Armin had sat in the middle of the fluffy white couch, sinking in to its softness and stretching both his arms and legs out, he squeezed the cushions, testing it‘s comfyness and brought his arms back to shrug at her.
“I don’t know, this is pretty comfy to me, Leonhart.” He raised a eyebrow but then smiled, throwing his hands up in surrender before she could get too bad at him. So no talking, Armin thought, blinking curiously past her again to see the bed because despite all his words, Armin had every intention on sleeping on the bed. Just not alone.
“Also, you’re right. My bad.” Armin scratched at his neck, feeling a sliver of nervousness jump into him. Armin was finally alone with her. After hours of being next to her and not being able to speak. Not when it counted. Now those past opportunities had passed and Armin wondered how and when he’d get a new one. After a couple of days? A week? Half the trip? What if the whole month went on by and their situation didn’t change. When they had to go back to their homeland, would Annie and Armin separate? What would they do at that time? Armin didn’t want to be away from Annie and Marley wasn’t exactly dead, someone could take the reins at any moment.
Armin paused, seeing his book in front of him. He reached out for it and took it, forgetting about it completely until that moment. Armin froze a little, hating that part of him. He looked up at Annie through lowered lids, icy fire boiling under his long lashes. His throat felt dry at that moment as he sucked in her scent, his nose flaring for a moment with desire.
“Thank you.” Armin smiled down at the book, nodding to what she was saying as he flipped through it, looking for the sea picture. Then Armin frowned, not hearing something he liked. “I don’t want to go to sleep.” Armin said it so innocently like a child would complain. He cleared his throat and laughed.
“I’m not tired.” He clarified, finishing his task of looking for the picture. Armin found it a moment later and left it sitting on arm of the couch.
He stood, glanced at the picture and then towards his view.
“Definitely better.” Armin bit his lower lip, turning to face Annie.
“Feel free to take your dip love. Or am I not allowed to say those kind of words now?” Armin winked at her before going towards one of the tables near by, that had a phone there. He dialed the front desk and cooed into the women’s ears.
“Evening ladies, it’s not too late for me to order things right? Oh no? Perfect thank you, you see my wife and I have had a very long day and haven’t had the chance to eat much.” Armin paused, glancing around to look at Annie’s face as he listened to the woman gushing with options.
“Darling?” He called to Annie, “Are you in the mood for seafood, steaks, fruits, chocolates and mashmellows-mmm yummy,” Armin made a soft approving sound both loud enough for Annie to hear and the women who Armin swear just put him on speaker phone.
“Nevermind, ladies anything would be fine tonight. I’m also in the mood to drink and I buy in bottles.” Armin continued to talk to the women, until he got everything he wanted and then thanked them for all their hard work. He put the phone down and made his way towards the bedroom. Armin was finally standing again, he might as well check out the pretty floor.

Annie ended up wanting to ask him about the book and tell him about the things that she thought she was remembering. But the way Armin looked at her, made her face go red and she quickly looked away, flustered, even as a distasteful frown fell on her lips. Why was he still looking at her like that? She figured all of his attraction towards her should have died by now. Armin Arlert was one hell of a confusing man, Annie bitterly realized.
She ended up nodding, agreeing that the view in person was so much more than the picture in the book. She was starting to relax once again, until he continued to talk. He was teasing her, he had to be and Annie found herself frowning in discontent at his words. Her frown only deepened and now she was staring at him with another glare, her hands crossed in front of her and a deep disapproving frown as he continued to tease her.
She tilted her head as he called out for her, growling at the pet names. Was he doing this to get another reaction out of her? She didn't know but she felt anger burn suddenly through her as his attention and words shifted over to the lady on the phone. She could hear the bitch basically drooling for him and her frown deepened into a scoff, feeling disgusted at the exchange. Annie would die before saying she was jealous, especially over Armin Arlert, but there was definitely a bitter taste in her mouth by the time the call ended.
She glared harder at him as he passed by her, thinking that he must have felt proud of himself. She wanted to wipe that stupid ass smug look off of his face and suddenly as he passed her, she casually held her leg up and kicked at the area behind the knee he had planted on the floor, knowing that if he hadn't expected it, gravity would take over and he would end up on the floor. Hearing his knees hit the carpeted living room, she reached back for his hair and grabbed a fist full, feeling satisfied with her grip, she slowly turned around and yanked backwards.
Once he was forced to look up, she lowered her face until it was a couple of inches above his own. She took a moment to study him with her hardened gaze, taking in everything she had deprived of herself before and swallowed the lump in her throat that had formed the moment she had touched him. "I don't know what you're thinking but it isn't funny Arlert." She hissed angrily, body burning in a rage that only came from jealousy.
Except Annie was hardheaded enough to not understand that she was jealous and that's why she was mad at him. "When they come why don't you leave the food and your stupid ass bottle here and leave with them instead." She hissed out letting go of him before angrily marching out into terrace, making her way across the lower one, then back up until she was in front of the welcoming pool.
She frowned and took off her clothes, exposing a pair of deep blue lacey bralette and matching boyshorts. The thing was too flashy for her liking but she swore it was the most modest pair the store had to offer at the time. She threw her clothing off to the side, near one of the lounge chairs and sat in front of the pool, slowly dipping her feet in as she continued to glare out at the ocean.

