(( Decoii)) Armin remembered the sight of Annie walking away, having made a comment about how throwing food at her hurt her feelings. Armin had smiled at that when all he wanted to do was pull Annie back into the car and set off again. Go back to that hotel room. Back to the place where he had held her in his arms. Instead he had watched her go, once again seeing her walk away from him. Alone. Into the crowd that had been waiting for them. The crowd, which were comprised of his Packmates and the trusted Outsiders, and yet at that moment when Annie was walking solemnly towards them, for all Armin cared about, they could have been the enemy. He was gripping the steering wheel, his eyes gold in the rearview mirror, as Annie finally reached the pack of wolves. She hadn’t bothered to look back, her spine straight and set, letting them lead her deeper into the Pack. It was the last time he had seen Annie. It had been months from then, eventually Armin found out that she was gone. Kicked out or left, the information wasn’t clear-just that she was gone. Armin had requested some time off and surprisingly got it, straight from the Beta herself. He also had a file on Annie Leonhart that Ventia also gave him with a little knowing smile. It wasn’t much to work with but it was more than what Armin had. The file barely had anything on her life until Annie stepped foot into New Dawn, just her name, age, gender, and so on. It had progress reports from her training days, all the missions reports that she had participated in, almost no medical reports just the mandatory ones which showed how healthy Annie was, and some other tidbits of information. Just about the average information that could be accumulated in five years, not much to go on but all the same, Armin was thankful. He had holed himself up in his apartment, going over the files until he felt like his mind would burst. Armin had tried looking for anything that could help him but it all looked pretty standard. In the end, he was right back at the beginning. Which was the mission Annie had been in when he last saw her. The mission that had screwed up so badly that she had been the only survivor. Armin had asked Ventia if Annie had told them what had happened then and Ventia told him what Annie had told them. “She’s hiding something.” The older woman had said and then shrugged, as if she couldn’t be bothered to care. Armin however did care. He cared so much that it was eating at him. Armin had looked for Annie after hearing she had left the Pack but hadn’t found her-he still knew too little of Annie to guess where she would go. No, the mission was the only way to go. It didn’t take him long to find the trafficking spot but it wasn’t easy for Armin to get close. He was alone and it was heavily guarded, more so than what it had been before on Annie’s last mission. It took Armin weeks to get any kind of information and when he did, it was crumbs. Useless ones at that too. Armin was just about to give up, having spent more than two months out here, when he heard her name. Leonhart. Armin gritted his teeth, trying to move silently through the trees so he could listen more. But they hadn’t been talking about Annie, Armin realized. It was a man they were speaking about and the gears in Armin’s head started to click in place. Armin had stayed for another five months, getting deeper and deeper into the walls. Armin had started saving people from there at some point, once he figured out their motions. It wasn’t many but each time Armin escaped with a child, or man, or woman, he felt like he was accomplishing something. It began to get personal for Armin, each day he was forced to see the humans being treated like livestock-or worse nothing. He began to hate the organization that was behind this-this Marley. So each day, Armin vowed he would hurt them. Would take back all the innocents and get his answers on Annie as well. It wasn’t until Armin tried saving this girl, a slave to them, barely fifteen, who started to scream when he told her he would take her away to a safer place. Armin had been so confused but had moved into action, covering her screams with his hand and hiding into a dark corner. He was too deep in the building that if he were cornered right now? He would be caught. The girl was struggling, biting his hand, kicking at him, all while Armin was trying to find a way out-a way where he wouldn’t get captured. Without thinking so much, Armin twisted the girls head until it popped. It had happened so quick that Armin just stared down at her, slowly letting go of her lips, seeing if she would still scream. She didn’t. His blood went cold and Armin just realized what he had done. He heard voices coming from the other hallway and dropped the girl, she had blonde hair he realized and thought of Annie. Armin managed to escape but after that, something in him had changed. It wasn’t the first time he had killed, nor would it be the last. But it was the first time he had killed an innocent for his own survival. It messed with his head and Armin could hear her screams whenever he closed his eyes. He was more careful after that, not wanting to kill anyone he didn’t need to. Especially not innocents, which they were despite their actions. Armin eventually figured out that Marley was brainwashing them, inflicting pain, making them into the perfect soldiers. The longer someone was kept there, the more inclined they were to obey Marley. Because of this Armin found himself killing innocents more and more the deeper he went. Now their faces haunted him and it was all for naught. A hard punch against his cheek knocked Armin to the floor, the silver chains rattling as he fell. He didn’t reach the floor, instead he hung over just inches from it, the collar pressing hard against his throat-burning. They began kicking him, hard and at vulnerable spots, where he was forced to endure. The chains kept his arms apart and his legs? Armin didn’t want to think of his legs, he could tell that they were healing though but knew the men would just break them apart once again. How long had he been down here? About a day, he guessed, since they had finally caught their thief/murderer. They had been so happy too, beating him up for hours upon hours, letting different crews join in, until Armin lost consciousness only to be rudely woken awake once more by additional beatings. They were calming down now but Armin knew that tomorrow after a good nights rest, they’ll be right as rain. “Feel like talking now? Eh!” One man asked, grabbing Armin’s long hair and pulling it so that Armin could look into his eyes. Somewhat, it was hard to see with swollen eyes. Armin licked his lips, they were chapped, ripped, and bloodied. He grinned at the men, his eyes pure gold, his wolf going insane inside of him, wanting to get out. Armin spat the collected blood at the men, watching with satisfaction as it spewed in their faces. “Fuck off.” Was all he said and watched as a man pulled a silver knife from his belt. Cutting time, he amused, and clenched his teeth, waiting for the horrors to come.

