Sarah never recalled getting into an argument with the general, and she never hoped to be in one with him. She didn't like arguments at all; they always ended in her crying in either sadness or anger. It didn't help that she couldn't stay mad for long, regardless if the recipient of her anger deserved it. "Thanks, Anya," she said gratefully, not knowing what was going on between her friend and King Damien, but thankful that she could lean on her. And she hoped that Anya knew that she could lean on Sarah too.
Sarah couldn't help but laugh at what her friend said. "What's a tody?" Then Sarah rolled her eyes slightly. Adisa deserved to be called a bitch. She certainly acts like one. Sarah didn't want to take the liberty of doing so, for fear of offending Julian or Adisa if she so happened to pop out of nowhere. She smiled cheekily at Anya's sudden laugh though, pleading, "Tell me, tell me!" In the back of her mind, she thought that this sense of camaraderie wouldn't have been felt back at the castle. Don't get her wrong; she loved everything about the city and its inhabitants. But she found that it was also nice to have no prying eyes watch as she laughed openly at the insane girls in the story.
Which she did. In fact, she tried to hold it in. It ended up coming out in a snort before she released it. She didn't bother hiding it behind her hand like she normally would have. When she met his gaze and saw the small blush, she managed to reign it back in. "I'm sorry." She tried to be sympathetic. Then after a minute, "You have to admit it's pretty funny."
When it came to Cardinal, it was her turn to blush. "Life mate? No. That couldn't be. Felicity told me something about dragons having those. She said that she knows I haven't found mine because I didn't have the Clan symbol." That conversation had been completely confusing. And rather sexist in Sarah's opinion. "It should feel like a sharp pain in my lower back as soon as I touch 'the one I am meant to be with.'" It was clear with the way her fingers on each hand formed quotation marks that she didn't really believe that. Was it because she felt that if that were the case she would have found her 'True One' by now? Or mayhap she mocked it because she (wouldn't ever admit this out loud and in fact tried to swat it away because what the hell was she thinking?) had feelings for both Crevan and Julian and neither one of them revealed the Clan's mark. It could also be because she was also part faerie and part witch so she might not even have the clan symbol appear.
Oh, she didn't know. It was just a big ol' tangled mess of feelings and genetics and nerves.
"I didn't even feel so much as a tickle when I touched Cardinal. I had to have met him a different way." Sarah had started to turn her back then to face the ocean, so she didn't even see Julian stiffen. If she did, what would it have even meant? She had already come to terms that she wasn't good enough so seeing that would have made her second guess herself. Normal territory for her. But she was slightly concerned with Julian's words about the whole crew being unfamiliar.
As she leaned against the railing, she took a good whiff of the salty air. Having lived farther inland back with her adoptive parents, she never had the chance to go to the beach. If this was anything like that she had been missing out. Seeing Prince Julian out of the corner of her eye and the close proximity between the two, she blushed slightly. Then she saw Anya come up on her other side and grinned. She be happy if she stayed like this for a while. Just enjoying the company the two brought.
"Hmm, well..." Sarah trailed off, thinking back to before the time she was kidnapped. "After we moved South, Mom and Dad started up teaching, so we really didn't have that much money coming in, what with the bills and things. We made do with what we had. We lived in a suburb just outside of a big city, but we went camping every chance we got. Dad used to be in the military -" Funny how she forgot about that, and found it coincidental that her master was the general of the Isles' military - "So he prided himself in knowing the outdoors. But anyway. We had a tiny three-person tent that barely fit our sleeping bags and my dog."
Suddnely, she giggled, settling her chin on her crossed arms. "My nonno rescued Tater from a dog-fighting ring and gifted her to me when I was eight. You couldn't tell that she came from a rough patch in her life though because she always always had her tail waggin' or a smile on her face. She's older now, maybe about ten or eleven. Still acts like a puppy. But anyway.
"Mom and Dad couldn't have kids, so they were looking to adopt. I swear it was like something out of a movie when they told me the story because they said that there was a knock on their door in the middle of the night and there I was, freckle-faced and a cry that woke my nonno and nonna up just down the road from where we used to live. When they took me camping for the first time, it was just after they finally got the adoption papers back. It had taken forever because the adoption system takes forever and is rather flawed." She straightened up and tucked an errant lock of hair behind her ear. "But when they did they wanted to celebrate. For them that was by pitching a tent under the trees and eating s'mores. Oh," she gasped then, eyes widening before laughing and shaking her head. "It's been forever since I've had one of those."
Her head tilted to the side, a wistful gaze looking out onto the horizon where the light blue sky met the darker blue of the ocean. A lump was starting to form in her throat, homesickness hitting her hard again. It's been so long since she saw her mom and dad last. Over a year? Maybe two? She didn't know. It made her wonder what they were doing right now. What about Tater? Was she being good?
With that homesickness in the pit of her belly, sitting on top of the cheese like a large rock, she made the decision for herself. After she got Laina and Jewel switched back, she was going to see them again. She wasn't sure how they were going to take her physical appearance or the magick within her went totally against their beliefs. But she had to see them. Had to let them know that she wasn't dead and that she was perfectly fine where she was.
With that thought warming her, chipping away at the homesickness, melting the lump in her throat, she shrugged nonchalantly. "It's not much. But after I graduated high school we made plans to go backpacking across the country and travelling to different places. Even if we had to hitchhike."