Armin saw dark and light water rushing underneath the bedroom. The sight was pretty and Armin felt drawn to the floor, wanting to lay upon it and listen to the gush of water moving. Armin was about to say something when Annie tripped him and he fell toward. Groaning at the sudden impact, Armin lifted his head to glare at Annie and twitched visibly when the damn woman grabbed on his hair, loosening it from its low ponytail and yanking him up slightly.
“Fuck Annie.” Armin growled low even as she snapped at him. He didn’t think she would have gotten so annoyed with him over a few pet names and a little teasing. But there must have been something he had missed or didn’t calculate correctly because Annie’s scent definitely spiked with a fiery tinge now.
Armin inhaled the new scent, and it left him breathing harder. His cock twitched even as Annie told him to go off with the receptionists, which why would he even want that? When her eyes were burning and her scent feisty and Armin was starting to like Annie’s tight grip on his hair. His neck was stretched out in this position and his veins throbbed, as if craving for something. Her teeth, Armin thought, needing her to complete the marking.
Armin groaned when Annie finally let him go, ran his hands through his hair, and glared at her retreating form.
“That wasn’t funny.” He called after her, even though Annie had already disappeared from his sight. At least from this room. Armin got up from the carpet which was as soft as the couch. Annie hadn’t exactly hurt him and after what Armin had done? Not now but back in that cage? He’d stay he deserved it.
Armin left her alone as he took in the bedroom, taking off his collar shirt and leaving it on the bed. Then Armin took off his socks and paused for a moment, not knowing where to place it. Everywhere was so clean and well socks after a long day were to Armin dirty. He decided to leave it in the corner of the bathroom and took a moment to splash some water on his face.
Armin sighed, staring at himself and his messy hair courtesy of Annie. He rolled his neck, checking the time, and then moved to go back into the bedroom. His eyes caught on skin and Armin paused, seeing through the glass doors, past one of the terraces to the pool where Annie was at. Annie was taking off her clothes and Armin had a lovely view of her back profile. From her tight ass to the soft curve along her body, wearing matching lacy blue underwear.
Armin stood transfixed as she lowered herself into the pool, until that luscious body disappeared from sight. Armin gripped the door, wanting to go towards her immediately but held back. Armin would need a drink before anything else. His head, where Annie had grabbed him, started to pulse in time with his heartbeat.
Armin left the bathroom, padding on barefoot and enjoying the cool sensation of glass under his feet. Next was the carpet as Armin investigated the rest of the cabin, wanting to get comfortable with what he would call home for the month.
About fifteen minutes later there was a knock and Armin relaxed seeing that it was a man who brought their food and drinks. Giving them a menu for later use and asking if he could do anything else. Armin said no, gave him a tip, and closed the door. Making sure it was locked.
He checked out the food, seeing the different kinds of chocolates, marshmallows, fruits, and little sandwiches, he pop a blackberry into his mouth, enjoying the sweetness. Armin had gotten a few different bottles, whites and darks, and even a few options as a chaser. Armin didn’t know if Annie drank and didn’t want her to go too overboard with herself. Armin fixed himself a cup of dark liquor, not in the mood for it to be mixed. He drank the cup and poured himself another, hearing soft sounds of water lapping. Armin swallowed his next cup, feeling the liquor burn down his throat. Armin drank before but not enough that it didn’t affect him.
Armin took a minute as he stared at the rolling tray of food and drinks, but there was no way around it. He’d have to take two trips. Which was fine, Armin thought, as he grabbed the extra cup and tray of ice and made his way towards the plunge pool. Armin ignored Annie as he put the stuff down on the little table by the back. Escaping back to the living room to get the rest of the stuff until Armin brought most of the drinks, the fruit plate, and the chocolates with marshmallows.
Finally Armin turned to face her, still dressed in his tank top and shorts. “Do you drink?” Armin was curious for her answer even as he poured himself another glass.

Annie had busied herself with the pool, walking along the edges of it, she realized it was about three feet towards the walls, dipping deeper towards the middle. The deepest it went was five feet, because it had completely covered the top of her head. She was wet now, her hair clinging to her cheeks as she looked out over into the sea. The whole placement of the water felt surreal to her and Annie struggled moving in the water a bit, having not really swam before.
It took her a bit but she learned how to float easily and by the time Armin came back out and tried talking to her, she was floating in the center of the pool, one hand lazily pressed against her stomach and the other one outstretched across the water. Her hair was floating above her in a wild halo and she hadn't really been pleased with the fact that her underwear was see through except for the small patch of dark blue fabric around the area of her nipple and towards her core, everything else completely exposed under a delicate design of the lace.
Still, she hadn't tried covering herself, finding herself loving the feeling of her nakedness under the shine of what felt like a thousand stars. She felt shameless until Armin came back out and asked her if she drinks. "No, never. I don't know how other soldiers do it but I've never been one to risk my life like that, by being handicapped in battle." She answered automatically, dipping into the water so she could stand on the shallower side.
She moved down, until only her shoulders showed above water level and moved over to grab one of the towels that sat on a rack, conveniently close to the edge of the pool. With a hum, she pulled herself out of the water and quickly wrapped the large towel around her chest, curling the edges under so it would stay in place. "It doesn't matter, right? Because we're safe." She said, talking mainly to herself as she sat on a lounge table near the platters and Armin. She grabbed the large white bottle, the one Armin hadn't drank from and poured herself half a cup.
Placing the bottle down, she compared the liquid level to the darker bottle and frowned, realizing Armin had already drank more than that, she huffed and poured more of the white liquid until the bottle was near the emptiness his showed. Looking at the sandwich on the tray as she brought her glass up to her lips, she realized she hadn't eaten in more than twelve hours.
