(( Eliora)) Fear. That was all she knew now. It was in the way she walked. In her eyes as she looked over her shoulder every few seconds. Even how she plucked the strings on her guitar. Carly felt tense, not understanding why her mistress was acting in such a way - yet understanding the direness of the situation every time they had to go. Speaking of Carly. Sammi knew that running wasn't something for a black bear. Shoot, black bears weren't supposed to be pets to sneak into dirty motels with cursing Italian book-keepers. Carly was roughly 200 pounds, considering she was now (and had been for a while) a grown female black bear. Easily, with her inhuman strength, Sammi could cradle her like a babe, though. Even so, she had to pay extra for the man to turn a blind eye (after she showed that the bear was harmless by sticking her hand in Carly's mouth) so that Carly could stay with her as she ran. It was so not worth it, she thought as she heard the porn video blaring next door. The room was okay-ish, sure, but she was totally not liking her neighbors. From that moment on, it just grew worse. At one point in time she had gone down to the front desk to complain about the noise only to be completely shut down and turned away. Something about letting Carly stay, so he should give the man that checked in next door privacy too. Sammi debated on knocking on the door to politely ask to turn the noise just a notch down. But she jumped when she heard a violent crash and skittered to her room. She hated being so jumpy. But give her a break - finding out that she was raised by a family of shifter-killers and then having the bomb dropped that her brothers were trying to kill her was a viable excuse. Sammi barely got any sleep at night. She was working extra hard on her close-range shooting (because a conceal-and-carry order didn't necessarily cover hunting rifles) as well as looking for her brothers; there were a few close calls that made her sleep even less that what she had been. The lack of sleep was evidence on her face as she walked out and hooked the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door a few days after the arrival of her neighbors. Bags were under her metallic gray eyes. Her semi-tangled hair (she did brush it, she swears) was in her signature pony tail. Yet she had a nicely ironed black T-shirt and jeans. She had to leave today, she decided. She was running low on funds. And soon, it was going to not be enough for even this little ratty place. It was a good thing she new how to play guitar. She had it on her back as she walked down to the lobby. Then she had it on her lap in the downtown area of the city she was in, letting her fingers play by memory a song she knew by heart as she watched for any sign of her brothers. Or anyone who was stupid enough to take her new baseball cap with loose change and run. Either one.

Lucien had been there in the shitty motel for only a few days now. He was still getting familiar with the area. He ran into a few people who tried to rob him during on of his night walks but they had a rather rude awakening. He had been allowing the puppets a bit more freedom to do as they pleased. It helped him take in more of the different areas whenever he used them as seeing glasses and looked through their eyes. Tonight he'd taken Leechwoman with and left the guys. Jester had made it a habit of watching porn and while the others destroyed the room, though even when he had taking Jester out with him the tv stayed on the porn channel. Blade simply overlooked them and made sure no one came in the room. The room service people always complained that the room was always destroyed come morning and they didnt understand why if he was the only one in there. Lucien would simply laugh at them and when the Italian slob tried to come to him about it, well lets just say Lucien handled it. He had warned the man not to go near his room no matter what he heard at night. He truly meant it. Lucien didnt care much for the other residents in the motel feeling that they werent worth his time. None were unique enough to garner his attention. Tonight he wore a black and white suit with a pair of white gators. He wore a black fadora and strutted down the sidewalk as if he owned the streets. His sharp hazel eyes taking in all around him. Leechwoman watched the humans pass by and touched her clothes. Lucien caught the gesture and chuckled. "They making you miss you human form?" He asked. When she remained silent and still he chuckled. "You are beautiful as you are. You will never age and you beauty will forever remain. Their beauty is a temporary thing." He said as he continued down the walk. He had made his way to a more busier area than where his motel was located. There were many people about and it made him wonder about setting up temporary shop in the area to sell his puppets. There were many there that would make a tastey meal. He was walking with a slow gait as he walked through the busy area. He had nothing but time and felt no need to rush in anything he did. As he walked through He noted a girl playing a guita. He took in her get up and figured she was a peddler. He stopped in front of her and looked down. "Good evenning." He said with a grin and a glint in his eyes as he tilted his hat to her. "That is an interesting tune you're playing. Is it original?" He asked. Leechwoman held onto him andwatched the girl closely. He looked around and gave a small frown as if he actually about her well being. "Why is one such as yourself out here on the streets at this time of night? Creatures of the night walk these streets at this hour." He said and his words were partially true. He had sensed others of his ilk in the surrounding area. He caught her scent and almost smiled. She was a shifter. Just then a young man, no more than 23 yrs old if Lucien had to guess, came and tried to snatch up the hat that the woman had before her. Lucien hit him in the ribs with his suitcase and the man stumbled backwards. The man cursed and held his ribs asLucien slowly walked towards him. "Well now, are you that lazy that you cant go out and make your own money?" He asked in a disapproving tone. Leech woman shook her head. When the man saw the puppet's movements he seemed enthralled by her. Lucien read the look on his face as the thought of stealing her came to mind. Lucien chuckled. "I wouldn't bother. She'd kill you and then I would have to come and get her. That would be a waste of energy." Lucien said in a bored tone. He stared at the man for a moment. He was a worthless piece of shit. "Hmm maybe I should let you take her." Leech woman hissed and Lucien chuckled. "I kid. I kid." He looked back to the man and sighed. "Go on now run away you're ruining my evening stroll." He said and the man scrambled to his feet and started to take off. Lucien chuckled and held his hand out to the man. The man stopped in his tracks, his body shaking as he tried to move but found that he couldn't. Leech woman patted Lucien's check when she saw that they were garnering too much attention. Lucien dropped his hand and released him. The man ran away screaming and Lucien laughed. He walked back over to the girl slowly and tried to resume their conversation. "Now where were we?" He asked.