Anya would smile and shrug her shoulders a little" It's what friends do." She simply said before stretching a little," Oh a hot tody is a coffee whiskey. Burns on the way down if you put too much in it. "
She leaned on the railing watching the skyline in the distance looked dark, she thought nothing of it when Julian smiled at Sarah's enthusiasm and couldn't help but chuckle. It was nice to see him loosen up then being so stuffy at the palace, she shook her head and laughed when he only blushed further at the teasing. Julian cleared his throat lightly looking away from them for a moment." Yeah sorta." Julian seemed to be relieved when the subject changed from him.
" Well thank god for that huh?" He said leaning on the railing now more, Anya just shook her head. " Well isn't that a shame." She said with a giggle. When she was describing what it would be like to find a life mate she cringed." Ick why do things like that have to be so painful? I mean I know that if I find a suitable mate somethings happen to tell me so. A little personal to go into detail in front of the prince though."
Julian chuckled at the slight blush that came to Anya's face, " Well our mad king's tradition is to marry those chosen for us. So I have no clue if there is a thing that lets us know. " He frowned a little. " Though our women seem to be promiscuous excluding my mother of course. But she is only a half breed. "He said that as if it was a natural thing to say. " Well, at least that's what I have heard them say. "
Anya and Julian settled against the railings watching her as she spoke about her home, Anya had been to their realm knowing what the place looked like a little. Julian seemed enthralled with her telling her home life. He tilted his head when he noticed the change in her voice, he would stand up straight." And then your whole world was turned upside down by my father, right?" He looked as if he might be a little distant for a moment. " I am truly sorry that you were not able to do the things you sought out to. "
He bit his lip as if trying to think. " I could ask the General to give you leave of him. " Anya would raise a brow. " He already has, she has his signet ring and his medallion or whatever. It isn't like she can't go home. She needs but asks anyone to take her." Anya said her words seemed a little heated as she looked away from Sarah and Julian. " I mean her Master isn't bound by the court but only in duty as the General of the military. She could attend court as his head advisor and sit in an actual seat on the council. " Julian seemed a little shock. " Is this true?"
Tempest blinked hearing the trio speaking louder than before she would close her book and head slowly over to them taking her pack with her. She didn't just rush right in but instead hung back so not to bother them. She was however tired of standing alone and she couldn't help but overhear what they had been talking about.

