(I wasnt sure what to title this lol Ventia only plz) Xandrea sat on the stairs of the gym and looked at the view before her without really seeing it. She figured she'dgo to the gym and clear her head but it only served to make her think even more. She wore black gym shorts and a black sports bra. She usually kept her back covered but no one seemed to be around nowadays, wrapped up in their own lives,so she figured she was safe. The scar left on her back evidence of her own stupidity and was a constant embarrassment. . Things,as far as she knew, has been pretty quiet in the pack. It gave her too much time alone with her thoughts She felt detached from her pack, the pack she considered her family, and she didnt like it. It bothered her because thats how she was growing up and she didnt want to go back to that. She felt like a joke. She was 17 years old and a Beta, but then again Fang was younger than her and a the Alpha. She sghed. She had no interest in anything. What was the point? She subconsciously rubbed her scarred arm and felt the scarred tissue that now rested there. She should have just died or better yet stayed dead. Fang was right, everything he'd said was true. Since she'd completely healed, she's been battling depression. She was unsure of her reason for living even just day to day. The most fun she'd had was during the time of the tournaments and that one time she hung out with Vaas. She didnt know how to be a kid but found it hard to be an adult. She didnt know what to do with herself and she just wanted to go somewhere and cry. She didnt know what to do or what was expected of her. It was like being at NIB all over again but she knew she was free. She wanted to know what her purpose was and what she was supposed to do. She closed her eye as her thoughts overwhelmed her. She held her head in her hands and as a feel of being lost overcame her and tears fell down her face.

Nathaniel had been watching Xandrea for a while. It was something he did a lot to the other members, he'd shift and watch them. Nathaniel was strange when it came to his pack. He loved them. It was the only pack that he entered in his entire life. It was a family for him and family, family was more precious to Nathaniel than he would ever admit. They took him in, even though at that time he hadn’t needed taking in and they made him remember what a family felt like.
What his family felt like. It was why Nathaniel always checked up on everyone. Because even though he didn’t know how to speak to them, he was comforted in the knowledge that they were okay. At least, they were okay.
Xandrea wasn’t. He shifted into loose pants and a clean white shirt before making his way to her. He heard her tears and was reminded of his brothers. Family. She was family and she was crying. Nathaniel didn’t like it.
"Crying doesn’t help Xandrea."

Xandrea's head snapped up when she heard Nathaniel speak to her. That was just great. She felt like crap and he had caught her crying. She was mortified. Her hand went to her arm and she automatically shifted into her hybrid form. Him being there made her want to cry even more but at least her fur covered the scar on her back. She hastily rubbed her eyes and cleaned her face before clearing her throat. She looked at him with overly bright hazel green eyes as she tried to fight back the tears. "Really? I always heard that crying cleanses the soul." She said trying at a joke. She wasnt very good at them and figuredcshe ought to leave the jokes to Andy.
She cleared her throat and rung out her hands. "So,what brings you over this way? A few rounds in the gym?" She asked trying act as if she didnt just have a mini breakdown.

He smiled a little but it soon died down. He walked to the stairs and sat down next to her, not minding the way that she had changed. He still found it remarkable that she was able to do so. At best, he could get his fingers to shift into claws or get his vision to enhance but he wasn’t able to go in between.
He wondered why though, that she shifted. Because of her attire? At some point everyone had seen each other in an almost naked fashion but they were pack. It didn’t matter. Plus, Nathaniel already had his mate. Yes, Xandrea was beautiful and strong in her own way but Nathaniel only saw her as a little sister. Someone that he wanted to protect even though she knew how to handle herself. Probably more than he did. Nathaniel was more of a con man then a fighter. Yes, he fought but he was built for speed not for muscle.
"No, I work out at my place. I was stalking you." Nathaniel commented bluntly, leaning over his knees and staring at her. His eyes bore into hers, trying to figure her out as his body stilled. He didn’t seem to move in those moments, not even breathe as he stared. Then he pulled back a little, touched the stab wound on his neck and then relaxed.
"What's wrong? Does the duels still bother you?"

