I'm walking around, thinking that Thea shouldn't come outta the Arena unscathed. And I've come up with two ideas both concerning her leg(s).
1. Have her get a permanent limp, then gain a cane later on to help her walk courtesy of Darren's family.
2. Have her lose both legs while escaping, having nubs, then get some awesome artificial metal legs due to a temp that I could bring in.
I think they're both hood ideas, but I'm so indecisive. Opinions?

I myself would go with #2 only because I would plan on getting her badass even more after she lost both her legs. But remember, having artifical metal legs wouldnt transform into normal legs when she shifts so you will probably be having Thea with awesome legs as a human but she will never shift again.
Or it'll take her a damn long time before shes able to find a way to shift and support her lower body.

I was actually thinking her having like a mixture between wolf and human legs, so that she could actually shift into a white wolf with dark gray metal legs (because who wouldn't be intimidated by that?! some people wouldn't, but meh.) and be like "This ain't gonna hold me back."
But I'd think it'd be a tad unrealistic...

I'd rather her not being able to shift. Or be like Magikarp if she does. XD
Anyone else?

Honestly? I feel like going into the realm of losing her legs completely is just too far. Yes, I'm dark, yes, I'm cruel, but I have standards in almost all situations. There's a certain line that cannot be crossed in my mind and sometimes, it is hard to know when this line is crossed so it's generally understandable if it is crossed but still. I like to call this line the Realistic Tolerance and Effect Level. Now, this level will generally dictate how much a character can realistically handle or how much is too much to throw at a character while still retaining a level of realism. Having her lose both legs, in my mind, would simply be throwing too much at her to be realistic in the end. Also, forgive me if I'm wrong because I'm not completely filled in on the details of the plot, but the Arena is where they're basically fought together like fighting dogs, right? Fight to the death? You have to keep in mind that if at any point she lost her legs during this- she would be unable to fight. This would certainly mean her death because she is unable to fight against people who are just as willing to kill her to stay alive. Then, even if she does not physically lose her legs until later but merely sustains an injury that provokes the amputation of her legs later on, this means that she would have lost functionality almost completely or completely and therefore likely would have died. Now, to have lost them in the escape though- this might be a different matter but it works on the same principle. No doubt there will be people hunting her down, and no doubt the escape will not be easy. Any loss of functionality is more likely to lead to death than just the loss of her legs- no matter how much back up she has in this situation. It's simply not going to work out extremely well on her end in true practice, even if it works out well in mind. If she sustains injury, she'll have to be carried and likely drag anyone else down with her. The only logical thing that would take her legs at that point would be infection, which, isn't logical in this sort of time line at all because she would get treated after the escape and her legs would be saved. I'm not trying to be rude when I say this, I'm just trying to explain it in a way that I judge all of my plot ideas of plot ideas that are thrown out to me. Yes, I get a bit dramatic, and yes I go overboard but the plot ideas do go through rigorous planning and they do have rules on them when I make a choice. XD Not saying you guys need to have the same rules on how you make your own choices and all, I'm just saying my views and how I would do this. So, if you truly want to do something drastic to her legs, I would say sticking to the permanent limp. That way she would have at least had some form of functionality that kept her alive and it's not over the top. If you truly want her to lose a leg, I say losing one leg would be enough not both. That way she can at least hobble out and half-way support herself rather than having all of her weight on a single person and slowing them down which could easily get them both killed.

Brilliant. I've never really thought of that. Lol
Now I'm leaning towards the first option. XD
