Slowly I opened my eyes and stretched my limbs; I felt wierd. It took a moment to realize that I was in a different position than I had been when I fell asleep. It was then that I realized that my muzzle was pure white and followed closely on the heels of that realization was the fact that I was in my wolf form. I quickly gained my feet and checked myself over.
I was covered in pure white fur. I frantically looked around though what I was looking for I wasnt exactly sure of yet. This wasnt my body and some freaky stuff was going. My eyes landed on the bed and I saw myself sprawled out on the bed and snoring slightly. I tilted my in amusement as I looked at myself. It was so surreal. I looked around for Tu'tanka wondering where he had gone. He usually slept on the bed with me, but i guess he decided to go for a stroll or something. It was why I kept the side door open so that he could come and go.
I slowly began to accept what was happening as a dream. There was just no way for me to be in two places at once. As i relaxed i began to fully allow my senses to spread and take everything in. As always his senses were heightened, but this time there seemed to be something more. Just like the feeling I had earlier, I couldn't put my finger on it but it was new for me. I walked into the living room and towards the sliding side door. I could smell Tutanka's scent all around it, though it was hours old. I continued on through the door and headed towards the forest.
It was as if my feet had a mind of their own and knew exactly where they were going. On large white paws I loped through the trees with a silly grin on my face as the feeling of being wild and free hit me. The stars were almost obscured by the treetops that soon gave way to an open field where there was no hiding their brilliance. In the distance, on the other side of the forest, a lone howl rang out. Somehow I recognized it and at the same time I didn't, though I couldn't stop my tail from wagging or the excitement from filling me at the prospect of being with the wolf the howl belonged to.
Without thought, I gave an answering howl and trotted off into the field. From the tree tops on the other side a wolf trotted from the trees. It was a beautiful chest nut brown and creamed female wolf with amber eyes with a slightly curved belly. I happily picked up my pace and ran to her giving little yips here and there. She bound over to me and we circled each other. I sniffed her up and down as she did the same to me. The scent of forest clung heavily to her fur as did the scent of a different pack. She lightly pawed my face and I gave her a light nip. From then on we played until we were tired and panting as we lay in the field nuzzling one another.
I didn't know exactly who this female was but she seemed very familiar. The sound of growling brought my attention to the tree line where the female had come from. My hackles raised and I stood up protectively in front of her. The male wasn't a stranger and I had the vague impression that he and I had had a run in before over the female. She lay hunkered down and whined. For some reason her whine fueled my anger and aggression at the other male.
I stepped away from her and snarled at the male who snarled back. We circled one another, eyes flashing, teeth bared. I was sure to keep him away from the female because I had a gut feeling that if I didn't, he would hurt her. When the wolf lunged at me, I dodge him before lunging at his exposed backside. We fell to the ground tearing into each other the air was filled with snarling and growling as well as the coppery scent of blood. I was in pain but I wasn't about to give the other male any type of opening to do more damage. He was about to let up and neither was I.
Soon I could feel my strength waning as the pain mounted. With determination, I pushed the male back and we grappled for a bit. I managed to pinned the male down with my teeth pressing into his throat in warning. I growled for him to submit, but he snarled and tried to get up. With an answering snarl, I proceeded to rip out his throat. When I had finished, I turned to the scared female and nuzzled her. She returned the gesture and began to lick the blood from face and the began cleaning my wounds. Seeing her safe had a wolfish grin claiming my lips.
I playfully pushed her away and trotted away back towards the trees towards a stream. I wasn't sure how I knew but I knew there was a stream nearby and headed for it. I wanted to wash the blood from my fur. I could hear the lighter and softer footsteps of the following behind me and I grinned, or at least gave the impression of grinning. I was happy to have her with me despite the fact that each step sent pain shooting through me. When we reached the stream, I went as far as I could go and put my face in the water to wash the blood away. The female looked at me curiously and I paused to looked at her. She was pretty the way she sat there and watched me. I gave a playful yip and laid down the water.
She made a sound that could have passed for a scoff or grunt and I looked at her with my head tilted wondering why she didn't want to join me. I lapped up some of the water before trotting over to her. She looked at me with uncertainty and I couldn't help but laugh inwardly as she slowly backed away. I stopped my forward movements and shook the water from my fur. Growling softly she trotted away and laid down giving me a pointed look. Inwardly I chuckled before going over to her and laid beside her. When she snuggled beside me I flinched because she rubbed against my wounds. I laid with her until she fell asleep.
I could feel myself dozing off to sleep and so with a yawn, I stood to my feet and looked down at her. I was a bit sad at the thought of leaving her but she would be safe, now. The need to go home and stay with her warred with one another making it hard to leave her. I finally managed to tear myself away from her and headed back to the house. When I reached the porch, I paused not wanting to track the forest in the house. Though I was rather tired and it seemed as though the sun was beginning to rise. With a big yawn I laid in front of the sliding door and licked my wounds before falling asleep.

Yawning, I stretched and rolled over burying my face in my pillow. I felt like myself and things seemed back to normal. I sat up in my bed and looked around. I noticed that Tanka wasn't in the room and shrugged. It was normal for the wolf not to be there when he woke, but he usually came in when I started cooking breakfast. With another big yawn, I groggily scratched my head before going to the bathroom. When I came back I dived into my bed and buried my head in my pillow again. "That was a crazy weird dream." I mumbled and pulled the covers up.
Kymani gave a grunted reply as if he were in thought. I sat up straight as I realized why my dream had been so weird. "Kymani!" I said loudly and chuckled before laying back down. 'What?!' He growled. "Oh nothing." I said grinning. Kymani wasn't in my dream, that's what was missing in my dream, my grumpy pain in the ass wolf spirit. Shaking my head, I went back to sleep but this time I did have that weird dream.