Annie had left new dawn for pretty simple and selfish reasons. She had lied about what had happened to Marco and Jean, she told the truth about Gina's death minus the part that she was let go. But the funeral was nearing for her fallen comrades and Annie felt too dirty to stay. She had avoided Armin too, knowing that she couldn't find it in herself to feed him the lies she fed everyone else in the damn pack. Every time she had fallen asleep, she could hear him muttering her name through the blood in his mouth, begging her to stop. Every morning she woke up in tears and it was all too much to stay and pretend and be reminded of them every day. She felt too dirty sleeping in her shared room with Gina now that she was back and despite how much she scrubbed her body clean- she felt too dirty to stay.
So Annie made it back home, to her father, only to find him dead. She hadn't even made it to his body before she had been ambushed and carried away. Annie spent several months in a prison cell underground. "You had until summer, Leonhart, if you would have just listened your father and you would be taking a stroll in a field of flower and now he's simply rotting under one because his daughter had a mind of her own." Theo Magath had told her before he began to inject her with drugs, keeping her unbelievably fucked as he continued talking about Marley and everything they've done for her and her father.
The constant talking happened for months, until she was convinced that it was her fault, until she found herself begging for forgiveness from the people she had blamed for her failed mission. She had nothing to fight for anymore, Marley had her, and so she obeyed. Magath talked about the human trafficking's as if it was nothing more than a way to give help to those that needed it. It was a business, nothing more, nothing less, and those people they sold were devils with tainted blood that shouldn't even exist between humans and shifters. They all needed to atone for the sins of their ancestors, she needed to work to atone for the sins of her father.
Marley protected her, kept her secret from being known, kept her safe. Magath believed that the world would be after them in fear if the secret got out, but until then, he would work his hardest to make her strong so that she can fight for herself and for Marley. So that they could stand and take the place they deserved rather than rotting away in the place they had been currently given, as slaves and soldiers. As beings that had no living value.
She had been let go in the early months of summer. Annie knew it was a tease at the deadline she had been given and had failed to complete her mission by but she stood strong in her position. then, one night, not long after she had been let go, Annie was taken to a forest where she had been told that her time was up and she would be passing on her gifts to a new soldier. That night was the night that she gave up fighting.
Annie found herself running away form from the thirteen year old who hunted after her gleefully. She felt frustrated even though it made sense that she would be murdered this way, it was the way of Marley after all. To take the strong soldiers and feed them to the new generation who would be taking over. But something had happened and an alarm rung across the field, drawing both her and the thirteen year old back to the base.
"As it turns out Leonhart, we have something that you could help us with." Magath had told her, taking her to one of the prison bases. Annie followed without saying a word. "There is someone that's been taking what's ours away from us," He explained, "Someone that you can help us get talking."
Annie should have known that she was being led into a trap, he was acting too excited for his own good.
"I told you no cutting until I get my blood samples, you magot!" Magath yelled as they entered a prison cell. The guards in the cell backed away from Armin without hesitation, bowing lightly at Magath and glancing at Annie in confusion. But all Annie could do is glance at Armin and stare at Magath. No, No, No.
She had to be wrong as to who that guy in the chair was, she just had to be. But Armin's scent was imprinted into her permanently and Annie found herself filled with such a wave of fright that she couldn't even think straight. "What do you need me to do?" She asked in mock annoyance but forced herself not to flinch when her voice slightly waivered. She didn't think anyone caught on to it but kept her eyes glued on Magath.
"Now now Annie don't be so impatient, do you recognize this gentleman?" Magath asked as he made his way towards Armin, circling behind him.
"No." She quickly replied.
"You didn't even look." He said roughly, grabbing Armin by the hair and lifting his head up so that Annie could take a better look. "How about now." His words sounded deadly now, like he wasn't buying her bullshit. "Because a little birdie told me that they saw him leave with you from that hotel room months ago after you failed to complete your task." Magath grabbed the knife that had been held out to torture Armin, placing it roughly against his neck. "How about you sir?" He asks Armin now, "recognize this young lady friend of ours?"

Armin watched his handlers back up as a voice filled the room, they had already gotten a few slices in, his chest and arms bleeding from multiple cuts. Armin tried to focus on who had come in but only saw distant shapes. He closed his eyes, smelling Annie, and thought he was nearing his end if he was hallucinating Annie’s scent. But the scent was persistent and made Armin open his eyes once more.
He watched the men bow towards the new arrival and focused on him, Armin hadn’t seen the man before and forced his face to memory. He couldn’t help looking behind the man too, at the small blonde woman. Annie. His heart burned at the sight of her but he forced it to remain calm, dropping his head down once more.
She was alive, for that Armin was thankful, but he could tell that she was in bad shape. Faring worst than some of the people he had saved from this hellhole. Why had she come back? Here of all places? Armin wanted to shake her until he got all the answers but would settle as long as they both survived this.
He made no noise when the man pulled on his hair, just stared at Annie, as Armin listened to him speak. He wondered which hotel they had been seen in, wondering if Peter had sold him out. It didn’t matter anymore, it had happened.
Armin leaned his head back a little, feeling the knife digging into his throat. He laughed, low and slow, ignoring the pain in his ribs and stared into the strangers eyes.
“Fuck. You.” He repeated over dry lips, it had been the only thing he had said, over and over again. It would be the only thing coming out of his mouth until they decided to kill him.