Morning became day, and day became evening. By the time Lucien came by, Sammi had racked up a few pretty pennies. The only time she ate was when a woman came to her hold a McDonald's bag and a cup of tea (which she loved); the woman did this because she had the natural thought that people like Sammi were just wanting money for drugs and booze.
Sammi didn't tell her otherwise, though tried to pay her back. The woman wouldn't have it. And they parted ways.
Now, the large foam cup sat beside her, the contets being water (since the ice melted). She forgot about it just as soon as she drank the last trace, too busy making sure her brothers didn't pop up out of nowhere. She did see Lucien come up the street. How could anyone not? He's sharply dressed, with a wooden figure on his shoulder. She had the passing thought that he was quite handsome. Other than that, she let her mind go blank. When she was younger, more naive, she would find herself blushing and feeling ... excited (for a lack of better word) like Lucien would give her the time out of his day to talk to her. Fantasizing having a romance (because she was a hopeless romantic) even if they never met again.
Now? All she thought about was keeping Carly and herself alive. No time for silly things. Though, to be honest, she was kind of surprised that he DID stop to talk to her. And she was feeling very underdressed. "Thanks, " she responded, her attention focusing on him for a few moments. "Honest, though, I dunno what I'm playin'. Not payin' attention, really." At his asking what she was doing out here, she smiled a bit. "I'm a creature of the night, too." She said it half in jest - she couldn't shift into a wolf, despite the fact that her brothers were hunting her for it. "It don't bother me."
One could consider her a rednek. Hick, maybe. Desppite her highest grade all through school was English, her upbringing gauranteed improper grammar. Some people made fun of her for it. Hopefully this man wasn't one of them.
Sammi took a passing glance at Leechwoman before suppressing the urge to shudder at the chill running down her spine. She had a feeling this man was a "creature of the night" as well. Before she could make a comment, her cap was snatched up. Her hand holding the neck of the guitar moved suddenly to the pistol in the back of her jeans, fully intending to pistol-whip the man that darted to steal her hard work. But suddenly Lucien had it under control.
She didn't continue to play, instead becoming interested in the stranger that kept the man from stealing her money. Her eyes widened in shock, seeing Leechwoman move all on her own. And as the man and Lucien ... conversed (really, it was just one-sided) all she could take notice of was that the puppet moved all on her own. What even was this? Magic?
It took all she had not to just outright gawk - after all, her parents did teach her manners. "Thank ya for that." She glanced down the street, where the screaming man was heading. "Not sure whatccha did." Then she found herself glancing at the puppet on his shoulder. "So ... how does she move on her own?"

