VentiaIt's kind of embarrassing to have a panic attack in front of strangers. Good thing Lynn didn't have one here. "Lynn, please sit still." That was the doctor. Jewel. The woman who was supposed to be her aunt. The other doctor there, Heinz (she remembered her supposed aunt calling him), was treating to Gem's wounds. Just minor ones, the woman that looked nothing like her insisted to the man that looked exactly like her. The impression she got from her … mother was startling. Her eyes (the only thing Lynn seemed to inherit from her) were framed by black lines and dots. War paint, especially the various runes and curved ropes on her dominant arm, made her like an avenging angel. Her hair was tied up in intricate knots before it fell in a thick braid to just below her shoulder blades. It was intimidating. She, along with the heat from the other bodies in the two-bedroom house (she knew how many, because Jareth was in one and no one was allowed in the other one) was overwhelming. If anything, that alone would set off her GAD. Maybe it was because Jareth was in there. She'd bet money on that. He was there, even, in her mind via mate link, and she was so glad that it was working to the fullest of its abilities. But she felt antsy. Lynn wasn't in there with Jareth. They didn't have a proper reunion, and he almost died because of her. Thanks to the combined effort of Heinz and Jewel, he didn't. Thank God. Yet she couldn't help but look at the closed door every so often, worrying if he'd be stubborn and walk out of the room. Lying belly-side down on the table, she felt the metal tweezer things take hold of something that wasn't her muscle or tissue or even the bone of her shoulder blade. The drugs she had been given was a blessing – well, they weren't drugs so much as numbing herbs, since Jewel wasn't sure if legit drugs would work on her – otherwise she really would have squirmed. This was a necessity though. Colonel Jenkins had issued a tracking chip on her shortly after Jareth left (supposedly with no memory of Lynn or anyone he came into contact with, yet Orville made sure he didn't) to make sure she didn't have a bright idea to go AWOL while out on a mission. But it made her sick. At least, she wasn't up to her max strength. It had gotten difficult to shift, and she never really felt like eating. She had been sleeping more often than not. Even now, just before Jewel plucked it out, she felt as if she had a sour stomach. "There," Jewel muttered, followed by a clink as it hit the metal bowl Harley was holding. "Thea, go destroy that thing. Your hacker made sure it was deactivated before we escaped, but I don't feel too comfortable yet." "Fine," she heard her new-found cousin reply, then take the piece with a scrape up the side, hurting practically everyone's sensitive ears, then weaving around bodies to get to the door. The Guild was gone just as soon as Lynn was out of the base. Which was good, Thea had mentioned, since the Guild hated Jewel and would prolly kill her on site. But there was still a lot of people. Her maternal grandfather. Her six cousins. A few aunts and uncles. Jareth's mother (who was more intimidating than Gem). Thankfully, there was barely anyone in the kitchen. She couldn't stand a lot of people. "Thank you, Jewel," Gem whispered when the doctor was finished stitching up the surgical cut she made. "Anything for family."

Ventia leaned against the wall right next to the door where Jareth was in. Her senses were mostly attuned to what was behind her-her son. The soft sounds of the machines, his slow breathing, the slow but steady beat of his heart, and anything and everything. She hated how vulnerable he was because of his condition and how easily hurt he could be. She had told him to stay out of it, that she would make sure this Lynn of his was rescued. But no, he was as stubborn as she was.
He had almost died. Jewel did her best and so did the other doctor but she could still feel her son on the edge, where at any given time throughout the night, something could happen. Her grey eyes darkened as silver swirls flooded her gaze and she felt Scar growl low at the same moment that Lynn glanced at her son's door. Ventia made a effort to relax whenever Lynn glanced her way, for it wasnt her fault that Jareth had a medical condition. Plus, Jareth cared for her which meant Ventia might have a daughter-in-law soon. The thought of grandbabies almost made her smile through the maternal instinct to kill anyone who dared touch the door where her weak son laid. Almost.
Her phone buzzed against her pocket and she glanced at it, the tightness in her chest easing by a milestone. Good, she was here. Finally. Ventia eased off the wall and had to force herself to not glare at anyone and demand that no one go near while she was gone. They were all family and friends of family. Ventia rolled her eyes at Thea but made her way behind her, needing to go outside.
The kids were in the living room, walking around on unsteady legs around everyone that were distracting them from running to their mother. Lucian was giggling at his older sister Harley who was sitting on the arm of the sofa, he already had a full head of bright blonde hair with big hazel eyes and a wide grin. Harley was saying something to him and his laughter was contagious since a few moments later, everyone smiled or laughed.
Dimitri was next to his father, who was sitting on the floor, glancing mostly at his kids but also at his wife. Dimitri was the complete opposite of Lucian, with a head of seemingly black-brown hair and bright brown eyes that were predicted to be a exact copy of his mother's. He was grabbing onto Nathaniel's shirt, trying to tippy-toe to see what his father was. After a few moments, a smile of pure joy came out.
"Mamma!!!" He yipped happily and Nathaniel grinned back, "Mama, yes." He agreed and pulled one of his little angels closer and glanced back at Hallie who was currently with X who was as usual in his lion shift and Penny was close by, every once in a while smiling at the pureness from Hallie. He pulled his gaze away from his little girl and glanced at Jasper who was with Evanna and Timothy playing with the children blocks that they had brought with them from home.
