The sound of rustling paper being straightened and the sounds of minute body shuffling is all that filled the large room as the human tried to ready herself the best she could for what she had to do. Her heart was racing but it wasnt out of fear, like her associates but rather it was out of excitement. she'd always wanted to meet the supernatural creatures that only existed in fairy tales or science fiction. bUt she always had the feeling that they were very real and existed alongside humans.
It had taken her years to gather enough information on them and she had been blessed by the powers that be when she was contacted by a very important Lady. she referred to herself as Lady Ghost, not wanting her identity to be known. she apparently was the contact person for several of the very creatures that Jessi had been trying to find.
"This is so exciting!" she cried out with a huge smile unable to contain herself. One of the crew nearly jumped out of his skin.
"dAmn it Jessi, dont do that!!" he said and glared hard at her. though the glare didnt last long as he began to check her out. she had skin that resembeled warmest caramel and had a coke bottle figure. Her hair was a mass of curls that had his fingers itching to be buried within it. Her lips looked so soft and plump and had him yearning for a taste. Her hazel green eyes danced in merriment and took on a gleam that told him that she had caught him staring again.
He blushed and cleared his throat. "Why did you have to choose THIS as somethuing you want to do? Tese creatures could easily kill you, hell us. shouldnt there be some kind of protection set up or something?" He asked allowing his embarrassment to be overtaken by his worry for her.
"James, live a little man." she said and giggled. "Lady ghost said that there was nothing to worry about as long as we dont purposefully antagonize them or show any aggression towards them." sHe said and stood up to stretch. JAmes eyes immediately went to her body. sHe wore a forest green dress that hugged her breasts and her waist before falling just above her knees and had a split on both side that stopped mid thigh.
"They should be arriving very soon, are you guys ready?" sHe said with a very bright smile.
"do we have a damn choice?" someone muttered and she laughed at them. "fuck no you dont." tHere were several groans that could be heard around the room .

Eliora paced the halls, clenching and unclenching her fists. The stench of fear permeated the air and it called to her dark self as well as to her most primal instincts. "What am I doing here? This was a mistake." She muttered to herself. She didnt want to be there but she had no choice. Her creator wouldnt allow her to anything else until this was done. She sighed and fought the urge to leave. She still had to find her children, if what Anthony said was even true and she had any. she stopped and snarled. If he had been lying she was going to kill him and anyone who would dare try to intervene.
"Uhm, miss Fatelle?" Came a hesitant voice that brought her out of her thoughts. "What?" She growled and she could feel that darkness begin to stir. She forced herself to calm down and she cleared her throat. The scent of the man's fear wasnt helping.
"W..W..we're ready for you." he said and hurried away. she sighed and rubbed the back of her neck trying to ease the tension that was there. The sooner she did this the sooner she could leave. She followed the man down the hall, her pace picking up as her mind began to equate the retreat with a hunt. Her heart began to race as excitement filled her. Her fangs elongated as the promise of flesh and fresh blood teased her. He was right in front of her, all she had to was reach out and snatch him up.She licked her lips and was about to grab him when he entered a room that had a bright light that blinded her as soon as she entered.
Eliora snarled and covered her eyes. "Damn it Donnie, fix the lighting." Came an angry female's voice. Soon that female was standing in front of Eliora. "Are you alright Ms. Fatelle?" The woman asked. it took Eliora a full minute to regain her sense from the surprise of the light. Eliora turned to the woman and nodded. Her golden eyes had hints of red in them though the red was slowly disappearing. The woman seemed transfixed on Eiora's eyes and simply stared. It caused the hairs on Eliora's neck to stand on end and she growl low in warning.
It served to snap the woman out of it. "my apologies, that was rude of me." She said with a shakey voice though Eliora sensed no fear from her. She was strange. "If you would like to follow me I have a comfortable area for us to conduct our interview." Jessi said with a warm smile. Eliora nearly sighed. "How long is this going to take? I dont want to be here longer than I have to be." She asked in a tone that made Jessi flinch.
"It really depends on how fast we get through the questions."Jessi stated losing a bit of her excitement only to have it replaced with a bit of anxiety. Eliora did sigh this time, she felt bad. "My apologies I get a bit edgey when Im hungry." She said and there was a clang as equipment fell to the floor. Elletaf chuckled and spoke in a singsong voice. "Lets play with them. I want to roll in their blood and play with their entrails." Eliora growled low enough that the humans woudnt be able to hear her. "Ok fine then, we can eat the entrails. Happy?" Elletaf asked with a bite to her voice. Before Eliora could respond, the woman had interrupted her thoughts.
"Oh if youre hungry, we have plenty of food available." She said brightly and someone snickered while another groaned. "We have a buffet set up for our guests. You are more than welcome to grab a bite to eat." sHe said with a smile as she ignored the crew. Eliora looked at them and glared before following Jessi to the buffet and grabbed something to eat. ~ "Alright Ms. Fatelle, I have done a bit of research thanks to the info i gained from a reliable source and found some interesting things." Jessi replied as she and Eliora sat across from one another with their food. Eliora paused and raised a brow. "Why? Why are you doing any of this?" she asked.
Jessi paused a moment and looked uncertain. "I was looking for proof that your kind exists. To show the world that all of you are real." she said with fascination and Eliora growled softly as she put down her plate to cross her arms and legs. She gave Jessi a pointed look before speaking. "So your intent is to expose us to the world? Have you even thought of the implication that could have on so many species? You humans cant possibly comprehend the enormity of the world around you. You are all so stupidly blind. Do you know what humans do to things they cant comprehend or things they fear? You should, it happens even in your little world. They destroy it. so what do you think will happen if the information you gathered made it out to your world? We would be hunted and then there would be a war between your world and mine. Who do you think will win that war?" Eliora demanded and Jessi shifted a litte uncomfortably in her seat as Eliora's violet eyes bore into her.