Lucien gave her a look and smiled. "Ah, well it was a beautiful tune you were playing. Tis a pity that idiots walk around and ruin such beautiful music." He said and Leechwaoman nodded in agreement. "Oh ok, fellow creature, what type are you then?" He asked rhetorically. He really didnt expect her to answer, though it would make for an interesting conversation.
When she commented on what he'd done he gave her a speculative look before he replied. "It was magic." He statted sarcastically and chuckled. "You're welcome." He said in a neutral tone. He straightened up and wondered if he had spent more time near the other nightwalker than necessary. He was assessing her soul to see if it was worth keeping. "Its a special kind of magic that is unknown to mortals." He said ain a mocking mocking voice and wiggled his fingers. "Or at least mortals of this realm." He said as an after thought.
He gently took Leechwoman from his shoulder and knelt down so that he could place her feet on the ground. "It's rather simple. She has a soul that enables her to do so." He said and watched for her reaction. He found that when you tell someone the blunt truth , they tend to believe it as a lie. He didnt understand that logic but he rolled with it.
Leechwoman walked over to her and stood in front of her and simply looked. She tilted her head this way and that trying to figure out what the girl was. "She is one of my prized posessions. You see I create puppets, though some would call them dolls -I detest the term, and each one is unique in its own little way." He explained and Leechwoman hissed. "Wel darling you are a bit on the small side of the scale." He said with a chuckle and Leechwoman stuck her nose in the air. Lucien chuckled enjoying the show she was putting on for the girl. She went to the guitar and reached out a hand to gently touch it.

Usually, when people got sarcastic with strangers, said strangers would get defensive. But for Sammi, sarcasm was appreciated. Especially when her life now consisted of serious things like running. Sammi couldn't go on without some sort of comic relief. So every time Lucien said something sardonic (even if it was at her expense) she found herself laughing.
"I'll tell if you do," Sammi said in response to Lucien's question. "Don't jus' spill secrets fer fun." Then she laughed; she found it funny.
Though Lucien's explanation had her raising a brow. Maybe she shouldn't be so skeptical. She was a werewolf, despite her lack of shift. Magic like that - or any kind, really - wasn't to be dismissed because she was an unbelievable being herself. Though putting a soul inside an inanimate object sounded impossible. Probably because it went against her beliefs about the afterlife. "In'nerestin'," she said with polite interest.
Her interest grew into something more than polite when Leechwoman was let down from Lucien's shoulder. With keen eyes of a hunter, she watched every movement Leechwoman made that she wasn't supposed to without Lucien. No, Sammi wasn't malevolent by nature, and didn't plan to hurt this puppet. She just had wonderful vision. And was experienced in keeping still, as if waiting for the perfect opportunity to pull the trigger and down the buck. Meaning, as Leechwoman reached for her guitar, she let it happen.
For a few, glorious moments, she forgot everything other than her wonder. "Well, ain't that sumthin'." Then she strummed the first few notes of a country song. "Do ya have a name?"

Lucien gave her an evil smile and leaned down towards her just a little and whispered. "I have many ways of making people spill their secrets, among other things." He said and chuckled darkly. He straightened up and and gave a slight bow. "I am what you would call a puppet master." He said and gave an evil grin. He was much more than that though Puppetry seemed to be one of his favorite things to delve into. He could make just about anything a puppet and often time did just that in one way or another.
"Now tell me, what are you my dear?" He said with a rasied brow. He watched her body language closely to see what she would do. When it came to his Puppets he was very particular about their treatment. To create them took time and the souls that inhabited them were carefully selected. He had one major rule when it came to them;dont mistreat the puppets. It angered him to no end when they were mistreated and the offenders paid dearly for it.
So he simply watched her and saw the interest there. When she didnt do anything, he deemed he wouldnt kill her. Leechwoman looked up at her and moved closer when she started to play music. She wanted to get closer so she moved to start climbing in the girl's lap."It looks like she likes your music." Lucien said with a chuckle. When she asked about a name he was unsure if she was talking to Leechwoman, who couldnt speak, or to him. But he answered her anyway.
"I am Luke, the puppet master and that is Leechwoman the puppet." He said with a shrug. "And you are?" He asked and after a moment he asked another question.
"Why are you out here alone? Do you not have family or friends to keep you company?" He probed.