He glanced back towards his wife and eased up from the floor, pulling Dimitri near his Aunt. "Go with Tia Avery while I check up on Mama, okay?"
Dimitri pursed his lips, glanced at Mamma, and then nodded before running flat out towards his Uncle and Aunt who were seated on the couch. Once Nathaniel was sure that all the kids were distracted, he slipped away from the living room and eased into the kitchen around the time Ventia had walked past. He smiled warmly at Lynn and Gem but made his way next to Jewel, needing to touch her almost more than she needed a calming touch. He rubbed circles into her shoulders and kissed the back of her head, "How's everything going in here?"
It was dark outside the house but outside was sort of crowded as well, Killian and Ruby were smoking a cigarette on the porch, Brooklyn was near by Killian and Ruby had dragged out Sybil over here so that she could interact with the new life that she had been forced upon and try to show her that it wasnt so bad. So Sybil was there too, a little out of place but not too freaked out which Ruby was happy about. Then Thea was out there destroying the chip and once Ventia stepped out the door, a new person seemed to materilize from the dark corner.
Lucrezia.
"There's old magic here," was the succubus first words and suddenly everyone outside was alarmed. Brooklyn had pulled out her gun, Ruby and Killian looked ready to lunge and Thea probably as well if Ventia hadnt raised a hand to calm them down.
"She's with me, relax everyone." Ventia took the porch steps in two and reached out for Lucrezia the exact moment a loud bone-chilling snarl came from behind the house.
"What's that?" Lucrezia said with more interest than fear but eased her body nonetheless in front of her lover, the movement wasnt lost on Ventia but Ventia was so used to Lue's protectiveness of her that it made the tightness in her chest ease up even more.
"One of the reasons why I wanted you here. Come on," Ventia tugged her succubus lover around the house towards the dark shadows of the forest that was their backyard. Even through the shadows there was a vivid purple flame peeking out. Every step they took, the temperature jumped up-getting hotter and hotter until it felt like they were right next to a bonfire.
"Aiden, can you come out? I think my friend here can help you."
Lucrezia glanced at Ventia horrified and interest, "You make me come here to help whatever that thing is? Talk about kinky babe."
Ventia glared, "Shut up."
Aiden scoffed and sparks of purple tendrils of flames escaped from his gigantic mouth. But soon, the dragon eased away from the cover of dark branches and trees and exposed his front towards the pair. His runes were burning green against the rough scales in a attempt to rip away his true nature and keep him contained in a humanoid body. But for some reason, the curse wasnt working. Every emerald pulse of the curse brought enough pain to bring Aiden to his knees and yet he stood stubbornly tall.
Lucrezia was six feet herself and this thing doubled her even in her true form. She felt a urge to drink him dry-it was tempting. Such old magic...but the presence of Ventia behind her stopped that thought cold. Lue rolled her head around her shoulders, feeling the bones crack. She pushed her magic against his and felt a tremble in the air. She pulled just a little and the magic eased away from him willingly, and she felt the problem.
In the next moment, she was undressing. "I hope you dont have another being of old magic lying around here that you need me to help because I wont be able to do it."
"My son isnt old magic."
"Then I'll manage." Lue brushed her fingertips briefly against Ventia's cheek before pulling off her underwear. Nude, she let go of her restraints and instantly her magic flared. Bones cracked. The creamy complexion of her skin shifted to ivory to a tinge of purple. Her ears grew out as steel hard horns curved out of her head, her dark red hair grew longer, nails turned into long needles of claws, her amber in her eyes grew brighter until red filled her gaze and now she stood higher than what she was before. Power ripped through her body, chains forming around her breasts and her loin as well as around her neck, a long purple velvet tail curled seductively around her thigh and leg as the skin in her back ripped, splitting apart and allowing the wings to unfold and spring from her back.
Power filled her and the taste of the old magic made Lucrezia, High Demon of the Underword, first daughter to Lilith want to break every last thing that held her together and take anything that would make her more powerful. Kill off and feed from all that was within-
"Lue baby?" A cool voice grabbed the demon's attention and she turned, her tail curving along the thick magic in the air. The voice had come from a woman, Lucrezia wanted to ignore her but those eyes...silver swirls came from within those dark grey eyes and the woman reached out, offering her wrist. Lucrezia cocked her head, wanting to just turn and drink from the beast behind her but damn, she couldnt resist that hand. She grabbed it, her blood red nails digging into the skin and piercing it, staring at the drops of blood that followed the curve of her claws.
Lucrezia dipped her head down and ran her tongue along the injured wrist. The taste of the woman's blood brought Lue out of the heady haze and she pressed her lips against Ventia's wrist now in a kiss full of affection. "Hmm, I want to play." She sucked gently on the skin and felt Ventia tremble just a little.
"Later, help me first."
"As you wish," She pulled away from Ventia, now cool headed and turned towards the old dragon. "I'll help you willingly, you owe me nothing. Now, you're holding on to much to this form. Your emotions are too extreme, you need to relax or else this curse will kill you. Its sucking your magic into it more so than ever, thats why its pulsing green. This form isnt your life anymore. You can break from this curse if you wanted to-but that's not what you want anymore isnt it, old one? You want to go into that house, dont you."