"Well, he is cute," Sarah said as an afterthought to Anya after she nodded her head to Julian. "And he certainly knows it." Then, she bumped her hip into Anya's giving her a knowing look. "When Adisa comes to drag the prince off you can tell me then." The girl didn't know what possessed her to do it, but after she teased him she winked at Julian, more of one that told him that she was only kidding than of a flirtatious one. Before she could even think twice about it, she drew her brows together a bit at learning Laina being a half-breed. "I didn't know that," she murmured. "Well, about your mother being part vampire. The other part I can see. After all, you have to be pret-ty promiscuous in order to sneak into the castle to see someone's full glory."
Her whole mood changed as she talked about her past, going from light-hearted joking to wistful and saddened just a tad. "No, not really. I mean, yeah, my world did change, but he bought me off auction from a sex-trafficking ring." She paused for a moment, contemplating on stopping there. After all, what she went through was rather hellish and she wasn't sure if she was ready to delve into that. But then she decided to trudge through it. Maybe if she brought it to light then maybe it ... she didn't know what it would do, but she sure as hell didn't want to have them feel bad for her. "I was kidnapped a couple blocks from my school after a basketball it was hosting. That was when I found out that there are more things out there than humans. I. Was. Terrified." She chuckled awkwardly then, knowing that that was all she would be able to get into.
"That's all right," Sarah said, smiling at Julian reassuringly before shrugging once more. But before she could tell him that Crevan had actually given her permission to do what she had wanted, Anya spoke up for her, and in a rather heated way too. Her eyes were slightly wide at her friend's tone, worried more than anything because Anya was upset. Or at least to Sarah she was. She wasn't quite sure if Anya was with Sarah or in general, but she raised her hand to lay it on Anya's arm.
Was she surprised at the fact that she could to all of these things in Crevan's name? Why, yes she was. Her master never told her that bit of information as he had giving the signet and the medallion. To be quite frank, she wasn't sure if she wanted that responsibility either. Sitting on the council? She didn't even know there was a council! Before she could even think about any more of this, she heard the incredulity in Julian's voice as he asked if it were true.
"I guess?" Sarah answered, making it sound more like a question than anything. "I didn't know about that! Master had just said when he gave me the medallion that I had the freedom of the royal family and before that could just sign papers or whatever in his name. I didn't know that I could attend court or sit with the council."
Then it hit her. A fear that she didn't know she had. Was he only giving her this freedom and responsibility because she looked like Aranel? Her chest tightened because of it. Sarah barely breathed, sparks flying from her fingertips due to heightened emotions. Why did she feel hurt? So what if that was the only reason why he gave her such freedom?
You're working yourself up for no reason, she heard in her mind. Just breathe.
Immediately, she did, taking a deep inhale in through her nose, held it for a few moments, then exhaled the same way the air came in. Then she flexed her fingers, turning a bit so that she can retrieve her pack for her water, only to stop mid-turn when she saw Tempest. "Oh." She straightened her posture, smiling in what hoped was a friendly way. "Hi!"

Anya would giggle when Sarah bumped into her on purpose, she couldn't help feel Sarah was opening up well on the ship. " Maybe..." She said full blushed as she shook her head, it was something very personal that was usually only passed on by the part to the child to even know what it meant. Hardly ever spoke about. When the talk went serious Julian stiffened again hearing where she had come from a set an angry edge in him.
It wasn't against her but for what had happened, he had a few ideas for her captures that involved a short drop and a sudden stop. He watched her emotional changes and had the urge to give her a hug, but he made no move to show that thinking that it was best to let her finish speaking. Julian was surprised to hear that she could do all those things, something that was never heard of. And the council was mostly forgotten because of his mother's condition, they only meet once a year till a new queen is appointed along with the heir.
But the tone Anya took had him a little concerned that she was angry with Sarah till she spoke up." I am not mad at you. I am mad that after more than a thousand years nothing has changed for all witches on the Isles. It has to be put to a vote. Not enough people on the council have changed their minds. " She said softly now. She looked saddened slightly but shook her head.
Sighing lightly she would lean with her back to the railing." You do you fall under the rules of the General. He currently has none. They were too afraid to chastise him after he killed a few nobles ..." Julian would clear his throat and shook his head." That is his story to tell. Not your's Anya." She flushed a little and pressed her lips together.
" Sorry. It must be the freedom I feel on this ship that has my lips so loose. Julian and Anay looked to Sarah wondering if she was ok. Anya raising a brow." You ok?" Julian chuckled." It looked as if you just realized something..."
Julian turned clearning his throat, " Ah did not hear you approuch." Tempest smiled a little waving her hand." Hi.." She said softly looking at Sarah. Anya would cross her arms watching the exchange, Adisa had finally calmed down after a while she decided to retreive him from his little swarya upstairs. But when she reached the top she saw the group had grown by one and was now livid once more, she however reinged in her anger to listen in on what they might be talking about.

Hearing Anya speak of the witches had Sarah thinking. She had definitely lucked out with her master. But it wasn't like that for other Scions. At least from Anya's words, it wasn't. She couldn't help but liken it to her time with the girls she had been with before King Damien bought her. How they had been sold to pedophiles and sadistic bastards that didn't know what consent was if it bit them in the ass.
Then she started thinking about how it needed to change, and how. Sure, she could sit on the council in Crevan's place, but would the council go for it if she was the one to bring it up? No, probably not. Most definitely not. But she knew that if she spoke as if it came from Crevan's mouth, or maybe even have himself bring it up the next time the council came together, surely they would bring it up to a vote then.
With all of these emotions raging in her, vying for attention, she had a hard time focusing on the now, not really acknowledging what Anya was going to say about her master. Even with Tempest a few feet away from her, all she could think about was getting herself under control so that Crevan didn't come up to the deck worried. "Um," she murmured under her breath, at a loss for words.
Introduce yourself, you dolt.
"I'm Sarah, General Crevan's Scion." Sarah gave Tempest an encouraging smile, even if she didn't feel encouraged herself at the moment, and curtsied a bit. She thought about introducing Anya and Julian, but she decided against it. She paused a moment to see if they would introduce themselves, then continued, "You're his daughter, correct?"