Sammi couldn't be relaxed with him givig her an evil smile or chuckle or anything. Despite her instincts telling her that this wasn't an all-around good guy (they've been hounding her since the beginning, actually. Though at the sight of his teeth gleaing menacingly every time he parted his lips just had them screaing now) she didn't run. If he had any intention to kill her she'd rather die at his hands than her brothers'.
That way she wouldn't be absolutely crushed that they'd actually go through with their intent to harm her. And she would be more inclined to fight back.
"A hun'ner," she said honestly. Because that was what she was, first and foremost. A lot of hubters hunted at night or early in the morning. Both were times the sun wasn't out. Besides, if she told him she was a werewolf and he wanted proof, she wouldn't be able to give it to him. "S'easy stalk in the cover o' darkness."
At first, she wasn't too sure what exactly Leechwoman was doing. The guitar took much of her lap. Soon, it dawned on her that the puppet did intend to make herself comfortable. Frankly, Sammi didn't mind it. Not really. She moved her guitar a bit to give Leechwoman room, grinning a bit to herself.
"Sammi." She put the guitar pick her father gave her for her fourteenth birthday in between her teeth before handing her now-free hand out to shake. "Nice to meetcha." Then she looked down at the puppet in her lap and tilted her head a little in curiosity. "Why call her Leechwoman?" She purposefully ignored his question. It was too omplicated of a story.

He chuckled when she called herself a hunter. "What exactly do you hunt? You don't look like much of a hunter to me." He said with a raised brow. It was a bit comical to envision her as a hunter.
"Ah but it is just as easy in the light of day." He said with a shrug. "You seem to be more of a the hunted rather than the hunter." He proper a little as he watched her closely to see if he would get a reaction from her.
He smiled as he watched her with Leechwoman. "Nice to meet you too Sammie." He replied as he glanced around at the people around them. They seemed to give them a wide berth, no doubt their self preservation keeping them away. He looked back atSammie and wondered if she had any.
His eyes danced a little when she asked about about Leech woman's name. " That too is very simple. Its how she kills,or rather the the main method. From time to time she she likes to play with blades." He looked at Leechwoman and and smiled. "Go ahead and show her." He said and she looked at him before looking at Sammie.
She opened her mouth and and a large poisonous Leech came out and she held it in her her arms.and pet it as if it were a cat. She held it out to Sammie and Lucien chuckled. "Want to hold it? Its harmless as long as she likes you. You're in no danger from it." He said and chuckled.

Sammi's eyes narrowed a little. Just a little, because he would still be able to look at her gray eyes and see that she didn't like how he mocked her. Her gun was still nestled between her back and her jeans, and it took all that she had not to bring it out and show how well she can aim. She faked an amused sound, but not mocking his chuckle. "Funny."
Though she didn't need to tell him that she was on the run from her brothers. Something about him had Sammi thinking he wouldn't have cared less. Much less help her with her problem. So instead, she answered his question. "I hunt tons of things. As long 's they taste good, I don' care. Deer. Squirrel. Duck. Lots more. Not bears or wolves though." She shook her head a little.
Shortly after Lucian glanced casually around, a semi truck turned the corner of the road. Immediately Sammi's eyes had locked onto the windshield, wondering why there was a vehicle that large coming down the rather thin strip of asphalt. A few seconds later she quickly dismissed it to do her own quick scan of the area. There was no suspicious behavior – regarding her situation – so Sammi went back to watching Leechwoman.
She couldn't help but go slack-jawed when the leech came out of the puppet's mouth. It was evident that she was shocked. What was it that he said? Something about putting souls into puppets? Her eyes darted from him to her, barely shaking her head no to hold the leech. "Thanks –" she started to say, but suddenly a horn went off, scaring the daylights out of Sammi. Her heart thudded. Her head jerked up. And blood drained from her face when she saw who was driving it.
"Is this man botherin' ya, miss?" a heavy-set man with a beard asked, leaning over his passenger seat to talk to her. The eldest of her younger brothers had been driving that truck. How he got a hold of the vehicle she wasn't sure. Nor did she care. Sammi didn't respond verbally. Physically, she quickly scrambled up from her spot and slung her six-string around her back. There was now a wild look to her eyes. Like a wild animal that has been cornered.
"'S been fun meetin' ya," she said in a rush, bending to pic up her cap before starting to make her way toward the direction Bo had come from. "But I gotta go. Got stuff ta do, people ta see." And behind Lucian, he would have been able to hear the man curse and move the truck into drive. "Bye Leechwoman!"
It was difficult to fight against the crowd, clutching her cap of loose change against her chest. She kept looking over her shoulder repeatedly, regretting leaving the puppet and Lucian behind so rudely, but self-preservation kicked in. Besides, she saw another one of her brothers (Rick) trying his best to fight against the current of people to get to her.
Alleyways were the most cliché places to have one's life ended. But that's what happened to her. Rick had corralled her between two nondescript buildings. She quickly took the gun with the silencer from its place and turned her upper body to take aim. Of course, she had plenty of chances before hand to pick off her brothers one by one. But – call it whatever you want – she never had the heart to pull the trigger. Though this time she did. Because she knew that with one hand occupied with the jingling change and the bulky wood, her aim would be shoddy at best. There was a very low chance of her getting in a fatal shot. And she was right.
The first bullet she fired grazed his left arm. The second planted itself in his shoulder. The third just ricocheted. When she turned around she saw that yet another person was blocking her way. Harold, another of her brothers stood in a position that said that he was anticipating being run over. She used another bullet to purposefully shoot him in the thigh. But before she could here a strangled cry coming from his lips her world went black.
There was no life flashing before her eyes. And really, no pain. When she came to, it was like she just woke up from a coma. Her mind was groggy. Words jumbled around as if she were underwater. Coins and loose bills laid haphazardly on the ground around her, and Harold picked up her cap. The lightness she felt on her back showed that she no longer had her guitar.
And that she was dead.
"Pathetic," she heard something say, and slowly she turned her head to see a wolf standing rigidly with hackles raised beside her. "These beings you called brothers are now gloating over your body. Like you were an elusive animal evading their traps before they finally caught you." The words it spoke didn't come from its mouth. Rather it seemed to be speaking in a telepathic link.
"Hey Chuck!" Rick called, and a fourth and final man popped his head over the edge of one the buildings. "Nice shot!"
Suddenly. It hit so suddenly. Something Sammi's never felt before. A pure unadulterated rage that had a light that just came on go out two seconds later. It wasn't enough to see that Harold and Rick were bleeding. Because they were just ignoring the pain like they were trained to. Sammi had believed that they wouldn't actually hurt her. They were siblings, after all! But they had gone through with their threat. They easily picked up her body – careful of her head, because that's where she got shot at – and chucked it into the trunk of a waiting vehicle that came in shortly behind Harold's appearance.
And she couldn't do anything about it.

