( Ventia and Jewel) Anthony leaned against his car as he waited on the girl to come along. He wore a pair black jeans and a white wifebeater and had his dreads pulled back. He'd never met or seen her before and wondered how she would handle herself. Raider seemed to be sweet on her or so he heard and Anthony wondered if it had anything to do with the seperation between him and Lala. She seemed to be growing pretty close to Evera which shocked the hell out of him. The girl still hadnt spoken to him since she been there, no doubt still feeling like he abandoned her. He gave a frustrated sigh. He didnt know what he could do to make it up to her or to convince her that they hadnt abandoned her. Hell she barely even spoke to Foxxy and that was hurting the little Fox even if she wouldnt admit it. He wasnt one to meddle in other people's private affairs as long as it didnt endanger his pack nor his family. As he waited for Calypso to he remembered th econversation that he'd had with Voss when discussing her trial. He'd told him that from what he could see she was pretty good with children andthought the role of Omega would be a good one for her to start out with. Anthony was fine with it, trusting Voss's judgement. Anthony was initially insure how to go about setting up her trial because they had no children for her to interact with. Then he'd seen Eliora, the woman always looked as if she wanted to devour his soul, and he remembered her children. He'd called and spoken with Alexanderabout her possibly watching them. The damn bear was as stubborn as a mule and didnt want strangers around them. But Anthony reassured him that she would be watched the entire time and that they would be safe. Alex had snarled but reluctantly agreed. Now here he stood at his car waiting on Calypso to arrive. He looked down at his watch before folding his arms. Alex and Jason had already left meaning Sia would have to supply a babysitter until they got there. Awesome. He sighed again and closed his eyes. He didnt even open his eyes when he heard th efootsteps of someone approaching. ~*~ Alexander and Jason both had to head out on jobs to cover their expenses at the Palace. They had to get things situated for when they left for New Dawn. Alexander wasnt too keen on going but Jason wouldnt let him rest until he agreed to take the children to their father. Jason insisted that it was what Eliora had wanted and that argument alone is what finally persuaded him to agree. That and Sia had made it known that they couldnt continue to stay therewithout paying. Oh the pups were fine, it was he and Jason that were not. Alexander had wanted to stay until Anthony and the girl had gotten there but he couldnt and so he growled all the way out the door. The pups were left in the care of their normal babysitters. After they had terrorized poor Octavian, they were a bit reluctant to to watch them not wanting to be used as a chew toy or whatever else their little imaginations could cook up. Mateo sat on the couch ,with blue cargo pants and a blue sleeveless shirt, his long hair a bit shaggy , as he watched them play with their toys before he looked over his shoulder at Kori. "Why do I have to be the one to watch them?" He nearly whined. Kori shrugged. "Because Sia said so." She said simply. "Besides Anthony called an dsaid that someone else was coming to watch them today." Mateo raised a brow at that bit of news. "And Papa Bear was ok with that?" He asked using the children's nickname for Alexander. The man was seriously particular about who he let around the children so the news was surprisng. "Yea apparently Anthony had spoken with him and got the green light. " Kori replied and folded her arms as she watched them. She would miss them when they left. "Ah ok , when is she coming?" He asked looking thoughtful. Kori shrugged and watched as Nicole hopped on the couch an dsat in Mateo's lap. Her curly hair bouncing with each movement. "Tay Tay, can you play with me?" She asked and her golden eyes looked up at him pleadingly. Mateo looked down at her and smiled. "Of course I can young miss. What do you want to play?" He asked and she giggled. "You talk funny Tay Tay." She said and grinned. "I wanna play horsee!" She said and bounced in his lap. Mateo gave an awkward smile and tried not to grimace. "Ok sure." He said and Hesitantly Kori laughed and eased to the door. "Yea on that not I will head out and see if I can spot the chick." Kori said laughing at the look of torture on Mateo's face as Nicole climbed onto his shoulders and loccked her legs around his neck.

