Jewel and Ventia (if you want to Ve) Malachi or Kai as he was known by his family parked up outside the Guild, he'd been in contact with his half sister for a while now and had recently taken up her offer to stay for a while. He got out of his Jeep, opened the passenger side door for his wife, Alyssa and walked up to the front door. Lu had let him in through the front 2 gates and so she was waiting for him at the door. Kai was Lu's brother, on her mother's side, and so he looked more spanish and tanned like she did. He was 5 years younger than Lu and was born through, and her mother hated to admit it, a drunken one night stand with a passing through Rogue. Kai didn't know who his father was, but from the looks of him he must have been Hawaiian or Somoan. Kai was huge and had been often called a walking house. He had tribal tattoos on his body and worked out everyday. Kai grabbed his duffle bag and walked over to his sister. He dropped it at her feet, grabbed her and picked her up. He swung her around and kissed her cheek. He had an infectious smile on his face and dropped his sister back on the floor. Kai still looked like a mischevious child to Lu and would always be someone she had to watch. When her father had turned up, she had stuff Kai in the small hiding spot she had made to hide chocolates and other things she wasn't allowed due to training and he was just small enough to fit. "Oh I missed you sister." Kai sighed. "I missed you too, now, let me introduce you to the family, but I warned you it's a messed up one. Let me just quickly give you a run down." Lu said and she took in a deep breath to explain her messed up family. "Basically, I'm mated to a man called Shade who is the step brother to the woman who was once my sister, but we ex-communicated her when she said she didn't want to be in this family and left us when Lena was in a coma. I have twins by Shade, the terrible two called Tayla and JJ. Then there is Selena, my daughter that I was a surrogate for, and she has a second chance mate called Drogo, her first mate had put her in a wheelchair by breaking her hreat when she was in a really fragile state and her first mate is with my ex-sister and from the intel I've gathered they've had sprogs together, urgh. Anyway, Lena has a son Tate through rape. Westly was my ex-sister's mate, but obviously not anymore. Thea is my ex-sister and Westly's daughter and Lena's best friend, she won't get rid of her, much to my chargrin because as long as she is here we have a treaty which restricts us from killing that bitch I once called a sister. Then I have William, my eldest, who is the son of my first mate and he is mated to MK, the adopted daughter of Westly and they have a son, my grandson, Daniel II. Thea is mated to Kenneth, poor boy and I think that's our messed up family." Lu explained as they walked into the Guild and up to Lena's office. "And with luck..." Lu said as she opened the door to the office that was once hers to find Lena sitting at the desk with Thea going over the Teams and their assignments. Lena looked up and smiled. She got up and went over to hug her Uncle Kai. She knew who he was, she had seen pictures and knew her mother was in contact with him. Lena was still getting used to her legs and she was happy that she had them back. Lu hadn't told Lena that Kai was turning up and Lena hadn't told Thea about Kai. "Hi Uncle Kai, it's nice to finally meet you." "Nice to meet you too Selena." "Please, call me Lena, everyone does and welcome to my Guild. This is my cousin, Thea." Lena said as she pointed to Thea. Kai looked at Thea past Lena and nodded at her. "You're the daughter of Westly and that other woman, not his current mate. Lu didn't tell me her name, just that she left the family." Kai said and his voice was sweet and held no spite or anger. Kenneth came running past, chasing after the 11 year old twins, Tayla and JJ. He did not look happy and the kids ran into the office and hid behind their mum. They were both giggling and Kenneth was covered in paint. "Do I want to know?" Lena asked. "Those two pushed over the paint on to me while I was re-painting the gym." Kenneth huffed. He was covered in white paint. Lena couldn't help, but laugh. "You two are in so much trouble." Lu said and they looked sheepish. "Your father is going to be so upset with you. You two promised no more pranks." Lu sighed. "Sorry mama." They mumbled. "Welcome to the mad house." Lena said. "Come on you two, home and you can go straight to your rooms while I talk to your father about your punishment. Now march." The twins slumped their shoulders and marched off home. "Kai, you and Alyssa are staying in our guest room, so lets get you settled. We'll be back for a family dinner." Lu said with a smile. "Will you be joining us?" Lu said as she stared at Thea. "Of course she will, won't you T?" Lena loomed at Thea with hope. Kai, Lu and Alyssa followed after the twins and Lena laughed again when she looked at Kenneth. She couldn't help it, he was covered and he was so red in the face with anger. "Go clean yourself up." Lena chuckled as she said back down in her chair. "Now T, where were we? Or are you a little shocked about Uncle Kai?"

