"At least my 'boyfriends' aren't acting like a bunch of thirsty sluts pressing up against me at each chance they get!!" She snapped at Armin, fuming at the fact that they still had the balls to touch him. As they left, even though she nodded at Armin, she was still pissed off. Bertholdt blocked her view, Reiner was literally shaking in anger, and Annie took off one of her shoes and threw it at the stupid blonde who still hung on to him. Bertholdt managed to hit the shoe in the air, making it go flying over Historia's head and hit the wall in front of them.
"Annie." He said gently, making Annie frown up at him in his tone. She was vaguely aware of the pain on his face, her focus too much on Armin to care about Bertholdt at the moment.
"You won't understand and I can't really explain it to you." She said softly, frowning at the guys. "Things... I just ran away from him, before I met you guys, he-I- things are complicated and I need you guys to give me space, please?"
"You're literally talking shit about the girls acting like whores but look at you! Throwing yourself at him whenever he shows up. Annie your fucked up, you don't even act like this. Nowhere close to this, are you really going to ask us to back up when you aren't being yourself!?" Reiner was yelling loudly at her, stomping towards her to grab her but being held back by Bertholdt.
Bertholdt sighed, struggling against Reiner's anger. "Annie... Can't we just go back to being normal? You've been without him for how many months? You're happy with us, right? Can you just stay with us?" She knew what he was asking. He was asking her to stay with him. He had never brought up their past, hushing Reiner when he mentioned it, but it was crystal clear to everyone that he liked Annie.
All of a sudden, it was clear to her why Armin was so mad. He was Bertholdt fucking Hoover, the ex boyfriend Annie had once casually mentioned to him. She rubbed her face, it made sense now. He probably thought she went to him after leaving Armin. She groaned. "Bert, I'll stay, I'll sober up. I'll talk to Armin and then I'll come back and explain things to you guys. I just... I can't right now when I don't even know what to say."
"Please... Annie. You're better than this, you're better than him."
"You don't even know him!" She snapped defensively. "Do you still have that card from the hotel we're staying at?"
Bertholdt nodded, handing her the card. It was a simple business card with their hotel room number written on it. He had nothing else to say. "Fuck both of you, dude." Reiner snapped, grabbing an empty cup and starting to pour himself a drink instead. He frowned, deciding to take the whole bottle with him. "I'm actually not going to let this shit ruin the party." He snapped, bumping into Annie rudely as he walked away.
"This shit is fucking with my high." Annie mumbled at Bertholdt.
"Let's go sit?"
She nodded, and once again, she went to go sit on the couch that was in the most quiet place of the house. Dividing the party from the kitchen area. Bertholdt went to fetch her shoe and she curled up, resting her head against the couch. Her eyes still glued to all the moving lights despite the fact that she felt bitter thinking about Armin with his two little side pieces. Eventually, she started dozing off, card still in her hands as she waited for Armin. Some time passed and Bertholdt stood up with a sigh, realizing she wasn't going to talk to him even if he begged. So he went to Reiner, to make sure the guy wasn't starting any shit, leaving Annie alone on the couch, sleeping.

“Aren’t they?” Armin growled back even as the girls kept pushing him forward, out towards the porch and hopefully back into the car. Armin allowed them to lead him outside but dug in his heels when they tried going down the steps.
“I said no!” Armin growled at them and Ymir threw her hands up in annoyance.
“What’s your problem?” Ymir folded her arms against her chest, glaring up at the man who had become such a important person in her life. She cared for Armin, wanted only the best for him, and felt like Historia and herself were just that.
“Yeah? Armin who was that?” Historia still clung on to his arm, wrapping one arm around his and the other clutching to his bottom shirt, her voice had soften and there was pain hiding in her blue gaze now.
“I have no problem.” Armin forced himself to relax, put his cup down on the porch and had to grip Historia’s hands and peel her off of him. Once he was finally free, Armin reached for his cup again and took a long swallow, drinking half its contents in one go. He wiped at his lips and stared through the glass doors to see if he could see Annie from the porch. He couldn’t.
Armin dragged his gaze towards the pair of them and sighed. “Look, I don’t see why I need to explain myself but for the sake of our friendship I will. That’s my girl in there. My ex. The one I destroyed Marley for. We have history as you can see and I’m not ready to let her go. I can’t. I’ve tried for these past few months without success and honestly I’m just sick and tired of not being next to her anymore.” Armin reached for her ring, gripping it and rubbing the metal even as his eyes were drawing back towards the house.
“You’re not serious about right now right?” Historia took a step towards him, blocking his view of the household and wishing she had never brought him to this party. Wishing she had never brought him back to that woman.
Armin narrowed his gaze at Historia, he knew the girl had liked him, the Beast reminding Armin every chance he got, but enough was enough. Armin didn’t know how much more clearer he could be. “I’m being very real Historia. There’s no one else for me but Annie. I’m sorry but you and Ymir could never take her place...could never fill the hole inside of me that she left.” Armin finished his drink, crushing the plastic in his hand and throwing it on the floor. Not caring that he had littered. Armin went to move towards her, so that he could get into the house but Historia pressed herself back into the door, blocking him.
“Shouldn’t that tell you everything you need to know?” Historia didn’t care that she was grasping at straws. Feeling that if she let Armin go back inside right now, that he would be lost to her. “She hurt you. It all makes sense now, the pain in your beautiful eyes, it wasn’t because of Marley like the rest of us, it was because of her!” Historia bit her lip, feeling the urge to cry. “Even now she’s just bringing you more pain. Those boys of hers? Don’t you see how possessive they were of her? Don’t you think she has something going on with them? Defending them? Choosing them over you? Armin I would never choose anyone over you. Just you and Ymir. Just the three of us. Please let us try, you’ve never let us really tried! We can help you, I can help you. If you just let me, let Ymir, we can love you more than she can. Heal you Armin. Take away that deep pain in your eyes, the hole inside of you, and fill you up with our love. Right Ymir?” Historia tore her pleading eyes away from Armin’s beautiful and angry face to stare at Ymir’s. Searching her grey gaze and smiling at what she saw. Bringing her gaze back to Armin’s.
Armin shook his head, staring at Historia with sad eyes, now that she had said it all aloud, Armin couldn’t see how he could stay friends with them. “I don’t want you. I don’t want Ymir. I’m sorry. The only one I want is back in there, probably hating me at this very moment. But I don’t care anymore, I know what we had-what we have is still here. You guys are the closest things I have to real friends again, I don’t want to lose either of you, but I won’t lose Annie. Not again. Not anymore. So leave or stay, I don’t care Historia. But get out of my way before I start to regret what I might do.” Armin held his breath, waiting for Historia to move. Seeing the tears now bubbling over and down her cheeks.