Shrugging, she bit her lower lip slowly before bringing the strong smelling liquid into her mouth and practically gulping it down. She tasted the bitterness and the burn, but it kept her drinking more and not wanting to prolong the experience by taking smaller gulps. Once she took her last swallow, she shivered roughly, hissing and coughing at the strong after taste. "How do people just drink this so casually?" She asked, body still reacting horribly to the taste.
She felt embarrassed that she sounded like such a child and quickly masked her displeasure. "It's not so bad," She added quickly, sticking her tongue out. She plopped a piece of chocolate into her mouth, feeling oddly warm as she did so. Almost immediately she could feel the warmth in her stomach expanding out, vision slightly unsteady. "Oh, I most definitely shouldn't have done that." She said with a small chuckle, looking down at her wet legs as she silently concentrated on the feeling of the alcohol in her stomach, and how the warmth extended down her legs and across her shoulders.

Armin watched as Annie floated, water gliding over her body as she bobbed gently in the water. The water teasingly exposing her skin and then covering her in water, then exposing once more. Armin felt the need to drink and sipped at his drink, greedily taking in the lovely shape of her legs and chest before she dipped into the water, hiding herself. Armin glanced away but kept her in sight from his peripheral, watching Annie drip with water, her body all for him to see for a split second before the towel covered it all up. Armin grunted, not thinking there had been towels out here and kinda wanting to see more. No who was he kidding? Armin craved to see more, every since their little episode in the motel where she had been wrapped in only her towel.
Armin nodded, finally finding his voice. “We’re safe.” He agreed, taking his seat and enjoying the night’s breeze ruffling his hair. Armin heard her tinkling with the platters and bottles and peek at her before openly staring.
“Umm Annie,” Armin saw the full glass, no chaser, no ice, and widened his eyes as she drank it all. Worriedly, he leaned forward, wincing at her coughs. “Damn girl,” Armin chuckled shaking his head at her. “I’ve never seen a beginner drown a cup like that. Most dont,” Armin couldn’t help his continued laugher, “Oh Annie, you shouldn’t drink it straight like that for your first time. And you should eat some sandwiches so you don’t throw up later. Which you don’t want.” Armin pushed the platter towards her and went about fixing her next cup. He added ice, the Bacardi, some of the pineapple chaser and stirred it up with one of the straws. It was still strong but would taste fruity, like a perfect beach drink.
“These will taste better and still have the desired effect.” Armin winked, leaving her cup alone and picking one of the sandwiches. They were small but there was plenty. Armin ate in silence, feeling his gaze drawn to Annie as she faced away from him. Armin liked the sight of her wet hair, rarely seeing it, as it clung to her face. Armin’s eyes drifted lower, taking in her snowy white skin, delicate shoulders, the lacy blue straps of her bra, her long bare legs stretched out on the chair, Armin made a low sound, reaching for his drink and finishing it.
His body felt hot, three glasses of alcohol enough for Armin to start feeling the effects. He poured himself another, adding ice this time, and then just a bit of coke. Armin didn’t want Annie to not do the chasers because he simply chose not to. Armin also liked the hint of coke.
“Feeling a little better?” He asked, worried with the amount she had drank. Armin took a long mouthful and placed the cup down. Still sitting down, Armin pulled his shirt off and dropped it at his feet. He was going to try out the pool in a moment. Armin reached for some white chocolate and let it melt on his tongue before swallowing, his eyes drifting towards Annie’s exposed neck, where his mark peeked at him from underneath her ends.
Armin opened his mouth to ask her about it but snapped it shut a second after. His questions could wait. Armin didn’t want to spoil Annie’s first time at drinking. He got up, finishing his cup, before pulling his shorts down, wearing black boxers. Armin kicked his shorts on top of his shirt, taking his bottle and walking lazily to the pools edge. Armin sat down, letting his feet dangle in the warm water, staring out into the sea. It was like the pool and the sea combined, Armin couldn’t tell where the glass divider was, and felt the urge to explore.
He glanced back at Annie and raised the bottle to her. “Don’t go too crazy over there.” Armin warned, popped the top off and took a long swig. Then two others before putting the cap back on and stepping forward, the water rushed over him and Armin went as far as he could, until he was shoulder deep and leaning on the glass, staring into the sea. Armin laughed and went on his back, taking in all the stars and feeling his body burning and his vision slightly dazed. It had been a while since he last drank and was definitely starting to feel it now. More so as the water rushed against his head, making Armin feel lighter and in a playful mood.

Annie's eyes had slowly wondered across the deck, towards Armin's slim but fit legs, up his knees, over his covered chest, the slowly to his face. She didn't think he could tell she was looking at him, too busy looking her over. There was a faint hint of pink across his soft cheeks and the tip of his cute ass nose. A nose she didn't even really know why she liked so much, but his face was so soft and delicate looking that Annie couldn't help but always lap up greedily with her eyes.
He had been so insecure about his figure back as a teenager. Even his height had been something he had not liked, but she really liked all those insecurities. at least at some point he must have had a sudden growth spurt, being at least seven inches taller than her. Annie felt a little uncomfortable as his eyes explored, but she realized it was manageable, not feeling the disgust she would have felt if it was anyone else. This is how it was, she realized, Armin did things so innocently that Annie should be bothered. But it was him, and Annie was always so surprised when she realized that she in fact she didn't mind at all.