Tempest smiled to Julian shrugging her shoulders" I am very good at being silent when I need to be." She naturally had the vampires ability to be soundless. Most did not use this ability so not to have those around them be fearful and violent, she just did it naturally without really trying. Anya watched her for a moment as if she was trying to figure out her motive for being here, for someone reason she felt an uneasy feeling.
She couldn't put her finger on it though. Tempest would curtsey in return," Yes, test my blood if you need." She held out her arm for them to do a spell if they wanted. Julian took in a breath closing his eyes quickly though before they could shut the brilliant red had danced in his eyes. Anya laughed shaking her head." It must be a good scent Jullian if her being this close makes you want to feed. Adisa was quick to come from her hiding spot then," Julian let us go before you do something you will regret." Jullian opened his eyes to have them normal again. " I am fine Adisa." His voice had a growl to it.
Tempest tensed at Adisa's arrival Julian feeling that would smile and bow to the three." Good evening Ladies enjoy the rest of your night." His voice was now smooth once more the slight timber of his voice calming in sound. Tempests edge faded away along with Anya's. His eyes having more of a glint to them from the flecks as if he just spelled them. Bowing before making his leave with Adisa chewing his ear off with scoldings about him risking breaking the code. Tempest came back to her senses looking very relaxed," I feel as if I know you from somewhere. " She knew who she reminded her of, though there were many great differences she supposed. She had only seen pictures and could not remember her time from being a baby.
~*~*~*~*~
Crevan was going over some paperwork when a crow flew in dropping a few scrolls on the desk. " Thank you, Alister" Crevan fed him something and the bird ate it before turning human again. " Well, its the least I could do. Since you seemed in a hurry and forgot them on your war table. Oh, how is our Sarah doing?" He could tell by the man's deep concentration something was bothering the young woman. " I have no Idea. It has been a whirlwind of emotions...Perhaps I made her a Scion too soon. "
Alister chuckled sitting down on another chair. "Hmm, You did it because she reminds you of Aranel.." Crevan cut him off with a slam of his fist and a hiss. Alister looked shocked for a moment before he straightened his jacket and smiled. Crevan stood up coming to be before him with only a few steps. " No. The reason I made her my Scion is because she is powerful...." He paused and tried to calm himself.
" This means if I lose myself once more she could stop me. She can grow into the title..Another is I trust her she is completely innocent and has no motive against me" He said before waving his hand as he moved to sit down once more. " I do not need you further yet. " Alister bowed before making his leave as the crow again. Crevan merely sighed going back to work. He knew that Sarah needs to grow into her own and not be coddled if she became fearful well that was a different matter altogether.

Before Sarah could respond that she believed Tempest, Adisa appeared. Silently, she watched the exchange, noticing Tempest becoming tense at the sight of the prince's Scion. Her eyes widened slighty when Julian told Adisa that he was fine, hoping that he could stay for a few moments before they were dashed when he bowed to the girls.
"You as well, Prince Julian," she murmured, curtsying one more time. It was probably because Julian got to hear about her past that she felt like she could trust him a little bit now and that she was sad to see him go. Sarah remembered the first night they met, at her birthday ball. If someone would have told her that she would have been cutting up with him on a ship deck, opening up to him and her best friend, she probably would have laughed.
She just wished that Adisa wasn't such a jealous person.
There was a smile that graced her lips at Tempest's words shortly after that, a mix of ruefulness and formality. "I get that a lot on the Isles," Sarah replied, bending down to her pack and pulling out a tie so that she can put her hair up in a messy ponytail. At least, she got that a lot from people whose lives Aranel has touched. There was even a time where she passed by a couple witches in the market just outside of the castle gates who feared that there was necromancy magick being cast within the Isles. (That was an interesting exchange.)
She contemplated on bringing up the fact that she did indeed looked like the girl's mother. But she didn't, instead sighing lightly and looking out on the horizon. Where it had been light blue what seemed like moments before, it was dark gray, an ominous color that had her skin crawling a minute. "It looks like it's going to rain," Sarah said, slightly worried. "Are we going to be all right?"
***
On what would most call in this realm 'the mainland', a tall man stood in front of a large cage, dark in color and strong enough to hold what was inside it currently.
"You dare come here and mock me?" the being inside hissed.
"No," the man replied, hands clasped behind his back confidently. He was dressed in the royal colors of his country, a decorated military uniform of black and trimmed gold. They haven't been the country's colors for long; a short few years ago his 'father' passed away in a tragic accident, leaving his mother to reign in his stead until she herself passed and his older 'brother' took her place. As her first act, she ordered that the colors be changed and the flag dyed black and painted with a golden flower "to always mourn the loss of our great emperor". But only he knew why she had changed it.
"I've come to make a deal with you." With a hand on the hilt of his sword and a stoic expression on his face, he stepped forward unabashedly to the shackled dragon. He had dismissed the guards watching over the noble beast, leaving the two alone to speak with no prying eyes or ears. He knew that this realm wasn't exactly the most trusting of dragons, so he didn't need anyone here to find out that he, himself, was one. "Olim, I offer you freedom in exchange for your allegiance to me."

