(( Ventia)) Living with Armin was by far the most eventful change in her life. She'd honestly thought it would go as smooth as butter now that Marley was gone and they're actively trying to work on building a relationship rather than mindlessly jumping into things just to end up hurt. they've already been through a lot together. From Annie having to have the awkward contraception conversation because he'd really terrifies her with his mentions of a growing family to Armin bringing up the awkward conversation of her period cycle. Then there was the stressful things in between. From her hurting Historia and him mentioning how she'd killed two of his friends already and should just stop at that to his fight with Reiner and Bertholdt's hasty advances. It was a lot. Some things hurt, some things made her mad and insecure. Some things made her cry but true to his words, they dealt with it all together. Build each other up and the things that she thought would be extremely hard to move forward from, because so breathtakingly easy it made her cry all over again. Surprisingly they hadn't been as sexually active as Annie would have thought. There was so much to do, so much to learn and discover, Annie found herself waking up extremely early most days and falling asleep late after a packed day of adventures. Armin was always so thoughtful and she was trying to be more open and cheerful and that in and of itself was something hard, but with him, so worth it. A month and a half later, she was starting to sleep more, feeling unnecessarily tired. It had made Armin worried seeing as they already had a set schedule of things they did in the morning like work out together, shower, and cook up breakfast. They ate most of the time either outside by the pool or in the entertainment center as they tossed out ideas of what the day should be like. But Annie just thought that she needed to slow down. She wasn't used to all the excitement after all and put his worries to rest by making a comment that she could finally sleep happy now that she was with him and he gave her all the snuggles she craved for. Armin was still by her side well into noon and Annie found herself rushing off of bed and towards the bathroom, barely making it to the toilet before she puked up stomach acids. With a groan, she flushed and turned towards the sink to rinse of her mouth and brush her teeth, glancing down at a white and pink, she picked it up and read over the words before dropping it down on the sink, quickly rinsing out her mouth and turning on the water before making her way back to their room with the box now in her hands. " what is this!?" She hadn't meant to sound so angry and not amused but the words came out clipped regardless. "Okay, Armin now you're thinking too much and it's making you stupid." She threw the box on the bed. "I told you that I had some bleeding like three weeks ago even if it had been just a one time thing, and I'm on birth control and this is silly. I've probably been throwing up because of that stupid Thai food we experimented with over the weekend." She didn't like how nervous she was feeling or the fact that those nerves borderline with some growing fear inside of her that made her want to claw out of her own skin.

Armin frowned yet again when Annie jumped from the bed and rushed towards her bathroom, sitting up and wincing at the sound of Annie puking. Usually she’d dry heave but for the last few days it didn’t seem to be the case. Armin, worried as ever, was getting out of the bed, and watching as Annie started brushing her teeth. The pink and white box which had been sitting under the sink for about three weeks now along with Annie’s mensual cycle supplies was doing just that. Sitting there untouched and unnoticed. Armin couldn’t stand it anymore and so this morning, he had popped it from underneath the sink to right on top of it, that way Annie would have no issues seeing it. With her angry eyes and voice as she threw the box to the bed, Armin briefly smiled since she seemed to finally notice the damn thing, but quickly wiped it off before it made Annie angrier.
“Are you okay?” He ignored her little outburst, walking the few steps and brushing his hands over her shoulders and arms, rubbing them up and down and staring into her wild eyes. The worry in them unsettled Armin and he forced himself to relax and keep his tone light.
Taking his hands off of her and walking towards the bed, grabbing the pregnancy test box and turning back to her. He sighed, sitting back down at the edge of the bed and giving Annie one of his looks that she so loved. “This is not silly Annie love. Unfortunately during my time in Marley I had to make lots of errand runs to be buying women their lady things almost weekly sometimes which their messed up cycles. You Annie, I’ve never had to deal with that. Which is why I asked you when you had your last err period. You said before we met. Well babe it’s been more than a month since then and you still haven’t used any of the things I got you. You’ve been overly tired, which isn’t like you, a few days yeah but it’s been weeks now Annie. Now the throwing up?”
Armin blew out a breath, blowing one of his bangs that fell over his face, his hair slightly longer since he hadn’t cut it since their first day back together. Armin was currently shirtless, wearing just his boxers and some black socks, with quick fingers he ripped open the top of the box and glanced inside, pulling one wrapped test and stepping up, going back to Annie and holding both the box and the tube in front of her.
“What’s the harm? It’s not that hard Annie, should I read the instructions?” Armin tried not to show his smirk. Instead smiling softly down at her. “Amuse me, hmm? Or I’m dragging you to a doctors office and I know you hate those places, because I’m starting to get genuinely worried babe. You can’t keep blaming the food because I’m fine. It’ll make sense if you know, you’re...” Armin paused, not wanting to say the word out loud because every time he mentioned wanting a family with her or kids, Annie would freeze up and start acting weird.
But he’d have to if his worries were right. “If you were pregnant then maybe you’re getting sensitive to certain foods? I’ve read it all up online, all these little signs make sense if you are-won’t you do it? For me?” Armin smiled wide, popping the test back in the box and pressing it against her stomach slightly.

