Harley hurried to do as her mother asked, forcing the initial reaction of crying and hugging her big sister because she was hurt away as the calm demeanor of her mother's teachings took over her. She breathed slowly, forcing her movements to be quick but precise as she went to fetch all the supplies.
Bringing them back to her mother and helping her with whatever she asked, as well as keeping a eye open to what her sissy had to say and the commotion outside, assured that since Mommy had said that Daddy was okay, that he really was.

Nathaniel lips twitched, almost threatening to smirk. "Jewel always has good calls." He told the man, watching Jackson as he spoke and once again, seeing himself. Instead of seeking revenge like Jackson had decided to do, Nathaniel had buried himself in work. After all, he still had his brother. Unlike Jackson, who didn't need to take care of anyone. Didn't have anyone to soften the blow of abandonment or to share it with, Nathaniel did have that.
But he could have imagined what it felt like for Jackson. Because he had lost his brother for a long time. He believed he had died in the hands of his enemies. He had tried taking revenge for that was all he could do. It was everything that kept him going. Revenge for all the pain he had felt when his brother had been ripped away from him. Women. Drugs. Sex. That hadn't kept him living. It helped of course. But it had been the revenge that kept him alive.
It was probably the only thing that had kept Jackson alive as well. Nathaniel couldn't find it in him to hate the boy. Nor could he let his family be jeopardized either. So he watched as Andy bounded him up and nodded at what the Beta had to say. Of course the alphas should be told. Would they be relentless? Sometimes they did. Nathaniel didn't want to find out however. After all, Jackson was still his blood.
Orso's voice shocked him, he hadn't heard him coming nor had he smelled him. It was a clear sign of the state that he was in. It wasn't good. Hell. How he managed to stay up, even sagging against the tree, was beyond Nathaniel. His knees were shaking. His legs were tired. His chest hurt. His stomach was still turning. His eyes burned. If he even admitted it, tiny-mere flecks of black dots were popping in his vision.
"The boy." Nathaniel said instead, still sagging against the tree, but his chin was pointed towards Jackson. "He used too much power which his body forced him to knock out so that he couldn't use the last bit. There's also a cut on his right hand, I'm not sure if it's healing. Vital signs must be low. He's going to need to get some calories back in his system."
Nathaniel closed his eyes, not wanting to look at Jackson. "The boy." He repeated, using sheer willpower or just stubbornness to stay upright. "Jewel's inside with Thea," he said softly, his voice almost as dry as his mouth. "Thea's hurt. Burns. Bruises. Maybe some bones as well. Jewel might need some help. They were healing and Thea was outside for a good seven minutes. There should have been slight changes in the skin but there was none. I'm not sure what had happened to her in detail."
Damn he was tired. He wanted to sit. To stop talking. To rest. But there were two male packmates in his territory-his home. Jewel was unprotected by them and by Jackson. Who if he woke up, could very well still have enough juice to do something. Nathaniel didn't want to think that he would. But it was still a possibility. Thea was hurt. She couldn't protect everyone without hurting herself more. The newborns. Harley. Jewel.
Nathaniel opened his eyes, pure yellow filled them. The hazel had been utterly consumed by the dark yellow trademark coloring of the Constantine's, even his pupil had dilated. He felt a adrenaline rush of power, from his beast-his eagle. The eagle masked the pain, numbing it as though he had been on drugs once more and everything had left him for a few moments. His legs settled down and no longer was he trembling.
Nathaniel tested the limit and straighter against the tree, feeling his muscles clench in response but holding their ground and not collapsing. He glanced towards the porch, towards his territory. His home. His kin was in there. Unprotected babes. Unprotected mate. His. Territory.
Nathaniel eased away from the tree and took a step, the eagle within desperate to make sure his territory wasn't going to be overtaken by two single males. Two strong males. Healthy males. Males that could try to take his mate. His nest. His territory.
No. This was his.
Nathaniel walked across the yard, up the steps of the porch and then leaned against the front door, becoming a human barrier to that of the three men and his territory.
The human consciousness came back then, Nathaniel reminding himself that the two strong single men were his packmates. Reminding himself that Jewel loved him and she wasn't no vulnerable princess. She was a wolf and no one wanted to come between a wolf and her babes. He reminded himself that they were here to help him. That they hadn't come to try to challenge him in his weaken state for his home. For his family. His wife and children. They came here for help.
Nathaniel shuddered, the adrenaline losing its grip on him and his eagle returning to its home, deep inside of Nathaniel. His dark yellow gaze slowly filled up with dark hazel bronze flecks until there was only a few shades of his eagle left.
Nathaniel let go of a shaky breath and laughed a bit softly, feeling the power unclench itself from his body and leaving him in the same state he had been by the tree. Shaky. Tired. Weak. But at least, he was now in front of the entrance to his house. He wasn't sure how he would be able to move now since the eagle had given him all of its strength just to take those meager few steps over here. But Nathaniel was sure that he'd figure it out.
"Would you like to come inside?" He said despite the earlier emotions. Because now he had remembered that they weren't competition for him and instead were just trying to help. Plus. Nathaniel liked them, he was just...tired and weak from Jackson's death curse.
"You can always leave him outside once your done with him. He doesn't seem to be going anywhere and I'm not sure if Jewel wants him instead even if he's bound and gagged."