Xandrea hoped she hadnt weirded him out with her shift. She knew that it could be disconcerting to others even if they didnt say so,but her hybrid form was always preferredover her beast form. She couldnt imagine anyone actually liking either of them though. She rolled her shoulders when the scar between her shoulders began to irritate her. She was comfortable being nude in general but oddly enough self conscious about her beast form,. She wasnt bothered by nate seeing her naked, though that didnt mean she particularly wanted him to, she was more concerned about him seeing the scar that Fang left. It was proof of her embarrassment and naivety. She had duped and it almost cost her her life, but despite it all it wasnt in her nature to give up even when there was nothing else she could do.
She viewed almost all of the males in the pack as family though there was one whom she'd developed a bit of a crush bhut she knew nothing could come of it. Besides, she hadnt seen him in a while. Nate was cute but he was family. She loved him nut not in that way. He was like the cool older brother that younger sisters adored. Drea was startled out of her thoughts when he just stared at her, hard. She didnt know what to say when he,rather bluntly, told her that he was stalking her. "Uhm..." She said with uncertainty. When he leaned bac she let out a breath she didnt knowshe held..
At his question, she looked away from him and rubbed her scarred arm." I dont think its so much the duels as it the weight of the reality of it all." She trailed off unsure whether or not to confide in him what was really bothering her. He was like a brother and the whole thing had been eating at her for months. "Its mostly the fight between me and Fang." She started saying as she decided to confide in him."i should have known that something wasnt right when he spoke along the packlink instead of aloud. Like an idiot i fell for his trick and it nearly cost me my life. I had been so stupid." She said softly on the brink of tears again. She didnt care that she hadnt won the Alpha position or Beta for that matter, any rank in the pack would have been fine with her. No,what bothered her was the fact that someone of the pack hated her so much and would rather see her dead.
She wasnt trying to rehash on something that happened a while ago,but she couldnt stop thinking about it. Despite her best efforts it wrapped itself around her mind securely and burtowed deep. She would expect it from strangers but not her family. She never really had a family and with Nightstar she felt she finally had that but the betrayal was a powerful hurt that she couldn't seem to get over. She sighed and cast him a sideways glance." I guess I'm still bothered by the duels." She said simply.

Nathaniel chuckled, "Sorry for staring, next time I do it just punch me in the arm or something. It's a habit of mine. Guess you can say it’s a bird thing." Nathaniel noticed her breath exhaling and his chuckle continued on to a smile. So he still had the ability to cause people to be weird out and stop. That was probably one of the main reasons why he couldn’t talk to anyone. It wasn’t because he didn’t have anything to say to them; frankly he knew lots of things to say but the way he spoke and positioned his body just didn’t allow him to have a real conversation.
He also blacked out lots of times; he would get lost in his own thoughts and forget that he had someone with him trying to talk with him. Most people hated putting up with that. Mostly females though. Old lovers hated it but Lena, well Lena never cared. All she would do is kiss him to get back at him from drifting off.
He listened to Xandrea speak, not speaking because he knew in his experience that if you kept quiet, the person would continue talking about what was bothering them. He thought of her match with Fang and put two and two together as she spoke. He smiled at her in the end and laughed.
"Well hell, I would be feeling the same way." It was something he would have done, what Fang did. Well not to any of his pack mates but to anyone else? He would. He had done it plenty of times before. You couldn’t win by playing by the rules. You had to play dirty if you wanted to make a living in this world today.
"But I'm not going to talk about this Xandrea. I don’t think this is the correct setting. How about I take you out? We can go into the town by New Dawn and drink. Get your mind off of it." Nathaniel stood up, then turned and held out his hand towards her.
Suddenly a image flashed, a little boy almost identical to Nathaniel was crying over a scraped knee. He was young, barely three years old and looked up towards Nathaniel with his baby blue eyes. Timothy.
The image vanished, leaving Nathaniel shaking and trembling. He smiled at Xandrea though it didn’t meet his eyes. Something about her reminded him too much about his brother. He wasn’t sure if he should stay and enjoy the bitter feeling or leave before his composure collapsed.