Annie scoffed and for the first time since they've been together, she found herself feeling genuinely annoyed with Armin. It was such a foreign feeling it upset her more than she already was. to the point that she started to pull away from his touch before forcing herself not too. She's never pulled away from Armin angrily, he was always allowed to touch her even when she was upset, and she tried really hard to not do it right now that she ended up gritting her teeth and glaring at him. "I'm fine. Armin, I'm fine, and I've told you I'm fine every other time you've asked so why can't you just believe me?"
She watched him walk to the bed and pick up the box and despite the fact that she felt the need to argue with him and what he was saying, Armin was just speaking facts and Annie wouldn't start an argument she knew she'd lose right from the beginning. So she just stood there, glaring at Armin because he sounded way too lighthearted about the whole thing and Annie in turn wanted to just run to the bathroom and puke for completely different reasons than before.
This was so fucking stupid.
this wasn't happening.
"Is that what you've been doing on your computer for hours? Looking up pregnancy shit? Armin I'm not... I'm not pregnant I got on birth control the day after I came back." She was most definitely being a bit snappy. After they had sex that initial night she had told him she wanted to get on birth control. They had sex one night without protection and multiple times in Paradis, there just was no way for her to even amuse what he was saying. She glanced over at the clock, blinking in surprise when it said it was already midway through four o'clock in the afternoon and all she really wanted to do right now was crawl back into bed.
"Maybe the birth control is fucking up my cycle?" She offered a bit more softly, glaring at his hands before snatching up the box. Annie was wearing a simple black satin negligee and nothing much underneath but despite this she felt suddenly awfully hot when she realized that the only way she'd get Armin to drop this would be to go through and take the test. So she dropped the box on the bed, grabbed a glass full of water and drank from it hungrily as she stomped towards the bathroom. With a slam of the door, she emptied the cup in the sink and positioned herself so she could pee into it.
Drying herself off, she opened the door and placed the cup on his nightstand. "Have fun playing with my piss, Arlert." She gave him a face unamused smile before turning around and stomping away. Deciding not to stay and watch him make a fool out of himself and instead, going to the kitchen where she fetched herself a turkey sandwich from the fridge and poured herself a large glass of whiskey.
Annie sighed as she leaned against the counter while unwrapping the sandwich that she remembered telling Armin she liked and now he conveniently always kept some in stock for her. She huffed when she realized that her hands trembled and brought them in so she could rub them together in an attempt to calm them and the raging nerves inside of her. This was stupid. So stupid and there was no reason for Annie to think she was pregnant even though she was usually sick in the mornings. she's been on birth control but she's also a titan and she's...
"You've got to be shitting me." She hissed, closing her eyes tightly for a couple of moments before grabbing her things and moving to the entertainment center, upset that she was even thinking about the possibility to begin with. Out of spite, she took a gulp of the whiskey and nearly puked it out. The flavor stronger and more bitter than she remembered it ever being but she closed off those thoughts and grabbed her sandwich, taking a bite into it as she thought of punching Arlert in the face for making her feel so upset so early in the damn afternoon.

“I want to believe you baby, really I do...” Armin stared at her angry eyes, at the glares she was giving him and knew to not take it personal. Definitely not if Annie was pregnant with his child. Their child. Knowing she was already freaked by such things and if she was pregnant, it would only make Annie more moody in the days to come. It was up to Armin to help her get through it.
So he stayed silent, only smiling at her when she guessed correctly at his obsessing with his laptop. Wincing just a tad when Annie slammed the bathroom door and chuckling softly to himself. “Thank you!” He called out loudly enough and started pacing back and forth before Annie left the cup on his nightstand.
Unable to hide his chuckles at her sassy words. “I’ll try! Thank you again Annie!” He called after her as she escaped and busied himself with reading the instructions quickly and ripping open one of the tests. Then deciding to try all of them just in case. Armin stayed upstairs and was worrying himself silly if he was doing it correctly. Surely Annie would know more of this stuff? Even if he did have the instructions all laid up on the bed and had done everything to the T, Armin still felt like he was doing it all wrong.
He dumped the rest of the cup’s contents in the toilet, flushing it and rinsing out the cup, bringing it back with him and putting it back on the nightstand with the three capped tests, glancing at his watch and feeling like the next five minutes were lasting a lifetime.
But eventually it passed and Armin picked one of the tests up, glancing at the sheet of instructions and using it to compare. Armin’s heart was beating too fast, his fingers shaky as he grabbed the other two tests and stared at the blue cross, again and again, staring out the bedroom door where Annie had disappeared to, with wonder in his eyes. He had been right. Armin didn’t even know how to react. How to process this new information. He swallowed hard, grabbing the three tests and the sheet of paper and ran out of the room, almost forgetting to take the cup top and running back to grab it fast and dash down the three flight of stairs, dropping the glass in the sink and glaring at the bottle.
“Annie!” Armin definitely growled. “You better not be drinking that shit!” He was yelling now, following her scent to the entertainment room and seeing the still mostly filled cup in her hands. With a hiss, Armin reached over and yanked it out of her fingers, swallowing everything in it in one long swallow. The liquor settling his nerves for a moment.