Little puffs of purple flames danced off from Aiden.
"I thought so." Lucrezia flapped her wings and soon she was eye level with the old monster, she touched the rough scales of his cheeks and felt the purple flames burn her skin-or try to. Her red eyes darkened as she pushed her magic into the dragon. He snarled but her skin was too rough for mere hot breath to burn. Her skin glowed red and her tail snapped around his throat, her wings flapping every now and then to hover in the air.
"It's time, old one." Lucrezia whispered into his purple depths and soon the monster crumbled beneath her until she was holding on to one very hot, very naked man. She eased down and gently placed the man down, wiping the sweat off of his brow as she watched the runes lose that green light. Her tail tugged Ventia closer, needing to have her lover near her or else she would have drained the old dragon dry.
After a few moments, Aiden opened his Imperial purple eyes and stared up at the two women. They stepped back, Lucrezia herself forcing her true nature to go into the shadows as her bones and muscles shifted and she too was naked. She started to dress as Aiden made his way to his feet and then back to the forest. He came back at the same time Lue was standing up from putting her shoes on, and Aiden was fully dressed. He held out his hand to Lucrezia and Lue took it with a smile.
"Thank you, I can go see my daughter now."
Lue shrugged, "It was nothing, now lets go see my step-son."

It was her fault.
Jareth would have insisted that it wasn't, but him being in that room, with his mother practically shooting daggers at her and her own mother and great-grandpa attemtping to be her metaphorical shields ... he wouldn't be in such a critical state if it weren't for her. It was fate that they met. His decision to be side-by-side with the Guild in rescuing her. But if only she had been stronger. She wasn't able to stay with him. Just a brief kiss when they saw each other before they parted ways.
Go! I'm right behind you.
But he wasn't. The Guild did exactly what they were paid to do: rescue the redhead-who-was-supposed-to-have-black-hair. From what Anderson (her great-grandpa, apparently) had explained as Jewel and Heinz worked on Jareth, Travis had cornered him. Which confused Lynn only momentarily before Anderson went on, "He was no longer human. I felt the same old magic as Aiden, your father. The same old magic that flows through you. But his body did not really accept it. He had been mutated. He was no longer your comrade."
"Mutated, how?" she asked, her mind going back to when Jenkins ordered her blood be drawn shortly before her tracking chip. That was the first time Jewel had told her to be still.
"I have met only one other being with just as ugly a transformation. He was a demon's pet. It is not something to relay with children present. I have taken care of it. Travis. I didn't find anyone else that Jareth remembered."
The exlplosion still rang in her ears. Her throat seized up. There couldn't have been a single survivor in that explosion. That whole base ... gone. The people she grew up with ... obliterated. Bo, Orville, Nataya ... even Jenkins and Travis. Not to mention the soldiers and the nurses. They all had families. That couldn't have been part of the plan. Jareth didn't say anything at all about the base blowing up.
"I didn't want anyone to die," Lynn protested, her first instinct to get up off the table.
"Sit still."
"Jewel, stop being so forceful." Gem glared at Jewel, but Jewel wasn't afraid to glare back. "Lynn is overwhelmed -"
"I can fight my own battles, thanks," Lynn had snapped, instantly startling Gem into quiet.
**
Now, with Ventia out of the room and the chip out of her shoulder, Lynn felt as if a small weight had been lifted from her chest. Did she feel bad about snapping Gem? A little. But she could get over it. She slowly slid off the table she had been laying on for what seemed like forever before looking at the people around her. It was hard to believe that after so long of being told that she was the only one of her kind, a family was practically being shoved on top of her. And not just people that had been hand-picked from the government to run some experiments. Blood-related people (a few non-blood-related) that all shared the common trait of transformation. Even Heinz could morph.
Momentarily, she forgot the pain she was going to feel when these herbs wore off. The explosion that took down her first-ever home. But she didn't forget Jareth. Never would she ever.
Jenkins was right to tell her she was the only one in existence; otherwise she would have escaped a long time ago.
Jewel was tired and hungry. She was sure Heinz was too. At least the tired part. Fighting against time and a disease that could be deadly was difficult. It took a lot out of a person, she wasn't afraid to admit. So when Nate came to her, she let his fingers work their magic, wsihing that they were alone so that he could tend to all of her aching muscles. She heard her children's giggles and smiled. "Better, now that no one is in immediate danger." Her gaze travelled to her grandfather, who scooted past Lynn (whose eyes moved to the door where her mate was in yet again) to get to the living room. The only thing that separated the two rooms was a bar that went only a quarter of the way across the house. From her perch, she saw everything. From Avery's nose-nuzzling before her gentle tossing with Dimitri in the air to Jasper's tall tower to Hallie's tug on X's ear to Luc's smiling face.
"Maybe now we can breathe easy, since there's no kidnappers around the corner, hmm?"
