(( Ventia)) Sybil Henderson was a cashier at a local grocery store. They had cheap prices, off-brand ravioli cans, and somewhat bright attitudes. Compared to big stores, like Wal-Mart, they didn't get much business. But on the days before the holidays? It was nothing but busy. Thankfully, it was the day after the holidays. And so Sybil, having no one to check out, was straightening some aisles. Meaning she had a cart in front of her, scrutinizing the shelves to make sure all the items were at the front, labels facing outward; there wasn't any items outside of their designated stations; and there were no boxes that needed to be taken back to the box bailer. Her cart was mostly full with boxes. It got pretty difficult to maneuver around without hitting somebody with a piece of cardboard sticking out. So she left the cart against one side of the aisle she was currently working on to go on the other side. She needed to straighten the group of cans – someone decided it would be fun to mix up all of them. The carrots were with the peas and the potatoes mingled with the asparagus. Sybil wouldn't have a problem with it if she wasn't five-foot-four. Sighing at her fate, she made sure that her uniform shirt didn't ride up over her khaki pants. After that, she started moving cans where they needed to be. We really need a step-stool, Sybil thought, pursing her lips in concentration as she reached for a particularly stubborn, out of reach, non perishable food item.

It was the day after Thanksgiving and Ruby was hungry. Not that she didn't have any food at the house-Timothy and his wife, Avery had invited them over to their house for a Thanksgiving dinner (or feast more like) and had made sure that they had containers of some left over food when both she and Killian walked out their door.
It was...nice. Killian and Ruby never really had a traditional Thanksgiving. When their parents were still with them, they barely even knew it existed. After they were gone? They didn't see the point of such a happy holiday. Holidays were for everyone else-not the Constantines. But it seemed that the females who loved the Constantines, had changed that. Avery changed Timothy and Jewel changed Nathaniel to which Ruby and Killian found out that they were more like them before they found the love of their lives.
So she left the house still feeling pretty good, hell, she even smiled at the first gent she saw. Why was she here? Because a little asshole decided to eat all the flan. So? She was going to buy some more. Hungry for dessert. Not that a supermarket brand could rival Avery's. But it'll have to do.
She eased through one of the isles to get to the back, running her fingers through her short hair which seemed to be another shared habit of the Constantine siblings, when she noticed a girl. She maneuver over the cart and when she noticed the pale fingers reaching for a can, her feet moved in her direction until Ruby was directly behind her, for a second she was amazed at the height difference (she had a thing for short girls) and then it passed and Ruby reached up, her long arm easily grabbing the can that the employee couldn't reach.
"Here you go, cutie." Ruby whispered against her neck before stepping back and holding out the can, a small smirk playing on her lips.

There was a couple reasons why she didn't know there was a customer behind her.
One: she was a human.
Two: she was solely concentrated on her task.
So when her exposed neck (she had her hair in a side braid, as usual) felt a warm whisper she squeaked and turned around to see who did that.
At first, she thought it was one of the pervy guys that came in every so often – after all, Sybil was only hit on by old men that liked young girls (it didn't help she looked fourteen) and young boys that like older girls. Of course, it was always easy to ward them away by saying, "I have a boyfriend."
But this?
Okay. Log story short she was bisexual. Which was bad. Very bad. Though never had a girl save for her mother call her "cutie". This was uncharted territory. She didn't know how to handle this. Internally at least.
Externally?
"Thank you, Ma'am," she replied, reaching to pluck the can from Ruby's fingers. "Are you finding everything okay?"

"'Ma'am' huh? No one calls me that unless they're feeling kinky." Ruby chuckled and held the can a little farther away, finding it that she wanted to tease the girl a little while more.
Alexa, her girlfriend (not that that was a good word to define their relationship) at the moment was being a pain. Ruby enjoyed a females company and had to say, that the way this Sybil girl turned around so quickly and squeaked-well it was pretty cute. Ruby liked cute things.
"Well I certainly found what you're looking for." Ruby winked and then surrendered the can. "Peas aren't my thing. So you can have that back. Now? You on the other hand. Well. I'll just love to have a tasting."
Maybe it was because she looked to innocent that made Ruby wanted to tease her. Yea. Ruby had a twisted mind sometimes. Teasing little girls with innuendos happened to be one of them.
"Matter of fact, yes, you can help me. I'm looking for some desserts. Flan specifically." Ruby smiled innocently. "Care to show me the way, cupcake?"