Eliora took a deep breath and closed her eyes a moment trying to gain her composure. "Let us hurry and be done with this, already. I have things to do Ms. Vickers." She said in a sad and tired voice. Jessi was taken aback by Eliora's intensity. she was confused and unsure if she should continue. She understood Eliora's concern, truly she did. She just thought that supernatural beings were amazing and if other people could see how amazing they were then Eliora's fears could be put to rest right? Jessi sighed, she wasnt so naive to think that this wouldnt have some negative backlash on them all. She would give it thought before releasing it. for a moment longer she debated whether she should comment on what Eliora had just said or move on to her questions. By her body language, Jessi knew it would be best to start the interview.
"Alright then Ms. Fatelle, we will move right into the interview questions." She replied and picked up what looked like index card. She smiled at Eliora who wore a neutral expression. Jessi: "Ms. Fatelle, what species are you?" Eli: "Werewolf" Jessi: "Are there ethnic groups like there is with humans? " Eli: "I suppose so." Jessi: "What would be your ethnic group?" Eli: "Forsaken" Jessi: "What is that?" Eli: "A group of werewolves"
That comment brought Jessi up short and she was at a loss for words. She heard snickers and felt her face burn with embarrassment. sHe cleared her throat and continued. it was clear that Eliora wasnt going to elaborate on it though she was burning with curiosity to know.
Jessi: "Right. Were you turned? Is that why you're a Forsaken?" Eliora gave her a funny look that had Jessi feeling sheepish. "Forsaken are born not turned." She said with a small bite to her tone. Eliora knew that she was being rude and she wasnt trying to be but she was feeling anxious and was ready to go. It was not easy forcing herself to stay still. Jessi: "Do you age like humans?" Eliora: "No, its much much slower. Typically the aging depends on the "ethnic group" you belong to. so some age differently than others but we all age slower than humans." Jessi smiled and gained some of her excitement back when Eliora answered her question without prompting. She just hoped Eliora will continue to be forthcoming with the information. Jessi: "There's a whole society of your kind out there, along with others, how are you all able to hide as well as live alongside humans for so many years?" Eli: "Easy by having our own communities and societies, and keeping who we are a secret from humans. We have a system in place to deliberately keep you in the dark about us, though you merely need to look and pay attention and you will find that your closest friend could very well be a creature of myth."
Jessi wasnt quite sure what to make of that answer so she licked her lips and continued on. "Thats very interesting. About two years ago there was a huge gang war, or at leat thats what the news called it, but there were things there that didnt seem like it fit the story that they were feeding to public. My team and I had gone out there when we saw the billowing pillars of smoke and large fires trying to reach for the very skies. when we got there, there was carnage everywhere. Sure there were bullet casings and that sort of thing but what grabbed my attention was the signs of animal fighting. There were claw marks along the tree trunks and even in some of the buildings that were there. The height and nature of these markings were not normal animal markings, theres no way possible." She said sitting up straighter and leaning forward a bit as excitement eminated from her. Eliora bared her fangs and she sat back yet still smiled.
Eli: "So. Whats your point? What are you trying to ask?" Jessi: "Do you know what happened? If so could you tell me?"
Eliora looked at her for a long contemplative moment. She didnt want to divulge in anything from that night. it had been the worse night of her life. She had died and lost her children, or so she was told. She didnt know what to believe. She frowned and looked at Jessi. "I honestly couldnt tell you. I have no recollection of such an event." She said honestly. Jessi could see a shadow of pain in Eliora's eye and moved on to the next question.
Jessi: "OK. Do you have a family? Like say a husband or children, or both?"
Eli cringed as if she was in physical pain. She had Darian. Thinking of him caused such unbearable agony that brought her to tears. Jessi was completely taken off guard by Eliora's reaction. She hastily moved to offer Eliora some tissues. Jessi felt horrid. If she'd known she would receive this type of reaction, she would have steered clear of it. She mentally cursed Lady Ghost for the vague and general info she gave about the woman.
"Uhm,Ms. Fatelle? You don't haver to answer that." Jessi said hesitantly feeling like crap. Eliora growled as she wiped her face before taking a deep breath. She will not be ruled by her demons. Elletaf scoffed.
Eli: "I'm fine. I had a mate.He was my world. He came to me as a bloody mess. He'd been attacked by a vampire ,I think. He was a charmer. Not matter how resistant I was to treating him,I was drawn to him. He made me smile when I tried to keep a scowl. he was a rogue and I made it a point to steer clear of rogues because....
Eliora stopped herself before she gave too much information about herself to this woman who wanted to expose them. sHe still didnt understand why she had to sit through this. "because of personal reasons." Eliora finished. "dEspite my dislike for rogues, i couldnt let him die on my hospital floor it was brand new." she reminisced with a small smile. "I ended up haveing to do a small surgical procedure on him and a blood transfusion. He was truly in bad shape but that didnt keep him from cleaning the blood from my new floors." sHe said with a smile as she remembered the first time she and Darian had met and her initial reaction and attitude towards him. "THat clown had actually crossed pack boarders with life threatening wounds, just so that i could treat him." she said shaking her head at his folly. Jessi: "You must be a big shot in your community?" Eliora smiled and shook her head. "i was the Head healer of my pack and a renown healer in some parts, though i took great pains to keep my presence and location from the general public, so fo rhim to even be able to find me , told me that he had been in search of me and went to great pains to get that information." eliora said almost in thought as her smile slowly faded. 'Why? Why had he sought her out? How had he even found her information?' Jessi: "Ah, youre a very secretive woman ms Fatelle." Eli: "Secrets keep you alive despite the pain they sometimes cause." Jessi: "Tell me about your pack." Eli: "No."
Jessi was taken aback and looked at Eliora in stark surprise. tHere was no hesitation in her answer. "why'd you leave?" Eli: "To find my son. He'd been taken." Jessi: "BY who?" Eli: "A vampire." Jessi: "did you ever get him back?" Eli: "No." Jessi: "Why not?" Eli: "Because of a series of unfortunate events." Jessi: "CAn you tell me more about these unfortunate events?" Eli: "I was held captive, a "clan" war broke out, i died and never had a chance to find him." Eliora's reply was very matter of fact but still had the power to render Jessi momentarily speechless.