Drea gave him a small smile. "It's ok." She said softly."I'll keep that in mind." She was grateful to be able to speak with someone about what was bothering her. She didnt know how much longer she could have kept it to herself. Trusting never came easy for her but life with Nightstar that started to change. They taught her that it was ok to trust people even a little. The whole thing with Fang messed up her head and made her question her self worth and her purpose for living.
Hearing Nate's laughter she started to feel bad and regret saying anything but his words comforted her. Even if she was able to get over the dis ease of her mind and spirit, what was there for her to do? She had nothing to look forward to and;no school, no job, no nothing. What was the point of being resurrected only to almost die again to be saved and live a life that has no purpose? She was very grateful to Nathaniel when he said they werent going to talk about it. She was just happy to know that he would be there to listen when she needed someone to speak to. Though when he mentioned going out for drinks, she became extremely nervous. Her track record with humans wasnt a good one and was the reason she stayed on pack territory. The only exception being the time she went out with Vaas and they went out and killed a couple of humans. Her ears swiveled and her tail flicked nervously. She couldnt be trusted around humans. She saw them as a threat and food. Not to mention she hated them with a passion. She sat and really thought about the offer. Nate was going out of his way to help cheer her up and she wanted company other than her thoughts. She didnt like being alone, it was the reason she wanted to join a pack. But could she really stem off years of of hatred to hang out with her "big brother"? She looked at himas he stood up and reached out his hand to her.Nothing changed unless a some type of effort was made.
She stared at his hand then back at him. She didnt know if she was strong enough to resist the urge to kill humans and she thought she ought to give him a heads up so that he wasnt blindsided by anything she did. She feared he woukd see her in a different, not so nice, light. She was about to speak when she noticed the slight shaking, but he gave her a smile.that didnt meet his eyes. She decided in that moment not to tell him. If he could put aside his own problems and try to help her with her own,the least she could do was curb her behavior in public. She smiled and accepted his hand and stood up. She woukd try to be good. She nervously cleared her throat and flicked her tail before wrapping it around her leg. "You do know that i am only17 and below the legal drinking age, right?" She asked with a lifted brow. "But just give me a minute and I'll be right back." She said going inside to her locker and grabbed some change of clothes and changed..
She wore a pair of black leggings and a white T-shirt with black and grey roses on it. She had a pair of sandals and slipped them on though she preferred to walk barefoot. After a bit she came back out and ran her hands down her pants nervously. She had shifted back to her human human form and stuck her hair in a loose ponytail. "I'm ready if you are." She said softly.

Nathaniel didn’t speak when Xandrea got up. He just nodded and sat back down until she emerged back out of the gym. When she came back, Nathaniel smiled and got up. He shrugged, "Eh, it’s not like we're going to a five-star bar. Plus, those bars are boring. Trust me, been there done that and its nothing special. I like the run down bars the most. Where you can get into drinking contests and alley fights. Now, those bars are the best. Also, I know a guy who works there, so I'm sure I can get him to overlook your age. If that doesn’t happen, then the drinks are on me. They can’t stay anything if I decide to give you my drink." Nathaniel smiled at her before frowning.
"You see, I followed you via wings not tires. So, got any wheels or are we walking?" Nathaniel paused, he didn’t mind walking but it would be quite a hike to the bar. By that time it would be quite late at night and although Nathaniel preferred those hours the most, it was also when the bar was most pack and Nathaniel didn’t like humans too much.
He usually ended up getting into fights with them because something about him always provoked someone to start saying something smart and Nathaniel always finished it by keeping those people bleeding and bloodied.

Drea smiled back at him relaxing a bit."Ook, that sounds like a plan. Though honestly I've never had alcohol before or gone to a bar before so this will be a new experience." She said and noticed his frown. She was about to ask him what was wrong but then he told her and she cringed a little. "Unfortunately, I don't have a vehicle or even know how to drive for that matter. Sadly I haven't done much with my new lease on life." She said twisting her hands nervously. "It looks like we'll be walking." She said with a sigh.
~Meanwhile~ Navia paced back and forth in her condo as she debated what she wanted to do. It's been a minute since she last spoke to her little puppy who was supposed to have found her kitty cat by now. Frustrated, she threw the tv across the room. She wanted her cat and she was way past tired of waiting. She was about to charge out the door when she paused. She had been a "good girl" and figured she'd have a little fun.
She enjoyed the time she had gotten drunk and her puppy had helped her get home.Though now she couldn't remember where her home had been then. but her current home was a nice one. some snooty rich dude had lived there previously and she wanted the condo. She seduced him into letting her come in, which was pretty fun because usually she just killed them on the spot or controlled their mind and walking right in. With him she seduced him and killed him after. She found it funny how he thought that she would mate with him.
Anyway, she decided to flash to the bar that she had met her puppy, planning on having a couple of drinks. She walked inside wearing a skin tight red cocktail dress with matching heels. As soon as she walked in she was greeted by the bartender. "What's up Navi?" He said with a smile.
Navi gave him weird look before it became mischievous. "It depends, how happy are you to see me?" She said practically purring. Jim blushed profusely. "Navi, that was not... Oh never mind." He said with a sigh as she gave him an innocent look. She chuckled and sat at the bar waiting for Jim to give her her drinks.

Nathaniel grinned, running a hand through his hair. He had recently cut it so it was shorter than usual. "Oh trust me, it's going to be fun. Jim's good at mixing his drinks, I'll give the old chap that much. Plus, even if it's your first time, you'll have a reasonable tolerance to alcohol than the human first timers." He shrugged. "I have a car but my house is more towards the west. Pretty far from here so walking will suit us just fine. Plus, I don't mind the company." He smiled at her, softly and then continued walking, making jokes and holding conversation all the way until they arrived at the bar. ~ By the time they were there, night had fallen and it was pretty late. "Well, I guess your first time experience is going to be the real thing." Nathaniel chuckled to himself, knowing that the bar should be reasonably packed right about now.