Sybil, despite living in a very conservative home, knew what kinky meant. She went to school at a local community college before she went off to university. Her class mates were what you would consider immature. Her friends (people that her parents would never approve of. EVER) translated for her. Explained to her how sex worked. How good it felt with the right person. Etcetera. And in return she helped them with their classes.
Although it felt wrong of her to know what Ruby meant when she dropped innuendoes, she did. At the kinky comment, she laughed awkwardly. "Oh, I don't taste very good," she replied, her smile more like a grimace as she grabbed the can before Ruby can snatch it away again.
When she heard no innuendo the third time, she nodded, feeling relieved. "I don't think we have flan." Truth be told she never had any of it. Never heard of it, she didn't believe. "But I'm sure we have the ingredients to make it. I'll be happy to tell you where they are if I knew what was in it."
She wasn't going to show her the way.

Ruby blinked at her remark (well well well, that was the last time she labeled a chick as innocent) and then slowly her lips twisted upwards as something deeper than just amusement filled her gaze. "Oh? You don't now? Is that a personal opinion?" The thought of this innocent looking girl tasting herself-which altogether was a provocative image-caused her loins to clench in want. Really? Was this girl aware of how...edible she was to Ruby even more so now after that statement?
"I'm sure a second opinion would advice. We tend to be more cruel on judging ourselves than others and I have a great feeling that you've been a tad too harsh on yourself." Ruby winked, thinking that she was cute even when she grimaced.
"Oh I don't know the ingredients, even if I did, I don't have the patience for cooking. Not that I can't, just when I do, everything needs to be perfect. And I hardly see the point in cooking for just myself." Ruby shrugged, and then glanced around.
"So no flan? Any desserts at all or are you it? Not that I'll complain with you has dessert but I'm pretty sure you don't give out free tastings." Ruby grinned, light flecks of yellow filling her dark gaze.

Sybil might know what innuendos were, though since she was quite inexperienced yet, it took her an innocent reply of, "Yep, it is," to understand what Ruby was getting.
By the time she realized she walked into that one, her back was turned to put the can of peas back up on the shelf. Her face felt hot, even her ears were bright red. She couldn't help but move her body a bit to look at Ruby and her "second opinion" in utter shock, then turn back around when she winked.
That wink … it did something to her. Something she was too afraid of to explain. Because if she tried to explain it, then she would have to acknowledge she was … attracted to both genders. With the way her parents are, she couldn't have that. With her faith, she WOULDN'T have that.
"I consider myself as a human being," she turned back around as she spoke carefully and dutifully did not say that she did not give our free tastings. She moved to the cart that was on the other side of the aisle, giving Ruby a wide, yet unnoticeable, berth to get her cart. "Not desert. But cake and cookie mixes are on the next aisle over. And we have frozen pie and cheesecake in the freezers on the other side of the store."
A beep interrupted the music that was playing, making her stop what she was doing to see what the person that was fixing to speak had to say.
"Sybil, come help check please," said one of her co-workers.
It took all she had not to sigh with relief and do a jig. This woman behind her was making her feel things she'd rather not feel. "Anything else you need help with before I leave?" she asked, studiously moving the boxes to where they don't fall out of the cart.
It was a good thing she kept herself busy; if she saw the yellow flecks I her eyes she might have freaked out.