Magath let out a whooping laugh, "Fuck you he says." Dramatically he dried his eyes with the back of his hands before pointing the knife nonchalantly at the male guards. "Anyone have a preference for men?" he asks casually, getting a laugh out of everyone except Armin and Annie. "No?" He glanced at Annie and sighed, "Very well then." Before bringing his knife back down to slash Armin's throat.
"Armin Arlert!" Annie finds herself blurting out in panic right before the knife met with her old comrades throat.
"Hm." Magath hummed before looking up at her. With a flick of his head, both of the male guards moved towards Annie to grab her.
Shrugging them off, Annie moved closer to Magath and Armin, but let the males grab her regardless. "I couldn't tell before, with his face all fucked up but I do recognize the voice." She flinched when one of her arms got grabbed on roughly and the guard decided to press himself against her. "Armin Arlert." She repeated, saying his age, rank and positions in the pack, his shifted form, and where he had come from. She kept her blue eyes on Magath, refusing to look at Armin as she basically gave him away to his captors. "He's smart, I'm pretty sure he's a genius if you went by human standards. He specializes in battle strategies." She lied about the last bit, Armin could, if he had tried rising in ranks instead of settling for odd jobs here and there.
"Arlert you say?" Magath contemplated, pulling Armin's head back so he can study his face, after a couple of long moments, he let out a laugh. "Well fuck me, if it isn't so. Let her go and give me a blood test." He demanded and the guards quickly followed instructions, running out of the cell to get him a needle and a piece of paper.
"Yes, sir." Annie said with a smile, rubbing her hands in front of herself as the guards returned and handed Magath the items he asked for.
Without hesitation, Magath dug the needle into Armin's neck, pulling blood and staining several spots on the sheet. He waited a couple of seconds before turning to Armin with a sly smile on his face. "Destiny is one hell of a thing, son. Welcome back to Marley, your father served us well and I expect nothing less from you, you hear me?"

Armin already disliked the stranger, unable to deny that he was a powerful threat, someone of position-probably the top man. He disliked him more with a knife to his throat. Armin found himself breathing hard, trying to get as much of Annie’s scent in his system before that knife came clashing down. He should have said something else, should have said anything to save his life but after all that Armin had gone through for the last ten months, Armin didn’t know if he deserved to live.
He gritted his teeth, thinking of Annie’s father and his dying wish. It was the only thing that Armin felt sorry about leaving behind, that and Annie herself. Armin didn’t want to die here, in this ugly cold place, no he wanted to survive and take Annie with him. Whether she ended up being with him or not, Armin wanted to take her away from this place.
During these last few months Armin had finally understood why Annie acted the way she did, this place...this place could do that to someone. Armin blocked out the men’s laughter and knew time was up. He sought Annie’s eyes and smiled at her just before the knife came down.
Armin shuddered, his muscles aching at how he tensed up suddenly, but the knife never came. Annie had saved his life by telling the man all he wanted to know. All while being roughly held on by the guards. Armin bit down on his lower lip, feeling useless and angry, as she went on about him.
When Magath mentioned Armin’s last name and pulled on his hair once more to look at Armin’s face, Armin glared at him, not liking the greedy shine that was suddenly shimmering in his eyes. As if he found something interesting. Armin didn’t understand what they were talking about, why Magath would want a blood test. But he was smart enough to stay quiet and wait to find out.
Armin closed his eyes at the needle, feeling more pain in that one stab than the scratches the guards had earlier given him and then opened his eyes to watch what they were doing. It was some sort of test and Armin could see his blood mixing into the different colors. Whatever it was, that greedy shine on Magath’s face only deepened.
“My father?” He croaked out, shock making his lips loose. Armin immediately shut his mouth, keeping his questions to himself. He couldn’t help glancing at Annie, to see if she knew about this but couldn’t see well enough to search her eyes.
Magath laughed at the dumb look of shock on the man’s face and gripped his hair once more. Leaning down, Magath’s smile was wide, “Didn’t know? Aww how sweet. Annie knew, didn’t you Annie?” Magath winked at the girl before walking away from the pair so he could sit on one of the chairs.
“Well what are you waiting for?” Magath raised an eyebrow at the guards, “Fucking drug the man, I want to see with my own eyes how he responds. Come Annie, sit next to me as we watch the show.” Magath patted the chair next to him and watched as the guards did his bidding.
Armin clenched his hands into fists and thought of his father. His father who was dead like the rest of his family. His father who sacrificed everything for them. Armin growled low, there was no way his father could be apart of this organization. His kind father would never... Armin closed his eyes, his head was beginning to pound as it always did when he thought too long about his dead family. Armin tried pushing past it, feeling like he was forgetting something important. He had almost had it when something stuck him and then flooded his veins.
Armin tried to struggle, some part of him knowing that this was dangerous. But the guards and chains held him down and Armin took his first dosage of the drug. At first, Armin didn’t feel anything so they did it again. Then again. And again. Until dosages later did Armin finally start to feel the crazed hunger that the drug brought on. It wasn’t enough to overpower him, for some reason his body had a tolerance for the drug, but it was definitely starting to work.
Especially when Armin noticed another large male surrounding Annie. Armin growled low, his vision zeroing in on Annie, his eyes bright blue, shining brighter than the gold. He glared at the two men on either side of her, both threats Armin felt he had to destroy.
“We going to do this all night ladies? Here I thought I was getting the special treatment.” Armin gritted his teeth, which had sharpened without Armin’s noticing. His stomach ached, the hunger filling him, and Armin thought it might be fun to tear the men in here apart and eat their bloody flesh. That is if he could get out of these chains. But then Armin thought of Annie and wondered if it was safer for him to be chained up. They were doing something to him, something that was making him crazy hungry even though it hadn’t been long since Armin’s last meal.
