she told Nemus to rescue her. After she saved Imogene from the vampire sneaking up on her she turned to Seth, who had pulled a vial from his front pocket. The contents were a radioactive green, but Seth didn't seem to mind as he uncorked it and poured it on his hand. Patience, who had never seen him do anything like that, was blown away at how quickly that green liquid turned into a dark solid that traveled up Seth's arm.
Cian's words were what snapped her out of it, causing her to shake her head. The hearts, she echoed him, taking a deep breath to exhale more flames. She couldn't help but to feel a little more than satisfied when the vampires caught on fire. She relayed that information to Wade, who was helping Imogene get onto the green beast.
"Where'd you get that info from?" Wade demanded.
But before she could answer, the group stumbled at the force Cian used to create the chasm. Patience fell on her ass, breathless. Seth was on his side, the gray stuff traveling over his chest and up his neck. He shook his head once, then rushed to his feet to stand beside Patience as she got up herself.
The sternness in his voice gave her pause, but didn't have the strength within her to be offended like she would have at any other time. She was really too busy gaping at the chasm that Cian had created between her and most of the vampires. What the hell was he? She wondered briefly.
Then she was pulled roughly to the side by Seth, out of the way of Cian as he launched himself at Mikulas. Wade's truck was tossed in the air like leaf, landing tires-up as the windows shattered. Patience didn't hear Wade's "WHAT THE FUCK!" but knew without even looking at him that her twin was pissed.
Seth let go of Patience after she was out of the way, pivoting to grab the throat of a vampire that was too damn close for comfort. As soon as his hand wrapped around the vampire he threw it with super human strength into the chasm.
To say that Zander's presence startled her would be a lie. In fact, as the night continued she was starting to become less and less surprised. More and more numb. Between Seth's now-gray skin and Imogene's summon and Cian's god-like powers, she didn't think she could be any more surprised.
She understood the man's words too, even going so far as to agreeing that they should get out of there. But she found herself shaking her head. "I can't-" she started, fixing to say she couldn't leave without Nemus and Layla. Then Nemus came up to her, releasing the invisibility to butt his head against the small of her back.
"Go," Nemus said, pushing his mistress in the direction of Zander's retreating back. "Your Highness! Imogene! Come, we're leaving."

Serghei grunted, hand on the hilt of his blade as he and Lupe walked behind the females. He wasn't too happy with this, no, but knew that he would feel responsible if anything happened to them.
None of them were his Lifemates. However, he knew that they were someone's. Someone's light to the same darkness Serghei felt encroaching on him. Someone's salvation. So he went with the group to make sure that they were protected.
Serghei felt the disturbance as soon as Lacramiora did, the nonchalant look on his face hardening to that of protectiveness. He saw the vampires, too, but before he could react Lacramiora put up the thorny vine wall, hindering the vampires' access. He tasted the fear of the girls in the air, and knew that if he and Lupe didn't get them out of there fast the vampires wouldn't let that thorny wall stop them for long.

(let me know if I have to change anything)
Kagome was walking by herself outside of her properties protection spelled border. She was checking if anyone could see the pocketed space. Blare had recently strengthened the illusion to it, though Kagome still worried that someone would see into it. She wore a dark leather armor chest piece. It had a crest on the center of the chest piece painted a color that matched her eyes. The inside had sheep's wool, and the top was rimmed in some animal pelt.
The pants looked like leather as well they were black, the belt was thick with a buckle of silver of a wolf and its canines bared. Her katana and wakizashi held in the second loop of her belt. It was like it, was made for both the swords sheaths to fit snug. Four tab sticks with blood on them stuck out of her belt in front of that, it held magic since Blare had opted to sleep while she walked the line of magic. She wore her lip ring and tongue ring also, her lips blood red and pouty. Her left eyebrow had a thin section that did not grow hair from a scar. If anyone human saw it looked as if she was ready for a Renaissance festival or LARPing.
The only thing out of place in her outfit was the ear pods in her ears, the loudness coming out. It was shaggy- Boombastic. Her hips moved to the music sensual in nature was the rhythm. The live tattoo crept up along her face as she let out a sigh the heat of her breath puffed fog into the cool night air. So far this night she had rounded her property's shield twice. Finding nothing giving it away, she would jump down a little ledge of dirt. Aimlessly heading down into the creek.
"Mr. R-romantic..."She would shake her hips a little as she jumped down into the water as she danced along the bed of the creek. She was headed for the forest. Her mood was high this summer night it had a pep in her step. Her thoughts went to blare, who she knew, was curled up in bed. The witch Kagome ran dry during the blood exchange, her's deeply intimate in many ways. Blare always left exhausted, sweaty, and relaxed. It was a smell that hit her noise that drew her from her thoughts. She took one of her buds out of her ear, listening for a sound. It almost smelled like death but something twisted from that sickly sweet smell. It smelled like magical corruption but not at the same time.
She would head in the direction of the scent. It is so faint in the air she had to stop several times to catch the scent's direction. The wind did not help her pinpoint the location. When the smell became a little more potent, she decided to full run in that direction. It, however, was at a human-like speed. It was in case the hunter was in the region. Then upon hearing the shrill screams, she would switch to a more vampiric pace. The girl's scream harkened her faster to the deeper part of the woods. The smell was exploding in its putridness that she thought she would become ill.