It's been a bit since she was given her short bout of freedom. Long enough that Lani went back to India with her parents and siblings and pet tiger (yes, she had a pet tiger; apparently she was pretty loaded). Long enough that Zoë now looked like she was about eleven. Long enough to have her ring back and fitting on her finger.
As Calypso walked purposefully toward Anthony, Zoë interlocked their fingers and swung the joined hands back and forth. Calypso did honestly try to keep Zoë here. After all, it was her trial, and she wasn't sure what the Beta of Black Ash had in mind for her. Shoot, she only knew one thing about the man and that was his name.
Though Zoë had insisted. Even the promise of Raider hanging out with her didn't make her stay – and she liked Raider! Zoë saw her Sissy as a mother figure. After all, she was separated by her mother since Xavier's death. She's already lost Uriel. Zoë couldn't be left by Sissy too. Even if for a short time.
Zoë shouldn't be acting like this. She was now a pre-teen that was supposed to be fawning over boy bands and reading horoscopes (which Calypso despised). Calypso was afraid that since Zoë shifted early her aging process had been skewed. Or maybe since Calypso was a turned shifter she wasn't very knowledgable in the whole aging process at all. Crap, she was studying to be a lawyer. Not a pediatrician. Especially for shifters.
"Hiiiiiiiiiii!" Zoë called out to Anthony, never having met a stranger before in her life. "I'm Zoë and this is Sissy!"
The purposeful steps turned a bit quicker after that, and soon she was standing in front of Anthony in a T-shirt and jeans combo. The hand she didn't have occupied was held out for the man to shake. "Calypso." Then she gave him a polite smile. "I'm sorry we're late." If only it were a few minutes.
Was it a few minutes?

Anthony opened one eye and then the other as he saw the two walked up. He straightened and took them in quietly with a glance. Though he had to smile at the young girl who greeted him happily. He had not known anyone else was coming aside from Calypso. Not being told specific details irked him but he brushed it off. It was a day for the children after all so adding one more shouldn't hurt anything. Besides, today they would all be under Calypso's charge.
"Hello cher, I'm Anthony. Nice to meet you." He said and gave a slight bow of his head and pushed off the car. He had never met either of them and wondered where they had been hiding. Though he had been pretty busy with things and most likely overlooked them. He made a mental note to run through all of their pack mates and get acquainted with them. It wouldn't do for him to mistake fellow members as an enemy.
He turned his attention to Calypso, or Sissy as the Zoe called her. She seemed a bit... serious and stiff. He tried to give her a reassuring smile though he wasn't used to smiling so much so it was more of a peek a boo smile. He shook her hand and lifted a brow. "Nervous?" He asked curiously.
After a moment he waved off her comment and motioned for them to get into the car. "No need for apologies. It's just Madame Sia is very obstinate and punctual and expect others to be the same way at times. Though she will be fine. We'll only be a few moments late." He reassured and got in the car.
Once inside he began to tell her about the children. "So you will be watching three pups; two boys and a girl. Their names are Lance, Nicholas, and Nicole. They are your average shifter toddlers; curious, playful imaginative, etc. You of course will be responsible for their safety, meals, naps, entertainment and bedtimes. You will also deal with Papa Bear when he comes home. It's mostly so that he can meet the person watching his children." He explained. He didn't add that Alexander wanted to commit her scent and features to memory should he end up hunting her. It was something that he'd always done even before the pups.
He just knew that he would have to hear Sia bitching at him when they got there. Once they were all in the car, he would drive off and head to the palace.
~*~
Kori sat in the lounge with a tiger sitting at her feet with it's head in her lap. She wore gym shorts and a sport's bra. Sia didn't have any uniform requirements for today and Kori decided to go comfortable. She rubbed the tiger's head as she watched a bit of tv when she heard a car pull up outside. "How much do you want to bet that's the babysitter?" She asked looking into the tiger's forest green eyes. It bared it's teeth and Kori laughed. "Too soon?" Tiana had lost a bet to Kori on how long Alexander and the pups would stay there before Sia tossed them out. Tia lost and had to do whatever Kori wanted for two weeks.
