( Jewel , Ventia, Voss) Tala was anxious. Today was the day that Dr. Rutherford would personally oversee the evaluations of the children. It was her job to stand beside him and help oversee the evaluations. Since being with Inna, she hadn't had a chance to check on Mikhaila and her "siblings". She knew that they would be young adults by now. It wouldn't be too much longer before Dr. Rutherford would make them choose between following his command or forever being his test subject. There were many jobs that he could find for them to do; enforcers, sweepers, rats, PRs, and any other jobs that he deems they are appropriate for. They were unable to find an appropriate caretaker for Inna. Tala had interviewed quite a few of them and didn't like any of them. They had still been unable to find her daughter's exact whereabouts but Dr. Rutherford still had people out looking for her and that strange woman all over the place. It's like they just disappeared but Dr. Rutherford wasn't in any hurry or rush. He believed when you rush you don't think and not thinking in this business was liable to get you or someone else killed. So he would always try to refrain from such things though Emmanuel always had a way of pushing him to that limit. Anyway, because they were unable to find a caretaker for Inna Rutherford allowed Tala to stay with her. He felt that Tala could bring the girl around and make her obedient. He had no use for disobedience and those he had no use for he killed. Tala dressed in a beige business suit and a pair of heels. She wore her hair in a tight bun with a little hair hanging on the side of her face for a bang. She was anxious and a bit nervous. She wasn't sure if she had done a good job of preparing Inna for her first evaluation but there was one thing working for the little girl. It was her first evaluation and they wouldn't be too critical though they still had minimal standards that were to be met. Tala forced herself to stand still when she realized that she had been pacing. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly. She had cooked Inna breakfast. It was simple, scrambled eggs, croissant, and a few strips of bacon with a glass of orange juice. She didn't want to give her too much before she had to do her eval. "Come on love, I want you to put something on your stomach before we go." She called out to Inna. Tala loved the little girl as if she were her flesh and blood and thinking about what could go wrong or what could happen today had her anxiety going through the roof. Inna had to be useful to Dr. Rutherford in oreder for him to keep her alive and Tala hoped and prayed that he would see potential in her. She would go over everything with her when she came down for breakfast, just to make sure she knew what was expected of her. The course that they would run was similar to that of a boot camp course. There were hurdles, rope climbing, etc. but most importantly there was a timer and their time always had to be better than the time of their last evaluation. Then at the end there was speed shifting, to see how fast they could shift. Of course shifting during the evaluation's obsticles weren't prohibited. They wanted to see what they could do and multiple shifts earned extra points. She looked at her watch and sighed. The car would be there in twenty minutes to take them to the training grounds. There Inna will meet the other children that were also in the caretaker program. The competition at evaluations was big it was almost like the playground but this could make or break a caretaker. ~*~ Mikhaila sat on her bed in her pajamas rubbing her arm as Eva paced in front of her. Eva wore jeans and a red tank top. Mikhaila hated evaluations because of how they made Eva act. Eva became much more violent like she was now. Mikhaila had been sleeping and Eva yanked her out of her sleep. "I came in here and woke you up twenty minutes ago! Why the hell are you not dressed and getting ready? You trying to make me look like a fool?" Eva stopped and glared at her. She bit her tongue and swallowed her retort. Eva didn't need her to look like a fool, she did a great job all on her own. "I asked you a question." Mikhaila shook her head and held her head down. When Eva smacked her teeth she flinched think she would get hit and Eva gave a growl. "Go wash your ass and get dressed. You don't have time to eat and its no one's fault but your own." Tears spilled down Mikhaila's pale blue eyes and she stood up. She hadn't eaten anything last night because Eva said she didn't need it, to use her hunger to motivate herself. Mikhaila didn't understand that logic at all and figured that if she were too hungry, that would be all she would think about and nothing else let alone do her evaluation and pass. But yet she is the one who gets all the blame for not passing. It wasn't fair. "Yes ma'am." She said softly and went to her dresser to get her clothes. Eva watched her and couldn't help but add. "You don't have too many times where your failures will be overlooked. You keep failing and the good doctor might do me a solid and kill you. So for your sake you had better pass." She said and walked out of her room. Not only would the kid be killed, Eva wouldn't get any money and would have to get another position. ~*~ Emmanuel had his music blasting as he headed to the sector 20 zone C. He was wanting to wish the kids luck and see how they were doing. He hadn't been able to do so lately and figured now's as good a time as any to check on them. They would no doubt be nervous. Growing up he hated evaluations not because he failed them , he always passed his, but because of the treatment and the toll it took on the children. He understood that they were shifters and had more abilities to do thing that humans couldn't but they weren't machines, they were children and children made mistakes. They were treated as if they had no value without the evaluations and that their lives didn't matter one way or another. He hated that but as of yet had no way of stopping it. Even with the music playing he was silent as he raced through the sector, the van not far behind him. If he went against the old man it would mean certain death for him. He would be killed on the spot because of that fucking chip that was implanted in his body. He always fought with the thought of who's life mattered more, his or theirs. It was the main reason he hadn't done anything in opposition to the doc. Yea he was a selfish bastard, but everybody had their own "cross" to bear. His grip tightened on the steering wheel and he grit his teeth before taking a deep breath and letting it go. He was in charge of security and had to meet up with the other enforcers soon, so his visit would be pretty short. He relaxed and focused on his music once more and relaxed as he sped to the house.