Tempest smiled when Sarah told her she gets that a lot." It must because of your beauty. Most people must become inthralled by it. " Anya smiled shaking her head." You can try and tell her that. My friend refuses to believe such things about herself that is painful to continue trying to tell her so." She said patting Sarah's shoulders." But I love her all the same." She said with a giggle nuzzling Sarah's cheek. When Sarah mentioned it looking like a storm Anya turn to look into the distance she frowned.
" Well, it all depends really." She said with a smile. Tempest raised a brow," What is that?" she asked fidgeting with her pack slowly as if worried. Anya leaned on the rail once more." If the crew is worth its salt we should be fine." She giggled before pushing off the railing." I am going to call it a night Sarah..... Tempest...I shall see you in the morning." She said picking up her pack and moving towards the lower deck waving her hand as she walked away, she was slow with her walk as if she was very tired all of a sudden. Tempest looked to the darkened area and looked slightly frightened, " I hope it passes us by."
A few men ran up to the bow of the deck before climbing up the sail's mast to get to the crow nest. One of them shouted down to the one below," Storm a coming!!" The man with the lamp would run downstairs to the captain he was resting. Tempest looked even more frightened as she looked to Sarah." I do not know how to swim..." Her voice was very low all most silent to anyone's ears. Her horrified look made her face extremely pale, she gripped her bag tighter after she put her journal in it.
~*~*~*~*~
Crevan set the paperwork in a satchel that Alister could pick up at any time, it was spelled with some sort of protection so the paperwork wouldn't be ruined if the pack got soaked on the ship. He would sigh rubbing his eyes lids from stress from what he knew was going to a lot of drama on the island with the whole group together. He knew that Adisa rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, and Julian was much like him and not choosing to treat her like a slave. Though he figured the boy would eventually get over that fact if she ruined things for him, he hoped that this would not happen on this island.
Setting the satchel by the porthole with the swing open, he would then begin to pace the room. He didn't manage to see the darkness that was rolling in, though the boat seemed a little more alive with the waves and its movements. He stopped pacing as he heard the boat creak and moan, stepping into the hall he saw the prince and Adisa moving into his room. He noticed they seemed to be arguing, though when he saw Anya by herself he frowned.
" Anya, where is Sarah?" She would look up with a smile," Talking to Tempest on deck. She is fine." She waved her hand at him going into her room. Hearing she was ok relaxed him which made him wonder if he was overreacting to the movements of the ship.

There was a blush that formed on her face, starting with the apples of her cheeks and blooming outward to the tips of her ears. Sarah hadn't been expecting that one. Tempest and Anya could see that she was shocked. Then she laughed a little bit, waving her hand playfully at Anya's words. "I love you too," was all she said, because no matter how many times people have told her as such, she never really believed them. Just as much as it was painful for those that keep telling her this it is exhausting to deny them.
The phrase "fake it 'till you make it" came to mind briefly. Maybe if she just rolled with their words she would believe them herself.
Sarah herself was worried about this storm; Tempest said out loud what she was thinking, hoping that it did, indeed, pass them by. When Anya said that they would be fine if the crew was good at their job, she grew more comfortable. Even if Cardinal was a stranger, he was part of this crew. She trusted him based on her knowing him from somewhere. That feeling was still there, strong and persistent, so she took that as him being worthy of her trust. With that, she bid Anya goodnight and turned to Tempest.
"Hey, it's okay," she found herself saying, trying to soothe Tempest. No, she didn't quite catch her not being able to swim; if she did she would admit that she didn't know how to either. Instead, she moved to where she was side-by-side with Tempest after she picked up her own pack, thinking it best that the girls followed Anya's suit.
"Ladies," Cardinal said behind them, making Sarah jump and squeak. Sarah heard his laugh, musical in quality but short in time. "I apologize." He bent to have his face in between theirs, his grin saying anything but apologetic. "But I feel it's best that you call it a night. You will feel a lot safer down below."
There was a loud thunder clap, seeming to emphasize his words. Sarah didn't mind the rain, really. The only sucky part of it was that it made everything gloomy. Thunder on the other hand ... it made her skin crawl and heart pick up the pace a little bit. "Let me escort you down," he continued, seeing Sarah freeze for a few brief moments.
"No, that's all right," Sarah replied, forcing herself to move forward with her hand still on Tempest's elbow. If Tempest let her, she would bring her down below with her. She couldn't leave her up there. Not when Tempest was this frightened. "Thank you though. We'll be fine."
"If you say so," the red-headed man said, stepping back from the two. Only when he saw them disappear below deck did he turn and help the crew with what they needed to prep for the storm.