"Come on." She said and walked to the doors to open them. She stood in the doorway and smiled as she watched Anthony get out the car. "Hey big boy, want to play?" She said with a grin and Anthony smiled in return and shook his head. "Now you know I'm mated, that's not gonna fly." He said and chuckled. I have a couple of people I want you to meet." He said and turned to the two un question. Kori lifted a brow and looked towards them.

"Nice to meet you too!" Zoe grinned, showing two rows of perfect, gleaming teeth that screamed herbivore. That grin always made Calypso feel better. Because even though she denied it to the beta about being nervous, she was. After all, this was the day she did her trial. This event's outcome will help Voss determine whether to keep her as part of the pack, free from property-status, or become a slave once again.
She'd rather not be a slave.
"Who's Madame Sia?" Zoe asked before Calypso opened the back door and ushered for her to climb inside. "She's got a pretty name!"
Calypso laughed a bit, also wanting to know who this woman was before buckling up herself. Her hands were in her lap, polite and rather formal. She didn't relax much, considering she had just met this man and was now in a car with him. But Raider and Voss trust him - they should, since he was the Beta and all - and she trusted Voss and Raider.
When she did relax, it was because she was told that she was going to babysit. A small smile played peek-a-boo on her face, yet she nodded and took down mental notes. She was all for children - even hoped for a couple of her own someday (she didn't see it happening, though). At the same time, she wanted to be serious about this. Her freedom soully depended on how well she took care of these children. Including Zoe, she was babysitting four people.
The Papa Bear comment was - to her - irrelevant. All it told her was that this man was a good father, wanting to meet the stranger willing to babysit his children. "Safety, meals, naps, entertainment, and bedtime. Got it."
**
The place she was to watch them at ... kind of shocked her a bit. She was expecting a house, with white picket fences and a green lawn. Not a place of business. One that lit up like a Christmas tree in the dead of night, no less.
Calypso was silent, drawing her brows together as she stepped out of the car and opened the back door for Zoe. Calypso barely had enough time to shut the doors before Zoe leapt onto her back and wrapped her limbs around her neck and stomach. Calypso, having gotten used to Zoe's energetic tendencies to use her as climbing equipment, didn't even flinch. She tucked her arms under Zoe's bottom, assuring herself that the girl wouldn't fall off.
And when Anthony turned to them, Zoe saw that as her cue and waved excitedly to Kori. "Hiiiiiii! I'm Zoe, and this is Sissy!"

Anthony chuckled at her high energy level. It was refreshing. At Zoe's question he thought about how best to answer. "She is a close friend of mine. I will let her know you think her name is pretty."Anthony figured that Sia would get a kick out of it because she loved beautiful things and surrounded herself with them. Anthony had glanced back at Calypso a few times on the ride there, she seem anxious and he could understand why she would be though he didnt know that she was considered a slave nor about what this trial would be for aside from a rank. Even if the rank was not one that they particularly liked, one could always request a change in rank and it would be set up. But only three changes was allowed any more than that He and Voss would assign a permanent rank and it may not be one that is favorable. ~*~
Anthony smiled at Zoe's greeting was reminded of Lottie. Kori chuckled and waved at them. "Well hello there, miss Zoe!"She said matching Zoe's exuberance. "Hello Lady Sissy." She said and Smiled at Calypso. She turned her attention to the younger girl and gave her a warm smile. She liked her right off rip. Calypso seemed very reserved and careful. She was a smart girl. She was brought from her thoughts when Tiana sat beside her.
"Oh where are my manners? This is my good friend Tia." She said introducing the tigress who gave a slight bow to the young misses. "Now that that's over, let's go meet the pups shall we?" She said and clapped her hands before turning on her heel, Tia at her side. "Oh and m'lady wants a word with you." She said over her shoulder to Anthony who nodded. He would deal with Sia once the girls were settled upstairs and not before. He didnt want them getting uncomfortable.