“Another.” Magath ordered and Armin watched as they prepared another dosage. He felt sick at the sight of it but was powerless to do anything about it.

Theo Magath was having the time of his life, Grinning as Armin was injected over and over again, yet instead of becoming weaker and weaker, he seemed to become stronger. "Your father," Magath began speaking somewhere after the third injection. "Your father also belonged to Marley, Isn't that right Annie?" He looked at the blonde girl who still stood in her spot, the guards being busy preparing the drugs into the thick needle, she still had yet to follow orders or be forced to follow them. "Annie?"
"Y-yes sir?" She questioned, startled. She hadn't been able to move since the moment Magath began to drug Armin, All she could do was look at the beaten blonde man as he growled and fought against whatever chemicals entered his system. She was sure he would die by the second dose, but after the third, she could see that it wasn't affecting him the way everyone in this room had predicted.
"I told you to sit next to me." Magath repeated sharply, causing one of the guards to pause and put down what he was working on. But before he could speak, Derek entered the cell with a curt smile and grabbed Annie roughly by her bindings, practically dragging her to her seat next to Magath. "Ah, Derek, It's nice of you to join us." Magath adds, smiling at the extremely tall buff male that entered the room.
Derek was huge, for lack of better words. In size, he was easily one foot taller than the tallest person in the room and just as buff. Brown buzzed hair, tan skin, rough in all definitions of the word. "It sounds like a party down here, how can I not? Besides, I heard Annie almost kicked the bucket yesterday and so I wanted to pay her a surprise visit before she did." His voice was loud, booming with sarcasm.
Magath sighed and nodded, turning back to Armin as he was injected once more. He stood and walked to the cart that had been brought in with his drugs, and grabbed a notepad and pen, making multiple notes as he examined Armin's blood pressure, heart beat, and alertness. Pausing, he glanced at Armin and realized that the boy was paying far too much attention to Annie and not enough attention to him. "Your father comes from Marley, Armin, I recognized his last name, in fact..." Magath hummed as he placed down his notepad and dug into the lower drawers of the cart, pulling out an older binder and opening it. He flipped through a couple of pages before stopping at one with a 'a-ha!' turning it to show Armin. "Recognize this writing? It belongs to your father. For short, Mr. Arlert was a scientist who was helping us work on this drug and from the looks of it, you helped him work on it too."
"That's how you and Annie know each other and yet, she didn't bring you back when she found you." Magath glanced at Annie, giving the binder to one of his helpers to put away. "It isn't your failed mission that makes you dispensable, my girl, it's this kind of behavior." He said with a shake of his head.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Annie said in confusion, before the pack she hadn't met Armin. She didn't know who he was or that he had ties to Marley.
"That's another in the veins because of a pretty little liar." Magath hisses, injecting Armin himself.
Annie felt panic begin to bubble up inside of her again. Her blue eyes falling towards Armin again and she realized he was staring at her, no, at the guard behind her. Frowning, she realized the shift in his face, the growth in his teeth. He was going to die if they didn't stop. Was Magath testing her? But she really knew nothing! "Please stop, you're going to kill him." She said softly, watching them prepare another shot. "Stop!" She said more strongly, standing up and attempting to move towards Magath and Armin.
A strong grip on her hair stopped her, tossing her back down into her seat. She struggled to get up again, terrified of Armin getting injected once again and feeling the need to stop this charade. She couldn't watch him die, she just couldn't.
Two strong hands moved down to hold her in place by grabbing on to her breasts roughly. At this, Annie yelped and struggled harder against Derek, gritting her teeth as she attempted to twist out of his grip and run towards Armin. But she couldn't move out of Derek's touch even as he started to squeeze and feel her up. "Stop!" She yelled loudly, not sure if it was directed at Magath or Derek's advances.
Magath had been amused at first, but the more Derek fucked around with Annie, the worst his mood seem to progress. "Can't you see that I'm working here?" He asked, not amused at the scene that was taking his attention. Typical Derek behavior, after all, the animal had a habit of raping his captive girls and even killing a few in his attacks, it wasn't good for business.
"Come on Magath," Derek laughed, grabbing Annie by the hair as he moved from behind her seat. "You promised me a pretty one that would last, didn't you? I'm just trying to have some fun." With those words, he yanked Annie out of her seat and dragged her towards the door as she fought to get out of his grip.
"Please don't kill him," Annie found herself begging because she couldn't do much else. "Please, whatever you do just don't hurt him!!"
"Interesting..." Was Magath's reply as she was dragged out of the room, kicking and screaming. "What's your relationship with her son?" He asked, frowning when he had to repeat himself because Annie was screaming loudly from the hallway for him to stop. Magath wasn't sure if it was directed at himself or Derek.
"I like fighters," Derek said with a laugh as he pressed against Annie, groping her tits and grabbing her by the core as he practically dragged her out of the cell area they had just been in. "In fact, I've wanted you for a long time." He slammed Annie against a nearby wall, out of view of the room, and tore her clothes, getting excited at the sound of ripping fabric. He could feel his erection hard in his pants and let go of the female so he could unbuckle his pants.
At the sound of zippers, Magath sighed again. "I said this is a work place not a play room and unless you want to switch with Armin that better not be happening here Derek!"
There was a pause and a chuckle and Derek grabbed Annie once again and started dragging her out the room as she struggled against him.