Ludin wasn't given a fair hand this time around. He knew it. The gods had it out for him. But he couldn't help it. His mantra right now? "Screw the gods". His grandfather included. Harley was definitely Colette. How could she not? Jewel had said one lesson with her bow and arrow, Harley was a pretty good shot. Another lesson, Harley understood that she was to be quick in redrawing. Soon, Harley was surpassing her teacher. And that was because Colette had taught Jewel how to shoot an arrow. One reason after another to believe that Harley was his love reincarnated piled up. They outweighted his resistance. He couldn't help his hand on her shoulder. Leaning over her other one to smile at Luc. Take in the scent that had driven him crazy when he first met Colette on that chilly shore one fateful morning.
It was innocent, his closeness. His contact was only brief, so as not to startle Harley when he came up behind her. Yet for him, that was the only thing he would allow himself.

They followed Aiden back towards the front of the house and up the porch as if they didn't just have a huge major magic tug of war. There was a something in the way Aiden moved now that hadn't been there before, excitement mostly to finally be with his daughter and wife. To see their only baby that had been taken from them. Though she wasn't a baby anymore. Aiden mourn the loss of those precious years but she was home now and it seemed like he couldn't bare to lose even a moment. It was why he had been stuck in his true form. His emotions to the rescue of his daughter were too extreme that he couldn't break the link to allow the curse to take hold of him.
He moved through the living room, glancing briefly at the kids and felt the longing for his own kin deepen. His stride widen, his body temperature rose, and a tightness in his chest took hold of him at the sight of his baby girl over the bar. He moved into the kitchen then and stared at Lynn, his penetrating purple eyes imprinting every little detail into his brain.
"You'll have to excuse your mother, we still think you're a toddler. Now that we have you back, it's going to be hard to not be overly protective over you. After all, you are only baby...you've grown up well Lynn." Aiden wanted to hold his daughter but he knew it would be too soon so instead he moved towards his Gem, closer to his daughter now and ran a finger along Gem's back.
"We can relax Jewel. There will be no more pain in this family tonight and for many nights to come. Thank you for your assistance, it wouldn't have been this successful without you."
Nathaniel chuckled, "She is my darling doctor after all." Now that she was done, Nate wrapped his arms around her and rested his chin on her head, pulling her back into the comfort of his chest and finding it easy to breathe now that everyone was taken care of.
Ventia had paused to watch the little reunion before she eased Lue towards Jareth's door. Her maternal instincts kicked in when she once again heard his shallow breathing and Scar started to growl once more but suddenly, Lue's hand was touching her back and Scar whimpered into that warmth and quieted. Ventia found it easy to breathe as she opened the door and the pair slipped in, closing the door silently behind them.
Jareth had fallen unconscious with all the blood loss and emergency surgery he needed to survive. His skin was almost blue-purple and besides from the wounds he had been inflicted with, there were multiple bruises on him. Ventia reached out tentatively, her fingers shaky as she brushed his hair out of his face. Even now, Lue caressed her back but the demon didn't enjoy the sight of a child she had taken under her wing either.
"He's stable for the moment." Ventia leaned back into Lue's body while Lue was the next one to brush the hair out of the boy's face, gently touching his forehead after.
"Yes. He'll be okay Ve. But for assurances..." Lue eases away from Ventia and bent down across the table, cupping Jareth's cheek and then pressing her lips against his forehead. Her chi left her then, filling the pores of Jareth's skin and then penetrating deeper until it mingled with his own life force. She forced more of her chi into him, wanting to have reassurance that he would live for not only Ventia but for herself as well. When she eased back, Jareth's coloring was already losing the blue tinge. She caressed his cheek once more and then wrapped her arm around Ventia, hugging the woman close.
"Thank you." Ventia hid her face in Lue's neck and suddenly Lue felt a wetness. She didn't say anything, just stared at Jareth as his body started to heal itself faster with a boast to his chi. His usual coloring was back within the first few moments and then after a few minutes, his heartbeat grew stronger and his breathing came easier. Lucrezia glanced at his vital signs and saw that they too were showing better numbers. She wouldn't be surprised if the stubborn boy would force his body to awaken if he was anything like his mother. Which he was. Only matter of time now.
In the meantime, Lucrezia took watch.
Harley had been trying the whole night not to go near him. Even though his presence called to her exactly the same way it did in that mall all that time ago. When she walked up with so much confidence that she was safe with him. She wanted to do that tonight. Walk up to him and stay by his side but she hadn't. She didn't want to be a burden on him as he saved Lynn. She had been so worried and when she saw that he was practically untouched, the pain in her chest had vanished into butterflies. She wanted to hug him and blabber about how happy she was that he wasn't hurt but she couldn't.
So she distracted herself with her younger siblings but not completely. It was why she had been sitting on the arm of the couch, so that she could see over the bar and into the kitchen. To where Ludin was. So when she noticed him coming by, she glanced down at Luc. Her hair covering her face just a little and she giggled at Luc's silliness even as she felt that old soul coming closer.
When he touched her shoulder, her body relaxed almost instantly and she wanted to lean back into him and just stay there in that safe cocoon of emotions. But she didn't. She twisted her head, tucked the strands of hair under her ear and smiled just for him at him. She stared up at his face and felt once again how relieved she was that he was alright.
"Everything went good today, right?"

Jareth had told her one late nigh about her parents. How they weren't fugitive outlaws, and instead they were well-respected people where they were from. What he didn't tell her was that her father was a dragon.