He followed Kori and the tigress through the halls and up the stairs, down another winding hallway and up another two flights of stairs. The suits that they had come to were much different than those that were downstairs. It was much lighter and the decorations were a pretty gold and red and white. There were vases at intervals sitting on pedestals that were filled with varying flowers that complimented the color scheme. There were pictures of different places in their natural state and they were beautiful and looked as if at any moment they would come to life and the wind would blow bringing with it the scents of the forests, bouyus, jungles, etc.
Kori stopped at a mahogany and golden door and paused. The sound of children's laughter drifted through the door as well as what sounded like someone was neighing. She snickered and listened.
"Come on horsey before the bad people getted us." Came a little girl's voice and it was filled with concern and worry as if she was truly worried about the creature. "Nonono! The gator gonna get your leg if you go that way...He in the lava! Turn around! Turn around!" Came the frantic cry and then there was a pained grunt. Kori wanted to just break out laughing so bad but feared they would interrupt their play. They had to go in soon though.
Grinning she eased the door opened and poked her head inside. She couldnt help but laugh at what she saw. Nicholas was crawling towards Mateo and Nicole as the little girltried to pull the heavy "horse" to safety. The pain on Mateo's face as she choked him was priceless. She looked for Lance knowing that he wouldnt be too far off from his siblings. She wondered what his part in all of this was.
Nicole saw them and ran towards the door. "Kori! You're back!" She saw Tiana and tried to wrapp her small arms around the tigress who bent for her. "Hey T.T! She said and buried her face in the tiger's fur. When she noticed the others, she frowned and backed away. She didnt know them and Papa bear told them never to go near strangers. When Mateo walked over rubbing his throat, she hid behind him.
"I take it you're the babysitter?" He asked right off the bat. "I am Mateo. Nice to meet you." He said and stepped aside to let them in. He could feel Nicole's little body stiffening in protest. Mateo closed his eyes and reached back to reassure her. "This is Nicole. The boys are Lance and Nicholas." He said with a nod of his head in their direction. Nicholas was sitting on the floor looking at the guests with open curiosity.

Lance smiled at his siblings as they played-he had been playing as well, crawling towards Nicole and Tay Tay alongside his brother until one of the toys had caught his eye and he decided to play with the toy. Which was what he was doing when everyone else came in.
He had paused, his golden amber eyes concentrating on the newcomers-the rich emerald flecks darkening as he stared at the duo. Amongst the three of them, he was the one that took the longest to warm up to people. So Lance kept his distance, listening in to what Tay Tay was saying and what the others were saying as well.
He did however smile at the tigress, he knew it was Tia and waved at her, liking the feel of her fur. It wasnt unknown for him to be found sleeping on one of them, curled up in their furred bodies. It was more comfortable for him and he was sure the others didnt mind.
(its eh, i know, be patient with me, i need to get to know him lol)

Calypso didn't bother correcting them on her name. Zoë was going to be the one to introduce the duo. And Zoë knew her as Sissy. Not Calypso. Besides, she was going to be babysitting young children. Most children can't pronounce Calypso correctly. Atlas went around for roughly a year saying "Lisso".
"Hello," she answered instead, stopping her thoughts right then and smiling a bit.
"Lani has a tiger!" Zoë suddenly said after gasping and tightening her hold on her shirt excitedly. "But he's not a shifter." For a young girl, her sense of smell was impeccable. She can discern the difference between species. "And it's a boy." Then she giggled. "Yay! I'm going to have new friends."
Zoë talked non-stop about everything that was nothing. She bragged about everything/everyone she liked (Calypso's "really pretty voice" and story time voices; Lani's home and her "smarty pants brain; how broccoli looked like little green trees) and said that meat made her sick. Her favorite color was blue, the same blue of her fur when she shifted. Not like baby blue or anything.