Inna was usually a handful when it came to how she dressed, but as of lately she had been wearing the outfits provided for her. But she refused to take off the necklace that was of her fathers tooth, she had yet to feel the change. Tala kept telling her it was because she was to young and that it would come in time, Inna loved her like a daughter would a mother but she felt that is what she was doing. Making her feel ok about not being able to change, Inna being the young girl that she was figured that every one could change like Tala did. Jumping down from one of the counters she would move to the stool to sit and eat, she felt jittery not because she was worried about failing but because Tala was nervous. " It will be ok mommy " She said with a smile as she picked at her food. The bacon was always something she would devour first, usually you were suppose to save the good for last. She liked to have her treat first though after a few moments she devoured it all as if she was a starving child. She was starting to feel like she could eat a entire house lately, though now she felt ill because she was feeling Tala's nervousness. She hoped she didn't vomit in the middle of the test, she knew that would embarrass Tala now her own nerves started to harp on her.
" Tell me what I am suppose to do again and I wont fail I promise " Inna said softly tugging on the odd white clothing. She felt ....like a starched barbie doll. she was thankful for the tank under neath, if the clothing got in her way she would be rid of it. Taking the Orange juice downing it in a few gulps she would wipe her face. " Come on wont we be late?" She would jump down running around Tala to open a drawer to slip a power bar in her pants pocket. Encase they ended up sitting for hours and there was nothing to eat, she often found her self waiting for most things. " You said something about other's? Will there be other's there today?" She had yet seen any other children since she had made it to ...what she considered her enclosure. " Is that man picking us up today ?" She had many questions that some times she felt that perhaps she should not ask. But usually her mouth spoke before the rest of her caught up. Inna had been climbing trees and doing work outs ever since day one, she had been told enough that obstacle courses would be in her future. She saw it as a opportunity to make Tala proud, she was sure her blood kin would of been also if she was alive today.
Inna would climb on most of the furniture or hang off any outcropping in the house, she seemed to be able to climb anything which seemed amazing to the little girl. Though lately coupled with the ever mounting hunger she had noticed small things lately, like the mouse she found in the forest. It was like her vision had zeroed in on it sticking out from the foliage as if it was the only thing she could see. She had chased and caught it only to let it go not knowing what to do with it once she had it. Little outbursts like that had feeling insecure about herself.

"No more peanut butter!"
Alesha stuck the jar up her shirt, and kept the spoon firmly clenched between her teeth. Travis, her caretaker, had taken clippers to her claw-like nails, and brought a washcloth to her face, claiming they had no time for baths. (At least, not the three-hour ones that Alesha liked to take.) And she had to be dressed in tight-fitting pants and a flimsy tank top. Which irritated her. She preferred her bell-bottom jeans. "Come and get it!" Her taunt was a bit muffled, but Travis only groaned in frustration.
She hated when Travis was like this. Usually, he was so laid back, half the time high and the other half talking about government conspiracies like it was the weather. But when it came to evaluations, he was always uptight and freaking out over the littlest things. Of course, he wasn't bad as the Vanilla Lady. But he didn't wear his usual beanie. He was sober. And he trimmed his beard. Thank God he didn't shave it all the way; he did it one time, and he looked like a man baby. "Alesha, stop it now. You're acting like a child."
"And you're acting like a stick ran up your a**," she fired back after taking the spoon away from her mouth. "And why should it matter? Doc has seen me eat peanut butter before, and he didn't care!"
"God! Have you always been this bad?" He ran a burly hand over his slicked back hair before thrusting it between them, palm up. "How can Emanuel stand you?"