It was definitely shocking to see Gem riding a dragon. What was even more so shocking: "Oh, by the way. You're part dragon. Thats your father."
It was difficult to fathom it; it was easier to think he was just a foreign man, especially when he came in the room to stand behind Gem. Lynn eyed him curiously, taking in the features she inherited from him. Really, just give her a beard and colored contacts, and no one would tell the difference. She felt his praise waft around her like sweet smoke from a candle. Yet she knew that she didnt deserve it. Like Jenkins had said time and time again, her GAD made her practically afraid of her own shadow. Not to mention that she was the reason why Ventia sent her icy glares (Way to make a first impression, Lynn).
A lump started to form in her throat, and she had to look away before her desire for what her parents had for her and Jareth kindled; she wouldn't be surprised if Jareth didn't want anything to do with her now. She shouldn't even be thinking about it. Or Aiden's praise.
"Well, I'm glad you guys aren't evil," she replied lamely. Surely Jareth told them what she had believed of her parents all along. Still, there was that explosion. Had it been her dad that did it? Or Anderson, who didn't "find" her friends. Of course, she didn't believe her family was bad. But those two might be bad apples. Lynn couldn't help but feel a twinge of suspicion.
"Of course not," Gem replied, smiling brightly before it dimmed a bit when Lynn didn't look back.
Ludin's gaze was warm when he looked toward Harley, a smile only for her on his own face beneath his beard. "Other than obliterating the place, everything went according to plan. I'm quite impressed with how the Guild worked, despite their dislike with our family. It must be because of Thea." He straightened then, forcing himself to release her shoulder. He rubbed at his jaw, the hairs on his face rustling before he moved around her to pick Jasper up. For a shifter, he was quite chubby, his chin covered in saliva. Ludin picked him up with ease and placed him on his shoulders.
Jasper squealed at the height, slapping his grandfathers head a couple times. He squinted a bit, then turned when the door opened. Now, he knew that Aiden needed help with his shift. But he wasn't ready for the new woman that walked in with Ventia and him. Was he intimidated? He was the son of the Destroyer of the World. He was a nightmare (kind of funny to think when he had a pup on his shoulders). He fought nightmares. The magic the demon exuded wasn't something that scared him. But there was a primal part of him that didn't like how Lucrezia walked into his home without acknowledging him.
A click of his jaw to keep himself from growling ensued. Then he took Jasper from his shoulders and sat him back down to play with his blocks. "I'm glad we are all all right. Are you hungry?"

He woke up slowly-with fingers twitching, brows frowning, legs shaking, eyes moving side to side under closed lids, lips parting to take in deep gulps of air, and exhaling with a painful gasp here and there. Ventia didnt want him to wake up, hell she tried getting Lue to force him back asleep but the damn woman said that was beyond her. Sure, helping a dragon was no problem but forcing a child back to sleep was beyond her? Ventia merely rolled her eyes, knowing the real reason Lue didnt try to stop Jareth from waking up.
She had a soft spot for him. Ventia sighed and leaned over the table, pressing her fingers against his pulse and feeling the warmness come off from his skin. She stroked his hair and curled a few strands over his ear as her touch roused him more from the deep sleep he had gone in. Soon though, the stubborn boy lifted his eyes and soon Ventia was staring into silver eyes.
Her little boy.
"W-wheres Lynn?" He licked his lips, swallowed the dryness in his throat and felt around the bed as if somehow his mate had been transformed into palm sized and was hiding somewhere on the bed next to him.
"Shes okay," Ventia glanced at the door and then back at her son, "Dont you dare get up. You're still weak from the retrieval."
"Where." Jareth glanced where his mother had glanced at, and then frantically tried to find their link. His head pounded almost as much as his heart did, but the only thing he kept seeing in his head was the back profile of Lynn as he told her to run. Suddenly, it was their. Their bond. He dig his fingers into it and felt her all around him instantly. Her emotions flooded his and likewise his flooded hers. He felt her then and Jareth fell back onto the mattress with his eyes closed and a sigh escaping his lips.
She was alive.
"Lynn. Lynn. Lynn." He repeated her name in his head, through their link, not so much because he wanted her here with him but more because he could. He was alive to say her name and she was alive to hear it. She was safe now. The pounding in his head eased and he clung to their link, filling himself with the feel of her there with him. It was exactly what he had done when they tried stealing his memories of her. It was what he had done all those lonely nights after their separation.
Cling to her in the only way he could. It was why their link was so strong that just having it opened and feeling her there was enough for him to not hurt himself more by getting up and running (or really stumbling) until he could feel her for himself. With their link? He could feel her. Feel her nervousness. Her worry. Her conflicting emotions. Jareth felt his Lynn and she could feel him. Feel his desperate need to know she was safe. Feel his relief. Feel the strong emotions he had for her and how they were intensifying with each moment. His happiness that she was there and safe. Feel the encouragement and the love he held for her.
"I'm home," his mind whispered into their link and God, wasn't that the truth?
Aiden gave Gem a little squeeze of encouragement when Lynn hadn't turned to see Gem's smile almost at the same time Ventia opened the door with something that could almost be called a smile on her face.