The slap from Ymir came so suddenly that Armin reared back, feeling his cheek stinging at the strength behind her blow. She grabbed Historia next, pushing the woman into her arms and hugging her, glaring over her shoulder at Armin. “Just go then. But don’t come crawling to us when she breaks your heart yet again.” Then Ymir ignored Armin, shushing Historia and wiping at her tears. Telling her it would be okay. That Ymir would never leave her.
Armin stared at them for a second before pushing past them, entering the house again and going back to the room where he had last seen Annie. He spotted her instantly this time and was happy that she was alone. None of her boys in sight. Armin made a quick stop at the kitchen again, grabbing his bottle and making his way towards Annie, sitting down next to her and stretching out his legs.
Armin felt tired and brought the bottle to his lips, drinking the dark liquor and turning his head on the back of the couch to stare down at Annie. Not wanting to wake her just yet. Content in just being close to her and watching her face as she slept. Armin felt like he was transported back to Paradis. When Annie had fallen asleep on his shoulder and Armin had drank the night away, convincing himself that he was no good for her.
What a idiot he had been. He shouldn’t have gave her up so easily. Armin should have fought for her. Armin would fight for her, he vowed, bringing the bottle back up and taking a few greedy gulps. Seeing it all so clearly now, seeing exactly what he had to do.

Annie hadn't noticed she fell asleep until she woke up with a groan. Covering her face, ears now sensitive from her earlier stimulations. She shifted, feeling the tension in her body and placing her legs on the floor to put on her shoes. It was then, as she stuffed her feet into her own shoes, that she noticed another pair next to her, attached to legs, to a torso, then, noticed it was Armin. Smiling again, she straightened up. "Hey, baby." She said a bit too casually, groaning and grabbing the side of her head as it suddenly throbbed.
He had an almost empty bottle in his hands and so she simply took it, finishing it, before turning her attention to him with a small blush on her face. "Rough night?"
She laughed, leaning back on the rough cushions before moving to lean against his shoulder. Stopping only because she could smell Historia on his clothes. With a sigh, she pressed herself back on the couch. "Are your girlfriends mad at you?"
She could still faintly feel the effect of the drug through her system and the heaviness of the alcohol in her stomach. She hated the feeling. "Look, I don't actually... You know, do drugs." She said sheepishly. "I just... I was upset and for some stupid reason I took those pill and thought to myself: "Armin followed me but never showed himself until I did coke in that bar. Maybe if I take this he'll come back to me?" and just like magic, there you were... Looking hot as shit but with someone else, belonging to someone else." She let out a huff and a shake of her head.
Toying with the card in her hand, she reached out to give it to Armin. "Look, there's no point in talking right now. I'll just be mad and swerve off on you and your girlfriends, or whores, or whatever they are. Heh, the blonde one is kinda cute right? Totally your type." She didn't mention that she was the beast's type of girl. She was jealous really, even at that. She never wondered what type of girl Armin was into... Maybe the angry goblin looking bitch that was called Ymir? Historia being bonus points for the beast. She didn't even care to wonder about the wolves' type. He was so old if he still got off to something it would kind of be gross.
"My high is crashing." She added with a large yawn. "People are leaving but that's where we're staying tonight. I was honest when I said that I'd sober up and still want to talk to you, alright? Just... Talk about how life has been and shit I don't know but don't just leave on me this time." she paused, squinting as she took out her phone from her pocket. Rubbing her tired eyes, she went through her apps and set an alarm at eight in the morning, turning her phone to show it to Armin.
"You can make up your mind later. But how about at nine you pick me up? There's supposed to be this rooftop cafe there in the hotel. We can just drink some non alcoholic drinks and chat, no strings attached... Please? I'll be there, already setting my alarm so I won't be late." She added with a chuckle, setting two back up alarms just in case. "Before you get mad, if it even matters, I have my own bed." She was slightly slurring her words, eyes struggling to stay open. Still, she was grinning at Armin, happy he came back.

Armin saw the exact moment Annie woke up and he straightened, bringing another swallow to his mouth and waiting for her to realize it was him. Armin raised his eyes, silently greeting her back and watched as Annie moved about. Her movements groggily and the mentioning of the drugs again only made Armin’s cheek twitch in anger but he suppressed it down, listening to Annie’s stupid reasoning and accepting it.
Armin took the paper, glanced at it and nodded. Fine. Armin stood up, he had been in a semi okay mood this whole time but for some reason everything Annie was saying was rubbing him the wrong way. Armin didn’t want to let that fuck with his plans though, taking into account the day she had-the after affects of whatever drug she had taken this time, and the whole situation.
“Okay.” Armin stuffed the card into his pocket and stared at Annie, worry seeping into his gaze now at the sight of her. He knew the boys were still around, having pass by him a few times to get to the kitchen-to the drinks. Armin was amazed he hadn’t started a fight with them while Annie slept, but knew she wouldn’t be happy with him if he did. So he stayed put. Content to just be the one around her. Daring them with his eyes to try something. To take her away from him again. If they had, all bets would have been off. But it seemed one of them was smart, annoyingly.
“I guess you’re leaving with them.” Armin’s voice didn’t hide his distaste of the matter but then neither did Annie’s with the girls. Which Armin assumed their friendship was done already because of him.
“I wanted to bring you home but I guess not. Alright Annie, I’ll be there tomorrow. You can count on it. Have a good night, yeah? Take care of yourself please.” Armin kept his hands to himself, gripping on to his pockets and staring down at her. Armin wanted to kiss her and so he bent down, brushing his lips briefly against her forehead.
“Be a good girl for me.” Armin whispered against her hair before moving back. Glancing around him and already seeing they had company. Or well she did. Armin nodded to them.
“She’s ready.” Armin told them and gave Annie one last look before walking past her and into the dark night, choosing to walk the hour or so home because he knew the girls had left already and Armin really needed the time alone to think.

Annie hadn't been able to listen to what Armin was saying. She was trying, she really was, but the more he talked, the more she dozed off and she couldn't remember anything at all, not even how she got back to the hotel room. "I really love you, Armin." Was about the last thing she managed to say to him.
Sometime during the night, Reiner was showering. Leaving Bertholdt to tend to a sleeping Annie. Carefully, he took off her shoes and sat on the edge of the bed. Watching the girl who he had feelings for as she slept. He didn't know how much time had passed, but eventually with a sigh, he stood up and put the blankets on her. Without thinking, he leaned closer to her face, studying how soft and gentle she looked. A complete difference to how she normally was. With a soft sigh, he leaned down, about to capture her lips with his when Reiner pulled him away harshly.
"Don't." He snapped lowly, towel wrapped around his midsection as he dripped water everywhere.
Bertholdt flushed, trying to stutter out an excuse but coming out empty. With a rub of his face, he moved quickly to his bed, tossing himself on it. "Why did he have to come back?" He asked, speaking into the pillow.
"I don't know, dude." Reiner said in a much more softer tone, feeling sorry for his friend. "But kissing Annie while she sleeps isn't going to go in your favor either." He ended the conversation there and worked silently on dressing himself.