"Manny's never tried to take my peanut butter away from me before." Then she stuck her tongue out before standing up from the couch and keeping the jar underneath her shorts. If she could, she would stick it down her pants. Travis wouldn't have the guts to get it out then. "So ha!"
And then, she heard Eva start yelling. As usual. And, also as usual, she had the desire to rip her tongue out and make her eat it. But more than that, she always had the urge to go see how her sister was. Dr. Rutherford had warned Alesha not to threaten Eva, but she couldn't help it. She wanted that chick gone. She hated how she wasn't allowed to do anything to Eva. Not even put honey in her hair!
That was fun when she DID do it the first time.
She was walking toward her sister's room, blatantly ignoring Travis, and sent a (what would be) killing glare toward Eva's back. "I hope Doc sees how terrible you really are today," she hissed at her before walking into Mikhaila's room.
"Alesha!" Travis tried to scold, but she ignored him and shut the door in his face. Yeah, she didn't listen all that much.
When the door was shut and her back was pressed against it to keep the buttholes out, she revealed the barely-hidden jar; put the spoon in her mouth to free her hands; and unscrewed the red lid. "Here," she mumbled before dipping the spoon and bringing out a whole glob of it to brandish. "Eat it."
She knew that her sister didn't eat last night. Alesha tried sneaking some food from dinner to her last night, but she was caught by Eva. That b*tch, she thought, just remembering the event.
Alesha rarely ever shared her peanut butter with anyone. But she had a few exceptions. Those few exceptions were on the short list of people she cared for. Dr. Rutherford, being one. But he wouldn't ever take the spoon. Emmanuel, who would only take it after she smeared some on his face, which ended up with him giving her a noogie. And her siblings, who would take it because Alesha rarely gets told no and she actually acknowledges the word.
"F*ck Eva."

He hadnt slept, but that was usual for Ero-when one suffered from severe insomnia not sleeping was as common as breathing. He moved through his room, Christopher Reid no where in sight. Unlike his siblings, his caretaker didnt care too much about his appearance at these evaluations. Sure, Reid would show up at the last moment when he was needed to but until then? His nose was in his books.
Plus, he already came last night to give Ero his 'medicine' which should keep him running until after the evaluations. Ero ran a hand down his face, pausing at his eyes to rub them hard until he felt the tiredness dissipate a bit. He glanced at the prescription bottle next to his bed and quickly pocketed it, before glancing at his appearance at the mirror.
He was tall, towering at six feet and ten inches with broad shoulders and a lean frame to mask. He glanced at his back, seeing the difference in texture between his skin and the strips of scales even throughout the black shirt he wore. He reached back and rubbed his forefinger against the first scale that formed on his back, pulled his hand back into a fist and next thing he knew, he was punching the wall.
After the second punch, he stopped, watched the small tidbits of blood run down his knuckles and felt nothing. As always. Within seconds the ripped skin healed and there was no evidence to the physical abuse of his body. He sighed and pulled the bottle out of his pants, quickly twisting the lid open and popping the pills into his mouth.
He threw the bottle against the wall and eased out of his room, walking up behind Eva. "So mean today Eva." He bent so that he was whispering in her ear, his breath hot on her skin. "How about you be mean to me in my bedroom instead of Mika's? Come on, we still got a little time for some dominance power play?" He cornered her against the wall and leaned one arm above her, smiling down at her, the green in his gaze taunting.
"Or can you only pick on little girls because you're no matched for someone my sized?"
Ero loved his sisters. Would do anything for them. As he grew up, he took advantage of his gender and well he could handle Eva more than Mikhaila could.

Tala turned to Inna and smiled and walked over to her to kiss the top of her head. "I know baby." Tala said and leaned on the counter. She didnt know the affect her anxiety was having on Inna. She watched as Inna ate her breakefast. She had noticed the increased appetite that she had shown knowing that it was her shift that was quickening her metabolism. Tala was excited for her and at the same time worried because of the dual shift and wondered if her body would try to shift into her animal forms.
She had seen it multiple times and it was always a painful experience for some. She hadnt undergone any experiments yet to seperate the two and worried that her shift would come before then. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes as she tried to silence her worrisome thoughts. She was gratefrul for Inna's question, it gave her mind something to focus on. Tala looked at her and ran her hand down Inna's hair.
"You will have to run the course. It's almost like that of an obsticle course. You will have to climb a rope, climb a wall, lift weights, do pull ups, push ups,sit ups ,hurdles, and a lap around the track. They also give you the opportunity to shift, It gains you extra points towards your evaluation." She said before moving to grab her satchel.