Zoë stopped at the sound of the laughter, eyes glittering with a wonder. She was … ecstatic to have people to play with. And with that thought in mind she shimmied down Calypso and took her hand instead. Her feelings were obvious in the way she bounced on her toes impatiently. "Lava's bad," she said, looking up at Calypso and tilting her head a bit. "Why are you laughing? That's not funny."
In truth, like Kori she couldn't help but try desperately to suppress her laughter. It forced its way out in soft snorts and gentle jerks. Zoë's concern only made it worse. Poor "horse". And then she had a thought that soon she will be joining in on their pretend play.
It was easier to hide her laughter now.
Inside, the laughter stopped altogether. A knowing smile was put on her face, as if saying to the children, "I might be a stranger, but I won't hurt you." And she was going to introduce herself, but Zoë best her to it. Again.
"This is Sissy. And I'm Zoë! Hi!"
"Nice to meet you too," Calypso continued, her smile changing from knowing into polite. "And the kids." She lifted her free hand a bit to wave at the children one at a time.

Kori simply smiled while Tia inwardly laughed at Zoe and her excitement. It was nice to have children at the Palace despite it not being the best place for children. It was refreshing. They didn't mind Zoe being talkative at all and found it cute.
~~
Mateo gave a nod to the two and at Nicole's tugging moved further away. When the woman smiled them she hid even more, her golden eyes a bit fearful. Mateo sighed and knelt down in front of her. "It is ok mistress. Kori and Tia wouldn't let them in if they were ta danger to you, none of us would. Ok?" He said and gently cupped her cheek. When she looked up at him the red and emerald flecks of her eyes danced within the pool of gold. She gave a small smile and nodded though she went over to where her brothers were after casting a curious glance at Zoe. Zoe seemed less scary.
Nicholas had gone over to where his brother was. His deep emerald eyes staring at the new people though his curiosity was unmistakable. "They smell funny." He whispered to his brother with a grin. Usually those who came up had to clean themselves with the special soap that Sia provided but that hadn't been done today so the pups were smelling the scents from outside that the visitors would have brought in with them.
At the boy's comment Mateo cast a glance at him and Nicholas gave a sheepish grin. Mateo frowned and wondered if keeping them here did more harm than good especially if they didn't recognize the scents from outside, thought it was to be expected with Alexander keeping them hidden from the world.
He turned to the children and gave them a look. "These two lovely ladies came here to play with you today. They are not your personal toys to do with what you will so be nice." He said sternly and they nodded though Nicole sat closer to her brothers as if hiding. "No worries Nikki, me and Lance gonna protect you. Right Lance?" He said giving a grin to his brother, His emerald eyes sparkling with mischief.
Mateo turned to Sissy and Zoe with an apologetic look. "They tend to be a bit rough and mischievous but they're good kids. If you need anything we are down the hall." He said and walked out of the door. Nicole frowned and became a bit nervous, though she felt the presence of one of her "friends" and wasn't as scared.
"Well then, I will be on my way as well. I have a whole lot of nothing to do." Kori said with a grin and started to walk away as well but stopped when she noticed Tia following behind her. She grinned and looked at the tigress. "Where do you think youre going?" She laughed and Tia looked confused for a moment.
"oh no. Some one has to stay here and Keep watch over the little darlins. Have fun babysitting the babysitter." She said and left Tia standing at the door glaring at her retreating back growling. She huffed and walked into the living room and sat beside the children.
Anthony shook his head at all that transpired and turned to Calypso. "I have to go see the Madam but if you need anything from me simply use the intercom. It goes directly to her office. Also as was mentioned Mateo is down the hall and most likely Kori will be as well. If it becomes overwhelming then simply let one of us know." He said and left closing the door behind him.
Nicole looked between Lance and Nicholas before looking at the two girls. "Uhm, d...do you want to play pretend too?" She asked in a soft yet shy voice.