Jessi: "You died? How-" Eli: "i refuse to explain" Jessi looked so disappointed. How could she not? The woman before her should be dead and Jessi wanted to know more about it. Eli: "Next question." Jessi hesitated before nodding."The "clan" war you mentioned, would that be the "gang" war that was reported on the news?" Eli: "i dont know." Jessi wanted to steer the conversation to something that was a bit lighter seeing as how eliora wasnt going to be too forthcoming with the answers she truly sought.
Jessi: "Alright. Throughout your life what sort of careers have you held?" Eli: "Throughout my life I have always been in the medical field. i was a feild medic in the military. I was a veteranarian. i worked as a nurse in human hospitals and I always held the position as Head healer or simply healer in my packs." Jessi: HOw many packs have you been in? Eli: "four total." Jessi: "HOw come?" Eli: "a series of unfortunate events ad circumstances." Jessi: oH ok. why have you chosen the medical field as a career choice?" Eli: " keeping others as healthy as possible is enjoyable for me. it makes me feel needed and after a time it is just something i am good at so why not use it to benefit others? " Jessi: "Are you currently in a pack or hold that position?" Eli: "no" Jessi: "Why not?" Eli: "Because of a series of unfortunate events and circumstances." Jessi almost chuckled at the frustration that answer caused to surface. she was beginning to think that these "series of unfortunate events and circumstances" were connected and she made a note to dig further and find out exactly how they were connected. Jessi: "do you like to cook?" Eli: "I do. Aside from medicine, cooking is another passion of mine." Jessi: "HOw often do you shift? IS it controled by the moon or can you shift at will?" Eliora thought about that for a moment. she couldnt speak on anyone other than herself and her people. sHe shrugged and answered. "I, along with those of my kind, not the entirety of the werewolf species but my people, are able to shift at will. The phase of the moon you are born under is the phase of the moon where control over our shifts arent as controlled, especially in the young." Jessi: "tHat is very interesting. CAn you tell me anything else about your culture?" Eli: "its dying out. MIne is a dying breed. Due to a series of unfortunate events and circumstances, our numbers are few and you would be hard pressed to find one such as myself. We were once a thriving people who worshipped our dieties and carried out our duties and lived our lives according to our spirituality. BUt as with many things, we were targeted until near extinction. MAny held as slaves force to do unthinkable things and stripped of everything that made us who we are. Not many were lucky enough to escape this fate, my self and my parents included but we were among the very few who were able to escape it. Though our captors eventually caught up to us. tHey killed my family ...."
Eliora stopped as she realized her mind was going back to her earliers days and that was not something she wanted to share with this woman. sHe held up her hand to silence any words that jessi would have said in response. "Anyway, as I said mine is a dying breed." she said and waved the woman on for the next question.
Jessi was so intrigued by Eliora and wanted to know everything about her. tHe fact that she wasnt very forth coming with information didnt deterr her. "Ok, just two more questions and i will let you go." Eliora nodded and waite for the two questions. Jessi: "why does your eyes turn colors like they did earlier?" Eliora actually smiled and her eyes danced. "That too is closely tied to my lineage. when i was born, my eyes were naturally a warm milk brown. When i had my first shift, they turned a pale soft blue with golden flecks. The gold is a color that came from my father and the blue were the result of me merging with my guardian." Eliora gave a soft chuckle knowing the woman was dying to know more but only had one question left to ask, so she continued. "My eyes turn red when bloodlust is upon me. the amount of red determines the level of my bloodlust. whenever my eyes turn violet, I am not myself. Due to certain circumstances, those are the eyes of my shadow self who is bent on consuming me given the slightest chance. " she said softly and looked at her hands.
Jessi was brimming with curiosity. How could what she was saying be true? But didnt she , herself witness the changing in her eye color? It was so interesting and had her gitty.
"tHat is truly interesting and i wish i could delve deeper to find out more. But as promised, i have but one more question. may i see your shifts? LAdy ghost had informed me that you had 5."
Eliora looked at her and then sized up the room. she shrugged and stood to her feet. "i can only show you four of the five. ONe of my shifts will kill everyone in the room." sHe said before she began to take her clothes off. For a moment Jessi was touched by fear before it was overcome by excitement. tHe others in the room were as enthusiastic as she was but an odd fascination kept them planted in place, Not to mention a beautiful woman striping in front of them.
Smiling, eliora shifted to he Dalu form. standing tall with an angular face slightly more muscular and hairier. her hands had turned to claws and her fangs were elongated and her ears were pointed. Jessi looked at her in awe and stood to her feet as well. "Stay there." eliora said with a warning growl.
Jessi nodded her head and grinned as she watched Eliora shift into her Urshul form. There in her place stood a towering canadian timber wolf with a pelt as white as snow that took up quite a bit of space. Several of her guys let out yelps and curses. Jessi found herself moving forward to touch her and Eliora growled at her. With a huff, she shifted to her last form ,her Urhan form, and sat in place and watched Jessi who was looking at her in awe, her hands itching to bury themselves in her pelt. "may i?" sHe asked though it almost sound like a plea.
Eliora sighed and nodded. jessi approached hesitantly and sank her hand inEliora's fur. It was as soft as it looked. "YOure so beautiful." sHe said softly. after a moment eliora grew tired of being there and growled softly. jessi chuckled softly and nodded. "Right. THank you for coming today. I really do appreciate it. TAke care, ms Fatelle." she said and moved out of eliora's way as she grabbed her clothes in her mouth and walked away without bothering to look back.