His voice was nice against the echoing backdrop of the ocean water, like a calming yet strong force, and Annie actually found herself laughing at his wink. She had felt so calm and content and there he went, doing something that would typically make her blood boil. It was funny now though, most likely because of the buzz that pleasantly traveled through her body, but Annie told herself that this was too nice for her to ruin with her attitude. It was too hard to fight him all the time too. She really just wanted to be done fighting- for the night at least.
She moved her hands against her hair, pulling the lose wet wavy strands behind her ear before grabbing the cup that Armin had carefully made for her. She brought it up to her nose, smelling the pineapple and then took a couple of gulps of it, testing it. She made a sound of approval in her throat and smiled as she swallowed. "I'm just trying to match your energy." She teased, but she could already hear the weightlessness in her voice, and how every stress suddenly lifted off of her heart and shoulders. This was nice, she noted, really really nice.
She took Armin's advice and ate a sandwich as he got undressed, eyes glancing over at him as she did so. Annie's never seen him with so little clothing on and she felt like Armin was contagious because now she was the one who just hungrily lapped up every detail she could see. The tone of his back, the hard muscles he hid well under his shirt, the dip down to his boxers. He had absolutely nothing to be insecure, he was drop dead gorgeous to her.
She made a noise in her throat and turned back around to give her attention to the fruits that laid perfectly on the platter. Her hand going to her neck to scratch at it lightly before she decided to grab a slice of watermelon and eat it as well.
She laughed when he told her not to go overboard and decided to pour herself half a glass over the ice and drink it slowly, it didn't taste as bad as it did the first time, besides the small burn at the end, the liquid went down like water. Eating another piece of chocolate, she watched him for a bit before deciding to join him. Standing up, she realized her equilibrium was most definitely off but tried to stay steady as she moved over to his discarded tank top. Dropping the towel, she put on the tank top before moving back over to the pool. The last thing she needed was for him to stare at her tits all night or her ass crack, which at this point, with how hungry his eyes had gotten and how daring he was, she wouldn't put it past him.
She moved over to him once she was back in the surprisingly warm pool water and sighed happily as she looked out into the sea. "Can I tell you something?" She found herself asking, surprising herself. "I know you had to mark me because of the situation, I thought about it and it was a very smart but ballsy move and I'm thankful that you did it because it means that we're both here, now. I think I'm starting to remember things," She paused, scratching her head as she took another easy gulp of the alcohol. "Actually I think I'm making shit up in my head to cope with things, you know? But when it happens, it feels like a memory and it's kind of confusing because I would have remembered these things, right? Or you would have told me but..."
She blushed, realizing she had been rambling. With her icy blue eyes glued to the sea, she continued. "I remember the book and promising to be here with you, it's all I guess I was trying to say." She took another couple of big gulps to mask her embarrassment and decided to move to the edge of the pool to place her bottle down. She was definitely feeling it and it took some work for her to feel steady. She lifted herself up to move the bottle, shirt glued to her body like a second skin and she let out a small splash with her feet as she tried lowering herself back down into the pool.

Armin ran his fingers through the pool, enjoying the feel of rushing water against his skin. He scoffed at Annie’s remark about keeping up with him and hid a smile. Staring at the stars Armin wondered why they always had to compete with each other, it had been this unspoken thing between them. Least for him, Armin had always been competing with Annie since his training days, trying to get as good as the cold quiet woman. It had taken years for Armin to finally catch up and in many ways, he still felt like he wasn’t as great of a fighter as Annie. He knew it had to do with Marley, training Annie to be the best soldier she could be and dedicate her to the cause.
Armin growled at the thought, a part of him not wanting to be in this Paradis, relaxing where he should be back home destroying what was left of the group. It should have been easy enough, taking out one of its leaders and using the confusion to kill the rest. At this that branch. Armin would need more information and he realized Annie would have to talk to him about it. If she didn’t say anything, if Marley survived, how many more people would have to suffer?
Armin dipped, stopping from his floating and turning towards Annie. He paused, watching her put his shirt on, and the thoughts in Armin’s mind flew off, distracted by the sight. Armin liked seeing Annie in his clothes, she looked good and right in them. He swallowed, feeling his face flushing from the alcohol and nerves, and watched as Annie joined him. The water making the tank top see through and sticking to Annie’s sweet body like a second glove. Armin could still see the blue from underneath and it only intensified his attraction to her.
“Hmm?” Armin hummed, moving around Annie as she went towards the sea. He reached for his bottle, feeling a slight need to keep up with Annie now. Armin rolled his eyes at that, he would always be competing with the little girl from next door.
Armin drank slowly as Annie asked him her question, at first happy that they were talking normally with each other then getting annoyed at what she was saying. Armin was about to cut her off and tell her that wasn’t the only reason why, the main one yes, but there was more to it. When Annie said she was remembering things, Armin felt his chest seize up with hope.
By the time Annie was done, Armin was staring at her with soft eyes and a little smile. He waited till she came towards the edge where Armin still waited and gently touched her wrist, stopping her from going too far. Armin put the bottle back, having drank enough while she spoke. Armin stared at his hand on her arm, feeling her warm skin even through the water, and quickly let her go. Bringing his hand up to touch his neck and looking briefly away.
“You’ve brought up a lot of things I’ve been meaning to talk to you about.” Armin started, his chest warm, bringing his gaze back to settle on her. Armin moved through the water, staying close.