Annie's alarm rang in her pocket some hours later and with a groan, she sat up, turning it off and laying back down. She had almost forgotten about asking Armin to meet her in the morning and only remembered by her third alarm. By then, she was almost running late. Jumping out of bed, she quickly showered and dressed. Frowning at the simplicity of her outfit even though it felt revealing. It was nothing as fancy as what Armin's girlfriend wore. She worked quick, ignoring the throbbing in her head. she didn't have any makeup or anything else extra to do to herself, although after last night, she wished she did.
Instead, Annie used her last couple of minutes to mess with her hair. Letting it down, putting it in a high ponytail, in a braid.. Frustrated with how wrong everything looked and how hard she was working on impressing Armin, she angrily just tied it back in it's usual messy bun, bangs as usual. With five minutes to go, she exited the room quietly, seeing as how the guys still slept.
she sighed, rubbing her hands across her shirt while walking towards the elevator. She didn't remember where she told Armin to meet her, but seeing as he wasn't at her door, she figured she'd go down to the lobby? Or was he already at the cafe? With a huff, she called the elevator.

By the time Armin reached his apartment, he was sweaty and tired and just wanted to crash on his bed. But as he fumbled with the keys, the door next to his creaked open and Armin glanced up to see a red eyed Historia, dressed in a long white shirt with her hair messy. Armin could smell Ymir on her and his nose flinched. Once again being reminded of the nature of the two women’s relationship.
“Hey.” Armin greeted her gently and a bit hesitantly, not knowing where he stood with the two girls anymore.
“Hi.” Historia glanced down the hall expecting to see his ex but there was only Armin. It should have made her feel better but it didn’t. Knowing that he would only keep going back to her and keep breaking his heart and hers for that matter. “You walked home?”
Armin nodded, sliding his key finally into his lock. “Needed to clear my head. Historia im sorry for snapping at you and Ymir back there but-“
“Please Armin,” Historia held up a hand, stopping him from saying anything more. “You don’t need to apologize, I get it. We were...we were sticking our nose in where we didn’t belong. I just don’t want to see you get hurt anymore. You mean a lot to us, you know? You saved us and took care of us and Marley is no more because of you...then you helped us get jobs and this apartment and I know you’re still in touch with everyone else too...Armin you’re amazing you know that? Like really amazing, there’s no one like you and I know it’s none of my business but does she see that?” Historia gave him a weak smile and pushed back her hair, tucking it behind her ear.
Armin didnt know what to say, well he knew what he wanted to say. That he wasn’t as great as Historia was making him seem but then was that right either? Everything she was saying was true, Armin just felt like it wasn’t. Like he did all those things for his own benefit. Killed Marley off because he couldn’t control his rage. Helped all the victims because Armin didn’t want that guilt nagging at him.
Armin sighed, leaning against his door, and returned Historia’s smile. “She does Historia, at least I hope she still does.”
Historia sniffed and then nodded, “Okay well then I wish you the best. And don’t worry about what Ymir said back there, we’ll always be your friends Armin. Our door will always be open for you. So don’t be a stranger?” Historia felt her heart shattering and tried to hold back the new set of tears.
Armin could smell her fresh pain and bit the inside of his cheek but nodded. “I won’t, you two stay safe okay? Call me if you ever need me. I’m going to go now okay? I’m dead tired.” Armin gave her another smile, and then opened his door.
“Good night Armin.” She said quickly, her voice filled with sadness. Wondering why it felt like Historia was saying goodbye.
“Good night Historia.” Armin felt it too but didn’t say anything, closing the door behind him and staring at the dark room in front of him. He would always be there for them if they needed him, that was true. But Armin wouldn’t jeopardize this chance with Annie because of the girls. Armin hoped Annie felt the same way with the boys. Because if not, why would Armin have to sacrifice his friendship then?
Armin sighed, dropping his keys and wallet down by the table and walking further into the room, not minding the darkness that wrapped itself around him. Using the soft moonlight to make his way to his bedroom, stripping himself out of his clothes and shoes until Armin laid on his bed in nothing but his boxers. Armin stared up at the ceiling, his fingers coming to his chest, blindly searching for the ring attached to his chain and finding it against his neck. Armin mindlessly played with it, glancing out at the window towards the dark sky, feeling his Titans upset at the back of his mind.
“What?” Armin snapped tiredly at them, still watching the sky, still playing with Annie’s ring. But Armin didn’t get any responses, just the feeling that they didn’t approve of Armin’s decisions. Armin let out a breath and closed his eyes, bringing the covers up and holding on to the warm metal as Armin finally fell asleep, the first time in days.
He woke early, getting only a few hours in, but it was enough for Armin after days of little to none sleep. Matter of fact, Armin felt energized and was going to his shower with a small smile on his lips. But before he did, Armin paused at the sight of himself in the mirror. At his hair and beard. Armin rubbed his jaw, seeing dark blonde scuff and grabbed his razor. Armin made quick work of it and then stared at himself again. It wasn’t right, for a fresh start. Armin got his scissors next and took the next twenty minutes or so fussing with his hair until Armin was satisfied. Armin grinned at himself and finally went into the shower. This time he did use the green little bottle and worked it into his skin, wondering if Annie could tell.
By the time Armin was dried and about to dress, his alarm went off letting him know he had only a hour till nine o’clock. Armin put on another pair of black jeans, one that had a chain on it. Then his white sneakers. A white t-shirt and grabbed a blue jean jacket to throw over as well. Armin messed with his hair a bit more, feeling the bangs getting into his eyes a bit more. Armin shifted it a bit, grabbed his keys, phone and wallet, and glanced at his room, wondering if he missed anything.
Armin left, not knowing what he felt like he was forgetting, and had reached the elevator till he remembered. Armin jogged back, entering his room again and searching for the pants he wore yesterday. Finding it, Armin dug into its pocket and took the piece of paper. He had remembered everything but what if they didn’t let him up without it?
Locking his door and taking the stairs by twos, Armin finally got into his car and was on his way. Stopping briefly at a shop and then hauling ass to the hotel. He wasn’t as early as he liked to be. Armin parked and avoided the calls coming from the front desk as he hurried to the elevators. Taking one and pressing the floor that Annie had written. His heart was going a mile a minute by now and nerves was making his palms sweaty. Armin forced himself to breath calmly, staring down at the bouquet of blue flowers and wondering if it was too much. But Armin didn’t think so and hoped Annie would at least find it cute-
The elevator door open and Armin paused, seeing Annie standing before him dressed in a revealing top and skinny jeans that did nothing but reveal every curve of her legs. The straps of her shirt revealing more skin and cleavage than Armin had seen in a long long time. Armin swallowed, throwing his hand out to stop the elevator door from closing.
“Hey Annie,” Armin said breathlessly and moved back to the side to let her in. “You look...good...” Armin licked his lips and remembered the flowers. “These are for you..” Armin held out the flowers slightly but still giving her room to enter the elevator with him.

