((I'm posting this in open because I honestly don't know where I would want to put it otherwise. Azalea only. You know. Since you said that Azalea was faster.))
Tall, sleek, and eyes striking enough to put most men on edge. Raikiri, or simply Kiri, honestly wasn't the most "striking" woman out there, but she definitely carried herself like she was top shit. Only 21, she had been raised by the demon Alder. Early in her life she had befriended Raijin, the Japanese god of lightning without her knowledge. In an event that put her life in danger, for the second time in her life, Raijin gave himself to save her. Through those emotions, he created Whisper, Kiri's kodachi. It was then that she had decided that she didn't want anyone else to sacrifice their own safety to save her ass and asked the one man that she feared the most - her adoptive father, Alder.
Through years of bone shattering, convulsing, and blood filled coughs, she had become one of the finest swordswomen to date. The fastest, too, when she used Whisper.
So Kiri watched the leader of the New Dawn curiously. The fight was nothing more than a spar, but she could tell that Azalea wasn't one to hold back just because the word "spar" was there. Killers knew one another fairly well. Maybe it was the feral look in Azalea's golden eyes, or the confidence of which she held herself. The idea that a woman could have that much confidence without knowledge of their opponent made her sick. It reminded her of Alder.
Because, truth be told, Kiri was still scared. She was staring at a woman who had seen things that Kiri couldn't have imagined.
She was staring at a woman much too old for her young figure.
To her, this fear meant that she was still human, though. That's at least what One promised her. She never wanted to become a Slayer, but she did want to help. So when One approached her and asked, she said yes.
"The moment that killing means nothing to you is the moment you're no better than the ones that you're killing."
That one solemn line was burned into her memory. One always says that to her, especially after a job that ended in her having to kill an innocent. The look he had given her when he said that, though, was still enough to make her skin crawl.
So when she watched the alpha standing across the sandpits of her training grounds, she felt fear. When she knew that she was an enemy in enemy territory and that other wolves were watching, some not too happy that she was a slayer, she swallowed.
"You say you're faster than me," Kiri called. "I'm sure that One's denied those claims."