Thea glanced casually up from the paperwork when she caught a glimpse of Selena moving from her chair, but she went back to scanning through a slip of paper just as soon as she was out of her peripheral. To say that she was distracted was an understatement. Since the nightmare – well, it wasn't really a nightmare, but a spell that she was put under – and her trip to Kenneth's room she had been trying her best to avoid him at all costs.
She had been absolutely terrified when she felt the love that he had for her like a warm blanket. And after the incident with Jackson, Thea couldn't discern whether running to Kenneth was a moment of weakness or a budding reciprocation to that emotion. What she couldn't figure out, she pushed to the back of her mind. Kept it there, no matter how many times the situation wanted to pop back up.
At the sound of her name, she straightened to attention, then finally turned her upper body to finally see who Selena was talking to. She drew one brow up, wondering why Selena was introducing her. But both brows were raised in shock when … this man didn't degrade her mother. Usually, when someone talks of Westly's ex-mate, there'd be a colorful expletive to go along with Jewel's name. To hear no bitterness from this man's mouth instantly raised her almost-always bitter spirit and had her thinking that maybe – maybe – she had a sympathizer.
Just as instantly as her shock came, it disappeared to be replaced with suspicion. Because nine times out of ten someone had to hold her back from socking a bad-mouther in the face, she was glad that this man hadn't been given her mother's name. He was a big man. Solid. A hit-man's build. And he wasn't tied to the Guild. So who's to say that if he had been given this information he wouldn't just take her mother out?
Thea crossed her arms and pressed her lips in a grim line. "As much as I'd like to cut all ties with him, yes, biologically Westly is my father. And despite my mistrust I respect that you haven't talked sh*t about my mother – in front of my face at least."
Before she could say anything further, her eyes locked immediately onto her cousins, who were surprisingly only slightly older than her young siblings. With interest, Thea watched them run until Kenneth ran in. When she saw him, she couldn't help it.
She laughed.
It wasn't a lady-like laughter. More like a side-splitting one. One that eventually went silent as she clutched her side to help ease the cramp she felt while leaning over the desk. Tears brimmed her eyes, and she let them fall even after the twins were reprimanded and sent on there way. She couldn't help it.
She only laughed harder at Kenneth's red face.
"You look like a frosted tomato!" she roared, obviously amused.
It was only when he left that Thea finally stopped laughing. With the back of her hand she wiped her eyes, oblivious to the offer to dinner. "Hmm?" she asked distractedly with her hands on her hips. "What? Oh." Then she shook her head before scratching the back of it, reverting not back to her distractedness. "Not shocked really. But I didn't catch that he's your uncle."

Kai wasn't one to pick fights with women especially ones that were this much smaller than him and he got a feeling that she was someone that was unstable when it came to her feelings. She just had that crazy eye about her and anyway, he'd just turned up and he wasn't going to pass judgement till he'd been here long enough to see the whole story.
Alyssa was quiet, watching everything that happened and making sure she could read everyone's feelings. She was a true cat, quiet and watching everyone before she struck. No one noticed her, just like a normal cat.
Lena watched Thea's shock and was glad that she wasn't going to have another person she wasn't to scream at. The thing is she wished Thea would just give up with trying to get sympathizers around here because it was just over. No one here cared and no one here wanted to hear about how her mother was wronged and blah blah blah. They all saw how Lena was wronged.
"Well I've just turned up and so it's not my place to judge until I have the whole story." Kai said.
Unlike Thea, Lena and Lu weren't going to get all rilled up and scream at her about how Westly was her father and how he was doing things for her, but they rised above it all.
Lena was a little shocked and so was Lu that Thea actually laughed at something. Normally she was so stone faced and such that it was such a shock that she was laughing, but then when you looked at Kenneth, you could understand.
"Great, my own mate laughs at me. Talk about your wounded pride." He muttered unhappily as he sulked off.
Lena turned to Thea and watched her trying to slip back into her distractedness, but she wanted that laughing Thea back.
"Yeah he's my uncle on my mum's side, you can call him Uncle Kai if you want, he wouldn't mind. That woman he's with is Alyssa, his wife, she's a cat." Lena said. "He's huge, isn't he? And Kenneth looked funny. Are you okay T?" Lena asked with concern in her voice.