“I didn’t have time to tell you before but after meeting Magath that first night and I think because of the drugs, I had dreams of my childhood.” Armin spoke quickly, wanting to get some things said before it made Annie angry. “I couldn’t remember it until then, just bits of my parents, but I saw you. As a little girl. We would meet up at that big tree in the clearing? Look at the book, talk and play, normal kid stuff. I’m pretty sure we were neighbors back then. One day we got chased by a feral animal, a coyote im sure now, and fell off a cliff. My father probably escaped that night with us.” Armin paused, gauging her reaction.
“And the marking?” His eyes felt drawn to her neck and Armin could see the faint scarring of his teeth. “You’re right. My wolf did it to gain control but only because it knows how I feel about you. Annie don’t you see? I’ve been with you since we were kids and there’s been no one else for me. I-“ Armin stopped himself, seeing a warning sign flickering in her eyes.
“What I’m trying to say,” Armin finally spoke again after a tense moment, staring at the sea around them. “Is thank you for keeping our promise. This is great, I would never had gone to a place like this by myself. I’m glad I’m getting to see it with you.”

"So that's why you didn't tell me?" She asked softly, happy that he hadn't kept secrets from her. She felt that if he had known about their past and failed to mention it to her this whole time, she wouldn't be able to trust him. Then, there would be nothing to talk about and she would have no one left. Annie had done everything she had done for the sake of her father.
She fought and she became stronger and she became a Titan just for him. Just because he had wanted and she knew no one else. She had no reason to not follow his orders. But now that she was dead, she supposed Armin was the only person that knew her and maybe that's why she held on so tightly to him, even when she knew she shouldn't.
Slowly, she laid her head against the concrete around the pool, her body gliding up behind her until she was floating that way, legs moving under the water to keep herself up. She was facing Armin when she talked. "I ended up in a coma, you know? When we fell. My brain started bleeding and months after I struggled to walk and be able to move on my own." With a pause, she moved her chin so that she was facing forward, looking at the bottle between them. "I wonder if I should have just died then. Then maybe you wouldn't have gone through what you did."
She let him talk then, looking back over at him and glaring harshly when he got ahead of himself. She wasn't ready to talk about that, but he pushed. Roughly, she straightened out in the pool and grabbed her bottle, chugging down more of the liquid until the burning was too much and she felt her head swaying. "You know what?" She spat out, suddenly in a bad mood. "Liking someone doesn't mean you-you get to say and do whatever you want." Her words where slightly slurred, accent thick, and she was for the most part pretty damn sure that she was drunk now.
"I get it okay? You like me. Well I like spaghetti and you don't see me risking my life and putting myself into stupid ass situations just for it because what you did was pretty damn stupid."
She moved towards him, looking into his eyes and not letting him move away or avoid her. "Liking me and going to Marley is the absolutist dumbest shit you can possibly do and you act like you don't regret it. You ended up getting drugged, fucked with, and you should have died when he fed you that drug. What you became, Armin, It's not even possible and I can't wrap my mind around it either. Doesn't it scare you? Because It fucking scares me!"
She huffed, taking another gulp of her drink. "I am Marley, Armin." She said, lowering her gaze and rubbing her temple. She hadn't meant to go off on him and she was sure she wasn't a bad drunk. It was just the topic. "I am a soldier of Marley and therefore an enemy. Like Magath, like those guards, like everyone you think deserves to pay. I am a Devil of Marley and I've never been anything else and I will never be anything else. So please stop looking at me like that because it's literally driving me insane."

Armin leaned against the wall where Annie was, keeping his back to it and looking at her as he moved slightly, enjoying the water still. “I didn’t want to say anything that could be used against us.” A part of Armin hadn’t been ready to believe it either, wondering if it was just a after effect from the words Magath had been spewing and the drugs. If Armin had imagined the whole thing, not knowing what was fantasy and reality. But as the days went by, especially during his weekend alone, Armin had been able to remember even more about their past. Armin had been born there, at Marley, his earliest memory being his forth birthday party. From then on, Armin had a good two years of day to day life that he could recall. Annie. His parents. The forest. The other kids and adults. It had all come back to Armin.
He kept still as Annie confirmed what Magath had told him, after the fall. Armin still felt responsible for it, “I should have noticed sooner where we were running to. I knew there was a cliff there but I couldn’t think. I was too scared.” Armin cupped some of the pool water and splashed at his face, sighing as the warm water washed away his nerves.
“Don’t talk like that.” Armin snapped at Annie, not even wanting to think about the possibility of her having died that day. Or ever for that matter. Armin shook his head at her, picking up on her anger and feeling his own growing.
He waited till Annie was done and moved forward, until only a inch of warm water flowed between them. Armin growled out his words, his tone low and dangerous. Angry even. “You think I don’t know that? You think I’m doing everything I want to do? No I’m fucking holding back because I understand that I can’t do shit to you, yes I marked you, but since then? Have I ever done anything to you Annie? Don’t count what happened in the cage because I wasn’t in control. Yes it was me. But it wasn’t Annie. You think what I am doesn’t scare me?” Armin scoffed angrily, knowing that he was going back and forth between subjects but not caring. His mind was a mess and he wanted to respond to everything she had said and whatever popped out was the first thing coming to mind.