As Annie waited for the elevator to climb up to her floor, she was starting to get nervous. Would she seem too nervous if she waited in the lobby? Too uninterested if she waited by her front door? Too nervous if she waited on the top floor next to the elevator? And what if he decided he wouldn't show? She had been high as hell, but she was clenching tight to the memories of both the bar and the house party. How she'd been too much, way too much, and they both stumbled over each other with words and promises pouring out of their mouths like vomit.
God, he probably thought the worst of her. With all the drugs, with knowing she slept in the same bed as those two idiots, would she even be able to redeem herself? To not fuck this up and give him a good explanation and the apology she knew he deserved. The apology that his titans deserved too. Or would she just end up fucking everything up again? Like she's done in the past. Annie wasn't insecure, but she felt like nothing compared to those leeches he hung on to the other night.
Sighing, she rubbed her hands on the front of her pants, hating how clampy they felt. She'd honestly been so deep in her thoughts that she hadn't noticed the elevator open until he spoke to her. Her head snapped up, eyes widening a bit as she looked up at him and bit her lower lip. He made it, Armin actually made it and seeing him now, sober, after all this time was driving her heart to speed up at an uneven and frantic pace. "H-Hi." Her voice was shaky and a bit high pitched to what range it normally fell on and she cleared her throat.
"T-Thanks." She managed to mumble before stepping into the elevator, cheeks pink at the compliment, eyes darting down to watch his tongue swipe across his mouth. She wished, really wished, that she could die and be reborn as that damn tongue. She paused while passing him, blinking and tilting her head as she leaned closer, smelling him. She let out a chuckle but didn't say anything, he wouldn't, right? The smell was so soft, but there was a hint of cucumber across his skin that drove her memories right back to the one time they took a shower together.
She was acting like a pervert. A nervous creepy pervert the more she stared at him.
She reached out for the flowers, blush beepening as she studied the shade of blue. "They're beautiful Armin, they look like your eyes." She said softly, holding them close and smiling. "Thank you... For the flowers and for coming. It means a lot." She said honestly, studying him. "You look really handsome today, the jacket suits you well and you smell nice." She threw the last bit out there, just for the hell of it. Was he using her body wash from Paradis or was she thinking too much? It's been nine months since they last saw each other, he still wouldn't have it right?
She glanced at the elevator, wondering why the doors closed but it hadn't moved. She'd been staring at Armin for a couple of minutes now and let out a shaky chuckle when she noticed that they hadn't pressed the button for the rooftop. She reached forward, pressing the button before looking back at Armin. "You also freshened up, I like the cut." she was babbling too much, felt too warm, and was the first to leave the elevator when it came to a stop.
There was a lady behind a table and she quickly approached them. "Table for two?"
Annie nodded as the lady turned around. "It's pretty empty today, go ahead and sit where you please someone will be there with you shortly." She said nicely, reaching out for Annie's flowers. "I could get those in water for you and bring them to your table." She offered and with a nod, Annie reluctantly handed them over before pointing out across the lounge. "Does over there seem good for you?" She pointed to a table by the corner, overlooking the town but still sitting underneath some shade so that the sun wouldn't be pressing down on them. She waited for Armin to guide her though, not wanting to force him to sit there if he saw some better place.

“Hey..” Armin repeated again, feeling like his heart was in his throat at finally being next to Annie again. He could tell she was sobered up, her eyes clear and pupils normal, her scent fresh and her own. Armin had been afraid that she wouldn’t have come out today, that he would have to barge into the room and deal with the boys just to get to her. But Annie was here, standing in front of him and blushing. Armin felt like it was a dream.
“Did you sleep good? How’s your head?” Armin rushed out, as the doors closed and stared at the sight of her holding the flowers. She was so beautiful that it hurt Armin, hurt him that he couldn’t pull her into his embrace or run away with her and go into their own little world. None of her boys hanging about and none of his girls in the picture. Just Armin and Annie. The way it was supposed to be.
Armin smiled though at her words and leaned against the elevator wall, “I think they remind me of yours. Thank you for meeting me Annie, I didn’t know if you would have remembered. But I’m happy you did.” Armin rubbed at his neck, the ends of his hair brushing against his knuckles. The nervousness still claimed him, rocketed his heart faster, the extra clothes on him making Armin feel hotter now that he was in front of Annie.
But her comment about how good he looked made Armin stubbornly keep the jacket on, and beam wider at her last comment. “Well you do have good taste.” Armin bit his lower lip, not at all hiding that it was indeed her body wash, and touching his shorter hair.
“I did promise you a haircut. Late I know, but I’m a man of my word.” Armin followed her out to the roof, taking a moment to stare at the restaurant. It was so bright, fresh air blowing gently against him, the blue seats instantly putting him at ease. Armin hurried to Annie’s side, smiling at the woman and nodding at Annie.
“That’s perfect love.” Armin bit the inside of his cheek, the endearing name slipping from his lips naturally but Armin didn’t let that falter him. He pressed a hesitate hand at her lower back and gently pushed Annie forward, walking by her side towards the table she pointed out and holding out her chair for her.
“Thank you again for seeing me today...” Armin said, her scent teasing him, the sight of her body doing the same and as Annie sat down, Armin stared down at her, his eyes drifting from her wonderful eyes to her shirt. Armin groaned softly at what he saw and hurried to the other side of the table, keeping his back away from the majority of the restaurant and having a clear view of the whole room. Just in case.
Armin pressed his still sweaty hands against his jeans and clenched at the fabric, his eyes searching Annie’s that seemed so much brighter in the new setting. Armin parted his lips and then closed them, his eyes greedily taking Annie in.
“Well...er...how have you been?” Armin ended up saying lamely.

Unlike the people in Paradis, the people in this café seemed to have a higher level of professionalism. The did glance at Armin and Annie but nothing that lingered more than appropriately and that helped calm Annie a bit. She was still so angry over his choice of company the previous night and she was trying so hard to not make any sly comments about it. It was too soon, she didn't want to ruin anything yet. Her head snapped up at Armin when he called her love, but she wasn't upset, just flustered. The blush clear on her face and when he laid a hand on her back, she shivered lightly, wishing she wore a shirt that allowed him to touch her skin directly.
When she sat, she used their proximity to reach up and twirl a strand of his soft hair in her fingers. She missed touching him, she missed him so much that she just couldn't give up the opportunity. though, she didn't miss the groan he let out or where his eyes went and she chuckled lightly, liking that he still found her attractive enough to give such a vocal reaction.
"How have I been?" She repeated, placing her hands on the table before dragging them to her lap. She was picking at her fingers, a clear sign of her nervousness and she wanted to hide that from his view. "Well, that's an interesting place to start seeing as how you've hinted at stalking me." She tilted her head, fringe falling across her face while she shook her head. She was making fun of him, but hoped he wouldn't take her sarcasm to heart.