“You’re pregnant!” Armin gushed out afterwards, dropping the cup down on the table and glaring at her. “You can’t drink anymore again, look!” Armin’s voice was high with excitement, and he made his way around the table sitting next to her. Placing the sheet on the table, pushing away the cup and remote, and putting all three tests in front of her, then changing his mind and grabbing them all again and bringing it up to her face, showing her the three plus signs and then grabbing the paper and pointing at the results section and how the two lines, the plus or the cross sign meant pregnant.
“You’re pregnant...” Armin finally stared into her eyes, dropping his gaze towards her stomach and swallowing hard again.
Then softly, “You’re going to be a mother. I’m going to be a father? Oh my god Annie...you’re pregnant.”

"Armin what th-" Annie yelped at him, surprised at his actions as she shot up from the couch, intending to grab her cup back from his hands before she froze. Completely froze at his next two words. She was sure she forgot to breathe because suddenly the room swayed underneath her and she slowly sat back down on the couch as Armin in a more controlled and lowered toned repeated himself.
You're pregnant.
You're pregnant. Pregnant. Pregnant.
The words sounded weird in her head and she didn't even notice that she had dropped her sandwich and had a mouth full of bread and meat half chewed up in her mouth just weighing her tongue down.
You're pregnant.
She could still hear the words dancing in her head, in his excited voice, and her heart sank so far down she gasped for air and choked on her food. Coughing slightly, she blinked multiple times as her eyes tried to focus on the sticks and papers Armin was literally holding too closely to her face and she leaned back so she could focus on what he was demanding her to see and as soon as her mind started working the information clicked in place and her face grew pale. "...Oh."
As he continued to talk, she pushed the papers away from her face and got up slowly. "Oh." She repeated, her mind not being able to formulate anything better to say but her feet started dragging her towards the steps. "I-I'm going to be sick." She muttered before rushing upstairs. She knew they had enough bathrooms downstairs but the further she moved away from Armin the easier it felt to breathe and she knew, she just knew, she was running away from him but she couldn't stop herself.
They'd promised each other not to run away and she knew she couldn't just leave the house so her feet rushed her up to the last floor of the huge house, towards one of the wings she hadn't completely explored, towards the darkest corner and the farthest room. Once inside, she closed the door and stepped away from the door as if she was terrified of what was on the other side.
The room was full of covered furniture that they've gotten together but haven't had the time to set out and pick which rooms they'd reside in and Annie made her way to one of the beds that sat in the room, and slowly sat down. She didn't know what to think. Her whole body was trembling and she felt like she was going to cry. She... She should have corrected him the first time he mentioned wanting a family. She should have told him that she didn't want one. That she wasn't mother material and that was far out of reach for her and she wasn't sure she'd ever be willing to go that far, not even for him.
But she never told him that, not even the second time he mentioned it casually and all she'd managed to lamely do was ask for birth control and she wasn't even sure if he understood why but his excitement for her to take the test should have stopped her from giving him her pee. She shouldn't have. She just shouldn't have and now....
Now she didn't even know because she didn't want to hurt him but she just... couldn't do this.
Annie let out a small laugh that sounded almost hysterical to her and focused all her attention on the tiled floors that shined with the bit of sunshine that managed to wiggle it's way through the small window into the room.

Armin paused, staring at Annie’s face and only now registering the wildness behind her eyes. Or the fact that she was nearly choking on her food. Armin frowned at her, about to get ready to go get her a glass or bottle of water when Annie got up again and retreated away from him. Armin was frozen on the couch, watching Annie hasten away, listening to her hurried footsteps and once he couldn’t hear no more, Armin stared at the tests still in his hand.
She was pregnant. Armin couldn’t get that thought-that fact-out of his head. Didn’t want to either. He had wished for this, to start a family with Annie, to have a little mini me version of Annie or himself-but Armin hadn’t expected it so soon. They were just starting to get comfortable with each other, Armin had fucked it up yet again by jokingly asking Annie not to kill Historia since she already killed Jean and Marco. That had been bad. Armin apologized over and over, Annie telling him that it was a low blow even for Armin, and made him feel shittier than ever. He had thrown her same line back at her while he had Reiner in a headlock, so close to snapping it and really wanting to as well, but Annie’s soft ‘Armin you know that’s not who you are’ comment had sent his blood cold. He felt like he was that type of man, especially after Marley, and could gladly end Reiner’s unfortunate life and all his insults to Annie right in a heartbeat. It was his desire to keep Annie seeing him as the man she loved that stopped him, from breaking the boy’s neck and instead making him pass out. It was worse with Hooverville who had the actual nerve to try and kiss Annie in front of him. Armin didn’t stop until his nose was shattered and bloodied and laying unconscious next to his idiot partner.
Armin sighed, clenching the tests in his right hand and then letting it go, placing them gently on the table and rubbing his hands together, the tension in his back beginning to accumulate as he counted the seconds, trying to give Annie a little bit of time by herself before chasing after her. Armin was still working on that, sometimes Annie let him come close, other times she screamed at him or whispered so softly to just leave her alone for a few minutes. Choosing to sit behind the closed door and listening to Annie’s quiet sobs that wrenched a hole through Armin’s heart, reminding him that Armin still made her cry. Sometimes he wanted to run away himself from her sounds, but stayed because he never truly wanted to be apart from Her.