“I’m not even a fucking real shifter. I have two shifts? And I’m not dead from it? Yes I went there looking for you but what I saw? It became personal for me. It wasn’t just about you Annie. As much as I liked you, there was something about that place that I absolutely hated and had to get rid of. I know why now. Because I was fucking one of them. But I managed to get away. Some fucked up part of me still remembered it and I stayed. I stayed for months until I found something useful. Until I started accomplishing things. Felt like I was doing something finally. Until I messed up. But you know what?” Armin paused, knowing he was ranting for real this time but Annie had started it.
“I don’t fucking care!” He raised his voice, going so far as to grab her shoulders. He held them tightly, not letting her leave him. “Because it got me deep enough to find you. Because I got my memories back. I don’t care that it was stupid. Life is a lot of things Annie and sometimes you have to do something stupid. To live. Not to die Annie, we’re all going to have to die at one point but you shouldn’t wish for it when it’s not your time.”
He rubbed at her shoulders, just his thumb working against tight muscles. “You’re different Annie. Honestly I see how you act around other people, you might not like them but you’re not a Devil. You turned out with so much good in you despite all the shit you had to endure. If I had stayed there? I probably would have turned out like Derek or Magath.” Armin let her go, feeling like he had touched her more than enough than she wanted him to.
“Look,” Armin ran a hand through his hair, narrowing his eyes down at her. “You can feel however type of way you want to but don’t think I’m going to feel the same way. I don’t see a Devil in front of me, I see Annie Leonhart, a woman who had to grow up all too soon and do whatever it took to survive. Everything else can go fuck itself, if you won’t forgive yourself Annie, I’ll pardon all your sins. You have a chance to really live now, why won’t you take that step? Because it’s with me? Then don’t be with me Annie. Fuck! Reject me, push me away, never see me again, but please start living for yourself babygirl.”

Annie wanted to run away again, she was good at that. At running and hiding all the bad things that went thorough her head. She shook a little bit when he moved towards her, yelping when he grabbed her, but being stunned at his anger and finding herself immobilized at that. Armin was throwing too much at her and Annie couldn't process half of the words in her semi-drunk stupor.
She stumbled in the water backwards when he let her go, eyes filling with tears and chin quivering with suppressed emotions and she felt so tired. So fucking tired. Letting out a small smile, she laughed at his words and brought a hand up, quickly ready to punch his stupid cute cheek. At the last moment though, she opened her hand and lightly just placed it on his cheek, fingers caressing the warm flesh there before pulling away.
"Live my life a little?" She laughed louder now, seriously finding him hilarious. "Live my life a little!" Once again she laughed, tears burning her eyes as they started forming there on her own. She frowned, attempting to stop her chin from quivering but when she realized she couldn't control this outburst of emotions she simply stepped away from Armin. "Fine, you want me to tell you what I'm really thinking? No bullshit? Well here goes."
She paused, looking off to the side, before rolling her eyes and looking back at him with a shake of her head. "Where do you think this pile of money came from? Or that green car? Or the clothes that you ended up wearing? I know Marley is bad, but it's my fucking home. The last thing I have left Armin. But even then, I planned on leaving, with my father, and I fucking starved to make sure that bag was full enough for us to finally make it out and have everything we could possibly need." Her face was red now, eyes blurred with tears.
"I was trying to live for myself then, I starved and even with income from the pack to help support me on my missions I practically did all that while living in the streets so that me and my father could have something in the future- so I could have a future. Marley is terrifying but it's my home and what do you think would have happened if I hadn't met you in New Dawn and you would have met me in Marley? I would be rotting in a field right now."
She sighed, her voice tight. "And the most fucked up thing is that I lost him but I still want to go back to Marley because it's all I know. All I know is how to fight, spy, be a soldier. Without Marley I feel so useless, Armin. Without Marley I don't know who I am." Tears where unwillingly falling down her face by now and she snacked them away angrily.
"Annie Leonhart is nothing without Marley and you can argue and think that that's stupid but all I am without them is a girl with a bad attitude and a good kick. I mean, I don't even have a favorite color. I don't have a hobby or anything that I like to do when I'm on my own. I don't even own a pair of clothing or jewelry or even a fucking pen that I'm attached too. I don't know how to be polite or talk to people or dress accordingly for shit. I don't even have a favorite food."
She was talking now, without thinking. "I'm... Literally nothing." She laughed, "Marley is what makes me something. I can't reject you because I don't want too. But I can't accept you because it isn't right. You're so fucking smart, you're so much Armin... So fucking much that I can honestly tell you that I'm not the one you're meant to be with. But selfishly, I like looking at you even if I'm being mean and I know it's all confusing, but I love you. Actually, I'm pretty damn sure that I'm in love with you and even though I know I have these feelings for you that I've never had before, I don't even know what love is. Or what I'm supposed to do with it." She shrugged, grabbing the bottle and lifting herself out of the pool.
"Fuck this, dude." She said with a weak laugh. "I'm out."

Armin could see that his words had made Annie get emotional, seeing the fresh tears suddenly appearing in her eyes. He clenched his fingers at the sight, Armin hadn’t wanted to make her cry god dammit, and the sight of those tears in such a relaxing beautiful setting felt wrong. Gods he was a ass but Armin had been wanting to say most of those things for a long time coming now. He paused, seeing her hand coming towards him. Armin gritted his teeth, readying himself for the incoming slap or handful of hair being pulled, but then relaxed when all Annie did was touch him. Her hand was cool against Armin’s heated cheeks, he closed his eyes savoring the sensation of Annie willingly touching him for the few seconds it lasted.