Ruby chuckled low at the scarlet look to Sybil's face and ears. The ears...well Ruby just loved it when someone blushed. If she was feeling super naughty, Ruby might have bent over and nibbled on that flushed flesh. But then she would have certainly been charged with sexual harassment (even now she still could) not that it bothered her by any means. She had a few 'friends' on the force. Unlike Killian whom was most often then not in handcuffs, with Ruby? The police officers were the ones cuffed. Call it a gift eh.
"Sorry cupcake. You're just to delicious to not tease. Never meant to make you feel like you weren't a human being. Shouldn't have taken it that far, but you're just too cute to resist. You have my sincerest apology. It was lovely meeting you cupcake. I'll take those frozen cheesecakes."
"Next time you need help getting some peas, I hope I'll be there to assist you once again. Until then, cupcake." Ruby winked once more at the cute employee and then with her fingers in her pockets, walked to the other side of the store. Whistling a happy tune.
Twenty minutes later, after finding the cheesecake and flirting with yet another cute employee, Ruby was waiting in line (picking the one where she spied Sybil just to see if she could get her to blush once more) and then placed one large cheesecake next to Sybil.
"Ooh. Fancy meeting you here cupcake." Ruby chuckled and leaned against the register while she did her thing. "Can't say I don't love seeing you stretching out in front of me rather than have this big machine between us." She winked and then frowned when suddenly a man came from behind Sybil and wrapped a arm around her waist.
"Hello beautiful. You're looking lovely as ever today." Lane whispered even when he sent daring daggers to Ruby, as if that would stop her.
"What's this about stretching?" His voice sounded sweet and just curious but maybe it was due to her past, but Ruby caught that possessiveness he had for Sybil amongst other things and it made Ruby want to pull the innocent gal away. Knowing only pain would follow this man.
Takes one to know one after all.

Sybil was quiet, her face pale as she went to go do another part of her job. She dropped the cart of boxes by the doors that led to the "Employees Only" section of the back door, catching a glimpse of Ruby flirting with Rayna, who could only laugh and roll her eyes. Rayna had worked at the grocery store for roughly two years. She's gotten used to being hit on, customer complaints, and even worked in the back unloading the trucks they get.
Then after that she moved behind her register, moving items across the scanner and spouting prices. Sybil was highly hoping that Ruby wouldn't come through her line. But it was inevitable. She avoided eye contact, heart fluttering in nervousness.
Not to mention she hated being called cupcake. If she were a dessert she'd rather be a pirouline. Those were good. Though if she told this woman that she'd be harassed even more.
She jumped a little, feeling an arm around her waist. But soon her body relaxed against Lane at his voice. Sybil's told him twice already that he shouldn't be so intimate, but with the man stuff like that just went over his head. At least he didn't do it in front of her parents. They would have a fit if they saw how Lane and Sybil were standing.
If Ruby were paying attention she would see behind her a worker in her thirties make a motion: hands clawed, palms faced inward toward each other as if she were strangling the guy's neck.
Needless to say, Wanda cannot stand the man.
Sybil shrugged, relieved. Maybe if Ruby saw that Lane was her boyfriend, she would stop making her feel uncomfortable. "It's nothing," she replied. If it's one thing, though, that she did not want, it's Lane puffing out his chest and acting like an animal. And being on the spotlight. "Three-fifty-six, please."

Ruby glanced at Sybil once again and started opening the wallet that was in her pocket. She didn't do purses. Just wasn't her thing. Just like saving oblivious and pure girls-even if they were attractive enough to gain Ruby's eye-wasn't her thing either. She couldn't save herself. How could she save someone else.
The poor girl would soon unmask the man's true nature. It was just sad to know that someone so light would be ruin because of this cruel world and bastards like that man holding her.
But then again, maybe her ego was just busted. The girl she was flirting with hadn't given her her number. Not to mention, besides from blushing-she didn't seem to be affected by Ruby. The boyfriend could be completely harmless. Ruby was just brooding.
"Cheap." Ruby commented, gathering the money and ignoring the smug smile her boyfriend had. Or maybe he was a bastard. Ugh. Ruby felt the natural instinct to grab Sybil away from her. It was growing with every second. But, she ignored it. Wasn't her place. Wasn't her thing. After all, maybe she was worse than the bastard next to her. She wasn't a angel. More like a little devil. Maybe Sybil would be safer with the boy.
Lane smiled watching the head bowed woman in front of him. He was possessive over Sybil, after all, he had a pretty good feeling that she was the one. After all the people who disappointed him. Someone as sweet and beautiful as Sybil just had to be the one. To be his mate. God, he couldn't wait to change her. To feel those tingles. To know, he had found his mate.
"Here you go, keep the change." Ruby smiled, "It was nice meeting you cupcake. I'll see you around." She winked at Sybil and took her cheesecake and was on her way out.
Lane chuckled, "Who was that?"