Armin hit his forehead a few times, realizing that he had acted like a complete ass once again. Too much too soon especially on a subject he knew Annie to be sensitive with. Armin rubbed at his face, glancing through his fingers to see the positive results and knowing she was carrying their child. Children maybe. Armin rubbed at his neck and couldn’t take the distance any longer.
He got up, but instead of running up the stairs, Armin went to the kitchen. Washing the few dishes and cups before washing his hands, and then taking a bottle of water out of the fridge and finally making his way upstairs. Her scent traveling all the way up to the last floor and to the last door farthest away from where Armin had been. Armin hesitated as he always did when it came to this step, straining his ears to hear anything from inside the room, pushing away his hurt at how Annie needed to be away from him. Armin knocked gently and turned the knob, it wasn’t locked which was a good sign.
Armin was silent, staring at her back profile from the doorway, the only light in the room landing on her, the shadows of the room creeping forward as if to engulf his Annie in them, her mellow scent that only added to her feelings. Armin slowly closed the door and walked over, placing the water bottle next to her on the bed, and walking around to kneel in front of Annie, his hands tentatively reaching forward and just barely, his fingertips touching hers.
Armin didn’t say anything, instead stared up into her cloudy eyes, and gave Annie a little smile, trying to tell her without words that no matter what. Armin was here. He’d always be here with Annie. Always.

Annie felt like she was disappointing him and that settled heavily in her chest, making it hard to breathe and her eyes burn up. They had good days, sure. But there was so much they still worked on. So many small triggers and so much they hadn't properly gotten off their chest that would come out as jokes or slight insults that the other would take to heart. But they tried, every day, and throughout the last almost two months it had gotten so much easier. But this -this- was too much for Annie.
Too much, too soon, too sudden.
She didn't know what too feel and oddly enough she felt numb. Annie felt like she couldn't even entertain the idea of being a mother. Of giving birth or keeping someone alive or being there stuck to another person who relied so heavily on her. She didn't understand that motherly love bullshit she's heard about or how this creature inside of her stomach was supposed to be someone she would unconditionally love. She never had a mother and her father had fucked her up so much. she didn't understand the basics when it came to loving someone or how to care for them. She never had that.
Even with Armin, she sometimes found herself needing to retreat away and take time for herself because that's all she's been used to her whole life. She didn't even understand how she could be in such a perfect relationship and still feel the need to be alone in a room for a bit or outside. But Armin was always a doll and he gave her space and when she came back, to be with him, he always accepted her with a smile and without missing a beat would update her on what he was doing or what he had planned next.
But a child wouldn't offer her that freedom.
It was selfish, so fucking selfish, but Annie just felt like she couldn't do that. Armin was a good person but she just wasn't. She's violent and mean and she can't even hold a casual conversation with anyone other than him. She knows nothing other than roughness and impulsive behavior. She's not ready for a family and she knew she probably would never be. So how could she end up pregnant before they even worked their way into establishing a mate bond again? How could she end up giving life to something when all she's ever done was take it?
The worst part of it was that despite Armin's excitement she wanted to get rid of it. It was too much. Too damn much and she was so happy he didn't have a mate bond with her so he wouldn't be able to pick up on what she was thinking. She blinked when she saw Armin moving in front of her and when he knelt down in front of her she curled up a little more, shame burning every nerve ending in her body as she studied his face trying to figure out what he was thinking.
She knew he liked this. He's mentioned it before and even his smirks as he told her to take the test made her feel like he could possibly not be disappointed with the outcome. She hated that she was disappointing him. This was as much his problem as it was hers and the first thing she did was run away and lock herself away from him. "I'm sorry for running away, that wasn't fair- I know." Her voice sounded rough with emotions and she tried to blink quickly to avoid crying.
God, she hated how much she cried.
When she was happy, or tired, or sad, or angry. She just cried all the time for such stupid reasons it must be exhausting for Armin to keep up with her. But she was finally able to allow herself to feel everything without having to hide it all and feeling... Well feelings are overwhelming. She swallowed and opened her mouth a couple of times before glancing back at him. "What... What are you thinking or feeling right now? Because for once I can't figure you out... I just... I'm sorry if I've disappointed you."

Armin shook his head, his fingertips stretching to touch more of Annie’s. “Ssh,” Armin shushed her gently, “It’s okay babygirl, I was being too loud-too much, I completely understand your need to get away.” Armin’s smile broaden, in his rush to reassure her even as her voice and teary eyes made Armin feel responsible. Which he was in this case again.
“You haven’t disappointed me Annie, not at all, never love. Honestly? I’m happy and scared all in one, I know I’ve talked of wanting a family with you but I didn’t expect it to be so soon. I’ve never had to deal with babies before so that’s a bit concerning and now I’m going to have to start baby proofing the house and buying all their things and finding a doctor for you...there’s a lot rushing through my mind Annie.” Armin got out a soft chuckle, hoping his voice would calm Annie’s nerves and ease the tears building up in her eyes if she could see Armin too freaking out by their recent news.
