Azalea had pulled up in front of the cells, finding that there wasn't even a fresh scent in the area besides her mate's. Lily was already there when they pulled up, Aza knew Lily's car well enough after all. Lily hadn't had the thing for much longer than six months but the woman definitely made it her own. The moment the car doors were opened, you'd smell the bakery as if it was just a couple feet down the road. Of course, it also smelled of Lily- a scent that Azalea had a rather acute awareness of.
With a sigh, Azalea sent out the mind link. She gave Lily a brief wave as she began walking over, but the majority of Azalea's attention was centered on Ventia at the moment. Aza trusted the woman's capabilities, but regardless, a situation that dealt with rogues and hunters was something to be handled lightly. Despite Aza's trust in her elder's abilities, she also understood that Ventia had an itchy trigger finger. Grant it, the Alpha wasn't much better, what with the warmongering reputation preceding her. However, Azalea never screwed around with Hunters. A rogue? Kill it if it won't listen, plain and simple. A hunter? That's different...
You could kill hunters, fine and dandy. After all, before Azalea was even born, it was common practice to clear out hunter camps. The way one dealt with killing a hunter could be tricky though. After all, you kill one and an army could easily descend on you. Or worse, killing a hunter could risk exposure of the entire species. Azalea got a bit more cautious when it came to them, and the shoot first ask questions later style Ventia had didn't exactly fit that bill well.
"So, essentially, what you're telling me is that some rogue wants me to come out to the border, knowing hunters are after him, when it could easily be a trap for the hunters to kill me? Funny." Azalea sighed at the thought of it. She pulled the ATV over and rubbed the bridge of her nose as she draped herself over the steering wheel. It was around this time that Azalea allowed Lily to at least listen to the conversation over the link. "I don't give two shits if he used to be a pack member or not. Quite honestly, that just makes him more dangerous. If you can't get him back here, either disable him and drag him here or just take him out how you see fit. I'm going to contact Ryan and get them to push inward on the border. That fool just risked exposing us to hunters. The only pack in the country that doesn't have to deal with the bastards."
It was true. The New Dawn Pack had very little issues with Hunters, which was largely because of their location. They were in the middle of bum shit nowhere compared to other packs. The closest pack to them was Nightstar, and they were on their border with about a mile of space between the two. That pack actually crossed the border of the country though. Deadlands surrounded both of them without any discrimination. Hunters normally targeted packs, rogues were a bit more difficult unless you had a specific target, naturally. Despite the New Dawn being here for years, Hunters rarely went this deep into the Deadlands unless it was for a reason. Most Hunter threats had been dealt with, but there was always those few...Azalea hated dealing with them.
Azalea looked over at Zach, lifting her eyebrow. "You might be needed, because if Ventia doesn't hurt this guy, I might."
She got off of the ATV, turning and smiling at Lily, her arms wide open for a hug. Honestly? She didn't expect it to happen, but it had been so long since they'd been near each other...she hoped it would be returned. She was just being careful not to get her hopes too high.
"Right here to the cells, Lil. Ventia's got a rogue on the border that's causing us both issues. If you'd like to help, it would be appreciated." For once, the hostile and murderous Alpha seemed to have a genuine smile on her face. Her mate and family managed to do that for her, few other people could.