"Mmhmm," Sybil murmured distractedly. It went against her parents rules for the couple to even be touching. But it was just a simple hug from behind. Something that she found no harm in nor hurt in Lane's habits. He explained that he needed contact. It was a psychological need. The girl, obviously oblivious to the reason why he needed contact, was more than willing to give him something as innocent as this.
She took Ruby's money, typed in the amount on her screen, then let the computer do the rest of the calculations. She started to pull out her change, but at the mention of her keeping it, she left it in her till. Her hands crumpled the receipt up, then threw it with precision in the little trash can by her.
"Have a good day –" she cut herself off at the end, remembering their talk about kinkiness. She felt the slight blush creeping up her neck. But after a few moments it receded.
"I–I don't know," she said truthfully, shrugging a shoulder. And she didn't admit this to her boyfriend. Couldn't even admit this to herself. But she was … curious about Ruby. And a small, very small part of her did want to see her again sometime.
"But it's no one you need to worry about, Lane," she reassured, turning around in his arms and smiling a bit. The last time someone hit on Sybil and Lane was there to witness it, he got banned from the local McDonald's. Not only had it been embarrassing, but the police were called – it was a whole big thing that she never wanted to relive again.

"Hmm," Lane frowned at the sight of Ruby leaving the supermarket but at Sybil's words, he glanced away from the exit and stared down at her, finding himself smiling. "Alright, if you say it's nothing, it's nothing. I won't worry after all, I know i have a loyal girlfriend. I'm not stressing." He moved back from her, now that the threat was gone. He knew Sybil didn't like all of that physical touching in public and usually he tried respecting that but well. He didn't like that woman.
Whom didn't even look like a woman. What was up with that short hair? The style looked more like a mans. And all those tattoos. Wasn't ladylike at all. Not even feminine. And the way she dress? Lane mentally shook his head but stared down at Sybil and his smile came back. Now, Sybil looked like a girl should look. Pretty. Timid. Fragile. Obedient. Loyal. Just...perfect. He couldn't wait to feel the tingles when he changed her.
He rubbed her arm and gave a respectable peck on her cheek before stepping even more back, letting her have her personal bubble. "So, besides from that man-she, how was your day?"
About ten minutes later, Ruby was letting herself in the apartment she and Killian shared-though these days it was more her apartment then Killian's. It was only random days like today when Killian was hanging around here waiting for Brooklyn to get off of work. ((After all, we made this before Cake))
"What's the matter?"
"What?" Ruby snapped as she placed down the cheesecake on the counter top.
Killian chuckled, "You look like you want to punch something, that's what."
Lane immediately popped into her head and she narrowed her gaze. Then she shook her head, reminding herself that she was probably worse than that douchebag and then she placed a smile on her face. "Whatever do you mean? Nothing happened. I just got some cheesecake."
"Sureeee bob."
Ruby raised a eyebrow. "Talking about 'bob'. Isn't it time to pick up your Kitten?"
Killian glanced down at his watch and cursed, hurrying to get all his stuff and leave.
"Hm. Exactly. Who's the bitch now."
"Shut up. I'm protecting her." And then he was gone. Leaving Ruby alone. She shook her head and laughed.
"Talk about being whipped." Then? She grabbed her cheesecake and called over her booty call. She suddenly felt like she needed a release. Sybil came to mind then in the upmost erotic way, sweaty and begging beneath her and Ruby cursed outloud.
"I need a cold shower. God damn it."