“Most of all Annie, I want you to know I’m here. I’ll always be here. You won’t have to go through it alone, not really. I can’t help with the whole process-“ Another low laugh, Armin really thought he was funny sometimes, “that’s a bit above my pay grade, but everything else, I’m your man. You want massages? I’ll gladly give them. You want certain foods that aren’t in the area? I’ll gladly drive anywhere to get them. You decide last night to change everything up in the nursery? We’ll redecorate in the morning if you’re still feeling it.”
“Annie we’ll take it day by day as we have this whole time. Anything we don’t know, we’ll learn through our mistakes. I hear parents make lots of mistakes before they finally get it all together. I love you Annie...and I already love our baby that you’re carrying...I’ll love each and every part of you, and I’m so excited above all else to have this baby, half of you and half of me all combined in one? I can’t even imagine how she or he will turn out. And yet? I’m already wishing they have your eyes...” Armin cupped Annie’s fingers softly, stroking his thumbs over her small fingers and seeing smaller hands reaching out to grab one of his or hers.
Armin licked his lips, and brought one of Annie’s fingers to his lips, closing his eyes and just happening to kiss her ring finger. “What are you thinking of Annie? You can tell me anything baby, I’m here to listen, never judge, to hold you and reassure you that we’ll get through this-and anything-together. We’re stronger together baby and I know we’ll do just fine in the grand scheme of things.”
Armin opened his eyes, watching her again but keeping their joined hands close to his heart, so Annie could feel his heartbeat.

Armin usually knew the right words to say that would calm Annie in a heartbeat. But as he talked about the baby as if it was the most welcomed thing Annie couldn't help but feel worse. He was too understanding and even though he reassured her that he would be there, it did nothing to her tight chest. She knew he would be there, she's never doubted it and the thought never even crossed her mind. That's how she knew that Armin was too good for her. When he talked about figuring it out rather than finding a way to get rid of it like Annie had been wanting to do since the moment she found out she was pregnant.
She held on to his hand, moving her free one to his face. She passed it lightly through his growing hair, fingers darting down to slide across his eyebrows, down his nose, and over his lips before finally settling down on his cheek. "You're too good, Armin and I do not deserve you." She whispered with a heavy sigh, eyes full of sadness. There was no way she could get rid of this baby, she knew it. Yes, it was her body and her choice ultimately but with how he was talking- already going on about their future with their child- she knew she couldn't do something like that to him.
Because he was right.
This was a part of the two of them. Some magical thing that they created and how could Annie not want it? When it was as much hers as it was his, how could she just take it away from Armin like that? So she did the only thing she could really do. The only way to be honest with him without telling him that she absolutely didn't want this. Annie couldn't not want it when he wanted it so much so even as she struggled to accept her new condition, she knew she would never do anything to terminate her pregnancy early just because she loved Armin so god damn much she couldn't take this away from him.
She tried arguing, at least to share her opinions and points. "Armin I don't even know the first thing about children or even what I'm supposed to do while one is growing inside of me and I know you say that we'll learn through our mistakes and that parents make those but what if one of my mistakes kills the baby because I just know nothing? All I do is kill things, Armin... What makes you think that I deserve to even give life to a baby? I know you want a child and I know you deserve one but Armin- I don't. Not with how many people I've killed I swear this all has to be some fucked up joke. Annie being pregnant. Annie having a child. It has to be a joke."
She pulled away from him and stared at the floor, not wanting to see his disappointment in her. "I never had a mother and now I'm supposed to be one?" She let out a small laugh, swiping her hands roughly across her cheeks as tears finally fell. She felt so goddamn frustrated and she wished she could be someone else. Anyone else so she could feel like she deserved this. "I hate to say this but all I keep thinking about is how it should be someone else having your child, loving you, being here. Someone else that is as much of a good person as you are."
"And- And... Our parents fucked up so much aren't you scared? Last night I went to sleep thinking about talking to you about getting a pet- a fucking sugar glider and now I'm talking to you about an actual child that I'm supposed to birth and raise and- How are we even supposed to find a doctor? I'm a titan and Marley is gone and I'm not even an actual titan or an actual shifter. Are we supposed to go to a human doctor or a shifter doctor? What if people find out about what we are, Armin, they'll come find us. We aren't normal-" Once glance up at Armin made her hold her mouth shut. Her head dipped down and she covered her face. "I'm so sorry."
But after a second, she dried up her tears and gave out a humorless laugh. "What if- What if it has my fucking nose?"

Armin wished for their bond, to see past Annie’s bright eyes and know exactly what she was feeling or even a inkling would do. But they had talked about it, about not rushing forward with it this time and giving them the time they needed to come to terms with their current situation. It was better when they didn’t constantly know exactly what the other was thinking and saved each other from a lot of pain that without the bond would ease away naturally instead of blowing up out of proportion as it had when they were connected like that.
Armin knew some of Annie’s fears, knew she didn’t feel qualified or worthy of being a mother. Knew that Annie didn’t believe she was a good person even though Armin told her she was, knew her insecurities about her place by his side and his own by her side. But Armin wouldn’t ever imagine Annie’s desire for wanting to abort the baby, he should have if he thought logically but the idea was such a taboo in his mind-when it came to Annie and his child-that Armin wouldn’t even entertain the thought. Like he said, not having the bond and not knowing Annie’s true thoughts saved them from a hell of a lot of hurt. Armin would be devastated had he known, would have to go to his own room of isolation and think on the matter. Even cry at the thought of losing his unborn child...