"Magath, I'm sorry!" She yelled out, trying to get free. "Magath! Magath I promise I didn't lie! Please don't hurt Arm-" Then the sound of a door closing and Annie's voice faint in the background.
"Hm, where were we?" Magath asked without missing a beat, grabbing the next loaded injection from the cart.

Armin’s body was starting to get hot, he could feel sweat building at his back as he was stuck again, he clenched his fingers, trying to struggle once more in the chair but the silver bars were thick and kept him stranded in his seat. Armin growled out in frustration, feeling another wave of hunger and fear spiraling through his body, and wondered what the fuck were they trying to accomplish.
His eyes searched for Annie who was still near him at that moment. She looked terrified, Armin gritted his teeth, and tried again, wanting that terrified look on her face to be gone. Only he couldn’t. He glared at Magath when he mentioned his father yet another time, feeling his anger building in the middle of his stomach, like a unending fire. Armin held on to it, feeling that if he lost his reasonings, everything would become shittier than it already was.
Armin could taste blood, fresh blood in his mouth, as Derek entered the room and grabbed Annie. He didn’t like the way the man looked at her, his swollen eyes beginning to heal already. Enough so Armin could see the lust and need in the other man’s eyes. He could taste the man’s slowly building excitement and Armin swallowed his blood, wishing it was Derek’s.
He didn’t even register he was injected again, just flicking his eyes from Derek, to Annie, and then to Magath who was fusing over him, then back to Annie who looked as helpless as Armin felt.
He growled at Magath, hating each time the man mentioned his dad, but turned at the aha sound. Armin found himself blinking even though the handwriting was in clear view. He stared at the neat slightly curved words and thought of his dad, in his chair, in the middle of the night, writing into a leather bound journal. Armin had sneaked up behind him, glanced over his shoulders, and watched as the smooth writing filled the page, seeing words he didn’t know the meaning to.
Armin snapped back to reality and raised his gaze to Magath who was still watching him expectedly. He opened his mouth to say something, anything, but nothing came out. Not even a slur. The handwriting, his dads handwriting here of all places, shook Armin to his core. Even the words coming out of Magath’s mouth was shocking to Armin. His mind pounded at the new information and he had flashbacks, quick and random, of his dad and Armin screaming.
“Lies.” He growled out, eyes flicking to Annie, Armin would have remembered her had he really been here as a child. But Armin’s memories of his childhood had always been foggy, just bits here and there, something Armin had chalked up to being orphan at such a young age.
He snapped his teeth at Magath at the sudden shot and wished the man would come closer for Armin to bite at him. Annie’s urgent pleading voice grabbed Armin’s attention and he went still, seeing Derek grabbing her by her hair, tossing her back on the seat and then putting his paws on her. Against her breasts. Squeezing her and feeling her up. Armin would kill him, slowly, he would enjoy it too. He wanted to threatened the man to leave her alone but felt it would only urge him on.
Armin could do nothing as Annie screamed for them to stop. He struggled and struggled for nothing, just burning himself more. Each time Annie screamed, Armin could hear his own in his mind, crying for his father to stop, that it hurt, to just stop.
But when Derek made it clear he wanted to have fun with Annie and was dragging her away, Armin felt desperation enter his body. Without warning, Armin howled, his vocal cords shifting into his wolf’s, and all the pain and anger he was feeling, the fear and hunger, crawled out of his throat and filled the room, chasing after Annie.
He snapped his eyes, which were filling up with angry gold, at Magath and snarled at him. She’s mine. Mine. Mine. His mind repeated over and over even as he listened to her struggles out in the hallway. “Isn’t she one of yours?” He spat blood at Magath’s direction and struggled again, hearing the zippers. He wanted to change into a wolf and go after the pair, until he took back was his, but Armin couldn’t shift in this chair, he would just be in a worst predicament.
“You treat yours like shit.” Armin closed his eyes to Annie’s last words, hoping she would fight Derek off, be the scary girl Armin knew and loved and fight until her last breath.
“We were just getting into our feelings doc.” Armin snapped his eyes open and glared at the drug.
“What are you people doing to me.”

Magath jumped slightly at the ferocity that was heard behind Armin's sudden deafening howl. realizing that what had gotten to him the most was not what was being said or happening to him but rather the treatment towards Annie. But he was finally talking and that was something Magath could work with. "It's clear now that you know next to nothing about this place, I was hopeful that you remembered and was coming back home."
He huffed and had a guard grab Armin's head so that he could measure the length of the growing canines, something that should have happened by the first injection. "Your family belonged to Marley for many many years. " Magath began talking, eyes fixated on the liquid in the injection. "He was the one that found out about the blood genes in human, and boy, did he help harvest that little discovery and turn it into a great part of what we are today." Magath went on, voice filled with pride.
"What we are injecting into you, is what your father worked on before his unfortunate disappearance. But seeing you here, it's clear he worked on you as one of the subjects and it's also clear that his death must have come from your pretty little teeth."
Magath paused, hearing banging and screaming on the other side of the door. Frustration bubbled inside of him at Derek's lack of discipline. He's gone over this plenty of times with the ape, do not touch his precious soldiers, do not rape his sold subjects. But Derek was far too invested in his own selfish needs and kept fucking things up for Marley over and over despite punishment. Derek must have known he would be punished for hurting Annie, she was one of Magath's soldiers after all. Despite the fact that she had almost been killed today, her number days would be lived out however Magath wanted them to be lived out as.