"I've been... decent. The first couple of months after Paradis... they where hell and I almost gave up and was ready to make a big mistake. But I'm glad I didn't, I'm glad I'm here now." She relaxed, leaning back slightly. "I don't know how much you know about how my life has been. But Meeting Bertholdt was a coincidence not a choice. I live with him and Reiner now and I have a job as a security guard for this sketchy warehouse that keeps me pretty entertained and the gym keeps me active enough so that I don't feel like I'm losing my strength." she hated that she mentioned Bertholdt back in Paradis, he must think so low of her now despite the situation having not been what he assumed it was.
But he asked her how she's been. None of that was a true answer and it took Annie a minute of looking past the glass and towards the town to come up with that reply. "I've.. I've been lonely." She said honestly with a sigh, turning to look at him as the waitress came back with her flowers in a vase and menu's in hand. Annie gladly accepted the flowers back, putting them near the middle but out of the way so she could still see Armin clearly. It was breakfast time so she skimmed the menu before quickly ordering French toast and some sausages. A cold brew caramel coffee as her drink. She paused, blushed, and apologized to Armin for being so hasty with her order. "My head could really use the coffee." She explained, letting the waitress turn her attention to Armin as she looked at the flowers.
When the lady left, Annie nodded at Armin. "I think you're right, they're too pale to be the color of your eyes."
Then, she felt nervous again. "Look, I... I have so much to say and ask and I'm struggling not to be overwhelming right now. Which is completely unlike me. I haven't been able to find that body wash here, did you bring it from Paradis? How long have you been watching me and why did you never come out of the shadows? Everything you said at the bar and the party... How much of it did you mean? Why would you say all that when you have a girlfriend... Things of the sort," She chuckled, placing her hands on the table and leaning forward.
"But we can get to that later right? Because I really want to know how you've been and I really think that I... I need to apologize to you Armin. to all of you, I think that's the most important thing for me right now. I tried explaining myself back at the bar but I'm sure none of it made sense and so... I'm sorry, I'm so sorry that I put you through all that. I'm so sorry I let my own mind dig a hole in what we had. I'm sorry I hurt you... All of you." She was tearing up, and so she gulped but didn't break eye contact with him. "I regret it all so much and I know I can't go back in time to take it back but..."
She let out a shaky chuckle. Hating her vulnerability. "I know you've moved on and I'm just happy you're here so I can apologize for my wrongdoings because you don't deserve that, you never did. You don't have to forgive me, just know that I'm sorry for being so stupid back then. Ah, I'm rambling aren't I? Not giving you the chance to talk, I'm sorry. Really." She leaned back, placing her hands between her thighs and allowing Armin to talk, except the drinks came and Annie bit her lower lip and looked up at the sky, feeling the urge to continue apologizing but holding it back to give him the time to process what she was saying.

Annie’s blush was the sweetest thing Armin had laid eyes on and seeing it again after all this time made Armin feel warm inside, she had blushed the last two nights as well but Armin had wondered if it had been for him or due to her intoxicated state. He had hoped it was for him and now seeing it again, Armin felt his own cheeks heating up with color. Especially when Annie’s fingers touched his hair, the back of her fingertips brushing against his neck. Armin’s eyelashes trembled as his eyes rolled with pleasure coming back to earth at the sound of Annie’s chuckle.
Armin gave Annie a look before going to his seat. Focusing on her and laughing himself at the stalking comment. But not denying it. Armin had stalked her, more so in the last three months and he felt like a creeper the whole time. But then again, it was the only way Armin could see Annie so he took it all in stride. “Guilty as charged I guess.” But he let her talk, leaning back against his seat and wanting to pick at his necklace but leaving it securely underneath the white tee. It had become such a habit these days, one that brought him peace. That calmed his mind and his nerves, and on bad days, his rage and pain.
Annie mentioning her living arrangements and occupations only made Armin feel that easy anger that always claimed him as he watched her with the two men. But Armin stuffed it down, trying to focus on Annie so that his scent didn’t change due to his rage. Armin could tell that Annie liked her boys. Got comfortable with them. Maybe even more, despite her claims of it not. It was them that had stopped Armin all the times he had wanted to go to her. Armin rubbed at his neck, feeling desperation at their names and Annie mentioning she had been lonely and straightening with relief once the waitress came, taking his menu with a soft ‘thank you’ and flipping it open.
Hiding the pain in his eyes at that statement, wanting to tell her just how lonely Armin had been as well. Especially while watching her between those boys, smiling, having a good time, prospering in a way that she had never done with him.
“I’ll have the same thing.” Armin gave back the menus and waited till the woman was out of earshot before turning back to Annie. “Too pretty, just like yours.” Armin stared at the flowers in question, then at Annie’s eyes, then at the blue sky and white clouds before back to Armin’s favorite shade of blue. Armin was smiling, lost in Annie’s eyes, every emotion coming to a halt besides his adoration for the woman sitting in front of him.
He didn’t say anything until Annie stopped, so many questions she had asked him, so many misunderstandings, just like before. Armin sighed, seeing Annie’s watery eyes, wondering why he always seemed to make her cry. Armin thanked the waitress again and pushed the coffee away to the side. Armin placed his hands on the table, moving Annie’s to the side and out of the way as well and placing his hands out.
“Give me your hands?” Armin asked gently but didn’t wait for her to give them to him. Continuing in as calm of a voice as Armin could managed.
“I’ve been lonely too Annie, these last nine months have been hell honestly. After a day in that cabin, after you left, I could finally stand up. I left, found out you left the day before and I came back here. I hoped to track you down and talk to you but I didn’t have the slightest clue as to where you’d go. So I went to Marley again.” Armin gave her a wink to reassure her, not wishing to see the worry in her eyes if they showed. “But after a few days it was clear you weren’t there. But I stayed. Because I wanted to end it. Make sure you could never go back there. I’m sorry but it’s gone. It took me six months to finish everything, I would have been done sooner but damn they had a lot of loose ends. It took more time than I had wanted.”
Armin raised a eyebrow, “I didn’t move on Annie, Ymir and Historia are Marley’s victims who couldn’t make it in society and I’ve helped them. They’ve become friends, just like I reckon your boys have to you. Which I’m not too crazy about but I don’t want to fight, so I won’t get into it.” Armin rolled his eyes, continuing though.
“Thank you for apologizing, you don’t have to though, I’m at fault for not fighting for you. For us. For thinking that you’d be better off without me. Which I really believed it. But now it’s just all stupid to me, you know? We spend more time apart than together. Did you know it was only two weeks? Now look, it’s been nine months. Almost a year. I just...” Armin could feel the back of his eyes burning.