But would solemnly come back to Annie and tell her that he had no right to speak whether she wanted it or not. That it was her body. He would try and urge her to keep it, of course Armin would do everything in his power to keep this light in the world, but if he saw Annie deteriorating into a empty shell because of the thing growing inside of her...Armin would give up because he loved Annie that much and seeing her losing herself over keeping their baby-even if it was their baby-even if it would kill Armin to do it-he would tell her it was ultimately Annie’s choice.
But since Armin didn’t know the extent of Annie’s thoughts, instead focusing on what he did know, which was her words and the emotions behind her eyes, at how her control finally slipped and the tears came rolling down...Armin still felt a shred of that pain. A growing seed to what she was saying and not saying at the same time. Picking up on everything in between. But forcing that thought away, unable to even acknowledge it.
Instead closing his eyes at her soft touch and leaning his face into her palm, letting his eyes drift back open to stare at her tear stained face and shaking his head at her. Pressing a kiss against the inside of her palm before she slipped away from him again. Armin held firm though, giving Annie the time to let it all out, miserable from the sight of her deep sorrow and fears, from some of the words she was releasing, only to break into a wide grin towards the end.
“Oh Annie, I love your nose, I love the idea of our baby having your nose...baby neither of us is innocent, we did the things we had to, to survive. Plain and simple Annie. You can’t keep holding on to that, you’re gonna have to let it go babygirl. It’s not healthy for us to be holding on to all of that pain and guilt. You don’t kill everything my love, you stayed with those two boys for nine months and controlled yourself just fine. I highly doubt you’ll do something to threaten its life. Just be careful with yourself from now on, it’s not just you in there anymore. And when you give birth, how you’ll give birth, I still keep in contact with New Dawn, I know a few of their medics and Healers, I’m sure they wouldn’t mind doing us a favor.”
“Plus I’m right here, I’ll be with you every step of the way. I’ll protect you and our little ones. If something still ends up happening...well maybe that’s just life, shit happens, babies die...I’m not saying this right am I. Hey, whatever happens, whatever is in store for us, all we can do is try our best. I personally think you’ll be a great mother. Maybe a little rough around the edges but you’ll teach your child to protect themself. You’ll safeguard them from ever having to endure what you went through. What we went through. Yes our parents fucked us over, and definitely weren’t the best role models but that’s the hand we were dealt with, we can make it better for them-we can do better-try at least. That’s all I ask Annie, is for you to try with me.”
Armin rolled his eyes, “Dont start with that, someone better having my child because you’d fuck that person up before ever allowing me to stick my dick in them. Ew, the thought sickens me.” Armin rubbed at her knees, smiling and trying to crack one out of Annie.
“We’ll be okay Annie. Trust me baby. Trust yourself, we’ll get our shit together, we should have nine months eh? I think they’re human? Anyways we have time, not a lot, but we have time. Okay?”

Annie saw the flicker of pain in his eyes. When she calmed down a bit, she saw his eyes searching, reading her, as they always did and she knew if she didn't stop, he'd be able to figure out her unwillingness to go through with this and he would be hurt. Annie loved Armin unconditionally and it fucked with her that she continued to hurt him, regardless of how she was trying. Lately, she was doing better and this... This just had to be another set back, another thing that would test their love for each other. Another thing that felt like the world was against her. Her views already so different from Armin, she felt like this was the ultimate test. of what she was willing and not willing to do for him.
"Okay..." She whispered, drying her tears and nodding.
If this was another test, she wasn't going to fail it too. She wasn't going to let him down again. His words reassured her, in a way, even if she still didn't want it. "Okay." She repeated louder, giving him a weak smile, "But I swear to god I'm going to be so pissed if I suffer for nine months and it comes out with my nose." She said with a shake of her hand, petting the bed besides her so he could get off of his knees. She waited for him to move before rubbing at the red flesh.
"...How about... You call up whoever and we set an appointment to make sure that I'm actually pregnant and that things.. Are okay for now and I go make us breakfast? Then while we eat, I want to show you something and after that we do whatever you want to do- wait... Does this mean I can't work?" She'd been talking about taking another security job or a body guard job for some time now. She liked those types of dangerous things, they thrilled her, especially if she got to get herself in a fight and prove her dominance to stupid humans who judged her purely by her small size. "Does this mean we can't experiment with my shift too? I was looking forward to that..." She complained but shook her head at all of it.
"We'll figure out what we can and cannot do later and I promise to listen to your precautions cause I'm sure there will be a huge list." she teased, bumping his shoulder with hers. "I'll be okay I promise." She wasn't so sure about that one, but she wanted to reassure him, to see him smile and less tensed up. "But before we talk about nursery... Why don't we get better isolation rooms?"

Armin should have felt some relief when Annie whispered her ok’s but all he felt was shadows of guilt digging into his soul. He got up at Annie’s request and sat by her side, smiling at her gentle rubbing at his knees and her strong words. That was his Annie, ever so strong, resilient, and kind even when she herself was probably losing her mind over the baby matter.