"He's up." She told them and glanced at Lynn, her face finally relaxed and she even managed a little smirk. "First thing he asked was if you were okay. He's a bit silly." Ventia then moved back into the room, leaving the door open for anyone to come in.
Harley giggled at Ludin's words and leaned forward on the arm seat, unable to resist her body moving forward closer to him once she lost his touch. It was as if her body was a magnet for him and when he got near, she couldnt resist the pull that he had on her soul. "When do you guys not ever blow everything up when something big happens!"
She pursed her lips, "Though if I were to get kidnapped, I expect a big kadoom! So keep up the good work Ludey. Mmhm, I'm hungry! Are you gonna make me food?"

Lynn had felt the link in the back of her mind, and it gave her assurance that Jareth was sleeping. Now, it enveloped her, making her eyes go distant. The link was all she could focus on as he spoke her name through it Jareth, she responded, relief washing all other of her emotions away. The guilt. The worry. Her suspicions of Anderson and Aiden. All the anxiety.
A broad smile brightened Lynn's eyes. Gem knew that smile - it was the same smile she had when it came to Aiden. There, the mother felt a twinge of jealousy. Her opportunity to be a mother had been taken from her. For twenty long years, she and her mate searched endlessly; now that she and Aiden found her, Lynn didn't want anything to do with them. Rather, her daughter was attached at the wip with her own mate.
She felt herself scowl, and she had to turn her head toward Jewel and Nate to hide it from Lynn.
When the door opened to Jareth's room, Lynn immediately stood up and faced Ventia. Her heart hammered against her chest, butterflies flew around in her stomach. At the mention of Jareth being silly, she laughed. Then she moved, passing by Thea with Jasper on their way to Jewel and Nate.
Just inside the doorway, she stopped; took a look at all the machines he was hooked to; and vaguely wondered where the machines came from.
This is my fault. She shouldn't have come in here. But she couldn't discipline herself. When it came to Jareth, all the sense she had flew out the window. Her feet moved without any objection from her so that she could sit at the end of his bed. The butterflies were still flying as she met his silver gaze. She still smiled, but the light in her eyes was subdued. "I missed you."
Ludin remembered first meeting Colette. Their conversatipns on that rocky shore revealed a lot about each other. Colette had wanted adventure and action in her life - being stuck cooking and cleaning and being hidden away with her uncle Simon produced neither of those things. Ludi wasn't surprised to hear that she'd like an explosion if ever what had happened with Lynn happened to her. In fact, he was amused. "I hope no one is stupid enough to kidnap you."
When the door opened, Ludin looked to see who was coming in. The scent told him that it wasn't an uninvited guest. It was just Thea, who had a self-satisfied smile on her face. "That was fun."
"Sissy!" Jasper grinned, forgetting all about his blocks to reach up for Thea. That smile brightened to a doting one, and she went up to lift him onto her hip. "Hey, chubby."
Ludin brought his attention back to Harley sharply when she said his name - or, his nickname - eyebrows raised slightly. Only Harley knew his true name. Not even Jewel, Gem, or Thorn knew it. Or that he was Fenrir's youngest. (That, Harley had given him no hint whether she remembered that last bit from her past life.) Ludin didn't reprimand her, though. "Oh, I don't cook. And my kitchen is too full to maneuver. I was thinking of ordering pizza."
"That sounds good," Thea interrupted Ludin, then sighed dramatically when Jasper called out for his mother. "What, am I not good enough for you?"

Aiden watched Lynn go and sighed just a little before kissing the top of Gem's head. "At least we know shes actually alive now. Safe. Alive. It's better than what we knew before. She's right there darling, we might have lost the time where she grew up, but that doesnt mean we cant make up for that lost time now." Aiden eased down next to her and let his unnatural warmth wash away the coldness that he knew had taken over her body once again.
"She's still our baby girl, Gem." He kissed her cheek then and brought her closer to him, his words were directed to him just as much as it was to her. They still had time to build a relationship with Lynn. Even if she already had a mate-she now had her parents as well. Aiden would make sure of that. And if she didnt want to move back to Europe...then he supposed they stay here. But he was for sure not going to leave his daughter now when he finally found her, and he knew Gem was thinking the same thing.
They would have to talk, but for now, he enjoyed the moment of being surrounded by his loved ones.
Shush and come here. Jareth could tell what Lynn was feeling through their bond and the hesitation she felt before walking into the room was enough for Jareth to want to rid himself of the things that held him down and go to his mate. It was a relief when he saw her coming closer despite her emotions and a small smile filled his face. That's my girl. He thought to himself and inched slightly towards the side so that Lynn had enough room to sit by him.
Her body warmth pressed against his ankles and Jareth eased a little up from the bed so that he could keep Lynn in his line of sight. His eyes ran over her profile, wanting to make sure that she wasnt hurt that much until they once again rested on her face. "I've missed you too." His fingers reached out for hers and that small smile widened.
Lucrezia tugged on Ventia's hip then and with one last look at the pair, Ventia turned away and they walked out of the door, entering the warm kitchen.
"Forgive me for not introducing her earlier but this is my partner, Lucrezia. Lucrezia you've already met Aiden, that's his mate next to him-Gem, I've told you of Jewel and Nate, and of course Thea and their babies-this one is Jasper I believe, but Hallie, Dimitri, and Lucian are in the living room with Harley, Avery, and Timothy as well as the owner of this house, Panos I believe."