"I suspect Annie hasn't been a part of Marley for a very long time son. I also suspect that you truly know nothing about your past and that of your fathers. So this would have to wait until you're all caught up or I won't be finding much pleasure in it, besides... There's a little something that your dad left behind that I don't have on me at the moment but need you alive and well to be able to show you who your father really was."
Magath sighed and signaled for the guards to clean up the place and take care of Armin's wounds.
"But the fun part is that you now get to be all drugged up with only Annie to wonder about." He hummed, hearing Annie and Derek struggling outside. "Want me to bring her back so you can watch Derek's work first hand?" With a laugh Magath shook his head. "You really don't remember anything, son? This is going to be so much fun."
With that, Armin was left alone.
Magath reached into a closet and pulled out a small gun, holding it in his hands as he chuckled and hummed out an odd tune. He made his way up the stairs and opened the door that led outside, glancing over at Derek as he tried to get on top of Annie. The girl's hands had been bound behind herself, so all she could do is lay kicks at Derek in an attempt from having him get too close. Regardless of how hard she had kicked, Derek managed to take off her pants and had already worked on pulling his down to his knees.
Magath hated such childish games but let it continue a couple of more seconds, the door open, allowing Armin to hear Derek's perverted taunts and Annie's screams. When she saw Magath, a sob broke out of her throat. "What did you do to him!?" She yelled angrily. "Please let me-" Her yells died down when Derek grabbed her by the throat and squeezed roughly, making her face turn red instantaneously. Magath having been the destruction that Derek had needed in order to get over Annie.
He hadn't had much chance to do anything else because Magath chose that moment to shoot 3 shots into his back and one into Annie's neck. There was a loud thud of Derek's body falling on Annie, and finally her silence. "Take the bodies away." Magath instructed before closing the door, locking it and leaving Armin for the rest of the night.

“This will never be my home.” Armin snapped at him and kept snapping his teeth, hearing them grind against each other and trying to go for one of Magath’s fingers as he measured them, despite the guard digging his fingers into Armin’s temples to keep him steady. Armin felt disgusted at how they treated him like a test subject and vowed he would get his revenge on this group. That disgust only grew stronger as the man spoke.
Armin was forced to listen and tried to ignore what Magath was saying, thinking it was all lies, but the rational part of him thought it made sense. His father had been a scientist for what? Armin didn’t know. The little bit of memories he had were peaceful ones, they moved around a lot but they were happy. Armin used to have nightmares after he had been saved by New Dawn, nightmares of a place and his father injecting him with something, screaming that one day he’d understand.
Was this what he had meant? Armin heart ached, thinking of his father. He had always looked up to the man, wanting to be just as smart and brave as his dad, but finding out that he was a creator of the drug and a part of Marley was a hard blow to Armin’s respect for the man.
Magath was further confusing him, especially when he implied that Armin had killed his dad. Ridiculous Armin remembered how his dad died, they were...running from someone? Yes. He heard his mother’s screams and closed his eyes, his head was pounding so hard Armin wouldn’t be surprised if a vessel popped. Armin saw his father, his face white, as he was speaking to Armin. But Armin couldn’t hear the words, just saw his lips moving as he kept looking back, their time together ending.
Annie’s screams made Armin’s flashback vanish and he growled out, staring at the door where she had been taken away. Armin basically knew that what was happening, thinking of Derek’s greedy lustful gaze, and his anger spiked. Armin had to save Annie, he wanted to plead for Annie’s safety, wanted to tell Magath that he’d go along with whatever he want as long as Annie was safe. But as much as Armin wanted to say it, he couldn’t bring himself to say the words. It would only give the man more control over Armin. It wouldn’t only put Annie more in danger.
His words on Annie angered Armin though and he thought of everything Annie had done over the five years she was with New Dawn. Armin settled down, trying to relax, knowing that him growling and getting mad every two seconds would only help the drug on. He had to be calm. Armin breathed out slowly, still tasting Annie’s scent in the air and still hearing her struggling sounds from outside. “That’s funny.” Armin relaxed as the guards began to clean the wounds they had earlier inflected on. “For the last five years, she’s done nothing but try to follow your orders whatever the fuck they were.” He ignored the comment about his past and whatever his dad had left behind, not wanting to know truthfully. Whatever horrors his father had committed in his life were his own.
He glared at Magath at his tauntings and let the guards wrap the worst of the wounds, finally feeling some movement in his legs. Armin kept silent from then until Magath left, straining his ears so he could hear what was happening outside. He closed his eyes, clenching his teeth, as he listened to Annie’s screams. This was his doing. Because he had gotten caught. Armin forced himself to breathe through the rage that was red hot inside of him, feeling another syringe slid into his skin, the drug burning bringing a endless hunger along with it.
He heard the shots and told himself she was alive. They wouldn’t kill her. Not now. She could still be of use. Armin was left alone, a few guards on standby guarding him and injecting him every twenty minutes or so. It was a different torture of sorts of not knowing what was happening to Annie, it didn’t help that Armin had no one to vent his frustrations and only had himself. Himself and everything he had learned, everything Magath had said about his father.
Armin strained to remember his childhood, knowing he had been close earlier. But he had only gotten a glimpse and everything else was still dark and fuzzy. It didn’t help that Armin was getting hungrier by the minute.
Armin managed to fall asleep, where they continued to inject him, and found himself back in the nightmare that was his childhood.

The Leonhart family lived about a mile north of the Arlerts, a small patch of woods dividing both properties. It was just Annie and her father, living rather modestly and Annie found herself bored on most days if it wasn't for Armin Arlert, the little boy who lived on the other side of the woods. They've met during a party her father went to when she had only been three and since he lived close by, Armin became her only source of company aside from her dad.