Armin curled his arm around Annie’s back, leaning his head against hers, and staring up at the circle window that provided the only light in the room. “Mmm it’s kinda pretty in here, maybe this should be the nursery? No, too far from our room. But yes, better isolation rooms can be done Annie. We still have half this house to decorate, maybe that can be your job? For now-don’t hurt me-we can figure all the rest later, after the doctor appointment, see what you can and can’t do, and play it by ear.”
“You will be okay, Annie.” Armin vowed, trailing light touches against her spine, bringing his gaze back down to smile into Annie’s eyes, she was so beautiful, working so hard to overcome her fears for him...Armin wasn’t stupid, he knew Annie sacrificed a hell of a lot for him and it wasn’t fair for Armin to tell her she now couldn’t even get her job or experiment with her shifts, that she should stay at home and relax, it wasn’t fair any of it, and yet that’s all Armin wanted, for Annie to stay safe, for their child to stay safe.
“Breakfast sounds good babe, but what do you want to show me?” Armin frowned at her, smiling wondering what could she surprise him with now. “I don’t know if I have it in me for any more life changing surprises.” Armin chuckled softly, bending to press a kiss against Annie’s cheek, bringing his other hand up to cup her other cheek and brushing his thumb against her cheekbone. Her eyes were still close to crying again, but fighting to keep clear.
“You’re such a gift to me Annie, I know this is scary and confusing and life altering, but we’ll get through it and hopefully have a precious little bundle of joy that will drive us crazy if it’s anything like us.” Armin brought his forehead forward and touched hers, hoping he could be a pillar of strength for her as Annie was for him.
“I love you Annie Leonhart.” Armin whispered, caressing her hair now, and smiling before he brought his lips down to kiss Annie’s in a feather light touch.

"And I love you, Armin Arlert." Annie mumbled against his lips before placing a second kiss with a hum. She pulled away, looking into his eyes before frowning. "Oh, come on! don't be like that." She huffed, poking his side. "I finally say I'm okay and now you want to be all doubtful." Maybe doubt wasn't what she saw, but she could see some heaviness in his eyes.
She just wanted it to be better.
"You know, I'm going to ignore half of the things you said. Like offering my room to the child or suggesting that I look like someone who likes matching colors and objects to a room. Instead, I'm going to focus on not burning the house down during breakfast and finding the best video so you can't say no. Although I know you won't say no to me." She let out a flamboyant toss of her hair, sarcastically of course. "I just like showing you things anyways."
She sat in the room for a while in silence, trying to gain the courage to be as lighthearted as she was sounding, to put actions to words. But the idea of her being a mother and Armin being a father was just too exhausting and- Annie froze, gasping and covering her mouth with a blush on her face. The realization her mind just came up with made her laugh loudly, leaving her flustered and embarrassed as she got up and started walking from the bed to the door.
With a huff, she waved at him to follow her and waited until he was next to her so she could hold his hand and lead him towards the main living space, chuckling every time she looked at him. She pressed against his side, leaning up on her toes so she could reach his ears a little bit easier. "You know..." She started in a breathy whisper. "This totally gives me a reason to continue calling you daddy."
She was blushing so much at that moment that she had to drop the subject as soon as she brought it up. "Hmmm.... Armin Leonhart or Annie Arlert, which one sounds better, daddy?" She started laughing again, unable to contain herself.

Armin flashed Annie a smile at hearing her saying she loved him too, it always made him grin hearing those precious words. Armin sighed happily against her lips, savoring the feel of her lips for the brief sweet moment it was against his. He chuckled softly at her worrying and tried to push the negative thoughts away, not wanting to give Annie anything more to worry about since she definitely had enough on her plate.
“If you’re okay, I’m okay too.” Armin gave Annie another reassuring smile which wasn’t all that hard since Annie’s words made him feel lighter and happier, “I didn’t suggest we give away our room-I like our bedroom too much for that, but maybe the bedrooms on the same floor. Baby proofing this place is going to be hard, I didn’t even think about that while designing the house. I should have.” Armin frowned at himself, he had wanted a big house yes and had done just that, but in reality, the house in all its glory wasn’t suited for babies. Too many danger areas, high places, sharp corners, even the pool could be dangerous if the baby slipped in and-
Armin shook his head, stopping the nonstop thoughts that he usually had to focus back on Annie. “I’ll never say no to you-unless it’s bad or for our fun time.” Armin winked at her, remembering all the times he’d stop her from climaxing or she him. Those no’s were always very welcomed. Armin found her toss of hair adorably cute and felt a sting of arousal floating through him at the sight of her bare neck being exposed. Armin raised his brow at her gasp, which only made another zing of arousal flow through him, wanting to hear that gasp more breathy and underneath him, and grinned at her holding her mouth.
“What?” Armin asked amusedly, getting up and following after her like the love struck puppy he was, “And what kind of video?” He wouldn’t let her burn down the house while cooking, because he’d be there to watch and help.