Jessi sat at her desk looking over the video of her interview with Eliora and it had her rethinking everything. She knew that her intentions were good and she would never do anything to purposefully hurt these people. She truly felt that if people knew about them that they would see that they were just like they were, with some differences of course, and would want to know more about them. She took Eliora’s words to heart about people destroying what they feared and didnt know, but that was even more reason for them to be known wasnt it? She sighed and paused the video. The image that was frozen on the screen was of her and Eliora in her wolf form with her hand buried in her pelt. Jessi looked at her hand and she could feel the soft fur on her hand. A small smile played on her lips. The shrill ringing of her phone made her jump as she was startled by the sudden noise. Giving an irritated sigh, she answered her phone. “Hello?” She called answered. When she heard feminine laughter, she grimaced. “Hello Lady Ghost.” “Hello Jessi. How did you like the interview with Eli?” She asked.Jessi gave a growl that was a good imitation of the real thing and it caused Lady to chuckle. “Why didnt you tell me about her family? She seemed so torn up about them even though she tried to hide it.” Jessi said angrily. “If i had known that was a sensitive topic, i never would have brought it up.” “Well i cant hold your hand through these interviews. Besides you are speaking with me so that means she didnt kill you for asking about her family. If you were able to get any information about them then you should count yourself lucky.” Lady Ghost said with a chuckle. “But what if i hadnt been so lucky?” Jessi asked angrily. This woman was playing not only with her life but with the lives of her employees and co workers. “She could have went on a rampage and killed us all!” Jessi exclaimed and was met by curious stares. She made a noise of irritation and slammed her office door closed. Lady Ghost was silent a moment and then sighed. “So you do see the potential dangers.” She said and Jessi looked lost.
“What do you mean?” Jessi asked. “These are creatures that pose a very real danger should they choose to. You cant just put them in the lime light without acknowledging the fact that they are in fact dangerous creatures. How does that make you any different from those who focus only on their bad aspects?” Lady asked.
“I-” Jessi started but Lady Ghost continued speaking. “There needs to be a balance. I understand you fancy these creatures and only want to see the good but that is bad. They are just like you and all of the other humans. Just like you cant win an argument without acknowledging the points and facts made by your opponent, use that knowledge to strengthen your own argument, dont just ignore it. Just as humans can be good and bad, so to can those other beings.” Lady Ghost said and paused for a moment. Jessi frowned as she listened to her words and wondered, for the umpteenth time since meeting Eliora if she was in fact doing the right thing. “Also, please refrain from treating them like some animal at a zoo or something. Thats a quick way to be killed.” Jessi flinched at the words. She hadnt done that to Eliora, did she? Jessi sighed, unsure how to respond but luckily she didnt have to. “So are you guys ready for your next guest?” Lady Ghost asked with slight amusement and for a second Jessi wanted to say no. “Yes, who is it?” “Its a guy named Casey.” She said purposefully excluding his last name. “Uhm, Casey what?” Jessi asked taking notice. “He’d kill you if you knew so its best that you dont.” Lady Ghost said matter of factly. That definitely gave her pause and for the first time made her a little scared but it couldnt stop her curiosity. “Really, how come?” She asked. “Because of a series of unfortunate events and circumstances.” She said repeating Eliora’s words in amusement. It irritated the Hell out of Jessi but then she paused. It felt like she was being mocked by an inside joke not to mention the feeling that Lady Ghost knew exactly how the interview went, word for word. Meaning she set it up and was playing with them or she was omniscient. She didnt want to dwell on that too much at the moment so she let it pass. “Im really starting to hate that phrase.” Jessi muttered which only served to make Lady Ghost laugh. “So what can you tell me about this guy Casey?” “He is a bit of a wild wolf shifter. He has his own pack of real wolves that he runs with. He’s autistic and hates being touched by anyone except those in his inner circle, which currently consists of no one. He is a rogue had a mate though she was a bitch,no pun intended. He is a unique case because he is half human. He has had a bit of a rough time, so tread careful when speaking with him. Ask him what ever you want just dont ask about his name and family and you should be fine. He always travel with a white wolf, dont ever mess with that wolf or you’ll pay dearly for it.” Lady said that last part in such a way that caused the hairs on the back of Jessi’s neck to stand on end. “How come?” Jessi asked “Ask him, not sure if he’ll answer that though but you might get lucky.” Lady Ghost said flippantly. Jessi rolled her eyes and huffed. “Whats the point in interviewing this guy? He sounds like a waste of time if i cant get any real answers out of him.” “Ah ah, you asked for me to give you information and guests. That is what I am doing. “I will email you his information. How well your interview goes is up to you though i suggest that you mind yourself in Casey’s presence. He has a keen eye for body language and sensitive to the emotions of others and will react accordingly.” Lady Ghost warned and Jessi bit her tongue. This woman was so damn frustrating. “Oh also keep an eye out for Kymani, he’s a disrespectful bastard but is very protective.” She said with a chuckle and before Jessi could ask who Kymani was the line went dead and she was gone. Jessi screamed and threw the hole puncher that was sitting on her desk against the wall. “Yo,Jessi what the hell man?” James said as he came into the office. “Get the hell out!” She said in pure irritation and frustration, though soon after she felt bad for taking it out on him when she saw the brief expression on his face before he masked it and slammed the door closed as he left. Jessi sighed and plopped down in her chair. “Why…..?” She asked in a pitiful voice. She dropped her head on her desk and moaned before she began to get to work setting things up for her interview with Casey.

“Why do i have to do this?” Kymani grumbled as he and Casey walked into the building. Casey was currently inhabiting the body of Tu’tanka while his mockingbird companion rode on his head. The feisty little bird had taken a liking to Casey and could always tell what body Casey was in,the same could be said for Tu’tanka. Casey and Kymani had tested it several times.
“Because Lady Ghost asked us to.” Casey replied along their shared mental link. “Damn woman.”Kymani growled and the bird fluffed its feathers at him causing Casey to chuckle.”Damn bird had better watch it or i’ll have him as a snack.” Kymani growled again and the bird flew at him in a fury of wing beatings, pecks and scratches. It was quite funny watching the mighty Kymani try to fend off an attack from a small mockingbird.
“He likes you Kymani.” Casey teased and kept walking.
“Sure he does.”Kymani responded with disdain and watched as the bird left him alone and flew back over to Casey and sat on his head once more.
“Though i'm a little worried about the pack. Should we have left them alone for this long?” Casey asked with a small whine. “After all, we have their Alpha. What if that river pack tries to take over our territory again while we’re gone?”