"Dad, I'm leaving!" Annie yelled out, sitting on the porch and putting on her small brown boots.
"Are you sure the Arlert's said it was okay?" Her father called out, watching his 6 year old baby girl get ready to leave the house. Her blonde waves tied up in a ponytail, purple shirt hidden underneath a navy blue jacket and tucked into her dark colored jeans. "You seem excited to go hang out with that boy of theirs, is he your boyfriend or something?" he teased causing his daughter to scoff loudly and glare at him.
"That's gross." She said confidently before running off towards the path that led out of his property.
"Are they picking you up!?" He called in worry, realizing he never actually saw the Arlert's drive down the property to pick up Annie.
"Yes!" She called out, "I told him I'd wait by the mailbox"
With that, Mr. Leonhart shrugged and walked back into the house. He had no reason to believe that Annie would lie to him, but the six year old girl simply waited until she was at a bend in the path before cutting into the woods.
She always met Armin at his hiding place, a big oak tree in the middle of a clearing between their properties. She knew if she told her dad he would freak out, so instead, she often lied and said that his parents would be picking her up by the mailbox. Said mailbox being out of view from the house and since she came back on time always, her dad didn't have a reason to suspect otherwise.
Armin wasn't really the coolest boy she knew, but he was nice and always showed Annie new things.
It took Annie a little bit to get to their location, but once she got there, she circled around the tree and jumped out with a loud "Boo!" Frowning when the boy she was supposed to be trying to scare wasn't sitting in his usual spot.

Armin had been flipping through the big book on his comfy bed, his bright blue eyes were wide with delight as he stared at the two page picture of the sea. It was his favorite book, one he showed only to a few selected people, because everyone else would just laugh at him then continue to tease him until Armin could feel the bite of tears coming and would grab his book and run all the way home. Or to his secret place. He thought of Annie, the girl he shared it with and glanced out the window.
The sun was bright, the sky as blue as the ocean picture in his book, the wind rushing past his face through the open window. He blinking, feeling that he was late, Armin jumped out of bed, not wanting to be late.
But now that Armin didn’t have his nose in his book and was alert, he could hear his parents arguing loud enough that it traveled all the way up to his bedroom. Armin moved to open the door, hearing their words better, but not understanding.
His father sounded so mad and crazed that it scared Armin, his mother was pleading desperately with his father, their voices loud so very unlike them. Armin was used to his kind parents, who smiled and laughed and made Armin feel safe. This however was making Armin’s heartbeat race and he wanted to cry.
He had to runaway, Armin couldn’t listen to them fighting for another second. He grabbed his shoes, his book, and slowly made his way out of the window. Armin sat on the edge, quickly putting the sneakers on, his book under his arm, as he stared at the ground. Armin swallowed and slowly made his way down the roof to where a tree hanged nearby. It wasn’t his first time using the tree but each time Armin thought he would fall to his death. He really was a crybaby.
Armin managed to get onto the branch and down the tree after some time. His book had fallen and when Armin finally reached the ground, he hurried to make sure it was okay. It was. Armin smiled, the first time he had smiled since Armin had heard his parents fighting. Armin glanced at the house, still hearing the faint high pitches of their voices and then made a beeline for the trees.
Armin ran and ran, his breath coming out of him in little pants. Armin wasn’t much of a runner but felt like he needed to get away as soon as he could. He was fighting back tears, clenching the book to his chest as he finally reached the clearing. Armin stopped, bending over and breathing hard, the wind whipping around him, making his blonde hair go this way and that.
“Ahhhh!” Armin screamed out into the clearing, the white shirt he wore was smudge with dirt here and there, he had scraps on his knees which showed since he was wearing shorts and his eyes were basically watery with unshed tears.
Armin rubbed at his face, feeling a little better after his scream and glanced at the oak tree, seeing Annie. Armin looked away, embarrassed by his shout, his face hot and visibly red, but still slowly made his way over to her.

After her failed attempt to scare Armin, Annie circled the big oak tree a couple of times, frowning at the fact that her friend wasn't there yet. Armin was really the only outside contact Annie had. Other than her father, she really had no one. She didn't even know why she didn't have a mother, her dad would get upset whenever she mentioned Armin's mom and how she wanted to know where her mom was at. She could tell the subject hurt him and in order to avoid it, she only watched Armin's family in jealously the few times she'd met them.
Armin, however, he had more contact with people. Which made Annie feel sad when he wasn't there. Maybe he was hanging out with his other friends? The thought made her a bit angry, because to her, it wasn't fair. Still, she could remember the stories he told her about the other kids and they honestly sounded mean. They always made fun of him even though he never talked about them badly.
Annie couldn't understand why Armin was always so nice, looking at the good in everyone, if it was her, she'd probably kick them really hard.
The girl sat under the tree for sometime, looking up at the sky and enjoying the occasional funny looking cloud from her spot in the shade. She was totally dazed by the time Armin made it into the clearing with a scream. It had surprised her enough to make her jump and let out a high pitched yelp. Her attention snapping at Armin, eyes glancing at the red marks on his legs and then his red face.
Quickly, she got up and met him halfway. Her attention was mainly on his knees. He always wore shorts even though low bushes and branches always cut his skin. She told him once that he shouldn't wear those types of clothing. Even if it was hot, Annie had been taught to protect herself from the elements. Exposing little skin to the bugs that could eat at her or the branches and rocks that could nip at her. But Armin always wore shorts and so Annie always had a back pocket full of Band-Aids.