Lance wiggled his nose, thinking of the exact same thing as his brother so when Nicholas actually said it aloud, Lance laughed under his breath. They did smell funny but it only made Lance curious because he wanted to get closer and smell deeper until he could determine just what exactly were they around that made them smell that way. Lance liked knowing things, he was a curious thing which was why he was both adventurous and he liked spending time with his books. Matter of fact, if he read something in his books, he would most than likely try to experience it in real life-to the point that his caretakers were a little worried with what he read. After all? They wouldn't want him to read something outrageous and have him try and do that.
Lance glanced at Nicole and grinned at her, "Of course! I'm your Lancelot! Remember? We'll protect you Nikki." Which he would-the three of them were very protective over each other. He loved his siblings-didn't want to go through life without them. So it went beyond saying that if any newcomers decided to do something rash to one of them-the other two would run to the rescue. After all? They were a pack-the three of them.
He patted Nicole's leg and winked at her, the gold in his gaze warming into the amber. "You're good. Plus, look, we have Tia."
He glanced at Zoe and smiled at her and then at Sissy. "Hi, I'm Lance." He moved closer to Tia and threaded his fingers into her soft fur, petting her gently. He liked Tia. He bent down and kissed the top of her head before glancing back at the newcomers.

"Okaaay!" Zoe said, nodding enthusiastically. Honestly, the girl didn't believe that her playmates would be rough. Because they're going to be friends, and friends don't hurt each other. And she didn't know what mischevious meant. But her daddy used to call her that! And she was a good girl. So mischevious had to mean good.
"Thank you," Calypso said in response to Mateo, not at all worried about the children's rough and mischevious ways. Her cousins, two boys, were peewee football players and always practiced their tackling on anyone they could get their hands on. Her little brother had a tendency to bite when he was four. She believed that she could handly these kids.
When Anthony turned to her she nodded, and in the back of her mind she saw herself handling these kids very well. No need for an intercom or anything like that. But she didn't want to be rude, so she gave Anthony the same "Thank you" Mateo received from her.
She just completely chose not to listen to Kori's "babysitting the babysitter" comment.
Calypso sat down on the floor, legs crossed Indian-style. Zoe followed suit, but when Nicole spoke up Zoe giggled and stood up again. "Yeah!" she exclaimed, tugging at Calypso's hand. "Let's play pretend!"

(when reading Nicole's words think of Ducky from Land before time *dont judge me lol* It makes it easier to read and gives you an idea of how she speaks)
Nicholas grinned at his brother when he laughed. He poked his sister gently as he chuckled at the Lancelot comment. It was what Nicole liked to call him. "See? No need to fear your brothers are here!" He said before laughing.
Nicole blushed before giggling. Tia made a chuffing noise and Nicole had the feeling that she was laughing at them. Nicole was happy that her brothers were with her because they always made her feel better. She smiled and nodded her head at Lance watching as his eyes turned amber. He liked watching their eys change colors thiking they were pretty.
Nick lifted his hand and waved. "And Im Nicolas. Only Nikki can call Lance, Lancelot."He said so that they were aware that the name was a special name that only she called him. Nicole blushed again and frowned and hit him. He looked at her as if confused. He didnt think he had said anything wrong so he didnt understand why she had hit him. "What?" He asked and Tia nudged him with her head. He shrugged and looked at the two visitors.
"So what are we going to do now?" He asked. Nicoled was looking in their direction but seened to have her attention on something else. She tilted her head and her eyes began to turn pure white. There was a boy with the girl named Sissy. He looked like her and wore and small fro like hair style.
"Hi." She asked the boy that was standing watch over the girl. "Are you a bird?" She asked. She only seen birds with feathers even when she spoke with other spirits most of them didnt have wings so she was a bit curious. "What's your name?" She asked. Nicholas was about to ask her who she was talikn to but noticed her eyes and looked back to the two girls.