She chuckled softly when she asked about Emmanuel. "Yes there will be others but Emmanuel will not be picking us. They have sent someone else out to get us. He will be picking up the other children, well they are more like teenagers no,but im sure they'll be happy to meet you. They too have been pretty isolated. Though after today all of that changes for them." She said and looked up when she heard a horn blowing outside.
When we get there, I will not be able to stay with you but I will be there and I'll be watching,ok? So dont think you're alone." Tala said and grabbed her keys from the counter and headed for the door. "Come on baby girl, time to go." She said. ~*~
Makhaila looked at her arm and the bruise taht was starting to form where Eva had grabbed her arm. Just because she couldnt feel pain didnt mean she liked seeing the discoloration of her skin. She had seen enough medical books to know that discoloration was not good. She couldnt really read but she listened in on Ero's lessons with Reid. She didnt quite understand everything he was teaching, but it sounded fascinating.
She sighed and turned around when she heard someone come in her room. When she saw her sister, she couldnt help the small smile that played on her lips. She giggled when Alesha cursed the Vanilla Lady. She wouldnt dare say such words, of course. "Thank you" She said and took the offered peanut butter from her sister, grateful to have something on her stomach.
She sighed after eating some of the peanut butter. "I really dont get why she is so evil. How come she cant be like your caretaker or even Ero's?Travis pretty much lets you do what you want and Reid actually care enough to teach Ero. I want to learn too. I want to be able to read the books i see and not just look at the picture and guess at what it says." She said sadly. She felt cheated and stupid. She wanted more than what was given to her or made available to her because of Eva and it wasnt fair.
"What did I ever do for her to hate me?" She asked rhetorically. It was a question that she had asked herself a thousand times over. She would never understand Eva's hatred for her and wasnt sure if she even cared to. She was starting to look forward to this evaluation. It meant that she would be able to finally be rid of Eva. ~*~
Eva scoffed in passing at Alesha. She didnt care for the brat. She felt that Travis was much too soft on her and was the reason she was so damned hard headed and argumentative. She didnt waste her time with a retirt from the girl, after all she was but a mere animal, a guinea pig for Dr. Rutherford to play with and had no real value.
These were her thoughts as she was walking down the hall. She stopped and looked over her shoulder at him. He had grown into a fine piece of eye candy and had even her blood rising and her heart racing. She licked her lips and scowled. "Not everybody can be as softhearted as Travis or absentminded as Reid." She said and turned to him fully. When he cornered her, she couldnt stop her body's reaction to him and she turned red and pushed past him.
"As much fun as that sounds, I will pass. Wouldnt want to hurt you." She said deliberately mocking. "Besides, dont want Reid losing his mind over his little pet. No go run along and play with your sisters. You have ten minutes before it's time to go." She said and walked off. Her body heated as she became angry with herself due to her reaction.
She was glad the damn caretaker business was just about through, she needed to get out of the house and be with real people. She walked down stairs and went into the kichen to grab a bite to eat.
~*~
Emmanuel was hauling ass and so it took less time to get to the kids. He braked in front of the house and laid into the horn. After a moment he cut the car off and got out. He took the stairs two at a time and simply let himself inside. "Yo,where's my lizard?!" He called out for Alesha. She was a pain in his ass but she was like a sister to him and didnt take kindly to her being upset. She was actually the only one,not including Tala, that he let get remotely close to him.
Eva came out of the kitchen and crossed her arms. "Do you always have to be so damned obnoxious?" She asked scowling. Emmanuel looked at her and raised a brow.
"Do you always have to be a bitch?" She opened her mouth to say something but when he tilted his head as if daring her to say something she closed her mouth. "You seem in a good mood. I wonder what bruises that child will sport today." When she opened her mouth to say something he bared his teeth allowing her to see his fangs.
"Your time is coming. All it takes if one word from the old man and you're mine. So I would walk on egg shells today. Youre such a disappointment. Time and time again your evaluations were failures." From the look on her face he could tell that she didnt know what he was talking about.
"What you thought it was only the children who were graded?" He laughed. "You are very funny. The doc watches everybody. You'll be lucky if he decides to use you as one of his experiments." He said and dismissed her the next second. "The van is waiting out front to take you guys. I came here for my Lizard to wish her luck and then I have to go. For your sake you and Mikhaila had better pass the evals." He said the last part with a growl.