Armin listened to her speak then, all while his heart hurt for her. It was all understandable what she was feeling and the solution to all her problems was so simple Armin didn’t know why she couldn’t just see it. She was just so stubborn, Armin thought, feeling his earlier anger spark again, and watched as she tried running away. His fingers twitched and Armin found himself moving after her.
“Annie, Annie stop.” Armin grabbed Annie from behind, his large hands coming over the wet shirt, fingers gripping her heated skin and pulling her back against his chest and into the water. Armin wrapped his arms around her stomach, locking her in place and leaning his chin on her shoulder. Water splashed around them and Armin sighed against Annie’s body, trying to not appreciate how fucking good she felt against him. That wasn’t why he had did this.
“All those things you don’t know about yourself? Figure it out, be more than what they trained you to be. Get a favorite color, a favorite pen, favorite food, watch shit, maybe there might be a show you like, get to know yourself, your likes and dislikes. Annie you’re making it harder than it has to be for yourself. You like things, you can’t act like you don’t with me. I bet there’s so much things you’ll end up liking, if you just try.” Armin licked his lips, staring at her side profile and seeing her red eyes.
“You say you’re nothing, but even nothing has the capability to become everything. So be everything Annie. Everything you want to be. In my eyes? You’re already so much more, if you can just stop bringing yourself down, see what you’ve accomplished despite being in that hellhole-sacrificing all your life and finally achieving your goal. It’s so funny to me that you think you’re nothing after all of this. That you think we’re not right for one another. I find it also hilarious that you think you can run away from me after telling me you love me? I was about to say that back there. You beat me to it. Which isn’t fair. And I’m no expert at the feeling either but we don’t have to be.”
Armin loosened his grip on Annie, his hands on her hips and turning her to face him in the water. He cupped her face, pushing back the stray bangs and stared into her lovely eyes. Armin did the stupidest thing he could do at that moment. He bent down and kissed Annie fully, tasting her bottom lip and with a hand on her back, pushing her towards him until Annie was snug against his chest. Armin’s fingers slipping into her wet hair, careful to not tug on any loose strands. Annie’s lips tasted sweet and dark and Armin felt his body perk up, her taste, still so innocent, making Armin burn with need.

Annie kicked out, fighting against him when he grabbed her, but the water made her a little sloppy and she found herself giving up soon after. His hands burned against her skin and Annie found herself unknowingly press back against him, laying the back of her head against his shoulder and looking up at the sky as he talked. "You're such a sad romantic, have you tried the hobby of writing a book?" She asked dryly but somewhat sarcastically.
What he was saying was getting to her and she could feel angry tears rolling hotly down the sides of her face. She hadn't meant to say everything that she did and even through her frustrations and pity, Armin was forever understanding. It was honestly infuriating. But she didn't think it was fair to him that she got mad at him all the time because he was always so fucking right.
And Annie felt like she needed to have this conversation when she was sober. When she would be able to fight all his logic with her stupid well placed facts so he couldn't weasel his way into her heart like this and into her mind. But why did everything always have to feel so perfect with him? Why did he always have to get her feeling so emotionally naked that she could die any minute from embarrassment? Back at the hotel he had, then back at Marley, and now here.
She could literally say no to him and he would be able to convince her that what she meant to say was yes and she would believe him. He was a trickster with his fucking words. Now Annie felt like she needed to pull her usual shit, deflect with humor. "You say all these things are funny but I don't see you laughing." She said shrugging and once again trying to move away from him but not being allowed to do so.
So she settled for letting him touch her, not really minding and she stared into his eyes a bit defiantly. Annie was about to say something else that would come off as extremely sarcastic but he chose that moment to kiss her. Annie blinked, eyes going wide, and she honestly allowed him to get a good kiss in before pulling back and slapping him hard across his beautiful damn face, hand stinging at the impact.
Wiggling out of his hands, she swam back a couple of feet and covered her mouth with her hand, completely shocked at her own actions. Eyes wide and cheeks red, she pulled her hand away from her lips to squeak out a quick, "I didn't mean to do that." followed by a quick, "I think I'm drunk?" She didn't know which excuse she wanted to use but she had most definitely not seen that coming.
Her eyes shined as she held back a surprised laugh, still holding her hand to cover her mouth. She really hadn't meant that but it was so surprisingly funny to her that she really couldn't stop her laughter. Yeah, she was definitely drunk and she found herself pulling her hands away from her mouth, grinning mischievously. With a cocky and playful roll of her eyes, she giggled. "But I bet you won't dare to do that again, huh?" She wanted to apologize, so she squeaked out a short "Sorry," that really didn't seem honest because the moment she looked at the pink swollen welt on his face, she laughed again.
Sobering up from her laughter any tilted her head to the side. "Okay, okay, it wasn't that funny and it wasn't fair. How about this..." She moved her hands under the water, taking off his shirt and throwing it to the side. "Touch me, anywhere you'd like, I won't hit you I promise."

Once Armin’s lips touched Annie’s, the need to taste more of her filled him. Armin found himself licking at her lower lip, wanting to gain entrance so he could taste her fuller but next thing Armin knew, Annie slapped him. He groaned out, both from the stinging pain and the sudden loss of her hot lips. Armin cupped some of the water and patted his tingling cheek, glaring over at Annie for moving away and for laughing at him.