"You brought a ghost with you?" He asked thoughg there was a hint of accusation. "Ok ok , this is getting boring. Let's play already." He said and stood to his feet. He turned to Lance and asked him what he wanted to play.
Tia made a purring noise as Lance pet her. She licked him when he bent down to kiss her head. When he straightened she nudged his arm with her nose and lifted it so that she could rest her head on his lap. She had her body curled around them until Nicholas stood up. She made a soft growling noise to Nick and flicked her tail to and fro as she gave him a disapproving look.
Nicole gave them a small smile and her eyes went back their original color with the red andf emerald flecks dancing in golden pools."The last game we were playing was Lavadiles. Lance and Nicolas were the Lavadiles and the floor had patches of earth that you could step on but its mostly lava and if you get in the lava then you get stuck and the lavadiles are gonna get you. You gotta get out of the lava before they get you or you turn into one too. They had eateded the other people that got stuck in the lava but they still hungry."She said getting excited as she spoke.
"But my horse had gotten stucked and I was trying to get him out before the Lavadiles could get him but he was too heavy." She said frowning. "Now I dont have a horse to get around on." She said sadly.

Lance grinned at the comment that Nick made about Nikki being the only one to call him Lancelot. Despite the fact that Nikki punched Nick, Lance knew that his one and only sister was quite pleased with what Nick had to say.
He let out a boyish giggle when Tia licked him and he rubbed her ears, moving his arm up so she could easily lay her head down in his lap. He enjoyed the purrs, bending a little so that he could feel the vibrations run through her body and into his. At the ghost being mention, he glanced up at Nikki and easily found his eyes looking in the same area as she was looking.
He frowned a little, knowing that there were no openings around here which meant that the person indeed bought a ghost with her or the ghost was following her. When Nikki snapped out of it, Lance tried to see if there was an opening around here. He felt those easiest and well besides from the one he knew before of, there werent any more openings.
He shrugged and nuzzled his face against Tia before chuckling at the remembrance of Nikki losing her horse. "Thats right, we got your horse." Lance sent a sly grin towards his brother and scratched the back of his neck, straightening in his sitting position, lazily threading his fingers through Tia's fur.
"So we playing Lavadiles? Or?"

Atlas, Calypso's younger brother, died at the tender age of eight. He had a brain tumor that no one found out about until he dropped in the middle of a seizure. The doctors did all they could, they said. But it was rare. Calypso couldn't tell you what it was anymore. But her parents donated regularly to the children's hospital that cared for her brother, to make sure that what happened to Atlas ... never happened to any other child.
It's been less than ten years since then. And shortly after his death, Atlas was given the sole duty to protect his sister. Because God knew that she'd end up in a bad place. In a few bad places.
He stood with his hands behind his back, behind Calypso with a peaceful look on his face. He didn't have his weapon. He didn't sense immediate danger. He smiled when Calypso laughed lightly at Nick's warning to not call Lance Lancelot. It was a big grin, because he was always happy when she was. He could feel that these boys reminded her of him. Which would have made him sad, but in Heaven, no one felt sadness. Only anticipation to see their loved ones again.
"I understand, little man," she answered, leaning on her hands. She was more at ease with the lioness and the children simply because they weren't adults. Well, she guessed that Tia was someone behind that lioness mask. But it was easy to ignore this fact. "My brother had called me Lysso. And when my cousins called me that he threw a big ol' fit." Calypso smiled softly, not sadly, because she knew that Atlas wouldn't like that she was sad thinking about him. Besides, she was done going through grief. If God hadn't forsaken her, they would be reunited again.
Atlas giggled at the memory. His wings ruffled a bit. And he was in too good of a mood to hear Nikki's acknowledgement of him. But her first question caught his attention. "Who, me?" he asked, drawing his brows together. It was a bit because of confusion. Because no one could see him except Satan and his demons, God and Jesus Themselves, fellow angels, or people can see into the planes that transcended the one his sister was on. And then ... he smoothed his brows and went back to that peaceful look he had when he first arrived in this room. "I'm not a bird. And my name is Atlas." And then he put his finger to his lips. "It's a secret. Lysso would freak out if she knew I was watching her."