Drea gave a sheepish grin. The more the spoke of going the more she wanted to go. She nodded her head as she listened to him speak. "Do you think you could teach me how to drive?" She asked. It sounded interesting and possibly fun. She used to have a fear of vehicles because whenever it was time for her to get into one, it was never for anything good. But she lost her fear when her "sister/guardian" used to blow them up for fun, showing Drea that there was no reason to fear them. Though after being hit by one she had found it better to just have a healthy respect for them and stay away. It was the reason why she went every where on foot.
But she had seen how excited others girls became at the prospect of driving one and so she was curious about the whole experience. She smiled when he mentioned not minding her company. She really enjoyed her walk with him all the way to the bar,her melancholy thoughts left on the steps of the gym.
~~
When they arrived at the bar, Drea became a little nervous and Nathaniel's words didn't help any. She could smell all the humans that were there and let out a low soft growl. Her eyes began to dilate, her fangs elongated, her claws came out, and the soft stripes along her skin began to become more visible. She fought to keep from shifting but it was really hard. She cast a glance over at Nathaniel's chuckle and fought harder to control herself. She had told herself that she was going to try and curb her urges because she wanted tio have fun with him.
"I...I'm sorry. Please give me a moment." She said and turned away from him. She took several deep breaths and forced herself to calm down. Everything was going to be fine. They would have a few drinks and have fun. Nothing was going to happen. She kept telling herself that as she took deep calming breaths. She could feel herself calming down as she repeated the mantra. When she felt the urge to shift fade she waited a moment before she turned back to Nathaniel blushing profusely. She cleared her throat. "I think I'm good now." She said with a sheepish smile.
She would hold her peace unless approached the wrong way, then well she couldn't be at fault for what happens.
~*~
Xanavia tossed back a shot of vodka and grinned. She liked the taste of alcohol, though since she began to come to the bar quite regularly, she had built a rather strong tolerance for the stuff and it began to get harder and harder for her to get drunk. It didn't stop her from trying. She wanted to feel the way she did when she first tasted it but sadly couldnt seen to get there.
Jim gave her a crazy look as he wiped up the bar. "Navi, you aint human." He said as he watched her. Her grin fade and she looked at him. "Who told you that?" She asked in a deadly serious voice. it was quiet a moment as he just stared at her with confusion. After a moment he laughed. "Navi, you play around to much. It almost sounded as if you were serious." He said and made her another drink before heading off to another patron. As usual they had quite the crowd this evening.
Navi touched his mind to see what was going through it. He thought she was inhuman because of her high tolerance for alcohol. 'Any normal person would have alcohol poisoning by now' She tilted her head curiously wondering what was alcohol poisoning and if she could used it against her enemies. Sheh continued to read his mind for a moment but then decided he was clean.
It would have sucked if she had to kill him because she had grown fond of him. She turned to look at all the humans that were there getting drunk and rowdy. They were entertaining when intoxicated.

Nathaniel looked at Xandrea and stared. He wasn’t really looking at her; he was drifting off again and thinking of Lena and how she had become so distant. Xandrea had trigger it by asking him how to drive, he remembered their first official date before everything went downhill and remembered trying to show off with that stupid new car he had bought even though it confused the hell out of him and he had to spend at least three weeks before actually figuring out how to work the damn thing. His truck was less confusing and more comfortable; Nathaniel ended up selling the other one and getting back more money from it then he paid. "Uh," Nathaniel shook his head, rubbed his eyes and nodded at her. He didn’t try to smile because well he couldn’t now that he was thinking of his situation with Lena. "Sure, it's hard and your ears will pick up on the tiniest things that make you think that the car is about to explode but you'll get used to it eventually. Plus, if you put the music up loud enough then you should be okay. At least, that’s how I do it." ~ "Not at all, take your time." He didn’t mind, he was used to humans from how he grew up and knew how to outsmart them so he wasn’t afraid of humans. They were just people who he could bride and make money off. "I'm going to take a smoke, I would offer you one but I don’t want to be a bad influence." Then he crossed the street, saw someone smoking and then went up to them and asked for one. The person was kind enough and even lit it for Nathaniel, he thanked the man before crossing the road again towards Xandrea but not getting close in case she didn’t like the smell of the cigarette. "It takes the edge off for some people," he blew out at the opposite direction of Xandrea "but I just like the way they taste. Bitter sometimes but good. Sorry if it’s bothering you." He took a few more breaths of the cigarette before scraping off the lit part on a tree, saving the last bit later by placing the half cigarette on his ear. "Alright, let’s go. After you," He nodded across the street, waiting for Xandrea to go so he could follow.