“Stop fretting like a woman. They will be fine. Our pack has very strong warriors and the beta is still there. Remember the pack grew since the last time those wolves decided to cross into our territory. I doubt that they will try that again so soon.” Kymani growled and rolled his eyes when he saw the bird fluffing himself up.
“Besides, i’m more worried about you, kid. Its been quite sometime since we last stepped foot out of our little piece of territory. Are you really ok with being so close to other people?” Kymani asked as he looked down at him. Casey lowered his head in thought as they walked.
“I dont want to be here if that is what you are asking. It’s taking everything that i have to stay in this body and walk into this place without hurting someone. I dont want to be around anyone except my pack. We have done well enough on our own and dont need anybody.” He said. There was such a blend of emotion in that last sentence that Kymani paused and watched Casey walk. It broke his heart to see the kid like this but he knew and understood and knew first hand where the kid was coming from and as such he would support him no matter what.
They turned a corner and nearly ran into a few people who were blocking the hall. Casey snarled, not wanting to be touched and Kymani cursed though he stepped between Casey and the people they had run into. “Get the fuck out of the way!” They gave surprised yelps and one of the guys started to open his mouth though one look at a snarling Casey and backed off.
“Calm down,Kid.” Kymani said and Casey calmed down just a tad though he continued to growl. Kymani wondered where the bird went to until he heard a woman screaming and saw the bird attacking her. “Come on Roscoe, back off.’ The mockingbird pecked her once more before flying back to Casey.
“Someone call security.” A man called out angrily. “This is not a damned zoo nor is it a circus. I want them gone.” When the man turned back around,Kymani was in his face.
“Ya know, that’s very rude. We came all this way from our home just to come here and this is the thanks we get? Hey pup, want to kill a few before we head home? I say that's fair penance for wasting our fucking time.” Casey snarl and bared his teeth before snapping at the person closest to him, ready to rip them apart at the slightest sign from Kymani. Roscoe flew high above their heads and circled around them also waiting for the green light from Kymani. ~*~
Jessi was a lot more nervous about Casey than she had been with Eliora. She tried to tell herself that everything would be fine and that she would feel foolish for being so nervous. She was sure that Casey wasnt as bad as Lady Ghost had made him out to be. She’d popped a grape in her mouth and was about to sit in the interview chair when she heard the commotion out in the hall. She saw people running out to see what was going on and she figured she may as well do the same.
She heard the snarling amongst the gasping and murmurs. She hurriedly pushed her way through the gathering crowd and stood dumbfounded when she saw a tall tanned man with broad shoulders, a beard, and long brown hair. He had a strong jaw and dangerous hazel eyes. Everything about him screamed wild and dangerous, even with him dressed on jeans and a tank with a pair of tennis shoes tossed over his shoulder. But what realy caught her eye was the menacing white wolf that was at his side. He was big and beautiful and looked ready to tear someone limb from limb at the slightest movement.
It tooke her a full minute to realize that this was her guest. This was Casey. Once the realization hit her, she nearly panicked. What if they attacked? It wouldnt bode well for any of them. “By any chance would you happen to be Casey?” She asked bringing all focus on herself. To her surprise, the white wolf reacted to her words as if she had been speaking to him. She stared at the wolf for a moment taking in its beauty and loving the intelligence in his eyes. She hadnt realized she was staring into its eyes or that she had even moved until the wolf snarled at her and snapped at her, fur bristling as it took a few steps towards her.
“Who’s asking?” Kymani asked and stood in front of Casey, breaking the eye contact that was made between the two.
“Im Jessi. The one who will be doing your interview. Lady Ghost said that you were coming.May i ask whats going on here?” She asked trying to defuse the situation as best she could.
“Your people need more training on customer service because they were, or may still, get royally fucked up.” Kymani said with a slight growl and crossed his arms over his chest. Their body was obviously no longer that of a gangly boy but of a full grown man and Kymani could tell that the woman was taking notice.
“I apologize for any disrespect that they have shown, but I can assure you that we dont tolerate it here.” She said trying to keep Kymani calm, though her tone of voice was rubbing him the wrong way.
“Look woman, dont try to pacify me. I’m not one of these fucking idiots that you have wrapped around your fingers.” He growled in warning and she held her hands up in surrender. At the sight, he sighed and held his hand in front of Casey who’d moved from behind him and was moving towards the woman. Casey growled, though he sat down beside Kymani glaring at them all. Soon Roscoe flew down chirping angrily as he sat on Casey’s head.
“Your scrubs here thought it was ok to basically tell me to fuck off. Now me and my pal here traveled a good ways to get to this place. So you can understand the reason we reacted in such a manner. We dont go anywhere we are not welcomed. We dont have time for that shit. We come here at the behest of Lady Ghost nothing more.So as of right now if you want this interview still,it’d better be damn short because we didnt want to be here in the first place.” Kymani said allowing his displeasure to be heard clearly in his voice as he stared down at her.
Jessi took an involuntary step back even though he hadnt moved towards her. She glanced around and saw all of the terrified faces of her staff and knew that they could clearly see just how close to death that they actually were. She wasnt sure if that was a good thing or bad thing, though giving the situation and why they were here she’d imagine it was a bad thing. Jessi gave Kymani a small smile and waved them into the interview room. “Come right this way Casey and we can get started. I will make this as quick as possible.” She said trying to bring the drama in the hall to an end. Kymani gave her a droll look as he checked her out. She was kinda hot. He gave her a lopsided grin. “That’s mighty decent of you.” He said and looked down at Casey. “Lets go, Kid.” He said and started to walk in the direction that she was directing them in. Casey followed growling the whole time.
Jessi turned to the other people who were breaking their necks trying to see what happens next and rolled her eyes. “The show is over folks, get back to work. You’re still on the clock.” She said and when they didnt immediately move, she gave her own little growl of irritation. “Get back to work! Damn!” With that, they dispersed to go back to work leaving Jessi to deal with the obnoxious man that stood just behind her.