Calypso drew her own brows together, the same expression that her brother had moments before. She saw the colors the little kids' eyes change. But that wasn't what bothered her. Nick's accusatory question (as well as Nikki's sudden talking to nothing) was the cause to her confusion. Before she answered with a hesitant, "No ... no ghost," she looked around - as if she could really see a ghost. Calypso mentally facepalmed herself.
Dear God, she hoped these kids were just mischevious, like Anthony said.
Calyso tried brushing it off. But she only managed to brush it to the back of her mind. Still nagging at her. Still desperate for attention.
"I can be the horsie!" Zoe volunteered, raising her hand as if she were in a classroom and trying to get the teacher's attention. But she's never been in a classroom setting before.
"No, I can," Calypso piped in suddenly, snapping out of her mental freak out when Mateo's pained grunts came to mind. She didn't know how Zoe would react to being tugged around. So she pulled her hair up into a tight bun and snapped the ponytail holder into place. Just in case the kids liked to pull on hair. "Zoe, you can be a Lavadile with Nick and Lance."
"Boys have cooties, though," she whispered quietly
"Lavadiles don't have cooties," she argued just as quiet, getting on her hands and knees. "Neigh!"

Nicole tilted her head and simply looked in the direction she knew the boy was in. Her eyes beginning to cloud once again to allow her to see him. She nodded at him and smiled though she was a bit confused. "But only birds have wings right? Nice to meet you Atlas, I'm Nicole. " She said in a whisper trying not to let Sissy know she was talking to him. Though she wondered why someone would freak out if they had someone looking out for them and protecting them.
It was natural for them and definitely for her. She enjoyed the company of those from the spirit world as long as they didnt mean her any harm. Her friend Nastasia warned her of the bad spirits that always tried to hurt people and how it was their job to make sure no one got hurt by them though Nicole didnt know how they were supposed to stop them.
Nicole turned her white gaze to Sissy and tilted her head before casting her gaze at her Atlas and then Sissy."No no no. No ghosts. " She said and smiled at Atlas. Her eyes changed color once again and she turned to Tia. "Are you gonna play Lavadiles too?" Tia lifted her head and gave a sneeze before shaking her head. Nicole giggled and turned back to Sissy and Zoe. he began to loosen up a bit seeing as how they seemed ready to play.
She looked confused when Sissy wanted to be the horsie instead of Zoe. Nicholas frowned when he saw the girls whispering. He looked to his brother then back to them. "Girls are weird." He huffed and caught his brother's grin. "Yea lets play already." He called out and got onto his hands and knees. He already had it in his head what he planned on doing to get Nikki's new horse. "Lets eat the new horse." He whispered to Lance. He watched as Tia purred at Lance's fingers in her fur.
Nikki hesitated before going over to her knew horsie. She pet her head and giggled. "Youre a pretty horsie. Yep yep yep." She said with a grin.

Lance giggled at his brother's comment, his fingers still curled in Tia's fur but his gaze on his brother. "Girls are weird. But so are you." He then stuck out his tongue at him before glancing at the new horse. Eat the horse huh? Lance felt a thrill of excitement run down his small spine and his fingers clenched in Tia's fur-his tiny knuckles turning white.
Lance loved to hunt.
He loved chasing his siblings around and finding them whenever they played hide and seek. It was fun and Lance was a natural hunter.
"Sure," His voice didnt hold the excitement that was inside of him because he thought that it wasnt good to give everything away all at once. Instead, his fingers eased up on Tia's fur and with one last pat, Lance moved out from underneath Tia, standing up to his full boyish height and dusting off his shorts that had a few strands of fur.
Then? He crouched down, the gold in his amber eyes darkening with his excitement as his body was ready to sprint off and hunt down its prey.