Lucrezia smiled sweetly, "It's a pleasure to finally meet you all. Ventia loves to talk about most of you. She's a real blabber mouth despite what it seems. If you ever need any help, just look for me at Suck Them Dry. Despite it's name, it's a safe establishment. If you want me to leave now since this seems like a personal gathering, just say the word. I'll understand." Her fingers curled along Ventia's back, wishing Ventia had her hair down so that she could stroke the long silkly strands. Oh well, she'll wait.
Nathaniel grinned at Jasper and shrugged at Lucrezia, "Ask the man of the house if he's okay with it. It's great to finally meet you as well. I've heard about you." Nathaniel held out his hand and Lucrezia shook it once before letting go and glancing at the child.
"He's a bubbly one."
Nathaniel smirked, "He eats everything. They all do. Come, I'll show you the others and introduce you to Panos. Jewel darling, I'll be back." He kissed Jasper's wet cheeks and practically smeared it on Jewel as he kissed her forehead and smirked, knowing exactly what he done.
The three of them entered the living room and no surprise was it that Hallie was the first one to come running. Nathaniel grabbed her mid-step and hauled her up in the air, curling his arm around her tummy and then snuggling her close to his side. "This is my little angel-Hallie. Hallie, you know Aunty Ve right? This is her partner, Lucrezia."
Harley frowned at Ludin, "What does that mean? I'm not worth kidnapping." She pursed her lips, not that she'd like being kidnapped she thought. But to exclude her right away? It would be a amazing opportunity for a dazzling prince to come save her. Or better yet, a vicarious Viking. She glanced shyly up at Ludin before looking away at Thea, smiling just a little at her older sister before once again Ludin had her attention.
He didn't have to say anything for her to know she messed up. Harley bit her lower lip and then made a face that told him that she was sorry before slightly smiling. Knowing that he would forgive her as always.
"Pizza sounds good P." She pointedly made sure to use her nickname for his nickname of his real name before grinning. "I want pineapple Hawaiiian pizza! Or maybe a pasta bread bowl with lots of sauce. Yum."

Gem and Jewel shared quite a few facial expressions. For instance: the trademark scowl. There was no glimmer of hope or peace or mirth. With eyelids half-lowered, and the corners of her lips turned down, there seemed to be no forgiveness or anything remotely light-hearted. At first, she didn't say anything, but felt the warmth from Aiden's lips heat her cheek. Soon, that scowl started to look more like a pout. It was a rare sight to see, because she rarely ever pouted. To her, it was a sign of weakness (but for Aiden, it was a sign of adorableness).
Gem sighed, partly in irritation and mostly because she was being warmed up. "You always make good points," she mumbled, pressing the cheek he kissed onto his shoulder. "What would I do without you?"
Lynn smiled softly, her fingers immediately interlocking with his. But as they tightened their hold on his, her smile dropped. "Mom ... she and Anderson said that Travis got a hold of you. And that he wasn't wholly ... human. I don't understand how. The only person that wasn't human out of the whole group was me. Maybe it was because of my blood. But don't you have to bite someone for them to be like us?"
Lynn was clearly distraught; not only was Jareth in this bed because of her, even if Travis did it to him. Lynn never understood why Travis liked her. But she didn't think that he'd go berserk and try to kill Jareth. "I'm sorry." Even though she was, she scooted closer to him, from his ankles up to his hip. "I shouldn't have let them take my blood."
"They get it from me," Jewel said. She glanced at Heinz, who sat down across from her with a worn Rubik's cube in front of him, before turning back to Lucrezia and Ventia. Did she mind that Ventia had a lover? No. To each their own. But did she feel as if there was something else about Lucrezia that she didn't know about? Yes. Was it potentially dangerous? Definitely. But Jewel didn't say anything. Lucrezia wasn't threatening them. Shoot, she probably just reenforced the work she and Heinz did to make sure that Jareth didn't die. So she wasn't too concerned.
When she felt the wetness on her forehead, she mocked gasped in shock before raising her eyebrows. It was a look that said, "Two can play at this game." Of course, she let him go. She busied herself with cleaning the slobber off Jasper's face. The boy giggled before saying, "I love you." It made the mother smile, then her gaze went to Hallie briefly when she heard, "Hi, Aunty Ve!"
"How do you spell Lu-cre-zi-a?" Hallie continued, pronouncing the name slowly like her father taught her with really long words. Unlike her mother, she didn't get a feeling that Lu was remotely dangerous at all. She was just a really pretty lady. "I like it!"
Ludin sighed, then moved to sit beside Harley. Of course, not enough to warrant any attention. He just couldn't really stay away. Especially when she said she wasn't worth kidnapping. He definitely thought she was. "Meaning, if someone did decide to kidnap you - and you are very much so worth kidnapping. That's why your father and mother were searching for you at the mall when you were young - they wouldn't have just your parents to worry about, but your pack and mine. With all of them together, they would have a league of warriors upon them. That alone would give a sensible person nightmares."