Eva paled and walked away her ownwords thrown back at her had her nerves shook. She clenched her jaw and balled her fists she would leave before the damn this started.

(sorry for the length )
Inna would listen to Tala for a little bit before just nodding her head about what she would be doing, hearing the horn blow she would look to her " Ok I wont, I know you are always with me" She said with a smile placing her hand over her heart. She knew that this woman would not abandon her for any reason other then death. She had grown very protective of her and Inna of Tala, she hated it when Emmanuel made her feel upset. But there was not much as a child she could do, that is why Inna wished she could grow up fast and find away to free her and Tala. Inna would race to the door opening it before moving outside the house.
She would jump to the first tree she found and climbed to the branch swinging a little with a giggle she would jump down. She thought to her self that the course would be easy, she could climb like nothing and she felt she could run like the wind. But don't all children? She slowed from her excitement to watch Tala lock up the house, she tilted her head and sighed. Even though beyond these walls she went through tests of all kinds, well she felt that here she was at home. It was strange really some times she forgot she was now just a experiment, and it felt like home. It could be she was just used to being in a cage, though she did not miss the group of children she had been stuck around back at the rich mans compound.
She had said she would meet teens, which would be nice to see some one else. But teenagers?
How were they going to be able to play, they would be to big wouldn't they? She bounced towards the edge of the enclosure but stopped again when she felt a hotness in her stomach. Nothing she had ate was spicy so she didn't understand why. She started to sweat all over and blinked, she figured it was because of all the hoping around she was doing. " Come on Mommy we got to go!" She smiled and wiped the sweat from her forehead. She wanted desperately to make Tala proud today and would do anything to make it so, If she had to run her self to death for the woman she would. Her attachment did not replace her biological mother, but she did seem to have a very strong bond with her.

It was good to see Mikhaila eat. Even if it was only peanut butter on a spoon that Alesha had used previously. Not only did it sate that defiant way of hers that she took up - to go against the Vanilla Lady's commands - but it means that her sister would be well. All she wanted was to make sure that her siblings are okay. Of course, she wasn't sure whether who was born first, but Alesha found it to be her duty to take care of Mikhaila and Ero as much as she could when the caretakers weren't around. Like the eldest of the children.
"I don't know," Alesha answered, using two fingers to dig out a glob of her own peanut butter. Mikhaila had her spoon, and she wanted some peanut butter right now. "But I'm sure that when this is all over with Ero could teach you!" She licked some of the brown goo off her fingers before continuing. "Hopefully you'll so good that you'll be above Eva, so that you can boss her around!" She smiled then, one of her perfect teeth stained brown. "That would be fun."
Hearing Manny's booming voice had her smiling. No, she didn't see him as anything other than a brother. Of course, he was handsome, but all shifters were handsome or beautiful. Even Alesha (she didn't mean to toot her own horn, but whatever), with her webbed fingers and toes as well as the patches of scales here and there. And though she's never been in a relationship, she knew what to feel if she ever found a guy that had the potential to being her lover. Emmanuel didn't get her blood pumping or anything of the sort. He was her brother and nothing else.
"I'm coming!" she hollered through the door at him. And then she finished the peanut buter on her fingers before screwing the lid back on the jar. She set it gently on the dresser and wrapped her arms around her sister's middle. "I have a feeling the evals are going to have good results. And then no more Eva." She kissed her cheek, let go of her sister, and walked out the door.
By the time she football tackled Emmanuel by way of greeting, he and Eva had finished speaking onimously with each other. Her grin on her face showed that she didn't hear any of the conversation. Which was good because she wouldn't know what to say about it. "Hi Manny!"

Ero smiled charmingly down at Eva, chuckling a little under his breath about her comment. "Whatever you believe Eva." And then he watched her go, that false smile dropping as he turned into Mika's room. He saw Alesha, smiled for real this time and before she could run out, he messed up her hair and went inside to speak to Makhaila.
"Because she's a bitch. You didn't do anything Mika." Ero eased into the room that his sister was in and sat down somewhere. He loved his sisters, would do anything for them. Even try to charm the Vanilla Lady so that she got off Mika's back.
"How you feeling? We have ten minutes-that was all I could get from her. Though I doubt she'll follow through with it. Emmanuel's here. Alesha might be able to stall him-she's always good with that."