Kymani was looking over her head glaring at the other workers, baring his teeth in a silent snarl at them until they left. When Jessi turned around she ran right into a wall of muscle. “Umph!” She said and Kymani grabbed her so that she wouldnt fall, though he held her too close. She was way too aware of the contours of his body. She blushed and nervously brushed her hair behind her ear. “Uhm you can let me go now.” She said looking him in the face defiantly and started to push him away. Kymani chuckled and released her.
“As you wish.” He said and gave her a slight bow of his head and swept his hand out for her. “Shall we get this over with?”He asked raising a brow and giving her a charming smile. Jessi stiffened trying to hide her reaction to him. This was the guy that Lady Ghost had spoken of? This guy was the very predator that he shifted into. She had no clue what to really make of Casey and was even more intrigued to get to know him more
“Uhm,yea.” She said in a distracted tone. She started to walk to the studio where the interview was being held and she spotted a very annoyed wolf. For some reason it brought a thought to mind. “Oh, I almost forgot. Where is Kymani?” She asked and Kymani simply laughed at her as he walked past her and into the studio with an angry Casey nipping at him. Jessi was confused about that but very curious about it too.
“Alrighty then.” She said and followed them inside. Kymani had grabbed some fruit from the table and was currently sitting in her chair. She sighed and moved forward taking the guest seat. Once she was seated, she gave Casey a very friendly smile and motioned for the crew to start rolling.
“Alright, lets get started shall we?” She said with a bright smile. Kymani got comfortable and nodded.
“Let me start by saying thank you for doing this,Casey.” Jessi said. Casey tilted his head at her and looked up at Roscoe who was sitting on his head looking down at him, before turning their attention back to Jessi.Kymani simply laughed.
Jessi was taken aback by his reaction and looked so lost. “What’s so funny?” She asked.
“Im not Casey.” Kymani said simply and Jessi sat their for a moment and the way her face went from confused to surprised to embarrassment to anger was pretty funny.
“So this whole time you sat there letting me call you someone you weren’t?” She said and glared at him. “You’re an ass.” she said with a deep frown. When Casey growled low she cleared her throat and continued. “Alright, if you are not Casey the who are you?”
“Im Kymani.” He said with a grin and watched as she fumed though another growl from Casey had her taking a deep breath and calming down.
“Its a pleasure to meet you Kymani. If you dont mind me asking, where is Casey?” She asked remembering all of the warnings that Lady Ghost had given to her about them.Kymani chuckled and lazily pointed to the wolf. Jessi was further confused. “I dont understand?” She said clearly confused.
“Do you know what a warg is? Well thats Casey and he is currently in the wolfs body.” Kymani said matter of factly. Jessi had no idea what a warg was but you had better believe that she would surely find out.
“How am i supposed to speak with Casey if he is a wolf?” She muttered under her breath but Kymani heard her.
“Oh what? You dont want to talk to me? You just hurt my feelings.” He said sarcastically.
“I can speak with you then speak with Casey after, if you guys are ok with doing that?” She asked. Kymani shrugged and Casey huffed.
“So Kymani, what are you?” She asked after making a note on her notepad.
“Im hungry for your sweet flesh.” He said and gave her a wink. She blushed so profusely that you’d think she would have actually turned into a tomato.
“That uhm...is ah...uhm..” She stammered trying to get her thoughts together but not knowing how to respond to his comment. James cleared his throat to get her attention and to remind her that thy were still rolling. He was definitely not happy that a shifter was openly flirting with his boss and the woman he was madly in love with.
“It’s ok take your time.” Kymani said and chuckled while Casey rolled his eyes.
“Right,” She said and cleared her throat. “Kymani-”
“Yes?” He asked innocently.
Are you a born shifter or were you turned?” She blurted out.
Chuckling, he answered. “I am a born shifter and so is the Kid, though he’s half human.”
“Oh? Thats interesting.” She said and made a note. “So which of his parents was the shifter?” She asked innocently.
What happened next happened so quick that Jessi almost didnt catch it. Casey jumped to his feet snarling as he lunged for her, but Kymani grabbed him and pinned him to the floor. The moment he hit the floor he immediately calmed down and Kymani was sitting beside the wolf absently stroking his fur as he laid his head on his paws.
Jessi had a “what the fuck” look on her face as her heartr raced at the sudden movement. In that moment Lady Ghost’s warning came to mind. ‘Dont talk about his family.’ Jessi mentally kicked herself for her stupidity. She took a deep calming breath and continued on.
“I apologize if i spoke on something i shouldnt have.” She said looking at them , though was sure not to look the wolf in the eyes realizing she made that mistake earlier. As she thought about how to continue, she realized that Casey was a lot more difficult than Eliora had been. She sighed and made sure to keep her body relaxed and to keep smiling.
“Do you guys belong to any packs?”
“Nah, a pack right now isnt something we want to deal with. Dont ask why, just know that we have our reasons.” Kymani said in a bored yet stern tone of voice. Jessi nodded her head and continued on.
“Is it hard not being in a pack? Not being in a pack makes you a rogue, right? Tell me a little about your life as a rogue.” She said getting comfortable in her seat.
Kymani shrugged. “ Not much to tell. We have a pack just not the traditional shifter pack. We work hard to keep our little piece of home sae for us and our wolves. Its hard being out on your own without a good support, but we manage just fine.” Kymani answered and relaxed in his spot on the floor.
“Who’s the little bird?” She asked. Lady Gohst hadnt said anything about a bird which made Jessi wonder if the woman actually knew about the bird or if she simply didnt tell her about it.
“Oh thats Roscoe, he likes no one except the Kid. So dont feel bad if he dont like you.” Kymani said with a shug. Roscoe had been sitting on the arm of the chair that Kymani had vacated when he tackled Casey on the floor. He ruffled his feathers and flew over to Jessi who held her hand out to him.
“Hello Roscoe, you’re very handsome.” She said and he preened before allowing her to pet him. She liked the little bird but it was clear that Kymani wasnt and the feeling was mutual between the two. Jessi giggled when Kymani cursed the bird, calling him a dirty fowl and a few other things. She found the interaction between them was comical..
“What are somethings that you guys like to do?” She asked.