Sighing, she grabbed one Band-Aid from her pocket, seeing only one spot that had a bit of drying blood at the cut. She bent down and opened the pink butterflied decorated thing and placed it against his skin. "Here, this sticker should make you feel better." She said, straightening up and looking at a red faced Armin.
She had assumed that his face had been red with pain, but once she glanced him over, she could tell that wasn't the case. "Are you sad?" She asked in confusion, seeing the tears in his big bright eyes. With a frown, she leaned in to hug him. "Why are you sad? Did the boys say something mean again?"

Armin was breathing hard as he walked through the little wild flowers, hugging his book to his chest and trying to calm his racing heart. Despite the fact that Armin still wanted to cry over hearing his parents fighting, he couldn’t help but smile at the sight of Annie, who was the nicest person to him besides his parents. She met him halfway and Armin noticed she was frowning at his knees. Armin glanced down, saw he had gotten them scraped again and waited for Annie to finish. Armin didn’t really care for the boo boos but he liked getting attention from Annie and seeing what kind of bandage he would get next.
“Thanks.” He sniffed, the sight of the pink butterflies bringing a warm feeling in Armin’s heart. When Annie stood up and stared at him, Armin could feel his tears watering up again. He glanced away, trying to hold it all in, but when she asked if he was sad, Armin could feel the tears sliding down his red cheeks.
At her hug, Armin wrapped his arms around her, his book against her back and found himself crying into her neck. Annie was a bit taller than Armin and always made Armin feel safe. When she wasn’t teasing him. Armin closed his eyes against her and shook his head, answering her question without saying anything.
After a moment, Armin pulled away and wiped at his eyes. “My dad and mom were fighting.” He finally said and reached for her hand, cupping it and pulling her back towards the oak tree. Armin tugged on her hand to sit down with him and opened the book, not wanting to talk more about his parents.
Armin flipped to the page where the sea shone and showed it to Annie. She had seen it before but was always nice each time Armin showed it to her.
“I want to go here.” He said, showing her a toothy grin despite his eyes still clouded with his tears. “You should come with me, it’ll be fun!”
“Sorry I was late.” Armin added, as a afterthought.

Annie always felt saddened whenever Armin was sad. Maybe it was because hew was her only friend, but she never liked seeing him suffer. "Shh, shh" She said softly, rubbing his head as she hugged him tightly, allowing him to move away when he was ready. She didn't say anything when he said it was his parents fighting and she tended not to say anything when it was the bullies either. She couldn't no anything, after all. He was the only one she saw.
She smiled when he pulled them towards their tree, looking at the book with wide open eyes as he went to his favorite page. Looking at the two paged colored picture of the ocean, Annie couldn't ever imagine going somewhere so open and big, hell, the fact that someplace looked like that was kind of scary.
"I'll take you!" She squeaked out happily. "Daddy said the ocean is very big and very far from here... But when we grow up, we could do whatever we want." She said in a stubborn voice. Annie looked at the picture of the sky in the book, then cocked her head up to glance at the sky above them. Both skies clear, filled with light from the sun. "But it can't be that far... I'm sure we can follow the sun and get here." She said, pointing at the sun over head, then the sun in the picture.
Her father didn't want her in the woods, but Annie never thought it was a big deal. However, every time she looed at Armin's favorite book, she always wanted to explore new things and go to new places. At night she usually felt trapped in her room, disappointed even. "Armin," She called out randomly, looking at him with a pout. "Do you think you'll be my friend when we grow up? My dad doesn't have any friends... and I don't have a mom... Do you think it'll be like that for me too?"

Armin had his eyes closed and was listening to Annie’s heartbeat as she pet his head. It was relaxing and Armin really liked how he felt when he was in her arms. But he didn’t want to make things awkward, knowing that if the other kids saw him, they would tease Annie too. It was okay for them to tease Armin, he was a boy and could handle it-to a certain degree. But Annie was a girl and boys were supposed to protect girls. Armin wanted to keep her just as she was, funny and full of smiles, someone who put pretty bandaids on him, went on adventures with him, and gave him hugs.
Armin felt better as he walked hand in hand with Annie, watching the wild flowers dancing by their feet, the angry voices of his parents fading away. Armin wanted to stay here, at his secret place, holding Annie’s hand.
“You will?” Armin asked, feeling his heart race with excitement now, a feeling he was used to having with Annie. He glanced sideways at her and watched with wide eyes as she happily talked away. Armin felt his smile growing as he watched Annie and thought she sure was pretty. But then he wiggled his nose and glanced back down at the sky picture, feeling a bit shy.
“You don’t think it’s far? I think it’s far. It runs away all the time so quickly too.” Armin said, staring at the sun in the picture and then up at the sky much like he had seen Annie do. “But I don’t mind! We’ll be together right? It’ll be fun like it is right now.” Armin turned to face Annie and met her eyes, giving her a smile.
He watched her pout and his smile only widen. “That’s silly. Why wouldn’t I be your friend? Would you still be my friend after we grow up? Because I want to.” Armin frowned rd at the idea of them not being friends as they grew up. “No. I don’t like that, I don’t want to stop being your friend Annie. I know! Let’s make a promise to always be friends, that way when you grow up, you’ll always have me. And I’ll always have you.” Armin realized the words he just said sounded a lot like a confession and his face began to go red once more.
Armin rushed to continue, holding up his hand and extending his pinky. “I know I’m a crybaby but if you’re okay with it...let’s pinky promise." he hesitated and Armin peeked a look in Annie’s direction, waiting for her response.