Xandrea listened to him speak curiously but stayed quiet. She appreciated Nathaniel not getting too close with the cigarette, the acrid scent of it bugged her nose. "Its ok." She said simply. She looked across the street and took a deep breath and proceeded to walk across the street street to the bar. She paused and stiffened once she was on the other side. There were a group of people who walked ou t stumbling over themselves and laughing. They reeked but looked as if they were having so much fun. She cast a glance over at Nathaniel before looking forward once more.
Hesitantly she went inside, with an iron grip on impulse. There were a lot of humans in there causing her to tighten her grip. No one seemed to pay her any real attention as they focused on some woman in a red dress. She dismissed it as she walked further inside. She was nervous but hid it well. The scent of the humans, puke and alcohol was rather strong to her. She didnt smell much else besides that. "Wow, you were right Nate. There is a lot of people here." She said and turned to look at him.
~*~
Navi had been sitting at the bar a groups of males came in loud and boisterous. She had at the bar for about ten minutes and was watching them with a smile. When they started a drinking contest,Jim came over to stand beside her and statrted talking. "You know,i think you would drink them all under the table." He said jokingly before walking away to another patron. Navi sat there and thought about it for a minute before going over to the group.
"Hello guys. I see you have a contest going,i wanna join yo,is that ok?" She asked leaning on their table using her womanly wiles to get their attention. They laughed amongst each before looking back at her.
"Sure you can join we play for cash. So are you gonna put up or shut up?" He asked. Though one of his friends spoke up. "But if you dont have any money on you,i have another form of payment in mind. " he chuckled and high fived his other friend. Navi merely smiled and leaned even further on the table. "Give me what ya got big boy." She purred and there was a cheer that went through the bar as they watched to see if the small woman could out drink the group of men. Brts were being made and she became gittery with excitement.

Nathaniel chuckled, the cigarette causing him to stop thinking of his mate and enjoying the night. "Yeah but don’t worry, we can get a seat by the bar at the back. Less people there and you can actually breathe without all the scents bugging your nose." He had noticed her fists while they were walking in. His eyes were trained on Xandrea after all so of course he noticed the way her body went stiffed.
She was fine during the walk so he suspected that it had to be the humans. He moved her along, pushing against people who were in his way and glaring at them when they tried saying something. There were no seats at the back, they were all taken but Nathaniel placed a hundred for each man to get up, they argued but they were regulars and they knew exactly who Nathaniel was so they left.
It’s been a while since he had come to this bar, he basically used to come daily after he was revived. But then he had met Lena and he stopped coming since every time he came, he would buy drugs from his hook up and since Nathaniel didn’t want Lena to know that he took the drugs, he stopped coming. Now? Well Lena wasn’t there to stop him and well it was the only bar he was well known and therefore Xandrea's first experience should go smoothly.
Nathaniel sat, stretched out his legs and leaned into the chair. He smirked at Xandrea, wondering if she disapproved for his methods of gaining a seat. "What would you like to drink? Something smooth or what? I like Bacardi the most but that’s just me. Have you ever had a beer yet? Parrot Bay makes soft drinks as well, I'm sure Jim has some in stock." Parrot Bay made smooth and light alcohol; he usually had them on days when he was just relaxing. Though Nathaniel never relaxed these days and was only drinker stronger stuff.

Xandrea was happy when they had finally made it to a seat. Having so many people pushing up against her made her grip she had on her animalistic urges, to slip. But she made it without killing anybody, she was kind of proud of herself. Her gaze fell to Nathaniel when he smirked and asked her what she wanted to drink. "Uhm, I don't know something smooth I guess." She said looking around. "No I haven't had a beer yet. Ok, Parrot bay sounds pretty good. I can give it a try." She said with a small smile.
Jim saw another of his patrons walk in with a girl who looked under age. Sighing he walked over to them, maneuvering around the many bodies that were there. As he walked over he placed his towel over his shoulder. "Hey Nathaniel, What's up?" He asked then turned to Drea. "Do you have some ID?" he asked her with a lifted brow. "Nathan you know I don't allow minors in here." He said. ~*~
Navi was on her twelfth drink and had drunk several of the men under the table; she was still pretty sober. "Ha! chumps." She boasted and took two more shots. One of the guys frowned at her. "What the hell woman?" He said slurring his words and slid in to a nearby seat. Navi laughed. "Don't be a sore loser, I will enjoy spending your money." She said laughing.