He paused, crossed his fingers together and then stood up, moving over to Mikhaila, his voice softening. "You know that once we get out of here, I'm going to teach you everything I know. You'll learn how to read and everything okay? We just need to get out of this house. You'll be great. I know you will sis. I'll make sure of it." And he would. He'd sell his soul to the Dr. Rutherford to make sure Mika was safe. The same went for Alesha. He'd do anything for them-they were everything to him. They were the reason he never killed himself. "Okay? You're going to be fine. I'm sure of it. We just need to get through this and we don't have to deal with her anymore. Okay?" He bent forward and gently kissed her forehead, pulling back a little.
"I'll give you some time to get ready." He made sure she was alright and then once he was sure of that and if she didn't want to be alone-he would ease out of her room and stand guard in front of it, listening in to what was going on in the kitchen.

Tala smiled at Inna as they headed for the door. "Yep always." Tala watched as Inna ran out and jumped to a tree. She watched her closely a bit worried. Inna was exhibiting the signs of a first shift. She hoped that Inna could hold out until after the evaluations were over before her body forced her to shift. First shifts were always excruciatingly painful.
She shook herself from her thoughts as she heard Inna call out for her. She smiled and waved. "I'm coming baby." And with that she headed out to join Inna at the car.Soon they would be on their way to the evaluation.
~*~
Mikhaila giggled a little as she watched Alesha eat her peanut butter. She was very grateful to her and appreciated the offered food. It wasnt much but it was mor than what Eva was willing to give her. "Do you really think so?" She said a little excitement touching her voice at the thought of learning. It was strange and she soon went back to her usual quietness. She grinned at Alesha and thought about being over Eva and she figured that would be karma at its best. "That would be funny." She said and giggled.
When she heard the males voice she tilted her head at Alesha curiously. She always steered clear of him but it would seem as though Alesha was friends with him. She returned Alesha's hug and gave a low soft chuckle. "I hope youre right." She said and let her go, watching as she left. She was wanting to be free of their enclosure and the evil woman. She turned to go to her dresser but stopped when she heard Ero's voice. She turned around and saw him coming to her. She smiled.
"I'm not as hungry anymore since Alesha shared her peanut butter." She frowned when he said they had ten minutes, sighed and closed her eyes. She was never gonna catch a break. She looked up as Ero continued talking and she felt herself getting excited again. He would teach her what he knew and she wouldnt feel so stupid. It made her change the way she saw this evaluation. It was their last one and she was going to try to make it count. She wold be able to get out of here and never have to see Eva again. It was something worth getting excited about.
She appreciated her siblings coming to check on her. It made her want to succeed and to make them proud of her. She nodded her head and immediately began to get dressed after Ero had eased out. Ten minutes later she eased out the room and gave Ero a hesitant smile. "Thank you." She said before reaching out to give him a hug. She was super nervous.
After a moment she headed downstairs. She saw Eva standing at the foot of the stairs with her arms crossed and her green eyes glaring at her. Her eyes shifted behind Mikhaila and she sneered before walking out to the car leaving Mikhaila to follow suit. ~*~
Emmanuel heard Alesha and grinned knowing that she would be down soon. Her tackle-hug had him grunting before he grinned and messed up her hair. "Hey Lesha." He greeted with a bright smile. "Yo for a lizard you're starting to pack a punch." He teased.
"Are you ready for your eval today? Its gonna be a good one this year. We have visitors coming to see you guys show out. But dont tell nobody. No one's supposed to know." He said conspiritorially.

Inna smiled as she walked towards the car skipping along, she felt like she had so much energy but so hot and the day had just started. Hoping that it would cool down eventually, though she noticed as Tala got closer when they slipped into the car that she looked as if it was a cool day out. Yet Inna felt as if she had been out in a beating sun, the sweat kept sliding down her forehead but she was thankful that her stomach didn't burn. So she felt better and would not throw up in the car, watching out the window she felt her leg start to jump nervously as her foot bounced. It to felt like every part of her was going to jump about, like to much energy was building like the fake sugar high people feel. She looked to Tala" how many will be competing?" She thought it would be by who had the best time or what ever, she was not sure if they all would be doing the course at the same time.
She licked her lips several times feeling her mouth dry out with the nervous feeling that had been slowly building. She realized teens would be larger then her, she could very well make Tala look bad and that was her biggest fear. To make her mother look bad in any way in the tests or in front of some one, her attitude had changed slightly to actually caring about what was happening around her. She had lost the anger that she had against those around her, since she had some one that cared about her other then a trophy. Regardless of feeling hot she would scoot close to Tala leaning on her, it always made her feel safe to be this close to her. Making her nerves settle a little she could stop the shaking, waiting for the sweating to stop. She began to think she caught a cold some how, closing her eyes she hugged tightly to Tala's side. She waited to feel the car slow it felt like it was taking forever and her nervousness began to peak again.