“I like fighting and being free. I like to eat and take long walks on the beach and watch the sunset.” Kymani said trying to be charming.
“I just bet you do, though i dont really you as the mushy cliche romantic type.” She said and chuckled. Roscoe flew to her shoulder and rubbed his head against her face. “:Aw, i like you too buddy.”
“You’re breaking my heart woman.”” Kymani said and sprawled out all over Casey who growled and tried to bite him. Jessi couldnt help but laugh as she watched them. It was a nice contrast to the dominating and fierce duo that saw in the hall.
“You two seem really close.” She said with a smile and completely ignoring Kymani’s comment.
“You wouldnt believe how close.” Kymani said using an ironic tone of voice. “But to answer your question, the kid likes to play music, mostly the piano though. He enjoys reading, and running through the forest, exploring and traveling. He also likes to work out, as you can see from this sexy body you keep trying to ignore.” There was no hiding the deep blush that claimed her face as she glared at Kymani. He simply tapped his nose and grinned. Jessi was mortified.
“Is it possible to speak with Casey?” She asked no longer wanting to speak with Kymani. Kymani’s entire demeanor changed and Casey looked at him with a tilt of his head.
“Yes it is possible. But i warn you, dont upset him. The kid has been hurt enough that he doesnt need you adding to it.” He said pinning her with a cold gaze. “He doesnt want to be her because of his interactions with people. When you speak with him, pay close attention to his body language and be very aware of your own. When you speak with Casey keep a close eye on the wolf. His name is Tu’tanka. He will be your indicator of how casey is feeling. Dont touch Tu’tanka nor Casey and what ever you do, dont look him in the eyes.” Kymani said being sure that she knew the seriousness of talking to him.
Jessi nodded her head as she wrote down what Kymani had been telling her. Some if it was repeats of what Lady ghost had said and so she was sure to put a star next to those.
“Wait, what happens to you when i speak with Casey?” She asked worriedly.
“I’ll be here. I’ll just be more in the background than the forefront.” He said simply and pointed to his chest then his temple. Before she could ask him anything else, Casey had returned to his body and was looking in her direction. His body language less bold and confident. It was more weary and apprehensive. She glanced at his eyes briefly before looking away. Where they had been sparkling with fun and mischief, they now held a deep sadness to them.
“Helo Casey.” she said with a soft smile. She could believe the sudden difference in him.
“Hello Jessi.” He said softly as Tutanka looked around and laid his head on Casey’s lap. Casey was trying to be nice since she had asked to speak with him though anxious energy was slowly filling him.
“I know you dont want to be here so i will make this as quick as possible. Okay?” She asked him in a soft voice as she smiled at him. He nodded and waited.
“Whats it like to be able to warg?” she asked him and was surprised to see the small smile on his lips.
“Its amazing. Not only do i get to form connections with my animal kin, i get to see the world through their eyes. Its really awesome. Have you ever wondered how it would feel to fly as the birds do? I have and now i finally know. It is the most liberating thing you can imagine. I owe it all to Rosco. He allowed me a freedom that most people only dream of. To be able to literally spread your wings and fly to wherever you want is incredible. To be able to soar high amongst the clouds as the wind caress your feathers is bliss.” He said warming up to the topic. “Did you know that the bird has the most freedom in the world?”
Jessi smiled as she listened to him speak. “No i didnt know that. Thats pretty interesting.” She said and casey nodded.
“If you dont mind me asking, how did you and Tutanka end up together?” she asked. Casey was still and quiet for a moment before he sighed.
“He was a gift. I rescued him and helped him live. He was really tiny too. Too tiny to go back into the wild so he was given to me and we practically grew up together. He is my brother.”Casey said a bit sheepishly.
“That is amazing. Do you have a strong conncetion to your wolf pack as you do with Tu’tanka?” Jessi asked. Casey became guarded and frowned.
“How do you know about them?” He demanded, causing Jessi to look at him in surprise.
“Lady Ghost informed that you had a wild wolf pack.” She said a bit hesitantly.
Casey leaned back against the chair he sat in front of and sighed. “My apologies.”
“Its okay” Jessi reassured him. “What type of books do you like to read?”
“He thought about it for a moment then smiled. “Paranormal.”
An answering smile touch her lips as she continued. “Oh? Why do you like paranormal?”
“I enjoy seeing how our world is perceived by different people. It always amuses me how they see us. Some of the information is correct, though so its kinda hit and miss.” Casey said with a fond smile.
Jessi was enjoying her talk with Casey, it was more relaxed and refreshing then it was with Kymani. She had thought that this was going to be a very difficult interview because of how things initially started but thankfully it wasnt. She moved just a little to get more relaxed and comfortable. She saw Casey completely stiffen before he relaxed again. She wondered what caused him to be that way.
“Casey, i was told never to look you in the eyes and not to ever touch Tu’tanka. Can you tell me a little bit about that?” She asked genuinely curious. Casey was silent for a long moment as he looked down at Tu’tanka, his hair covering half of his face. He debated on what he should tell her.
“When someone looks into my eyes, it causes extreme anxiety. That anxiety turns into anger that snowballs quickly into rage. Its a rage that i have a hard time controlling myself. Kymani is usually the one who’s able to keep things under control, though he cant be relied upon too heavily. He sometimes allows my rage to come through. He says that its unhealthy to hold in that amount of anger.” He said matter of factly.
Kymani growled then huffed at Casey.
“Touching me ignites pure anger. It comes quick and hard. Without much thought, my body automatically reacts. For the longest time, not even those closest to me could touch me without being attacked. It caused me to be very isolated from others.” He said softly as he was taken back to his younger days when he tried to make friends but no one wanted to be fucked up with him. Jessi remained silent as she listened to what he was saying. He seemed like a good guy, it sucks that it’d been so rough for him. She felt her heart aching for him. But she tried to keep a lid on it, wanting him to continue talking freely to her.