Even as Kenneth sulked off with his "wounded pride", she laughed. Though … not as much. Actually, since his departure she felt a pang of guilt striking through her chest. Subconsciously, she rubbed just under her collar bone as if it were actually a physical wound. Stupid Jackson and his stupid question, she thought bitterly. Making me think about the stupid relationship.
"I've got enough emerging and disappearing family members," Thea said not unkindly. Just … neutrally. Since visiting the Tree of Life she's been getting good with this neutrality. Maybe it was because since that battle, she finally learned that not everything had to be a fight. The people around her weren't demons whose faces need to be pounded. "Yeah. I'm fine," she lied easily, folding the Manila envelope top over the papers that were inside before straightening and cracking her back. "Just tired."

Gem had a hold of Aiden's hand, their fingers interlocking as they walked into the foyer of the Guild's main building. Her eyes roamed warily around the room, only to be met with equally wary stares. Gem and Jewel shared a lot of features. Really, the only differences were the difference in eye color, that Gem had more scars, and that she was more tan than Jewel.
Oh, and their scents, but apparently people don't know how to smell.
Shade was in front of them, oblivious to the fact that every person they came across was hostile. With a big smile on his face, it was plain to see that this has been the first time he's seen Gem in a long time. In fact, the first thing they did when they reunited at the Outsider HQ was give each other a well-deserved, long hug.
After that was all business. No catching up. Just strict business. After roughly two decades, one would think Gem and Aiden would have given up finding their missing first born and bring back the other two from Cindimir's clan. Though that's not in Gem's agenda. She was going to find Lynn. And then she was going to burn down the place that she was holed up.
She squeezed Aiden's hand tighter.
"Just up these stairs is Selena. She can help find Lynn."
"Quick question. Why are these people lookin' at us like we're rats?"
Shade slowed considerably. There was a hesitance in his step. "Well," he said quietly. But stopped when he heard footsteps coming down the stairs. After taking a quick sniff of the air, he gave a broad grin. "Hey, look! My kids! And my lovely mate!"

There was a burn.
It was a constant flame that seared through his chest, along the Crest right above this body's heart. Most wouldn't have been able to survive it's intensity. They would have been driven insane to its degree of temperature and ultimately try to rip their heart out. He should know. He's seen it in motion.
But for Aiden...it reminded him of two things. Of his true self. Of the fire that lived inside of him and the fire in which he belonged to. It was a bittersweet pain, one that in the beginning made him desperate for a cure to his true self. It reminded him of the past. But also, of the future and present. Because this constant burn was proof of the woman beside him-his woman. His mate. It was proof that he had found her and she was alive and well next to him. Proof that the witch had made a mistake by sending him to this dimension, because instead of causing him pain-she had lead him to his one true love.
And what a love she was. Having given birth to his children and having to deal with his true form each month, and still being able to truly and completely love him. Too bad luck was never in his favor. It was why their children were taken from them. They never stopped looking for Lynn, for she was here. Somewhere. Had he been able to bound her to him whilst she was a babe, he would have found his child a long time ago. But binding could only occur when he was in his true form and alas, she was stolen from them before that day came.
It was why they were here. Ultimately to find their child. Luck however was on Gem's side, for she found her brother. Aiden knew about her life-just like she knew about his. So he was glad for her happiness, but still, he wondered if these people could truly find Lynn.
They always got strange looks whenever they went out and Aiden wasn't dressed head to toe. The runes that covered his entire body, starting apparently from the Crest and making its way along every inch of his skin besides his face, was enough to make anyone pause and stare. Seeing as how he wore a white t-shirt, jeans and boots, which would show the runes along his arms and fingers (barely visible through the white shirt as well), he didn't quite pay attention to the stares. Had he? He might have been more wary in this meeting that was to come.
The sight of the children hurt him more than the fierce flame against the Crest of his heart. He had never been able to see Lynn in this stage. He had lost her almost at a newborn stage. His fingers tensed along Gem's at the happy pair of twins. Besides from that, there was no emotion shown. At least, none other than Gem would pick on.
She'd see the slightly clenched jaw, or how his body temperature slowly rose up a few degrees, or even the slight change of expression in his gaze. Because she was made for him. Because she was his soulmate.
Aiden turned slightly away, his imperial purple gaze finding its way to Gem's warm green eyes. As always, it calmed him down and he smiled a secret smile just for her.
Then he turned back to look at Shade's family.