“I’m sorry.” Armin licked his bottom lip, glancing away from her to stare at the sky. Biting his lip next and dragging his gaze back to her, if she grabbed his hand he would be squeezing hers right now. “Too much time has passed and I know I don’t have any right, but Annie I meant every single confusing and straight word I said to you these past two nights. I’m in love with you Annie Leonhart. I can’t stand seeing you with those guys. With your ex who’s obviously in love with you. With the asshole who always makes fun of you. I can’t stand it because I wish it was me. You’ve been living with them longer than all our encounters put together. From our childhood, to the moments in New Dawn, to the two weeks in Paradis. You’ve been with them longer. I shouldn’t assume you don’t have feelings for one or both. I’m sure you’ve moved on unlike me. But Annie, when I told you I was all yours that day, it was the truth.”
Armin narrowed his eyes at her, nodding to himself and a small laugh escaping him. “I guess im just that type of guy. There’s only one for me Annie and I’m staring at her right now. Hoping that we could start again. Also no I found it at a little shop in the Deadlands, imagine my surprise. Today’s the first time I’ve been man enough to use it, actually.” Armin laughed again, before giving her a small smile.
“But I won’t force you to do anything you’re not ready for or comfortable with. I’ve never blamed you Annie, so I don’t have to forgive you. I’ve always just wanted the best for you. If it’s with them, I’ll respect that. I know you can’t wait around forever but Annie if you still feel anything for me-anything at all, all I ask is for a chance. There’s no Marley to be worried about. My Titans are under control. All that’s left is us. I’m fully in Annie. Now I’m the one rambling.”

Annie watched him move the drinks to the side in slight confusion, pulling hers from his hand so she could take a couple of greedy gulps from the glass straw it came with before placing it next to his. She didn't hesitate to hold his hands, placing her palms against his while her fingers rubbed across his wrist, under his jean jacket. She was nervous, this was the moment when he'd tell her he was sorry for getting ahead of himself. This was the moment he'd confirm her suspicions on his relationship with the blonde and freckled filled brunette.
But that wasn't what he told her at all and all Annie could do is gape at him in surprise. What he was saying didn't make any sense to her, especially about Marley being gone. He had done that, all by himself? Worry and confusion filled her eyes as he talked and she swallowed hard because her throat suddenly felt like sandpaper. If anyone could do it, it would be Armin Arlert. Annie knew this, she did. With his rage and intelligence and sophistication. With his patient heart, inspiring words, and deadly fist.
Still, the idea that Armin had done it was mind numbingly unrealistic. It was such a dangerous thing, it made her want to cry again. He could have died on her, so easily. Like many before him. It was a horrible thought and Annie subconsciously felt her stomach turning in rage. If it wasn't for Bertholdt, she would have gone to Marley and been by his side while he did all that. She would have been his so long ago.
"Two months..." She managed to whisper after a couple of long minutes of silence. "I gave up trying to survive after two months and was going to turn myself in. Even if it meant being eaten." There was no one occupying the seats nearby, so she felt at ease being able to speak. "Armin, what you did... I'm trying to wrap my mind around it. If it would be anyone, it would be you to destroy Marley. But... The idea of losing you of having been so close to going back to you and deciding that you wouldn't want that from me... I'm going to take a minute to process that."
She sighed, squeezing his hand. "You're here and that was so careless but you're alive and that's all that matters but..." He had to have killed so many people. She never saw Armin in that light and she knew that the people he killed during his initial entrance to Marley was something that weighs heavy on his shoulders. It made her feel sad, it made her shoulders tremble at everything that could have gone wrong and it made her feel uneasy. Marley was her home and now Marley was gone too.
"I'm not trying to argue..." She said with a huff, trying to change the direction of her response so her mind wouldn't dig through a dark hole again. "But friends don't fill up the room with the stink of need. Bertholdt and Reiner are idiots and I do not carry any feelings for them. Bertholdt has a crush on me, I wouldn't say he loves me, and it'll fade soon enough. I have noticed that but... My whole friendship with them is based on the lie that I was in Marley simply as a subject of Magath. To be eaten, dissected, and figured out so his precious monsters could strive. They don't know that I'm the monster they talk about with hatred. Everything rests on this lie and therefore everything is fake."
She opened her mouth, but the waitress came around with their food. Placing each plate in front of them and in turn, making Annie pull her hands away from Armin as she stared out into the city. She was frowning, not sure at what, but Annie's mind was racing and the waitress picked up on the hostility and made sure everything was okay and that she hadn't messed up before promptly walking away, leaving a tray of syrups and butter at the table.
Annie sighed and turned around to look at Armin, eyes widening when she realized she must have been giving off the wrong signals. She was upset that he put himself in danger, yes, but she should have focused on what he had said last rather than what he said in the beginning. She hated that any mentions of Marley still made her brain scramble. "Armin... I haven't moved on. I'm not like that and you of all people should know that things aren't as easy as they seem for me. Yes, Bertholdt and Reiner keep me company but they don't know who I am, what I am. They don't know the slightest thing about me. Only you do Armin. I've missed you for so long and you're right, we haven't had time and maybe now we can have time. Without the trauma, Marley, death. Without everything haunting us like it did back in Paradis. We can give ourselves the time. I love you and only you and I don't want to ever see someone else clinging onto you the way that she did at that party."
"I know it feels like we don't have much, just some trauma and memories but goddamn it Armin... I know it doesn't matter but I've given you so much. you're the only person I can truly smile and-and feel like I want to smile with. I can feel like I want to laugh with you and learn and grow. I feel like I can cry with you and express my darkest parts. Parts of me that I'm sure no one else would understand and even if they can I don't care because they aren't you. No one else in this world is you or could possibly fill your shoes. God, I-I've cried out of happiness with you. I didn't even know that was possible until I met you. To cry because someone fills you up in impossible ways. and -" She paused, huffing when she realized she was rambling with passion. Blushing, Annie groaned and turned to her food.
She poured maple syrup on all of her food before digging in, glancing at Armin shyly and with a huff, turning to take a bite. She chewed, took a gulp of her drink, and kept on not looking at him. "I even talk like a mad woman because of you and I think it's pointless to mention that I want another chance too because it should be obvious that I do. We don't have to jump into things, Armin. Just name it and I'll do it to prove that I'm being serious."

Armin chuckled at the sight of Annie’s greedy sips, finding her adorable per usual and beaming at her when she took his hands. Closing his eyes for a second to enjoy the feel of her fingers against his skin and caressing his thumb against the top of her hand. His smile staying at the sight of Annie’s open mouth, until a shiver went down his body at other images popping in his head at such a sight. Armin shifted in his seat slightly, leaning closer to the table so that Annie couldn’t see his rising problem.
The sight of the worry and pain in Annie’s eyes helped in that department but only made Armin feel bad because once again, he had caused such a reaction for her. Armin squeezed Annie’s hands, bringing one to his lips quickly and pressing a few tender kisses against her fingers before placing it back on the table. Brushing his thumbs against her knuckles.