“What’s so funny.” He snapped, worrying for a moment that his kiss had been the thing Annie had laughed at. His blue eyes were dark with desire, the gold sparking as Armin fought to control his need to touch her. The dam had broken with that one small kiss, all of Armin’s feelings and desires were bursting through him, wanting Annie more than ever. One taste of her sweet and sultry mouth and Armin was already hard. He needed to kiss her again. Touch her. Feel her luscious curves and warm skin until she begged for him. Armin wanted Annie soft and willing underneath him as he took what was his.
“What? You think I won’t?” Armin said angrily, but it lost most of its bite at the sight of Annie grinning. Really how could Armin stay mad at a face like that? His eyebrow raised and he slowly made his way to her, taking his time to roll his eyes at her taunting and pause when she pulled off his shirt. Revealing more of that warm skin that Armin needed to touch. Her next words made Armin’s lip twitch, whether it was because he wanted to smile or because he wanted to growl, Armin didn’t know.
“Anywhere I like?” Armin gave Annie a pointed stare, his eyes drifting down from her eyes, to her lips, down the swells of her breasts, then lower under the water.
“You’ll punch me if I do that.” But Armin moved closer, not able to las up such a offer. “For how long?” He whispered, pausing once he was near. Armin reached out, his hands underneath the water, and grabbed her thighs. Armin rubbed his hands against it, feeling her warm skin and the warm water, sliding his fingers up Annie’s sides, across from her stomach then up again, his fingers brushing underneath her breasts, Armin pulled back, using only one finger to travel up the valley between her breasts until his fingers tucked under Annie’s chin, lifting her face up so she’d stare into his eyes.
“What about kissing? Will kissing get me slapped again?” Armin licked his lips, his eyes drifting back down to hers. Still holding her chin up, Armin used his thumb to rub against Annie’s lips, taking full advantage of his touching rights. He would have done more but knew she would kill him.
“Such soft lips.” Armin sighed, letting Annie hear his need, “You tasted so sweet, here I thought there be a little more spice with how much of a meanie you are.” Armin teased, bending lower, pressing his body against her legs, his other hand trailing fingertips down and up her spine as he awaited her permission.
“As for me? Anything’s on the table. Do with me what you will baby.” Armin bent forward, his lips getting closer. “Isn’t kissing just a form of touching?” He asked sweetly enough, letting go of her lips and chin, his fingers brushing against her neck, where the mark was. Armin touched the mark with his lips, pressing kisses all long her neck, her jaw, then up against her ear. Armin nuzzled against Annie, his arms wrapped around her, fingers dancing along her back.
“You feel so amazing Annie, you know that?” Armin groaned into Annie’s ear, his voice hungry. “You’re driving me insane.”

"Am I?" She asked breathlessly, melting under his touch. She didn't move as he touched her, didn't even shiver, and she was honestly proud of herself for that. At this point, with Armin's god damn mouth watering smell and his hot hands and his beautiful face- she was burning with desire at this point. The effects of alcohol making her less willing to fight him and more willing to give into the urges that she swore up and down she didn't have for him.
She couldn't keep the lust from her eyes, icy eyes sharp and a grin still playing lazily on her lips. "Am I really driving you crazy, Arlert?" She said lightly, sliding one leg across his thigh. Her hand lazily moved between them, nails scratching across his lower stomach before playfully snapping the band of his boxers. "Because you seem perfectly fine to me." She added with a shrug, looking down at his lips.
Silently, she moved his hand back up, fingers stretched out between his, as she held his hand up in front of her face. Slowly, she made him move his hand back to her chin, and when he figured out what she wanted she smiled, staring into his eyes as she brought the finger he had nearest her lips into her mouth, holding it still with her teeth as she wrapped her tongue around it. Tasting his digit before giving it a soft suck, never once looking away from his eyes.

“Yes.” Armin immediately agreed into her ear, pressing another kiss just under her earlobe. His tongue darted off and Armin sucked the delicate lobe, nibbling on it playfully before running his tongue over the bites, and then moving back a bit, so he could see Annie’s pretty eyes.
“Mmm.” Armin approved of the feel of Annie’s leg sliding over his, opening her legs apart to which Armin moved closer, his left hand trailing from the middle of her back down lower, pausing when Annie’s nails scratched at his stomach before pulling on his boxers. Armin raised a eyebrow at her, knowing how hard he was.
“Oh really?” He said, letting Annie take his right hand and continued to touch her with his left. His hand curved over her ass and Armin squeezed the little handful he had before smoothing his fingers lower, following the curve to her thighs until his fingers cupped under her knee, holding her against him. His fingers caressing the soft spot against her inner thigh from underneath.
“Please keep exploring, I’m sure you’ll be proven wrong.” Armin sucked in a breath though, cupping her chin and watching her suck on his finger. His fingers gripping her juicy thigh, Armin stood straighter, pressing his growing hard on between her inner thighs, thinking how sexy Annie looked in that moment, imagining his cock between those sweet lips.
Armin groaned, feeling himself straining against her, and bent forward. He pulled his finger out of her wet mouth and covered Annie’s lips, slipping past her parted lips and rubbing his tongue against hers. Armin felt like he was on fire, nothing else mattering to him but Annie. The need to kiss her roughly, licking and biting and sucking, a never-ending frontal assault until Annie softened in his arms. His free hand going back to her ass, squeezing her left cheek now, before sliding his fingers up and brushing lightly against her nipple. Again and again, as Armin continued to ravage her delicious mouth.