Lucian lifted a brow as Sammy told him what she hunted, though his focus soon turned to the vehicle that approached. The girl’s reaction to it was interesting. He didn’t bring any attention to it as she went back to watching Leechwoman who had been trying to give her the leech. It was clear to see the frown that marred Leechwoman’s face as Sammie refused her leech. Leechwoman opened her mouth and swallowed the leech whole and glared at Sammie. Lucien was trying to contain his amusement.
Hos amusement slowly faded when he heard the sound of a blaring horn. The noise was irritating to say the least. Once again the girls reaction to the vehicle was interesting though he would imagine anyone would have been startled by the sudden noise. He could hear the rapid flow of her blood as her thudded, it called to him. His thoughts were interrupted by a fat man with a beard. He’d wondered what the man would do if he had been bothering Sammie. He chuckled softly, that was an amusing thought. Though what wasn’t amusing was how quickly the girl got to her feet and ran. Leechwoman wasn’t happy and was silently cursing the girl, though when the girl told her “bye” she waved.
Lucien looked down at her shook his head. “You’re so fickle.” Leechwoman hissed at him as he bent down to pick her up. He started to walk away but leech woman wanted to follow the girl. “You know nothing good will come of these attachment you guys seem to be forming with random people. You always end up killing them in the end anyway.” He said with a shrug followed Sammy. “I guess a little entertainment would be welcomed. Lucien walked in even strides as he Followed the sound of Sammie’s blood. It was like a soft melody that called him.
He decided to take to the sky and follow her ignoring the confused looks of those that had been closest to him when he flashed off the ground. He stuck his hands in his pocket as he followed and watched. He watched the scene play out below him with mild interest. He made a soft tsk noise and watched as she lay dying on the ground in a filthy alley. “The hunted.” He said and listened as the melody of her blood grew weaker until it grew quiet.
He watched the girl’s confused soul over look what was going on with her body. The sight of the wolf was a bit of a surprise. “Ah such a waste.” He said to leech woman who patted his cheek. He started to leave when he felt the rage and anger coming from Sammie that had him smiling. He flashed down to where the two spirits were and smiled at them. “Well, that was unpleasant wouldn’t you agree?” He asked and grinned. “You know for a second I almost believed you when you said you were the hunter but you seemed to only prove my point when I said you were the hunted. I love it I call these things spot on.” He chuckled and his eyes turned blood red. He slowly moved a bit closer to Sammie and reached a clawed hand out to touch her.
The temptation to consume her soul was a pleasure pain. A soul seasoned in a vengeful rage was mouthwatering. “You want revenge? I can help you get it.” He said with a smile that stretched much wider than was humanly possible showing very sharp teeth.