"Hey stop that," Alesha complained, yet the smile on her face showed that she didn't care all that much. No, especially when she didn't have the desire to get dressed up in the first place. For all she cared Emmanuel can go and mess her hair up. That's what Travis got for getting all uptight about something that was going to be in their favor.
Hearing that there were going to be visitors, her eyes widened slightly. Visitors? She was excited. Hearing that it was going to be good from Emmanuel already had her good feeling about this grow. Mikhaila didnt have to worry. And that was all that mattered. Eva will soon be out of Mikhaila's hair. And Travis out of Alesha's. It will be smooth sailing from here on out.
She made a show of zipping her lips tight, then tossing the imaginary key over her shoulder. "I won't tell a soul." And she meant it. She'd act suprised like everyone else. She'd wow the visitors - how, she didn't know. But she didn't care. "You'll be there, too?" she asked after a moment's pause, biting the inside of her bottom lip. Alesha wanted for him to be their. To cheer her on and ease her worries if she did so happen to fail the evals.
Which wouldn't happen at all. But who wouldn't want their big brother there for an important event in her life?
She wouldn't let go of Manny until he gave her an answer, even after Travis urged her to let go and join the rest of them in the van. She should know that she had to let go, though. And that's what irritated Travis. She knew better, yet didn't do as told anyway.

((Sorry sorry for the late reply))
Ero moved slightly away from the door when he felt it open behind him, he had a large frame and he was sort of hunched over in the narrow hallway but he was so used to it that it didn't even bother him anymore. What bothered him was if his sisters were going to be alright.
Smiling at her words, Ero bent to hug her back. "That's what brothers are for huh?" He pulled back, his face warm with encouragement and followed her downstairs. He glanced at Alesha's 'friend' and then moved back outside-he didn't know where Reid was. His caretaker left him alone after he taught him everything he wanted to. Sure, he showed up at the tests (usually right before and went over some things with Ero) but besides from that and the study sessions, he left Ero alone.
He wasn't cruel like Eva was to Mika, he wasn't annoying like Travis was to Alesha, he was just there when he wanted to be there or when he needed to. And he had passed along his love for education.
Ero eased out of the door, paused for a moment, rolled his shoulders and took a deep breath. If he closed his eyes and just breathed...could he pretend that he was free of the compound? He continued walking, locking his jaw and centering his gaze on the car. No. He had already gotten used to the fact that this was his hell.
He could survive. He just had to make sure his sisters did as well.

Emmanuel chuckled before standing to his full height and crossing his arms over his thick broad chest. "Good. Of course I 'll be there, somebody has to keep an eye you." He said with a chuckle. His exchange between himself and Eva damn near forgotten. He had a feeling that she would do good. Jobs would be offered to them depending on their evaluations. All of the Department Heads would be there looking for new recruits. He didnt have the heart to tell her that he had to maintain security for Dr. Rutherford. He didnt want anything dampening her spirits for her eval. Besides he would make tim eif only for hers, to watch how she does. He sighed when he saw that everyone was heading to their perspective vehicles. "Alright lizard girl, I came to wish you luck and to see you off. Give 'em hell." He chuckled and bent to kiss the top of her head before walking out the door to his car. He picked up his phone and growled when he saw that he had multiple missed calls from the old man. He sighed and called Dr. Rutherford back and drove off arguing with him on the phone.
~*~
Mikhaila went to the car and waited on the others to join her and the Vanilla Lady so that they could go. It was intense being in the car alone with her. When every was in the vehicle then the car would drive away and head out to the field where the eval would be taking place. ~*~ Time skip~*~
Tala tried to hide her worry for Inna by looking out of the window and watching the forests pass though despite it all, she was very aware of Inna and it had her frowning even more. She didnt want her to do her eval today but she seemed so excited about it and Tala couldnt rob her of that. When Inna asked her question, Tala turned to look at her with a smile. "Very few actually. It's been a long time since Dr. Rutherford last did the caretaker program. There are only three groups total. Though I only know of two for sure, your group the CIPA group. The other group is one that i have yet to personally meet." She said thoughfully. "So that should be about ... seven of you guys." She said and pondered that a moment. She'd read the files but had yet to meet them. The last was a new group that Dr. Rutherford had been working with personally.