Lena knew she was lying. She'd lived with her all her life and she knew Thea. Something was bugging her and she wanted to know what or who and if it was a who how she wanted them dead. Lena walked over to Thea and took her hand in hers. She squeezed it gently and smiled at her.
"T, this is me you're talking to, OK? Remember? Le-Le? Tell me, what's up? You know I can help, I'm you're cousin, practically you're sister. Talk to me." Lena pleaded, eyes full of love and hope. She wanted to help. "If it's something, I'll help you like with the drugs, if it is someone, I'll let you decide how they die." Lena said with a malicious tint in her tone like she was being playful.

Lu was marching her children through the house, followed by her brother and sister-in-law when she heard Shade's voice and two others. She quickly caught that they wanted to see Lena and that she wanted her to find someone, ouch, heafty price coming their way, she thought. When they asked why people looked down on them, Lu just suppressed a giggle. They didn't trust outsiders.
Lu decended the stairs and smiled when she saw Shade. She went up to him and kissed him, smiling as she did. She loved Shade and although he sometimes reminded her of that woman, she loved him more and more each day. He was her world, him and her children.
"Shade, honey, the terrible two struck again." The terrible two was a nickname that everyone around here had given the twins due to their pranks. When they were good, they were the Ross Twins or their names, but when bad, it was the terrible two. Lu turned to her children and beckoned them forwards. "Tell your father what you did."
"We saw cousin Kenneth painting and..." Tayla said shyly.
"The paint was on top of his ladder and it wasn't very secure." JJ finished.
"Cousin Kenneth was underneath the ladder and the paint and well..." Taylor started again.
"We snuck up the ladder and pushed it over." JJ said, the ghost of a smile on his face. "He got covered in white paint and chased us to mummy, Lena and cousin Thea. Thea laughed." JJ said, staring up at his father. Tayla was looking at the floor.
"We're sorry daddy, we won't do it ever again." Tayla said with her signature big eyes and puppy pout.
"Put that away, young lady. You two said that the last time and you promised your father then. No, Shade, they need to be properly punished this time." Lu said and then she turned to Shade's guests. "So sorry, twins and all that. Lena has a waiting area outside her office if you'd like to wait there for Shade to introduce you." Lu said to them and then turned back to Shade. "Oh and honey, this is my brother on my mother's side, Kai and his wife, Alyssa. Kai, this is my mate and the father to the terrible two, Shade." Lu did the introductions. "Why don't I take Kai and Alyssa back home to get settled, you deal with the twins and send them home when you have decided on their punishment. Might I suggest cleaning up the gym and helping Kenneth paint and no video games or TV till it is done? Something like that. We didn't punish them last time, remember?" They had trusted the twins were being honest with them. "Then you can introduce your associates to Lena, she's in her office with Thea, going over plans for Thea's rescue missions." Lu said.
Lu turned to Shade's guests and smiled again. "Sorry again about the drama, it is not always....well maybe sometimes, but not completely always this chaotic." Lu sighed. "Come on Kai, let's go home." She said as she started walking and then turned back. "Oh Shade, family dinner tonight. Lena, Drogo, the twins, you, me, Westly, Kenneth, Kai, Thea and Alyssa. William, MK and Danny are still at Will's University, he's stuck on intern duty." Lu said the last bit sadly. "7pm, don't be late." She called over her shoulder as she left to go home.