Despite the pain in her eyes, Armin was glad that he had destroyed Marley on his own, not wanting Annie to have to deal with everything all over again. In Armin eyes, Annie’s time with Marley was finished the moment he almost killed her in that cage. When they escaped to Paradis. There was no reason to drag her back to such a hell. Even though, at the mentioning of her about to go back after two months and knowing that she wouldn’t be meeting her death-but would be seeing Armin again...well that kinda sucked. Knowing he could have been with her all this time...
Armin shook his head, “Wasn’t meant to be...Take all the time you need Annie, like you said, I’m alive. I’m okay despite it all and so are you. You’ve have enough of Marley in your life. I’m just glad it’s all done and over with. But I’m sorry too, it just had to be done.” Armin gave Annie another squeeze, his eyes showing the pain and guilt he had of destroying the one home Annie knew. Hopefully Armin could give her a new home. A better home. With him. If that was still a option. Armin hoped that it was.
He couldn’t help the next roll of his eyes. Making sure to keep his voice chill. Even as his mind kept providing him flashbacks of her ex watching Annie when she wasn’t looking-or awake. “Oh Annie...” Armin wanted to tell her she was blind but felt that would be too harsh. “You don’t see it because you don’t want to accept it. The boy is in love with you. There’s no crush. Maybe it was a crush in the beginning but now...” Armin cracked his neck because just talking about it made him annoyed.
“Even if it’s based on a lie, they way they are with you? That won’t matter at all to them. Especially your lover boy.” Armin huffed out a breath, “But why am I saying this, I should stay quiet and count my blessings, they just-make me mad.” Thankfully the waitress came and Armin didn’t have to talk about her stupid boys anymore, hoping that Annie was telling the truth about not feeling anything for them. Armin did miss the warmth of her hands though.
He stared at the food, then at Annie’s side profile as she stared out into the town. She was so beautiful, Armin wondered if Annie knew just how beautiful she was. Maybe not, with Reiner’s constant jabs about her nose, but Armin knew Hoover could see the exact sight that Armin could. It killed him to acknowledge it, to see another man staring at Annie the same way Armin did. It made Armin want to go on a mindless rampage, preferably on the man himself. But Armin couldn’t blame him, despised him yes, but blame? No. Not when Annie was such a full package, any man with half a brain could see it. Would want her for themselves. Armin growled softly, not wanting Annie with anyone but himself.
When Annie met his eyes, Armin felt his anger leaving once again. Smiling at her, then staying very still as Annie’s next words were of her not moving on. He could feel the hope rising from the dead, his hope that had been crushed to ashes months ago which had been sparking for the last two days. But at this very moment, it sky rocketed and shone deeply into his eyes, making his gaze bright up in a way that it hadn’t since that day. He didn’t even care that she mentioned her boys again choosing to sink his teeth on everything else she was saying. Feeding that hope more and more until Armin could feel it burning within him, trying to shine through.
Armin just stared at Annie for a long moment, swallowing his words and feeling that earlier blush deepened fully across his face. All his insecurities, his doubts, his negative and cynical thoughts, Armin’s eyes burning-watering, everything Armin feared, burning and then letting go, drifting away from him like waves did, reaching back into the vast waters of the sea. Armin suddenly knew what he had forgotten this morning. But smiled, knowing it wasn’t so far away, and reached up to touch the center of his chest, just next to his fast beating heart.
“You love me.” Armin’s voice sounded almost whimsical to even his own ears. Magical even. As if Armin had just realized the most wonderful thing. His fingers dug out his necklace, sliding his finger down until it caught into the little hoop, only fitting barely halfway in for his own fingers. The metal was warm having been around his chest, against his heated skin, his equally heated heart.
Armin slowly took his necklace off, sliding it up and off his head and holding it clearly into his hands. Showing Annie her ring, their rings, his own glittering against the morning light, the air gently breezing against them. “I have the biggest urge to ask you what I did back then. But there’s no need to rush, because Annie I’m not going anywhere. I’ve made that decision completely and wholeheartedly last night. But now, well you’ve just made it stick.”
Armin slowly unclasp his necklace, sliding the ring into his palm and still looking into Annie’s eyes, rubbed the gentle metal against his fingers for a few more seconds.
“So let me ask you this Annie Leonhart, will you be my girlfriend?” And then Armin stopped fiddling with her ring and held it out towards her, the blue heart and inscribed Q in its same shade, facing the only Queen in Armin’s life. Who had maple syrup smudged against her sweet lips and Armin had the biggest urge to reach over and lick it all off.
Instead, his voice darkening just a tad from his pent up desire for Annie, Armin continued to drive in his point. So that he could finally have Annie back in his life. “I love you. Annie. I didn’t notice it before but if there’s one good thing about us being apart for so long, it’s this: You give me everything woman. True Happiness when I’m with you. Sadness when I’m away or when you’re not happy. You infuriate the hell out of me and make me laugh so hard the next second. When I’m away from you, I feel like I can barely breathe and when I’m around you I can’t for other reasons. You’re sexy as hell even when you’re dressed in that grey hoodie and jeans, which it better had been yours and not one of those boys.” Armin rolled his eyes playfully at her but was totally serious. “You take away my nightmares when I hold you in my sleep...you don’t know how much I’ve missed you at nights.” Armin felt the buildup in his eyes increasing at that, at the sleepless nights he spent all those months wishing Annie had been there with him. Even on the couch. At least she would have been there.
Armin felt the air rush at him and he rubbed at his eye before the tears could fall. He cleared his throat, half turned as he rubbed at his face but Armin was smiling still. “I love you Annie, I was a fool...I want to start my life with you, I want to go home with you....where I belong. Where you belong.”

She was crying.
Before Annie even knew it, tears had slowly fallen down her cheek and it wasn't until one dripped from her chin into her cleavage did she notice that she'd just been staring at Armin Arlert. His words coaxing even her darkest of thoughts away and she felt hope swelling in her heart. She felt the exact same thing for him. Those feelings. That need. She felt everything down to her core and she knew that she wanted Armin Arlert more than she could possibly fathom.
With him sitting here, across from her as he held on to that ring, she felt like the luckiest girl alive. Her chest rose with pride as the once small self doubting child she had seen him to be, grew to become a man, grew to become her man.
"I love you." She repeated firmly, loving how those words honestly rolled out of her lips. The purest thing she has ever said in such a long time. She regretted her past actions, what led them apart, but even with their distance her love for him still stood strong. There was no doubt now, no possible voice in her head that could convince her that this isn't meant to be. They had nine months of space, he'd killed everything that's ever hurt her, and still found his way back to her. Even though he now had another blonde holding on to him in public, which to Annie was still insulting, it felt honestly truer than it did before. There was no space for doubt.
They'd given each other distance, space, and even time to move on but it still hadn't changed anything.
She felt stupid for crying so openly but she was honestly happy so she only rolled her tear filled eyes and wiggled her slightly red nose. "God, you're still as inspirational as I remember." She gave out a small huff, bringing her fingers up to dry at her tears while giving him a lopsided grin. She wasn't crying sad tears, she wasn't crying in pain. She was crying because she was absolutely happy and it was a feeling only Armin knew how to give her.