“There was a woman that saved me. No matter how angry i became, she was always there. She would clutch me in her arms and hold me tight despite all of the attacking i was doing. She never let me go. She had told me that no matter what she would always be there for me. No matter what happened, she would never let me go. In the midst of all of my thrashing and rage, she held on and held me close to her heart. She helped me to initially learn some sort of control over myself. I didnt like hurting her.” He said and tears began to fall down his face as he spoke. “There was another woman who i let close to me. I was able to accept her touch, i had thought it helped me but in truth her touch was like poison, killing me slowly. I couldnt see it and she wouldnt admit it. I nearly destroyed myself because of it…”Casey trailed off but the pain in his words were unmistakable.
Jessi found herself silently crying as Casey spoke. More than anything she wanted to wrap him in her arms, but she knew that any attempt to do so would most likely get her killled. “You dont have to tell me anymore Casey if you dont want to.” She offered.
Casey gave her a soft smile. “No, it’s fine. If i stop talking now,its very likely that i wont finish this interview.” Jessi nodded understanding and grateful that he was being so helpful.
“Because of that poisonous touch, and the loss of the loving one, I cant stand to be touched by anyone. If i am then my first instinct is to attack, no matter what body i reside in. Seeing as how most times, no one can be sure which body i inhabit, its best that none be touched unless you want to run the chance of being attacked.” Casey said and smiled at Tutanka. “Tanka wouldnt hurt anyone unless he feels the need to protect those he have taken a liken to. Tu’tanka is my brother. Just the thought of losing him causes such a panic that just seeing someone touch him causes a rage.”He said and Tutanka turned to look at him. Casey bent down to touch his forehead to Tu’tanka’s to dispel some of his anxiety. Jessi watched them silently for a moment.
“I am glad that you two have such a strong bond of brotherhood.” She said choosing her words carefully. Wanting to lighten the mood she smiled and asked her next question. “Kymani told me that you play the piano, where’d you learn to play?”
It was such an innocent question, but it simply reminded Casey of a life that he had long ago forgotten. “It has been years since i last played. My aunt Aia gave me my first keyboard as a welcoming gift after i was adopted. I learned to play by ear. I like the way my fingers fly on the keys bringing forth such beautiful melodies.” h a smile.
Jessi was a little stunned that he spoke of family without her prompting. She wondered if he even realized that he had. “That sounds beautiful. I wish i could hear you play one day. Do you have any original work?” She asked.
“Thank you,it is. I would love to play for you, but the likelihood of that happening is pretty low.” Casey said frankly. “I used to have some but i no longer have them nor do i remember them. It has been such a long time since i last played any kind of instrument. I miss playing and making music.”
He looked up and looked in her direction. He focused his gaze on Rosco who had made himself at home on er shoulder and fallen asleep against her neck. “He doesnt like many people. Im surprised that he has taken to you as he did.” Casey noted curiously.
“I like him too. He’s a cutie.” Jessi said with a soft laugh which caused Rosco to snuggle even more into her neck. Casey found himself liking her laugh but checked himself when he heard Kymani chuckling.
“Why are you doing this?” Casey asked suddenly. ‘Why are you doing these interviews?”
Jessi was taken aback by the sudden change in topic. “Oh...uh… well, i like to learn about the world of shifters and other supernatural beings.” She answered.
“What is a supernatural being? I never really understood that term. We are just as natural as anyone else. There is nothing super about me or anyone else like me.”
Jessi wasnt entirely sure what to say to that. Casey took note of the slight confusion and sighed. “It’s ok, i was just curious is all. Are we done with this interview?” He asked. Being near her was calming but the presence of the others, not so much. He could feel an itch underneath his skin that he tried to hide but it was becoming persistent. He looked down at Tu’tanka and sighed.
‘Kymani, i dont want to be here anymore.’ He said wearily.
‘Ok , kid.’ Was all kymani said before he came to the fore front and took over.
“We can end it if you are no longer interested in speaking.” Jessi said sweetly.
“Ah so the kid is who you go for, huh?” Kymani remarked surprising the hell out of Jessi.
“Kymani?” She asked. He touched his nose with one hand and pointed at her with the other.
“Bingo!” He said and laughed.
“What happened to Casey?” Jessi said a bit irritated.
“He took a step back. Being here was starting to get to him.” Kymani said with a shrug. “The kid took a liking to you. I was surprised he spoke with you as long as he did. He must be getting lonely.” Kymani said thoughtfully. He looked at her and gave her a charming grin before standing. “ you are more than welcome to join us should you get tired of being around the normal people and decide to live amongst us supernatural folk.” He teased and ruffled Tu’tanka’s fur, nearly getting bit in the process.
Jessi laughed at that and shook her head. “I will have to take a reign check on that invite.” She stood and stretched out her hand. Rosco wasnt too happy with all the movement, so he angrily flew over to Tu’tanka who had just finished stretching and sat quietly waiting. Kymani grinned and pulled her into his arms, enjoying the feel of her body against his.
“That’s better.” He said. Finding her anger amusing.”Now as for my offer, it will be an open one. We have no means of communication, so when the mood hits we’ll come for you.” He was very much aware of the human male that had the hots for the woman which made it all the more fun.
Jessi couldnt lie, she was loving the feel of his body against hers.Casey and Kymani were an enigma, but she oddly enjoyed them. “Yo!Let’s wrap this up.” James called angrily which caused Kymani to growl and James backed off. The growl was what brought Jessi out of her stupor. She gently pushed him away.
“That sounds ...fun. It was a pleasure to have you both her today.” She said not sure what else to say to that.
“The pleasure was mine.” He cast a look at the crew and glared at james who gulped nervously. “Would it be ok for me to take a few heads with me for the road?”
Jessi burst out laughing when she saw what Kymani was doing. “Of course it wouldnt be ok. I need them.” She said and shooed him off. She had such a primal reaction to him it wasnt even funny but she pushed it away. His knowing grin though didnt help.
“OK oK fine.” He said and waved to Tu’tanka. “Come on pup. Well then, i’ll see you around woman.” He said and lifted his hand in goodbye as he walked off, Tu’tanka close on his heels.
“Well that was...different.” She muttered in went in the other direction to her office to prepare the file for Casey’s interview.