Tempest smiled when Sarah tried to calm her nerves and bolster her, trying to knock away her fear. That was all dashed when Cardinal spoke behind them and she made a squawking noise, all most smacking him in the face with her bag till she noticed who it was. Her heart rate was fast in her chest making her feel faint for a second, she was about to chastise him when he said he was going to escort them down below. Though it seemed Sarah had a mind to escort her she allowed her to pull her down the stairs to the deck below," He is mischievous. " She said softly." Who was that?"
Anya moved inside her small cabin hanging up her outer clothes not wanting to get into her nightshirt because there might be a storm. She didn't want to be stuck in it because she wouldn't be able to dress. Letting out a sigh hearing Sarah and Tempest passing as they went, she smiled glad that Sarah had pulled the young woman down with her. She knew that Sarah was a savior of sorts when it came to lost or hurt people, she drained to protect them as she hadn't been given. It was one of the many aspects she loved about Sarah as her friend, making it easier to outlook her lack of self-esteem because she would do anything for anyone over her self. It was that kind of selflessness that Anya admired greatly in her, meant she was pure of heart and the kingdom needed that in any form.
Julian let out a sigh as he laid on the bed in just his shorts, "I can not believe you. Why did you remain if you needed feeding?" Adisa said as she adjusted her clothes a little, she scowled as he ignored her by reading a book. She walked over and plucked it from him which had him slapping his leg and letting out a frustrated growl. " I did not need to feed. It was the smell of her it's much different than yours. " Adisa dropped the book on him and turned to walk back over to the wardrobe.
" What you asked." He said as he started reading the book again. Adisa looked angrier then she had before, though tears reached her eyes she would quickly wipe them away that didn't help. Julian had shifted from the bed dropping the book and walking over hugging her from behind." That does not mean your blood is not important to me. " She would try and shove him till he turned her around." Adisa I told you being my connection to magic would be difficult. And allowing me to feed on you would be even worse. I am not attracted to you in the manner in which you want or think you want. " He would slowly rub her shoulders." I only need your blood, magic, and friendship. You can not keep acting like my girlfriend. "
Adisa would laugh and shove him away as she sniffled," I know stupid. Just sometimes I find it funny when Sarah gets all weak in the knees for you. Because you will never date her either. I am right aren't I?" Julian raised a brow," What makes you think that? Because I flirt with the woman that throw their selves at me? " He laughed moving to the bed sitting down." I am kind and gentle with her because I like her. I flirt with them because it keeps the council guessing, the longer they think I won't take the throne the happier they will be. I plan on changing things when I become King. "
He would snatch the book up again. " Something my father forgot the moment my mother got pregnant with me." He let out a sigh," My sister, on the other hand, turned him into a mad King, so much so ..." Adisa blinked and turned to him." And she fled...I know" She said softly walking over to him and sitting down next to him playing with his hair. " Why is it that you haven't aged much?" She asked softly. " I have No Idea. I suppose magic from my mother trying to keep me young forever. " He laughed and closed his eyes." Though I do not feel in thought to old. I still feel like a child perhaps that is why." Adisa would gently brush his hair from his brow watching him, she yearned to be his but knew better; knowing she was his shield and armor plus food source. 'Her feelings did not matter' she told her self.
Crevan had stepped back inside the cabin waiting for Sarah to come to the room, he felt deeply tired today he could not understand why. He had not fought or been without rest, he supposed it was the stress of hearing his daughter was alive straight from her lips? Him not recognizing her till he smelled her blood. He felt sick to his stomach with worry and the pain of not being there for her and assuming she was gone.
He had not the strength to even barry what was left of his family. He had someone trusted to do that, it raised the question as to whos child had been the decoy to his child. He was furious all over again with his father after years of getting over it, his fire was renewed because he knew that he was the one that had tucked her away. And it explained as to why his mother had disappeared, he let out a deep growl before shoving it away feeling Sarah's presence getting nearer.