He stretched his legs, then lifted one up to cross in a manly way: an ankle on a knee. He leaned back too, his hands resting behind his head. There was a chuckle at his nickname before fishing his phone out of his front pocket. "How about we order ten large pizzas for everyone? Hawaiian will be one of them, I promise."

Aiden's lips hid a smile as he watched his mate from the corner of his eye. Watched as she momentarily gave in with only a shift in her lips, as it went from a scowl to a pout. He planted the moment into his mind and his face slipped for a moment as his lips twisted upwards in a smile he couldn't contain. She was just too cute, this one.
"Well I would hope so, I've lived long enough." He twisted his head downwards so that he could press his lips against the crown of her head. "Hm," he hummed for a moment as if in thought, then chuckle low.
"You'd carry on as you always do. As a magnificent woman and maybe even find some lucky lad who wouldn't even know how precious you are. I'm the one who should be saying those words to you." Maybe his words were too private for people he just met, but there were some words that just had to be said aloud. Plus, Aiden didn't quite care what people thought, as long as what was his-was happy.
In the room, Jareth brushed his forefinger against Lynn's wrist and watched her speak. He didn't care about the confrontation with Travis earlier or how differently he had smelled or how'd he knew how to hurt him, Jareth truly didn't care. After all, he was so bloody happy to see Lynn. To see her after they were forced apart. To see her when she wasn't kept inside a institution that was pretty much a cage. To see her now free.
He knew it would be hard for her. Lynn wasn't...didn't know a lot of things besides from the things they've fed her. But it didn't matter. Because Jareth wasn't going anywhere. She was his priority. The pack, the band, and everything else, came second. He was going to be there for her, no matter what.
"There are ways. My godmother was a Healer and because of my defect, I've been in the hospital many times, so I know a few things that could be a possibility. You can genetically modify someone's DNA by adding the blood of a different being. Be it a shifter, vampire, ghoul, angel or demon or whatever. It's dangerous. Most of the time, the body rejects the new addition and that ends up in the person being dead or worst. Sometimes, it can work. Usually in these cases, it's only in the beginning that it works because sure the body has accepted the blood or whatever but it wouldn't be enough to change the individual completely. Unless of course, their continuously getting samples of that persons blood until their body can make it on their own." Jareth stopped, then smiled shyly, "sorry I was going off on a tangent. Travis...it probably worked for him."
Jareth smiled, "Dont be sorry Lynn, none of that was ever your fault. I'm not sorry. If I had to, I'll do it over and over again just to be with you like I am right now." He brushed his finger against her palm and cocked his head to the side, his silver eyes bright and his aura joyful.
Nathaniel wiggled his eyebrows at his darling doctor and carried on his way with escorting the pair, pausing briefly when Hallie jumped into action.
"Hello Hallie darling," Ventia let a smile slip from her face without meaning to at Hallie's presence and couldnt really stop the warm hand from brushing against Hallie's cheek in a greeting caress. A amused chuckle escaped her when Hallie turned her attention to Lue, and Ventia glanced at Luecrezia herself.
Luecrezia raised a eyebrow at the interesting creature and curled a finger around one of her locks. "Its spelled with a L U E C R E Z I A, put them together and you get Luecrezia, but you can just call me Aunty Lue, little one. Your name is quite pretty as well, miss Hallie." Luecrezia bent down, getting on eye level with the child, and taking in the child's brown orbs with the hidden yellow flecks. Whatever she saw, it made Lue smile and she stood up without touching the child and curled her arm around Ventia's waist.
"The owner?" Lue asked, her attention now elsewhere.
Harley tried not to let her glee noticeable when Ludin sat next to her, but even she couldnt hide the small grin that tried its best to take hold of her lips. She felt his warmth instantly and better yet, she could smell him all the more. Such a rich and inviting scent that promised silently to always protect what was his. Harley had gone up to him precisely for his scent-she knew instantly that if she went there-she would be safe. And although there were butterflies in her stomach with him being so near, she had never felt safer in her life.
Not even with her Daddy, and that in itself was saying something.
She turned her head to look at Ludin as he spoke, feeling her cheeks flush just a little at his words. She knew her family would search every inch and cranny for her, and of course her pack may as well-and Mommy's pack too, but Ludin's? But just his pack? "Would you search for me even if everyone else gave up?" Her voice was low and everything else was blurry besides from Ludin. His words. His warmth. His scent. His face.
She didnt know why, but she felt like his answer would be more important to her than he would understand. Like-she had to know. Had to see if...if he would. She practically knew the answer already but that tiny shard of doubt shadowed her heart and even thinking of him saying no, hurt worst than anything she'd encounter.
Him stretching his legs caught her attention, and she glanced away from his face to stare at his legs. He was so much bigger than her. So much older. She was reminded of that by staring at those long legs and instead of scaring her away like it should have, she couldnt stop herself from leaning against his shoulder, feeling just hints of his warmth pressing against her side. She closed her eyes, savoring the sound of his chuckle and how it vibrated into her, or how when he moved his hand to get his phone, how he pressed slightly more into her.
"Sounds like a game plan." Harley mumbled, her eyes still closed and her head still leaning against his shoulder. She didnt care at this moment, let him think what he wanted. Let her family think it was just a cute moment between family members, Harley knew what she was doing, and she would enjoy this piece of heaven.