Armin shuddered with his new wave of arousal as Annie pressed herself against his side, letting Armin feel the dip of her thighs and the curve of her breasts and when she tippy toed to whisper in his ear, Armin felt his cock harden and twitch even as his face bloomed with a bright reddish blush at those words. His arm snaked around her waist, his fingers slipping across the silky negligee rubbing her hip and his fingers curling towards her stomach.
“Good, because I didn’t want you to stop calling me Daddy and Annie...what are you implying with that? Because it sounds to me like a proposal, Mrs. Arlert. I like that, Mrs. Annie Leonhart-Arlert. I could be Armin Arlert-Leonhart? You take mine I’ll take yours too. Would the babe be Leonhart or Arlert, I’m good with any!” Armin preened, another jolt of happiness spurring through him at the last name topic because people only changed their names like that once they got married right? Was this where Annie was going? Armin had been ring shopping for a while now but still couldn’t find that perfect one.
“...what about the mate bond? We should revisit this topic too since were at it. But later,” Armin rushed, not wanting to overboard Annie again, bringing her towards the end of the hallway toward the elevator and pressing the button. It didn’t take long for it to come up, and Armin drew Annie inside, hitting the first floor and curling his arms around Annie in a snug hug.
“I’ll give Ackerman a call, what are you gonna make for breakfast lovely?” Armin asked gently, brushing his lips against Annie’s forehead and then bending low to kiss at his favorite spot on her neck.

Annie Leonhart was as horrible a cook as anyone could possibly be. They both had already admitted it early on in the relationship. Armin had been a bit more hesitant to do so, always eating whatever plate she handed him because he liked the fact that she tried for him even if she wanted to throw everything away and always ended up making them something in the microwave. It had been great watching him struggle to swallow whatever unedible mush or burned object ended up as a result of her trying. Still, despite her trying with the microwave, she always burned all that too. Even after following instructions, she blamed it on the fact that Armin had gotten them a ridiculously fancy thing that cooked things far faster than the instructions had been made for.
But Armin always helped her and in turn, she just became his cooking assistant. Chopping things up, fetching items for him, plates, and always setting up in whichever room she wanted to eat in. She was happy with this and even more happy that her shortcomings never bothered Armin. As long as she tried, for them, Armin was always happy. It did help that he had fire extinguishers available at all times. So it was only logical that after Annie offered to cook on her own, she was freaking out more about that than the fact that she was pregnant.
She let out a small laugh, shaking her head in disbelief. "You seriously didn't just say 'our fun time' out loud with a serious face, Arlert. I swear you're getting worse and worse by the damn day! and you did say no to me, last time I wanted to cook by myself so you can't take this back or I'll be upset." She was blushing, the memories of their fun times fresh on her mind. But instead of getting too caught up with that, she stared at Armin as he started talking a bit faster.
Annie swore that she could see his brain moving at a rapid speed, lips trying to keep up with the information that she had given him. He was adorable when he got like this, she mused, so adorable she oftentimes said either the weirdest things or the dumbest just to get his brain overworking and his lips moving in one rant or another. So she could watch the excitement in his eyes and the embarrassment when he realized what he was doing. The way he scratched the back of his head and started apologizing to her for boring her even though he possibly never could. So she watched him with a smile as he obsessed over the room, then the video, then the last names, the mate bond and then she grinned as he simmered down. Agreeing to call a doctor and finally, going to the topic of her cooking.
When he kissed her neck, she shivered.
She waited until they got downstairs and grabbed his hand to guide him out the elevator. "How about you go to your study and make your calls and unless the alarm starts ringing you stay away until I come get you, deal?" She left him no room for argument and even as he tried, she pointed in the direction of his office and hummed each time he opened his mouth to talk until he had no option but to leave with a small kiss. Once satisfied, she went to the entertainment room and turned on the television to a short video about sugar gliders then moved to the kitchen.
She didn't want anything heavy to eat and as she looked through what they had, she settled on some biscuits and sausages. After reading through the instructions, she turned on the oven to a temperature a few degrees less than instructed, just in case, and prepped up the biscuits on a tray and the sausages on another. Deciding that she'd try to make them in the oven to not burn them. She got all the other things ready and grabbed her phone to set an alarm. She triple checked to make sure she set the biscuits according to the instructions and by the time the oven beeped to let her know that it was up to temp, she placed the uncooked food inside of it and set her alarm before rushing over to Armin's study.
Without knocking on the door, she opened it to see him sitting in front of a computer. "Everythings okay." she reassured him before he could ask and then quickly moved over to his desk. Shutting the screen and grabbing his phone from his hand, making sure he wasn't on a call and if he was she'd hang up the call before sliding things to the side so she could sit on the best in front of him. "So I was thinking... I won't deny you the last name of Leonhart... But there's nothing to it. However... Arlert? I want our baby to be an Arlert. You've done so much Armin. Saved so many lives, taking down Marley, always caring and being just.. A pillar to those who have lost faith in humanity and that's what I want our baby to be born into. That's what I want to one day be able to be, an Arlert." She was most definitely implying that marriage was on the table but leaving him enough room to figure it out himself. She shrugged and grinned, shifting so he could see up her negligee and smell her arousal.
"But, on to more pressing matters... I think you have about 11 minutes to finish what you started in the elevator with that damn kiss. Think you can do that?" She teased, watching him.