Once she reached a depth, she saw a bonfire, with a chasm and overturned truck. Around that was full of something that reminded her of the infected back home. Yet these seemed more intelligent than just a mass of beings looking for flesh. Her boot came up, kicking the back of her sheath, the katana popping up she would draw quickly. The blade flipped out, and the edge of the blade was away from her body. She dipped low, running with her arms back as she let out hiss her fangs shone in the moonlight.
As she ran into the mass, her fingers gripped tightly to the hilt of the katana. She flicked her wrists spinning, her sword around, slicing up through a vampires crouch and up through him. The sound was unpleasant to mosts ears. But to her, it fevered her need as her eyes filtered in the Hot Crimson into her eyes. She saw too many to count along where she thought she heard the screaming that had suddenly stopped. She paused only to let out another loud hiss that turned into a rage-filled growl. Her other earbud still blasted music that switched to DevilDriver- Swinging the dead. Sheathing her katana after a quick clean she switched to her little. Leaping on one she would bite into its flesh drinking quickly. Her little shoving into his chest, piercing the heart several times. She would end it by beheading him.
She did not feel the parasite enter her body right away as her blood lust let her push through it. Cutting off the following the swarm in a direction towards their prey. She would let out another deep growl as she leveraged the little into someone's back pushing upward, displacing his heart through his shoulder. They seemed to fall rather quickly once the heart had been destroyed. Reaching up to her mouth, her fang biting down on her glove pulling it off. She would take the glove shoving it into her belt before she would pull a tab out snapping it in her hand. "Iustos ignis!" (Righteous fire!)
The tab turned to ash and floated away, the black inked pentagram on her hand turned white-hot as her hand shook. She let out a roar that turned into a shrill agonized filled one. The magic she closed her fingers around it holding it tightly. She twisted her body to cut through the swarm, jutting her hand out as she opened her fingers. The white-hot pentagram exploded with light. Like roman candles, sparks flew from their feet upward turn twenty into smoldering charcoal. When the pentagram matched the look of the vampires she would close her hand with force their bodies exploding like the firework. Her hand looked as if she had put it on an electric stovetop, with a pentagram for the heating part when she opened it.
Now all she had to deal with what was ahead. She could see retreating forms ahead of the group between them giving chase along towards the back of the shield. Her hand was not healing as it was the price of the seal of the demon. If she used magic a roundabout way she would have to heal like a human. Or someone else would have to do so for her. She was down to three more tabs and she was already regretting using a fire spell. She knew there was more swarming behind her but it left a gap for now.
She had expected more to go up in flame, it must be the seal limiting it. She was more focused on the ones in front of her to look back. Her little in her left hand wishing she had used that one instead to cast the magic. She would leap upon one in front of her, sinking her teeth into them. As she drank the second one dry, she felt ill, figuring it was her hand making her middle feel as if something squirmed inside. As she beheaded him using her hurt hand to rip out his heart-crushing it, black oozing mess covered her hand.
Black thick decade blood slowly ran down her chin and mouth, she was realizing now that it wasn't the pain in her hand. She would stumble a little retch up what she had drunk before wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. She pushed on as her ink began to retract from her face. She brought her arm up making her sharp fingernails dig into her hand to bring the pain forth. The ink returned to its place on her face and neck. Trindles would shoot out from her body, impaling the vampires through the heart. Her breathing was heavy as she wiped the little on her leather pants before sheathing it. The ink retracts more down her neck, going to her heart to protect it from the parasites within.
~*~
Sorinna with her friends was different than with her parents, where she often was rebellious, instead, she was the more reserved nerd with friends. She would return the air kiss and smile as she made her dress move a little as she walked with her hands. Lupe was about to suggest turning around and going home. He thought this was a daft idea. He looked to Sorinna, who seemed happy to be out. He felt nothing that even resembled joy. He would force them to go back to the first sign of trouble. For now, he had to just follow them, make sure they survived their outing.
Sorinna had once reached out bored touching the mind of a human. She had seen what a mall was, but it was not something she was interested in at all. Though a book store was right up her alley. " If this mall has a book store I am all for it. " She said with a smile," I could use an ink set too. " She mumbled to herself. Now her thought process clouded anything was said further as she calculated what she may need instead of wanting.
Sorinna shrieked loudly when the wall went up. She had not even heared her say, Vampire, she felt Lupe grip her shoulders. He would shove her in the direction of the girls fleeing." Get them out of here, Serghei!" he waved his hand in their direction. " I have this!" He was useing the time the wall was giving him to transform into his dragon form. Smoke poured out of his nostrils fogging him from sight as a red tail began to move from it.
It was brilliant red the scales on his body. The shift was moving out of the fog as a loud dragon's roar came forth as the horned body grew out. He would rip through the wall with a swipe, his giant clawed hand slammed down crushing one of the vampires. He did not see the point in being angry or upset. All he knew was that those girls were under his protection by their parents and that he would die to make them live. He knew that Serghei could handle anything that would come his way with the girls in his protection. Lupe was playing whack-a-mole with the vampires.
He would grab those trying to follow them, throwing them in the opposite direction. He refrained from using fire as it would burn the forest and not kill the vampires directly. Sorinna made to catch up with the girls and remain on their heels. She thought that the memories were of what had been not what was. Like a legend from times past. The look of the vampires had been just as frightening as the memories of them. She could not help the tears falling as she pushed through low tree branches.