"But no worries, you will do well." She said with a reasurring smile. When Inna scooted closer to her, Tala wrapped her arm around her and hugged her close. She could feel the nervousness coursing through her little body and it made Tala want to keep her home even more but they cant turn back.
Soon they pulled into a large parking lot inn front of one of the medical buildings. There were several doctors that were there waiting for them to arriving. Tala hadnt seen any of the other vehicles pull up and figured that they were there first ones there.Tala gave Inna a gentle nudge and smiled making sure to put a cap on her own anxieties. She got out of the car and headed to the building. "Good morning." She said respectfully. They nodded and looked towards Inna watching her closely.
Tala shifted and hoped that they wouldnt make such a big deal about Inna on the brink of shifting. Once Inna get out the car, Tala would see their interest spike and they would begin to write in their folders. one nurse would smile and open the door for them. "Right this way. We just need to get vitals before you can go out to the field. " The woman said with a genuine smile. She was one of the very few who actually believed that SOBEA actually helped people.
~*~
Mikhaila stayed close to the window and watched as they drove away from their home and headed out to the Field. It was a large field that held obsticles for them to go through. It was all timed of course and then the finisher, shifting. They clocked them to see how fast they could shift into their other forms. Mikhaila was never a swift shifter so she hoped that she would be able to pull it off today. She looked around the car at everyoe and wondered if they just as nervous.
Soon they were pulling up to the mewdical building and she saw Tala. She had a genuine smile on her face and was anxious to get out of the car and get through the medical screening and out to the field. She was ready to get the eval over with.

Inna snuggled closer as she listened to her heart beat faint through her side, she closed her eyes for what seemed like a few moments before the felt the car slow to a stop. She suddenly didn't want to move but when Tala nudged her and smiled down at her it washed away the fear. She watched Tala go first out of the car greeting them.
Slowly she would get out of the car sweat felt like it was pouring off her as she wiped her face, quickly moving after Tala she stayed as close to her as possible once reaching her side. When the woman smiled at them and opened the door she would shake, though the woman seemed kind enough she didn't hesitate when she said they needed to check her vitals." Morning " She whispered clinging to Tala's side" Ok .." Was all she said to the woman waiting to walk inside with Tala. She assumed she was coming in with her, though she could be wrong. She would hide behind her a little looking around, hearing another Vehicle pulling up had her clinging tighter to Tala.
Her middle felt like it hot like she was going to split in two, her breathing came out in little puffs as she kept from trying to whine. She promised her self she would not embarrass Tala today, the cloths she was wearing she thought they were making her itch. She would scratch around her neck, her nails digging in a little to hard drawing blood.
Her face looked tired as she tried to keep from being sick(at least that's what was happen) her eyes closed as she leaned on Tala. The first feeling wavered and started to ease, she had felt something similar last night but thought it was most likely just nerves. Now she had no idea what it was, perhaps she had caught a bug from one of the evals she had?

If she was being honest, this eval was intimidating. When Manny encouraged her, though, she drew confidence from him. In the back of her mind, she found it fitting that since he shifted into an animal that typicaly symbolized courage, she would feel her nervousness dying away. And even when they pulled back, after she gagged (in a playful way, of course) at the kiss she felt like she could face a dragon.
That's the effect Manny had on her. Guilt stabbed her in the back because Mikhaila didn't have that. Or even Ero (not that he needed it, with the way he always held himself)! She liked to believe that she leaked Manny's encouragement for her siblings. But she wasn't too sure about that.
**
Pent-up engergy had her knee bouncing, and so did Travis's. Beside him was a pair of work out clothes, just in case they had Alesha exerting herself. Like shifting. Having scaly patches of skin and webbed digits meant - to Travis - that Alesha was already partly shifted. It was easy for her to go full-lizard. But it was like she only had so much energy; she couldn't shift repeatedly in a fixed time period. Say, in an hour, the most she could do was five times, and with time it grew more difficult, as if her body was giving a lot into the first one, but only very little for the rest.
Hopefully they won't do that to her again. Last time she couldn't shift back to human skin for a while.
At the sight of the obstacle course, caretaker and charge reacted in a completely different way of each other. She was enthusiastic about it, grinning broadly and clapping her hands. He groaned, thinking of how stupid he had been putting her in fancy clothing. She was going to get them dirty, most definitely. Never mind the fact that she can prove she could perform with little comfort.
When she saw Tala when they pulled up, her grin grew. Even adding a bit of laughter into it. As soon as the vehicle stopped, she was the first one out, now a bit excited and completely forgetting there were to be visitors.