I said, I was fine." Thea shook her head, solidifying her answer. She didn't want to talk. Not about relationship things, nor how she got upset. Besides, she didn't think that Selena would help matters much. Only serve to frustrate Thea. If this was love she was feeling for Kenneth, and if it was some voodoo-magic thing that Jackson had her under, she wanted to sort it out on her own. Having Selena go after a man that put Thea under a spell wasn't a good idea. Worst case Selena could team up with him to take down Nate. Another worst case was her accusing Thea of falling for another man when it was blatantly difficult to fall for Kenneth - at least, trying to scramble up to the ledge she was going to say she was pushed from.
She was not in a playful mood. In fact, all she wanted to do was vent out her frustrations. Punch a wall. Kick a dummy. Go run. Anything. Oh, she just knew thinking was going to get herself into trouble. Sadly, her earbuds stopped working. And her backup wasn't in its hiding spot. Probably the Terrible Twos hording it in a stash. Or Jasper made off with them to make some sort of statue. "Trust me, if it was an addiction or someone on my hit list, you'd be the first to know."
**
Gem looked up at her mate. Felt his body heat rise as the flames within him grew hotter. She knew the sight of Tayla and JJ was hard on him, because it was hard on her. Every time she saw babes - even her boys, who lived with their uncle Cindimir and cousin Sapphira - her heart clenched and a longing filled her gaze. A parent never got over the loss of a child.
There was a language that, over the years, Gem and Aiden developed. It was silent, and exclusively only for them. They knew each other inside and out. It helped when his shift came every month. She brought their joined hands up to her lips, and pressed them against his digits. She didn't even have to speak through the telepathic link they had with each other to tell him what she was thinking. "I know. I feel it too." She kept her gaze on his face, taking in the brilliance of his irises and how the runes demanded attention beneath his tee. All the while she heard the talking. Heard Lupita and Tayla and JJ speak of what happened. Heard Shade sigh.
She only turned her gaze away from Aiden when Lupita spoke to them. "Sounds great," she said, although it was easy to see on her face that she didn't feel like waiting. She's waited and worked to find Lynn and she wanted her here. Now. No matter what the cost.
"Hey, that's great! More family!" Shade said, rather enthusiastically, putting off the punishing because he absolutely hated to punish his children. "I have family for you to meet, too! This is Gem, and her mate - Aiden." Gem stuck out her hand for Lupita to shake, and if she did she would feel the shake to be one of a not-very-delicate woman. "She's my sister."
"Pleasure to meetcha."
"Anyway, that sounds great." Shade nodded his head in his agreement with the punishment. "Helping Kenneth as an apology to him and working for the privilege of TV and games." Then he squated to look his twins in the eye. "You listen to your mother." He looked up at the sound of a family dinner, and the mentioning of Thea coming and being in the same room as Westly, he gave an awkward chuckle. Gramps said he was coming later. Hopefully that would balance things out. On the outside, he stood and turned to the pair behind him. "Wanna join us?"

Aiden smiled at the usage of their language. It had become such a common thing for them that sometimes they forgot to speak in this world's tongue. He pulled their joined hands upwards after she kissed his skin, repeating the gesture and kissing her hand back. He didnt have to say anything else on the matter of the children that were in front of them, for everything was already said.
It hurt to watch them. Gem shared that pain. That was all.
Aiden wanted to know whether or not the Guild could help.
He observed Shade with his mate and children and stayed silent, even if his mind decided to be cruel to him and replace the scene with him playfully scolding his daughter. He couldnt really smile because of the pain, but he was happy for Shade, and he wondered if Shade knew how lucky he was to have his children next to him.
Lynn was missing and his boys were out of this world. Life was cruel to him. He had dragged Gem in his misfortune and there had been days when he wanted to seperate himself away from her-but they both knew that that could never happen. It was hard enough having her leave his side for a mere hours. So they shouldered through the dark shadow that decided to follow him around, and tried making the best of it.
He loved her for it. Most women would have given up by now but Gem wasnt such a weak willed women-no, for she single handedly changed the ways of a Pack that used to never value a woman's existance. She was a warrior. His warrior. He was her beast, hers to command and love. And when his awakening came, he was her ultimate weapon. If only he could soar through the skies and find his baby girl. If only.
Gem spoke to him again through their tongue and he blinked back into reality, watching Gem extend her arm to the woman. He didnt dare to hold out his hand, his skin by this time was close enough to burn someone. Gem...she had gotten used to the intensity of his skin. For she held him in his true form. If she could hold him in that-this was barely a spark. But for others, it would make them repel as fast as being burn against a stove.
He did, however, smile. "Pleasure to meet you." His accent was out of this world. No one could put a finger to it and they shouldnt, since it was out of this world. It was low and deeper than most, and exotic. Talking was strange for him in the beggining and even though he had lived here for a few hundred of years, it still sounded off to him. Which was why he prefered not to speak. Unless it was to Gem. He could speak to Gem for hours, or listen to her speak to him for hours.
He glanced at Kai and Alyssa and nodded at them, waiting for their conversation to finish before he finally addressed Shade.
"We'll let you know once we've spoken to this Lena of yours." Then, because Aiden wasnt one to waste time in speaking, he urged Gem on by gently tugging her forward to the waiting room that Lupita had mentioned. He moved with a grace that matched Gem's until they were finally in the waiting room.
Once there, he turned to glance at Gem and in their tongue, spoke: "Do you want to go? You barely know these people and I can feel negative energy surounding them. If you want to go after we figure out if they can find Lynn, I'll go with you. But if not, you dont have to go." He bought their joined fingers to his lips, his breath hot as he breathed out, warming her skin more.
Gem was basically Jewel's twin. Instead of brown eyes like Jewel, Gem had green eyes. Instead of a warmer complexion that Jewel had, Gem was kissed by the sun and like all warriors, Gem had scars. But besides from that, they were twins. There was a difference in scents, for Jewel smelled like lavender and Gem smelled more like ameryllis and smoke (the latter from being too much around Aiden) but most people didnt realize a person's scent until latter.
Aiden had sensed unease here, both by the hostile looks, Shade's unfinished comment, and by his gut feeling. Personally he wanted to speak to Lena and get this over with. Whether or not, Gem wanted to rekindle with her lost family, was all up to her. He'd follow her, but for now, he wanted to find their family. Which was Lynn.