"We can figure it out, I know we can." Her voice was a bit harsh with emotions and she moved her hands once again between her thighs, occasionally brushing away the stray tear or two. "We can do it right this time Armin, whatever it takes. We can figure it out." She let out a shaky laugh and held out her hand to him, allowing him to be the one to put the ring on her finger as she should have done the first time.
"Yes, Armin Arlert, I will happily be your girlfriend."

They must have looked like quite a pair at that very moment, both crying out of pure happiness, of finally reaching a milestone of their reuniting, their food mostly untouched, the quiet morning only whispering their two distinctive voices back and forth between each other and Armin soaked in every second of it. Cherishing the moment and every trial it took to get here, feeling closer to Annie than he had in months, even before that, their journey not coming to a end but finally on the same page for thousands of more pages to come.
“And I love you.” Armin repeated again, after hearing her saying it so fiercely and needing to say it as well. Armin had never stopped, could not stop and didn’t want to stop loving his Annie. His Titans for all their talk felt the same way. The Gorilla having desired Annie for years before entering Armin and since then coming to understand the depth of his emotions driven further along by Armin’s. Annie had slipped under the Wolf’s thick skin without the beast even knowing and during the months without her...it had felt like he had lost his mate. Which Armin had. Wolves and Beasts only mated once in their life. Armin would only have one mate. It was Annie, it was always Annie, it would be only Annie until his last days on this earth. And if Armin was lucky, if there was something after death, if his soul could find hers, well wouldn’t that just be happily ever after?
Armin’s smile only sweetened at her words, winking at the roll of her eyes, the motion causing another droplet to fall down his cheek. “You inspire me.” Armin shrugged his shoulders and laughed, bringing one of his hands up to run through his hair. Cocking his head and watching Annie with very bright eyes. “Yes Annie, we’ll make it work. We’ll talk about everything honestly like you said before and get through it together. I’ll never let you go through it alone unless you ask me to give you some space. But maybe even then I’ll stubbornly stick around. Make you hold my hand and shit. You can be mad or sad, just let me be with you when that happens. I won’t run away anymore baby, I’m here, I’m staying.”
Armin touched her outstretched hand, brushing his thumb against her fingers and stared at Annie with all the love he felt for her when she accepted his proposal. Armin brought her fingers to his lips, closing his eyes as he vowed to himself that he’ll never let this hand go ever again and opening his eyes, staring straight into hers, Armin leaned back and slid the missing matching pair right back where it belonged, on Annie’s ring finger. The pair finally complete and connected. Armin brought her hand back to his lips, kissing over the ring and her skin, his eyes sparking with light and dark blues, flecks of gold and black.
“I’m home Annie. I’m home.” Armin felt his tears still coming and let them, not at all embarrassed even though he knew his face to be completely red, it was a good thing Annie thought his red nose was cute.
Armin let go of her hand, so Annie could see her ring again and so she could continue eating, stretching his legs out instead to press against hers, missing even this. Needing to stay in contact with her warmth. “Your food is going to get cold babygirl, let’s finish eating and would you like to take a drive with me? I hear the fair’s in town.”

Annie had to let out a small laugh at the sight of him, even if the sound sounded more like a sob. His wide eyes blurring as the tears pooled before falling past his long golden eyelashes, trailing down pink cheeks, besides a cute little red nose, and full lips. Dipping down his chin before disappearing somewhere on the dark material of his pants. She wondered how many other times he's cried in the last couple of months but bit her lip because she was only going to give him happy tears from now on.
She watched him put her ring on and her shoulders relaxed, she finally felt complete. That ring made her heart swell as she missed it more than she had possibly imagined. Annie was never one for material things, she never had that privilege to hold on to something that was only hers and came from a good place. This ring, her ring, had left her feeling like a part of her was missing, She felt naked without it and finally seeing it back in place, seeing Armin wear his, it all felt too damn good.
Their table had three seats and when he mentioned food she lifted off her seat and moved to the one closer to him, holding on to his hand as she moved and scooted even closer so that her knees pressed against his thighs as she leaned in. She didn't have the reach he did, so she worked on drying up his tears carefully, laughing as her own set of tears selfishly still rolled down her eyes. His eyes shined so brightly it made Annie's body tremble in happiness. They were so beautiful, so completely full of color and instead of shying away from them, she welcomed all the hues. Finally feeling at home again.
"Arlert." She said a tad breathlessly, eyes shining with happiness and tears. "I want to go home to you." She brought his fingers up to her lips, pressing light kisses against the tips of his fingers and along each knuckle between her words. "I want to be there for you at night, during the day, for all our happy moments and our unavoidable fights. I want to sleep next to you, wake up to your warmth.." She trailed off, eyes shutting as she placed more kisses, along the side of his palm and across the inside of his wrist, feeling his warmth and heartbeat through his skin.
"I want to fuel all of our fantasies and kiss away all your worries. Hell, I even want to hold your hand and never let go despite-" She paused to roll her eyes and laugh at her own words. "-Despite public affection making me nervous. I want to proudly just be yours and I'm willing to take things as slow as they need to go so that we get it right this time or as fast as we need to go to catch up on our missed time but from now on... From now on I'm going to want to spend all my days with you. If not in person then through phone calls and texts and whatever else there could be to be a part of your life." She sighed before pulling her hungry lips away, a lazy pleased smile across her pink lips. "There's no talking me down this time. No running away."
She leaned back, placing his hand on her lap as she looked around, blushing at the few curious eyes. "We must look insane right now and I'm sure there are people that probably think you proposed to me just now." She grinned and signaled at her waitress that they were okay before the lady managed to approach the table completely, not wanting the moment to be interrupted. She glanced back at him, once again rubbing gently across his cheek before leaning closer and giving his stained cheek a soft kiss. "I missed you so much." She whispered against his skin before sliding her face down so she could lay her head against his shoulder, lips brushing against the hot skin of his neck.
"I don't think we're taking this fast, even though you stalked me for god knows how long before finally coming back." She was teasing him, the small poke against his thighs showing him that. "We've had nine months to think our feelings through and even if you just showed up, I'm so ready to take this step with you. To jump right into the roll of Armin Arlerts girlfriend." She let out a laugh and pulled away, bringing her plate over to her now that she switched seats. She gave him a smile and moved her fork over a piece of toast, stabbing it before bringing it to her lips, a bit of syrup falling between her cleavage and she groaned as she chewed.
"Of course I have to eat like an idiot when you're watching me." She huffed, bringing her hands to undo the string that was tied tightly in front of her shirt, allowing the strings to slide open and reveal more of her chest before dipping her finger under the fabric to swipe at the syrup. "God, Armin I don't even need to be looking at you to feel how hard you're looking at me right now."