"His name is Cardinal," Sarah replied, then frowned at how it sounded. It was as if she had found out how she knew him, what with the familiarity she said his name with. "He is part of the crew. Pretty sure I know him from somewhere but for the life of me can't figure it out." She shook her head and sighed shakily. The thunder was off in the distance, but it still rattled her to her core. She was scared herself, but knew that Tempest was worse off than her.
She just needed to toughen it out until she got into the room.
"I do get the feel that he is mischievous though," she laughed at that. Her feet made the descent into the lower portion of the ship of their own accord, one right after the other. She was thankful for that because she found herself not being able to think other than getting her and Tempest to the cabins before the rain started to pour. "He said that he went by Flirt too. I think he just likes to get in trouble for the fun of it."
She made sure that Tempest kept her footing, going slow and stopping when the ship lurched to one side every once in a while. Sarah thought to herself, "Never again will I get on a ship after this." It has definitely not been what she was thinking. It was good at the beginning, smooth sailing for the most part and rather level as she Julian and Anya talked and danced with the sailors. But now? She was just glad that she wasn't vomiting. "Where are you going to be sleeping tonight?"
It was for a brief moment that she felt her master's anger, hot and boiling as it coursed through her veins. Temporarily, she thought it was her own, causing it to take away her breath before just as suddenly it went away. Sarah knew that he pushed his feelings away for her own sake. But she also knew that it was bad for someone to bottle their feelings for so long. And Crevan has been doing it for so long.
Sarah wanted to help him. But she wasn't sure how. Just telling him that he could come to her with anything wasn't going to work, she gathered. Neither was prying into his business.
She didn't need to be worrying about that right at this minute though, she told herself. She will do that when she gets into her own room. So she turned to Tempest and waited for her answer.

Tempest seemed to think he was mischievous but took her word for it, " I see. " She said softly wondering if Sarah was terrified as she was. She was tense as she walked with Sarah along the lower deck when the ship tilted she felt she might knock her over but Sarah seemed to handle it well.
Tempest would close her eyes tightly trying to push the fear out by concentrating till it did it again she let out a small yelp. " All the cabins are full I think. " She said softly. " I was going to just stay on the deck, but the storm broke out." She said softly looking around wondering if there was a place she could sleep at. " I mean I could sleep in the crew area I suppose."
She figured most of them would up and about with the coming storm, she heard arguing in one of the private cabins. She wondered if it was the prince and his witch, she felt her body tense again as the reached the end of that one hall that leads into another leading to the Crew Quarters.
The dead end though was where Crevan was at and where Sarah would be stopping off. " So is this a rite of passage or something?" She had not asked the details but knew that Hellenia expected her to learn their magic. But it was hard to think of anything else because of the thundering of the storm along with the ship bobbing up and down in the water from the waves.
~*~*~*~*~
Some of the crew took it upon themselves to sneak into the captain's cabin while he and the Busan were shouting orders to the rest of the crew. They were 'liberating' the coin inside the chest that was left open out of habit, those that were outside in the thick of it as the beginning of the rain hit the deck of the ship hard kept their wits about them. they moved along the rigging like monkeys to adjust the ship's sails so not to overturn the ship.
It was difficult in the blinding rain with the ship tossing about as they headed deeper into the storm where no end seemed in sight. Each of the yells falling on deaf ears as the sound was deafening because of the rain and thunder. Large waves came up over the top deck the water sliding over and down the stairs and into the lower decks. It was chaos on top deck things were sliding around that where once tied down, and the water was filling up the boat where many were trying to

"Absolutely not."
The two words came out with such force that Sarah scared herself. Something inside triggered Sarah when Tempest said that she might go sleep in the crew area. To be honest she might be okay now, while all the crew was out fighting against the storm. But what about when the storm passed? She was sure that the crew was going to be exhausted afterward. Not to mention there wasn't one person in the crew that was female, and Julian mentioned that said crew was unfamiliar. Sarah didn't trust that situation.
"Erm, before you make a decision," she retracted, all conviction that had previously been in her voice gone. Her hand reached for the door that led to Crevan's and her cabin. There was just enough force to open it just a crack for her to peak into it. There, she saw her master sitting at the desk, and on either side of the desk was a single bed. Crevan must have said something about her aversion of sharing a bed with him, she thought. Had she not been thinking what she was thinking, she would have been grateful.
Sarah closed the door without a word, but if Crevan looked to her way she would have given a large grin before she did. After all, she didn't want to give away the fact that the thunder was giving her a scare like she was a little kid.
"There are two beds in there," she nodded her head to the cabin where Crevan was currently in. "I'm sure the general wouldn't mind if you bunked with us tonight. You can have my bed and I'll sleep with him. By him." She shook her head once and took a breath in as she heard the water thrashing the ship and looked toward the stairs where the rain was starting to come down them.
I hope this is normal during a storm, she thought before she answered, "Going to the island? It sounds like it. I wasn't really given much detail on it. Or if I did I don't remember much." She merely shrugged and gave her the same smile she gave Crevan. "Would you like to step in the cabin so we can talk about it?" Sarah knew that Tempest was just as scared of this storm as much as she was, if not more so. So she was trying to get them both out of the storm. Sarah wasn't the type of person to just look out for herself. No, her parents taught her to look out for others too.
So she was doing exactly that.