Lena tried to hide the hurt and pain that etched across her face when she so obviously knew that Thea was lying to her and obviously didn't trust her enough to tell her the truth. Lena sighed, rolled her sholders and went back to her work.
##
Lupita couldn't help but notice the longing and sad looks the newcomers had when they stared at her twins and it made her think that they were there to find someone young.
Even without Shade's introduction, Lu could guess would this woman was. She looked exactly like that traitorous, selfish woman. Lu focused on the differences and shook her hand.
"Yeah, she looks a lot like..." Lu trailed off, not wanting to get into painful memories. "Anyway, of course you're welcome to join us for dinner." Lu offered as well. "It's a shame you won't get to meet our eldest or our grandson, but you'll soon meet our middle one, our eldest daughter and then there is the terrible two." Lu chuckled. "Anyway hopefully see you soon."
"But daddddd...it was one prank." JJ exclaimed. "No TV or video games is a bit harsh!" He whined at his father. He watched as the people went into the waiting room and his mother walked off.
##
Lena had a sensor and CCTV to show her the waiting room and the sensor beeped to say that someone was waiting. Lena stopped working and stared at the CCTV screen.
"We have guests. Pack up the plans and let's see what they want." Lena started putting the plans into a box and under the desk. When her desk was clear, she opened her door, which could easily be seen by the waiting room.
"Hello, and Welcome..." Lena stopped and paused, staring at the woman for a second. A million thoughts flashed through her mind. She grew angry and then she paused. It wasn't that woman, she was different. Lena focused on that. "Sorry, you just remind me of someone who has no business being anywhere near here. Sorry, as I was saying, hello and Welcome to my Guild. My name is Selena Warren, sometimes Selena Everett. Won't you please come into my office and we can discuss your reasoning for being here?" Lena asked and walked into her office and sat down being her desk.

"I don't want to go to it, no," Gem stated. She saw how Lupita looked at her. The only person that could illicit such a reaction was Jewel, because they did look similar. She felt not only the negative energy surrounding this place, as Aiden said, but the infinite amount of hatred in the woman's gaze. Although she wasn't hated for having blood relations to Jewel, Gem wasn't about to sit next to people that hated her. "If it were under different circumstances, yeah. But it's not. So no."
A sigh, so heavy the world could be pressing against Gem's chest for it to make her release such a breath, escaped her lips. As always, though, she took comfort in Aiden's body heat. If he wasn't here she'd surely go insane. In her search for Lynn, she'd be completely stone cold. That fire he had within him warmed her, body and soul. Her feelings were more open. Despite her battle scars one could clearly see that she was just a mother, searching for her child.
She's killed a lot less people than she intended looking for their daughter because of Aiden.
When the door opened she turned her head and looked straight on to Selena. Her lips morphed into a thin, grim line at the same looked she received from Lupita. There was a feeling in her stomach, as heavy as a stone, that the reason why she gained looks from the people here wasn't because they were outsiders, but because she looked like Jewel. And Jewel did something in order for her to get such dirty looks.
If only she could ask Jewel what had happened.
She felt the desire to turn around and walk straight out; she was an avid believer in sticking with family, and even though Jewel thinks Gem and Thorn don't exist, she didn't think Jewel would like it too much for going to these people for any help. The pressure she had on Aiden's hand would have crushed bone if he had been human. She was getting irritated. Easily.
But she found Thea's face behind Selena. She was sitting casually on the desk, with her fingers tapping to an unknown beat on her knee. Her head tilted to the left a few degrees, and Thea copied the same motion. "You must be Gem and Aiden," Thea said matter-of-factly. "Panos has told Ma and me a bit about you guys and Shade."
This woman was all Gem needed to walk into the office, this time tugging Aiden in. "I'm guessin' you're Thea then?"
"Yeah. He told you about me?"
"You're a natural with an axe, is what he says." Gem cracked a smile, feeling relaxed with Thea. And she was amused when Thea cracked a smile, too.

