This is the death of one of my characters, Ellie Fare. It is small, yes. Undetailed. Forgive me for this. It's mainly because I was partially lost on how to explain her shift. Well, lack off.
Enjoy.
Her neck wound healed within the day. She felt a bit off and low on energy but she was sure that was due to blood loss. By the time that Vaas made food and fed her, she was feeling fine again. The day after that, she felt wonderful. She had so much energy that she couldn't sit still. Two days after she was still the same way. She was running here and there, she felt like climbing, swimming. Sitting still made her feel uneasy. Her heart was constantly speeding and she couldn't get herself under control.
It wasn't until after the forth day that she started crashing. Feeling dizzy and sick. She'd feel cold one second and hot the next. She was moody and broke into a high fever. She couldn't move, the fever was too much and even with Vaas' care, she couldn't feel it getting any better. She got sicker and sicker and then one day, she woke up from a nap to a sharp pain on her hands. Then a pain in her side. The pain spread and she found herself trying to curl up. Her body was having spasms and she could see something crawling under her skin every time she looked at herself. She was undergoing her first shift and she knew it'd be the worse according to Vaas but she was so tired and so sick she wasn't listening to his advice and her body was fighting against everything.
Her head throbbed so much that he could literally be in front of her face and she wouldn't see him or even hear him. She was consumed in all the pain and once a wave would die, she'd feel like she couldn't breathe and she was going to die, something worse would happen. There was so much pain that she collapsed. Pain. Pain. Pain. The fear of dying once again returned and that's exactly what she felt. Like she was dying.
She was dying because she wanted to be more then she could be. She wanted to be someone that could protect him, love him, and make him feel safe. She wanted to be equal to him and she wanted to be enough for him. She wanted to understand everything about him and it was that greed that was now the end of it. They played all the cards but still lost and Ellie knew that she was going to die. She feared it but selfishly forgot it in an attempt to pretend that she was better then that. People never really believed that certain things would happen to them. But they did.
Pain.
It was all she knew when she took her last breath.