Tempest jumped when she spoke those two simple words, she blushed a little feeling as if she had been scolded. " Ok." Was all she whispered softly. When she spoke normally again Tempest relaxed, she would have tensed about sleeping in his room but she felt her decision to sleep in the crew quarters had been a stupid idea. " Yes, that was a stupid idea." She had a feeling that the earlier outburst had been because of her safety might have been compromised if she stayed in all male crew quarters. She blushed not having thought of that, only that sleep sounded peaceful compared to the thrashing of the waves
Tempest was amazed by Sarah's conviction now that it was not directed at her, she thought the fellow woman would make a great mother eventually. Her smile widened as she opened the door to peek inside. Crevan turned seeing her smile to him before she closed the door again. He would lean on the back of the chair feeling her having a few emotions mixing together he would raise a brow missing the chance to see his daughter outside the door.
Tempest would tilt her head a little as she watched Sarah," Oh, Yes if it is ok with you I would be honored to sleep inside your cabin." She said with a bow and refused to speak that the general was inside. When she spoke of stepping inside tempest would smile." Yes, Miss Sarah. " Crevan would stand the emotions when Sarah had first come to the door had him wondering if she was angerly talking to someone. But he was a little shock seeing tempest pushing the door open and motioning for Sarah to step inside first being her domicile if only for this trip.
" Evening too you both." Tempest would try and keep from making eye contact with him even though he kept switching his gaze from them both. He wondered what was happening above he would ask when they were done conversing.

Sarah smiled, a mix of embarrassment and relief that Tempest agreed. She feared that it would get awkward between Crevan and Tempest - after all, she found it to be that way when she first met Felicity. But her concern for Tempest outweighed her fear. There was also the passing thought that Crevan might say no to Tempest sleeping in the cabin; she highly doubted it, and if he did say no, she'll deal with the consequences of going against what he said.
"Evening, Master," Sarah chirped, bolstered at Tempest's answer. She waited until Tempest came in and shut the door before she continued. "Tempest has nowhere to sleep. Since there are two beds in here I thought that it would be best that she board with us for the remainder of the trip." She gave him another smile, this time hopeful, before she continued. Really, she didn't give him time to ask any questions. "Tempest could take one bed and you and I will take the other."
She sounded so bold to say that, but in all honesty she didn't feel bold. Fake it 'till you make it, she thought to herself. "She was orignally just going to stay on the deck, but it started storming."

"Do you honestly believe that I would trade one entrapment for another?" the caged dragon asked the prince, which only made him smile. It wasn't a happy smile, nor was it amused. It lacked any warmth a genuine smile would normally have. Rather, the human's smile looked ... inhuman. And quite mad.
"Why would you pledging allegiance to me be an entrapment?" Soren returned, moving so close that he and Olim shared the same breath. He reached up with one hand to wrap his fingers around one of the bars, tightening his grip until it became a sharp pain. "I seek to liberate the dragons of this realm. For you see ..." His pupils became smaller, then more elongated to reveal his secret to the dragon. "I am a dragon myself, trapped just like you, only in a fancier cage. I see the pain that has been caused by these ... people." He said the last word with so much disgust, it was as if he had tasted something bitter. "A noble species being used, bought, sold. For war animals. Their hides, teeth, and horns."
"Yes, it is rather saddening." Olim nodded, one of his precious horns scraping across the ceiling of the cage. The sound was sickening, but Soren didn't flinch. "But what do you propose you do that? You say 'this realm' as if there is more. Is there? One where dragons aren't used as tools?"
"I am so glad you asked," Soren said, giving a dark chuckle. "There is, and it is rather beautiful. Not the land itself, no. But there are humans that worship the very ground a dragon walks on."
"That sounds too good to be true."
"Pledge your allegiance to me, Olim." Soren released his hold on one of the bars, made of the strongest metal that its melting point is hotter than a dragon's fire. "And after we set fire to this continent, we will travel to the next realm and be gods."