Aiden glanced at the opened door and nodded at the woman there. He didn't like the fact that Gem was getting annoyed but when she tugged him inside, the man couldn't help but smile. She was a bossy one, this mate of his. Aiden wouldn't have it any other way.
"Nice to meet you as well." He told Selena, easily matching Gem's stride inside. For a second, he glanced at Thea and the Crest pulsed almost in recognition. The pain was faint but different in its usual pulsing, it confused Aiden since it was such a foreign feeling. Almost as if Thea had been in contact with someone of the same blood as he. Aiden frowned and tried forcing his magic out but he felt the runes blocking him. The runes were cold-too cold in fact that his body temperature dropped down immensely.
Aiden shook his head and waited for the runes to go back to normal until finally his body gradually started to warm up. Gem was talking so he zoned back in and smiled at the axe comment. Then, he held out a chair for Gem, signaling her to sit and took a chair for his own.
He turned back to Selena, "We appreciate The Guild's willingness for a meeting with us. Furthermore, the Dark Lupis Pack extends its gratitude for any assistance or information that will aid us in our search." Aiden bowed his head and after a moment, raised it and grabbed the folder that was in his bag.
He placed it in front of Selena and opened it. There wasn't much inside the folder, a few pictures, a drawing, some documents and all the dead-ends leads that they had. He pointed to the first picture, it was of a newborn in pink. The baby had a small crown of black hair and big green eyes. There was a tinge of purple in those eyes as well as brown but Aiden knew that the purple would probably not be in existence by now. Most dragon child lost the imperial colors when they matured.
"Her name is Lynn Russel. Well, that was her birth name. We have no other pictures of her other than when she was a newborn. Besides from her birth features, black hair, greenish eyes, and a pale complexion, we do not know what she looks like. We only had educated guesses that she looks like us, her parents. She has no distinctive marks-however..." Aiden pulled out the drawing that he had made. It was a exact copy of the Crest of his bloodline. Every dragon had these-depending on their family's clan.
"She might have this mark on her by this time in her life. It's a mark that everyone of my blood will have when they meet their mate. It's like shifters in a way." Aiden shrugged. "We've looked for her for years. We found many leads but as you can see in the folder, they never linked up with Lynn. However we have not given up." Aiden smiled just a tad. "We have reason to believe that she's here. In this city. In this country. Matter of fact, I'm more convinced that she is here after meeting with you two."
He turned to Thea, "You've been in contact with her. I can feel it."

Lena should have realised that they would have been family in one way or another. She didn't like the fact that this woman, Gem, looked exactly like that traitorous woman and Lena tried really hard to look past it.
Lena kept her magic close, a sickening feeling in her stomach that told her that there was magic around these people. She pulled hers back and kept it close enough that you'd really have to look at her to notice it.
Thea knowing them didn't surprise Lena and she just shrugged off their conversation.
"The Guild will always meet with those who need our help. You do know that if we take this assignment, there will be a fee?" Lena asked, making sure that they understood how the Guild worked. They'd get the job done, if it was possible, but they didn't come cheap. "Family ties no longer means free help. We did that once and it ended almost fatally." Lena sighed as she stared at Thea.
Lena took the folder and hummed as she went through the folder. There wasn't a lot of recent stuff and that would prove...annoying. Not impossible though. Lena looked up at the crest and noted it down in her notepad. She would transfer it to computer later.
Lena turned to Thea and gaped. "Well I think you've got some explaining to do." Lena ordered Thea and crossed her arms over her chest.

"Money isn't a problem." Gem shook her head, leaning forward in her chair. It was as if she couldn't wait to get out of here. The tension she felt in this place was a bit unbearable. "Unless you don't take ancient gold coins." Cindimir, Aiden's brother, was a gold-hoarder. Over the years, he's acquired quite a treasure trove. He loved his treasure. But after much pleading for help (monetary or physical help) he reluctantly relinquished quite a few poutches of golden coin.
"Whatever you don't use," he had said grudgingly, "bring it back to me."
Thea couldn't help but laugh at Gem's words. "Ancient gold coins? Is your pack sitting on a pirate's treasure chest?" But Gem shook her head, then smirked.
"Aiden's brother is a collector." She didn't delve too far into it, letting Aiden have the choice to reveal what he was. People tend to shy away from the fact that he's a dragon. "He said he'd help with the cost."
Thea let Selena look through the folder, only taking a glance at the drawing that he had in it. From the brief look, it looked like a tooth. An animal fang, really. She didn't look much into it. Aiden was her object of attention right now. Her arms were crossed, and she looked as if she were of royalty sitting on the desk, letting her subject plead his case to her. Of course, she didn't mean to look so haughty; it was just how she was trained. That stance was still there, even if her expression changed into a look of surprise.
Thea looked from Aiden and Gem, to Selena, then she scoffed. "I haven't had any contact with anyone besides here, the New Dawn, and a few of my friends outside of both places. I highly doubt that Lynn woukld be here, in the Guild. The New Dawn, I've only spoken with the Alpha, and she's not who you're looking for, I can assure you." Then she shook her head and sighed. "And my friends are guys."
"Aiden's never wrong about his feelings," Gem insisted, eyes wide with hope. "Maybe one of your friends had contact with Lynn, and her essence from him just rubbed off on you."

Aiden waited a few moments as Gem spoke and then added to the conversation. "Even if you don't accept the gold, I assure you that we can afford your services in more modern monetary if you wish. We expected a fee and would gladly pay it if it proves promising."
Aiden turned his gaze away from Selena towards Thea. Vibrant imperial purple orbs stared down Thea as Aiden concentrated entirely on the young woman. His body temperature spiked up again as he watched and listened and once again he felt that slight pulse.
"Exactly what I was thinking." Aiden stopped staring at Thea and glanced at Gem, trying to not get excited but even he couldn't hide the glimmer of hope in his gaze. "It's faint. But you've definitely been in contact with someone who's been close with Lynn. Would you mind if I touch you?"
Aiden didn't move just yet, because he knew people didn't enjoy being touched randomly by strangers. He certainly didn't. Mostly because his temperature was too high than normal individuals. Instead, he stayed in his seat and forced his temperature to go down as he explained to the both of them why touch was essential. "Everyone has their own unique essence. I can sense it among other things. If there is contact between us, not only will I be certain if you've been in some kind of contact with my daughter but I might also be able to feel which person it was that had indeed been in contact with her."
"Of course, I would only be able to feel the essence, but I'll describe it to you and you can tell us whom you think it might be. Which in most cases, it's quite easy to guess based on a description. For example, your essence is vibrant but closed off, which means you are a guarded person and it takes a long while for you to open up to people but you're passionate towards those that you've allowed in. Protective and loyal. There's some darkness in there but you're in control of that. It just shows that you can snap if it comes to people you care about. That's just the tip of the iceberg. But for most, that's enough to guess whom it may be."
"Which is why I'm asking for permission for skin contact. It makes it easier for me." Aiden wouldn't have needed skin contact had he had these runes off of his skin, but unfortunately he still did. Which was why he needed a extra push for his magic to kick in.
"Of course, you don't need to accept. However I believe it would assist in finding our daughter." Aiden leaned back against his chair and waited.

Lena looked down at the coins. She had to admit that it wasn't the weirdest way the Guild had been paid. She'd have to ask the accountant what the exchange rate was before deciding if it footed the bill.
"Well I can sure ask our accountant if the exchange rate is good. Its definitely not the weirdest way we've been paid." Lena admitted, scrutinising the coin. She put the money pouches in a box and pressed a button on the table.
"Err, Andy Sands to my office please." Lena said through the intercom and about 10 minutes later a medium height, skinny man with greying black hair and dark eyes came in. "Check the exchange rate on these and let me know please." Lena asked and handed the box to Andy. He nodded and retreated as fast as he had come in.
"Well I've never seen anyone like this before in the Guild and I check them before they come in so I know she isn't here. Must be an outsider." Lena explained. "We might need to look back over everyone you've been in contact with for us to find this little girl." Lena suggested.
Lena looked from Thea to Aiden. "Only if you're okay with it. Don't do it if you still find it uncomfortable." Lena said. Lena would not let them touch her cousin if she didn’t want to be touched. She would have this lot out of here before they could say bye.

Lupita was at home with her brother and his mate and sorting out arrangements for the family dinner. She didn't know if the other guests would be joining them so she set places just in case.
The twins had come back from talking to their father, grumbling as they did and Lu told them to put some old clothes on and head straight to Kenneth, which they did begrudgingly.
Kai sat, watching his sister and her happy life and felt bad that they hadn't had this life. He wished they had a protective mother like she was now and that they got to have afternoons like this. He was sad her life had dark spots, but now that he was here he wouldn't let anymore come.
